  • Linear Layout over relative layout

    - by Sai
I have a relative layout for Camera preview with some overlay features. The layout file looks like the one in shown below: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" > <android.view.SurfaceView xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/preview" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" > </android.view.SurfaceView> </RelativeLayout> I integrated some menu options from the android bluetooth chat example. The menu options work fine but if I click on one of the options, the app just froze. It opens a debug perspective but I am not able to understand them. The app does not seem to crash but it just froze. The layout that I am using for the menu options is: <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" > <TextView android:id="@+id/title_paired_devices" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="@string/title_paired_devices" android:visibility="gone" android:textColor="#fff" android:paddingLeft="5dp" /> <ListView android:id="@+id/paired_devices" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:stackFromBottom="true" android:layout_weight="1" /> <TextView android:id="@+id/title_new_devices" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="@string/title_other_devices" android:visibility="gone" android:textColor="#fff" android:paddingLeft="5dp" /> <ListView android:id="@+id/new_devices" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:stackFromBottom="true" android:layout_weight="2" /> Can I attribute this to the fact that I am trying to overlay Linear layout over relative layout? Any suggestions to display the list of bluetooth devices over camera preview would be greatly appreciated

  • o3d javascript uncaught reference error

    - by David Menard
    hey, im new to javascript and am intersted in creating a small o3d script: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Test Game Website</title> </head> <body> <script type="text/javascript" src="o3djs/base.js"></script> <script type = "text/javascript" id="myscript"> o3djs.require('o3djs.camera'); window.onload = init; function init(){ document.write("jkjewfjnwle"); } </script> <div align="background"> <div id="game_container" style="margin: 0px auto; clear: both; background-image: url('./tmp.png'); width: 800px; height:600px; padding: 0px; background-repeat: no-repeat; padding-top: 1px;"></div> </div> </body> </html> the browser cant seem to find o3djs/base.js in this line <script type="text/javascript" src="o3djs/base.js"></script> and gives me an uncaught referenceerror at this line o3djs.require('o3djs.camera'); Obviously, because it can't find the o3djs/base.js... I have installed the o3d pluggin from google and they say that should be IT ive tried on firefox, ie and chrome thanks

  • MediaRecorder Prepare Failed

    - by AndyTang
Hi, I'm new here. I have been trying to create a video capture app using the android emulator without much success. As far as I know and looking through all the samples and code on the internet (this site and others), I must still be missing a step. I've tried using this sample near the end of this thread made by JonPro: http://www.anddev.org/viewtopic.php?p=24723#24723 and I've tried making my own but the media recorder would always fail on the prepare stage with the most unhelpful message of 'prepare failed'. I have no clue what I am missing. I seem to have the correct permissions and a SDCard is mounted according to the emulator. Should I be using a android SDK version other than 2.1? Even though the code in that forum claims to work, I figured out that this line was missing: recorder.setCamera(camera); But still no joy as the logs shows that: 'Failed to get camera(0x16b70) parameters' when prepare() is called but it still doesn't make sense as the preview is okay, but no recording! Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

  • how to tile 3D mesh with image brush in XAML

    - by MC9000
    I have a 2D square in a ViewPort3D that I want to do a tiling of an image (like a checkerboard or flooring with "tiles" effect). I've created an image brush (the image is 50x50 pixels, the surface 250x550 pixels) and a viewport (trying to follow MS's site - though their example is for 2D), but only 1 of the colors in the "tile" image shows up and no tiling is seen. I can't find a single example on the Internet and MS's site has no info (that I can find) on 3D XAML anywhere, so I'm stumped as how to actually do this. <Viewport3D> <Viewport3D.Camera> <PerspectiveCamera Position="125,790,120" LookDirection="0,-.7,-0.25" UpDirection="0,0,1" /> </Viewport3D.Camera> <ModelVisual3D> <ModelVisual3D.Content> <Model3DGroup> <AmbientLight Color="white" /> <GeometryModel3D> <GeometryModel3D.Geometry> <MeshGeometry3D Positions="0,0,0 250,0,0 250,550,0 0,550,0 " TriangleIndices="0 1 3 1 2 3 "/> </GeometryModel3D.Geometry> <GeometryModel3D.Material> <DiffuseMaterial> <DiffuseMaterial.Brush> <ImageBrush ViewportUnits="Absolute" TileMode="Tile" ImageSource="testsquare.gif" Viewport="0,0,50,50" Stretch="None" ViewboxUnits="Absolute" /> </DiffuseMaterial.Brush> </DiffuseMaterial> </GeometryModel3D.Material> </GeometryModel3D> </Model3DGroup> </ModelVisual3D.Content> </ModelVisual3D> </Viewport3D>

