• Home directory messed up

  Recently, I installed Ubuntu 12.04. For some reason, i backed-up my home directory contents to another directory(say bkp dir). Precisely, I moved Documents, Pictures, Downloads, etc.. to bkp directory. Now, Deleted all my original home directory contents. I restored all the bkp directory content back to home. I find them all on my Desktop. I believe some kinda chain is broken. I dont find respective home directories icons on them. How do i restore it? Also, i dont find them in my places options. • Pointers in C vs No pointers in PHP

  Both languages have the same syntax. Why does C have the weird * character that denotes pointers (which is some kind of memory address of the variable contents?), when PHP doesn't have it and you can do pretty much the