  • WPD on XP, Vista, and 7 (need to transfer photo and video files)

    - by Bradley Dean
I need to transfer files (still photos and videos) from any portable device that a user may connect (still camera, video camera, mobile phone, etc.) I don't need to worry about plain storage devices as these have drive letters. And I only care about existing files, I don't care about live video, preview video, taking new pictures, etc. I originally tried WIA, which works great except it can not transfer video files. So then I tried WPD, following along with dimeby8's tutorial: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/dimeby8/archive/2006/09/27/774259.aspx I haven't gotten the transfer working yet (I'm converting it over to C#), but I can at least see the device and enumerate the files in Win7. In XP I get nothing. It's pointed out in this thread that WPD won't enumerate devices on XP (see Lisa O [MSFT]'s post): http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/windowssdk/thread/56459945-b757-45df-8c9f-4ebdbbb18a2c So WIA is out because it won't do video. And WPD is out because it won't do XP. Has anyone gotten this to work? Am I missing something simple here? Thanks.

  • Copy EXIF Metadata from TIF to JPEG in C# / VB.NET

    - by George
Hello! I would really appreciate if you could shed light on this problem. I have 2 images, one was created from TIF file with metadata, the other is an in-memory image that will be saved as jpeg. Then I use this routine to transfer exif metadata from first image to the second one (that is from the one created from tif file to the in-memory image): For Each _p In image1.PropertyItems image2.SetPropertyItem(_p) Next And this works perfectly fine. All exif items are successfully copied. I confirmed this by using watches in debug mode. The problem comes when you save image2 as jpeg using this: Dim eps As EncoderParameters = New EncoderParameters(1) eps.Param(0) = New EncoderParameter(Encoder.Quality, 85) Dim ici As ImageCodecInfo = GetEncoderInfo("image/jpeg") image2.Save("C:\1.jpg", ici, eps) Only very few EXIF properties are saved with image2 jpeg file however, namely only camera model and camera maker. However If I save image2 as TIF, all properties from the original tif will be there. Can anyone explain why is that? Thanks.

  • Can't Display Bitmap of Higher Resolution than CDC area

    - by T. Jones
    Hi there dear gurus and expert coders. i am not gonna start with im a newbie and don't know much about image programming but unfortunately those are the facts :( I am trying to display an image from a bitmap pointer *ImageData which is of resolution 1392x1032. I am trying to draw that at an area of resolution or size 627x474. However, repeated trying doesnt seem to work. It works when I change the bitmap image I created from *ImageData width and height to resolution or size of around 627x474 I really do not know how to solve this after trying all possible solutions from various forums and google. pDC is a CDC* and memDC is a CDC initialized in an earlier method Anything uninitialized here was initialized in other methods. Here is my code dear humble gurus. Do provide me with guidance Yoda and Obi-Wan provided to Luke Skywalker. void DemoControl::ShowImage( void *ImageData ) { int Width; //Width of Image From Camera int Height; //Height of Image From Camera int m_DisplayWidth = 627 ;//width of rectangle area to display int m_DisplayHeight = 474;//height of rectangle area to display GetImageSize( &Width, &Height ) ; //this will return Width = 1392, Height 1032 CBitmap bitmap; bitmap.CreateBitmap(Width,Height,32,1,ImageData); CBitmap* pOldBitmap = memDC.SelectObject((CBitmap*)&bitmap); pDC->BitBlt(22, 24, 627, 474, &memDC, 0, 0, SRCCOPY); memDC.SelectObject((CBitmap*)pOldBitmap); ReleaseDC(pDC); }

  • Android getting XML values

    - by Nils
    Hello, I have the following XML code, which I got by a UPnP device and like to get the res value - the RTSP URL. In this case rtsp://10.42.0.103:554/live.sdp How can I do this? I heard that Android has some built-in support for reading XML. Is that true? <DIDL-Lite xmlns="urn:schemas-upnp-org:metadata-1-0/DIDL-Lite/" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:upnp="urn:schemas-upnp-org:metadata-1-0/upnp/"> <item id="11" parentID="1" restricted="1"> <dc:title>Network Camera Stream 1</dc:title> <upnp:class>object.item.videoItem</upnp:class> <res protocolInfo="rtsp-rtp-udp:*:video/mpeg4-generic:*" resolution="640x480">rtsp://10.42.0.103:554/live.sdp</res> </item> <item id="12" parentID="1" restricted="1"> <dc:title>Network Camera Stream 2</dc:title> <upnp:class>object.item.videoItem</upnp:class> <res protocolInfo="rtsp-rtp-udp:*:video/mpeg4-generic:*" resolution="176x144">rtsp://10.42.0.103:554/live2.sdp</res> </item> </DIDL-Lite>

  • Synchronizing screencasting (ffmpeg) and capturing from the webcam (OpenCV)

    - by lyuba
As from my previous questions, I am trying to build a simple eye tracker. Decided to start from a Linux version (run Ubuntu). To complete this task one should organize screencasting and webcam capturing in such way that frames from both streams exactly match each other and there is the same number of frames in each of them totally. Screencasting fsp fully depends on the camera's fsp, so each time we get the image from the webcam we can potentially grab a screen frame and stay happy. However, all the tools for the fast screencasting, like ffmpeg, for example, return the .avi file as the result and require the fsp already known to be started. From the other side, tools like Java+Robot or ImageMagick seem to require around 20ms to return the .jpg screenshot, which is pretty slow for the task. But they may be requested right after each time the webcam frame is grabbed and provide the needed synchronization. So the sub-questions are: 1. Does the USD camera's frame rate vary during a single session? 2. Are there any tools which provide fast screencasting frame by frame? 3. Is there any way to make ffmpeg push a new frame to the .avi file only when program initiates this request? For my task I may either use C++ or Java. I am, actually, an interface designer, not the driver programmer, and this task seems to be pretty low-level. I would be grateful for any suggestion and tip!

  • Head Rotation in Opposite Direction with GLM and Oculus Rift SDK

    - by user3434662
    I am 90% there in getting orientation to work. I am just trying to resolve one last bit and I hope someone can point me to any easy errors I am making but not seeing. My code works except when a person looks left the camera actually rotates right. Vice versa with looking right, camera rotates left. Any idea what I am doing wrong here? I retrieve the orientation from the Oculus Rift like so: OVR::Quatf OculusRiftOrientation = PredictedPose.Orientation; glm::vec3 CurrentEulerAngles; glm::quat CurrentOrientation; OculusRiftOrientation.GetEulerAngles<OVR::Axis_X, OVR::Axis_Y, OVR::Axis_Z, OVR::Rotate_CW, OVR::Handed_R> (&CurrentEulerAngles.x, &CurrentEulerAngles.y, &CurrentEulerAngles.z); CurrentOrientation = glm::quat(CurrentEulerAngles); And here is how I calculate the LookAt: /* DirectionOfWhereCameraIsFacing is calculated from mouse and standing position so that you are not constantly rotating after you move your head. */ glm::vec3 DirectionOfWhereCameraIsFacing; glm::vec3 RiftDirectionOfWhereCameraIsFacing; glm::vec3 RiftCenterOfWhatIsBeingLookedAt; glm::vec3 PositionOfEyesOfPerson; glm::vec3 CenterOfWhatIsBeingLookedAt; glm::vec3 CameraPositionDelta; RiftDirectionOfWhereCameraIsFacing = DirectionOfWhereCameraIsFacing; RiftDirectionOfWhereCameraIsFacing = glm::rotate(CurrentOrientation, DirectionOfWhereCameraIsFacing); PositionOfEyesOfPerson += CameraPositionDelta; CenterOfWhatIsBeingLookedAt = PositionOfEyesOfPerson + DirectionOfWhereCameraIsFacing * 1.0f; RiftCenterOfWhatIsBeingLookedAt = PositionOfEyesOfPerson + RiftDirectionOfWhereCameraIsFacing * 1.0f; RiftView = glm::lookAt(PositionOfEyesOfPerson, RiftCenterOfWhatIsBeingLookedAt, DirectionOfUpForPerson);

  • Projective transformation

    - by mcwehner
Given two image buffers (assume it's an array of ints of size width * height, with each element a color value), how can I map an area defined by a quadrilateral from one image buffer into the other (always square) image buffer? I'm led to understand this is called "projective transformation". I'm also looking for a general (not language- or library-specific) way of doing this, such that it could be reasonably applied in any language without relying on "magic function X that does all the work for me". An example: I've written a short program in Java using the Processing library (processing.org) that captures video from a camera. During an initial "calibrating" step, the captured video is output directly into a window. The user then clicks on four points to define an area of the video that will be transformed, then mapped into the square window during subsequent operation of the program. If the user were to click on the four points defining the corners of a door visible at an angle in the camera's output, then this transformation would cause the subsequent video to map the transformed image of the door to the entire area of the window, albeit somewhat distorted.

  • Having constrains object to move X,Y at the same time?

    - by Hwang
The stage is separated into 4 sections, and I will be moving the camera around the stage. So at each particular section the camera will have an area of constrain it can move. I mange to constrain its X & Y, but it could only navigate either X or Y. How to move in X+Y at the same time? if (mouseX>sec2maxX) { TweenLite.to(vC, 1, {x:sec2maxX}); } else if (mouseX<sec2minX) { TweenLite.to(vC, 1, {x:sec2minX}); } else { TweenLite.to(vC, 1, {x:mouseX}); } if (mouseY<sec2minY) { TweenLite.to(vC, 1, {y:sec2minY}); } else if (mouseY>sec2maxY) { TweenLite.to(vC, 1, {y:sec2maxY}); } else { TweenLite.to(vC, 1, {y:mouseY}); } if i were to put X & Y in a same line of code it would be a lot of possibilities when the mouse is on top left or right bottom kind of situation, so I need to have it running seperately, but how can I combine it so that it could move X+Y?

  • Child Activity in Android

    - by Martin Marinov
So I have two Activities. The main is called Main, and the child one is called Child. When a button is clicked in the main activity it triggers the following piece of code: Intent i = new Intent(Main.this, Child.class); Main.this.startActivity(i); That opens the Child activity. As soon as I call finish() or press the back button within the child activity instead of going back to the main one, the app just closes. Can you give me a hint where the problem might be :( P.S. By trial and error I found out that if edit AndroidManifest.xml and add android:theme="@android:style/Theme.Dialog" within the declaration of Child the back button and calling finish() behaves as expected: closes the child activity and brings the main into focus. The problem is that when I start typing in an EditText the screen starts flickering (rather bizzare). So I can't use it as a dialog. My main activity uses the camera, so that might be making problems. Although when the child activity is started, the onPause event is fired and it stops the camera until onResume is called.

  • iPhone: How to use CGContextConcatCTM for saving a transformed image properly?

    - by Irene
I am making an iPhone application that loads an image from the camera, and then the user can select a second image from the library, move/scale/rotate that second image, and then save the result. I use two UIImageViews in IB as placeholders, and then apply transformations while touching/pinching. The problem comes when I have to save both images together. I use a rect of the size of the first image and pass it to UIGraphicsBeginImageContext. Then I tried to use CGContextConcatCTM but I can't understand how it works: CGRect rect = CGRectMake(0, 0, img1.size.width, img1.size.height); // img1 from camera UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(rect.size); // Start drawing CGContextRef ctx = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); CGContextClearRect(ctx, rect); // Clear whole thing [img1 drawAtPoint:CGPointZero]; // Draw background image at 0,0 CGContextConcatCTM(ctx, img2.transform); // Apply the transformations of the 2nd image But what do I need to do next? What information is being held in the img2.transform matrix? The documentation for CGContextConcatCTM doesn't help me that much unfortunately.. Right now I'm trying to solve it by calculating the points and the angle using trigonometry (with the help of this answer), but since the transformation is there, there has to be an easier and more elgant way to do this, right?

  • Turning a series of raw images into movie frames in Android

    - by Nicholas Killewald
I've got an Android project I'm working on that, ultimately, will require me to create a movie file out of a series of still images taken with a phone's camera. That is to say, I want to be able to take raw image frames and string them together, one by one, into a movie. Audio is not a concern at this stage. Looking over the Android API, it looks like there are calls in it to create movie files, but it seems those are entirely geared around making a live recording from the camera on an immediate basis. While nice, I can't use that for my purposes, as I need to put annotations and other post-production things on the images as they come in before they get fed into a movie (plus, the images come way too slowly to do a live recording). Worse, looking over the Android source, it looks like a non-trivial task to rewire that to do what I want it to do (at least without touching the NDK). Is there any way I can use the API to do something like this? Or alternatively, what would be the best way to go about this, if it's even feasible on cell phone hardware (which seems to keep getting more and more powerful, strangely...)?

  • UIImagePickerController Crash after 5 to 7 pictures - again

    - by Sophtware
OK, I know this one has been beaten to death on this forum, but I'm still having the memory problem and I have tried all the techniques on the web to get around this. I have an application that uses the UIImagePickerController to capture an image from the camera. I've tried both creating and destroying the controller for each picture, and keeping it around for the life of the app. Both are failing. The first way crashes the phone almost immediately. While the second, leaving the controller around, crashes the app after about 5 to 7 pictures. My original app used an undocumented API to get around this issue, but Apple rejected it because of this. I really need to get my app to the store. Does anyone have code showing how they got around the issue? I know there is a way because there are apps on the store using the camera, but I just can't seem to get it. Any help is greatly appreciated! I can post my code here too, if needed.

  • Portable version of Sonicwall Global VPN Client? Install without administrator credentials?

    - by Sam Salisbury
Does anyone know of a portable version of the Sonicwall Global VPN Client compatible with Windows 7 64 bit? I basically need to connect to my workplace during heavy snow here in Liverpool, and the only logon I have available on this computer is a non-administrator account (which won't let me install the program)... And I can't get hold of the administrator! If anyone knows of any alternative program/any hacks or other suggestions would be very welcome! Note I've tried extracting the MSI using 7-zip, which presented me with an MSI installer and "RunMSI.exe". The extracted MSI allowed me to get part way through the installation, and then asked for admin password again.

  • How to restart php-cgi automatically with spawn-fcgi

    - by mrm8
I'm running nginx with php as fcgi. It's working just fine, however, php-cgi keeps on exit()ing after serving 500 requests. I tried increasing that value (PHP_FCGI_MAX_REQUESTS), and that worked, but that seems to be a workaround. Then I set it to 0, and it didn't exit() yet. But I think there's a reason why php-cgi should be restarted. At the moment, I'm running php-cgi with spawn-fcgi: when the php process exits, spawn-fcgi exits, too. Now, is there a way to automatically restart php (without dirty hacks like while [ 1 ]; do spawn-fcgi; done etc)?

  • NTFS file size, how do you guys refresh it to view its current correct size

    - by Michael Goldshteyn
I work in a command prompt quite often and around many large (remote) log files. Unfortunatelly, the sizes of these files do not update as the logs grow, unless it would appear the files are touched. I usually use hacks like the following from Cygwin to "touch" the file so that its file size updates: stat file.txt or head -c0 file.txt Are there any native Windows constructs that can refresh the file size from the command prompt, as unintrusively as possible and preferrably without transferring any (remote) data, since I often need to refresh the sizes of very large files remotely, to see how large they have grown.

  • Options to optimize lotus notes 8.5.X

    - by Jakub
Has anyone found actually useful optimization methods for the bulky, fat, eclipse giant, nuissance that is Lotus Notes 8.5? I want it to be fast, and not eat up system resources like crazy while I run it ALL day (as it is my company's corporate mail / cal / scheduling solution). I've tried various hacks for the JVM heap size (if I recall correctly). None really bring a performance improvement. I have a dual core cpu, if that helps (I tried going the route of optimizing JAVA for 2 cores in hopes it would work, but seen no speed improvement). Notes is just sooo bloated, anyone have any suggestions to optimize/mod this thing so it is more responsive and less of a resource hog. Note: I don't want to switch to the web version, or the standard stripped down versions, I am aware of those, I just cannot since we don't run those internally for the company.

  • Configuring Server with no monitor

    - by Scandalist
Sitting in front of me is an HP DL 380 Generation 4 with no monitor. I'd like to install an OS on the thing but for reasons obvious, I can't. I got excited when I found the ILO port on the back but unless you have a subscription it has limited functionality. I was thinking maybe there was some software out there that booted into some kind of remote access server? When I tested it with a monitor (A friends) I set the BIOS to boot from USB so anything I can load onto a stick should boot. Ideas? Hacks?

  • Use Outlook 2007 to connect to mail using active sync protocol

    - by Dan
Has anyone tried connected outlook(I am running v2007 on Windows 7) to a mail service using the MS Exchange Active Sync protocol? I know it is intended for mobile devices, but to me it looks like it is becoming the latest 'de facto' mail protocol for email/calendar/contact sync'ing due to the iPhone's support for it. I just think it would be an elegant solution to get my lotus notes mail in outlook(my company uses lotus notes with traveler service installed that exposes mail over the active sync protocol so I can currently read my notes mail via iPhone). This solution would probably eliminate the need for all the hacks needed to connect outlook to 'X' mail (Gmail, notes, etc) So, maybe someone out there has tried this or knows how to do it before spend time on more researching this. Thanks!

  • Media Sharing on Windows Server 2008 R2

    - by HCL
I want a Server 2008R2 (x64) to act as DNLA-Server. I remember I tried this with a Server 2008 about two years ago and this was only possible with some ugly hacks. Is it on Server 2008R2 now possible to enable Windows MediaPlayer Media-Sharing by installing the desktop experience packet? Has someone already experience on this. Or is there another possibility to allow media sharing on a Server 2008R2 "the designated way"? I remember that on Server 2008 the way was to install the old MediaConnect-Pacakge. But I hesitate to install such a component on a server. Anciently I installed VirtualServer with Vista and enabled the media server there in, but this seems to me somewhat overkill for such a simple task.
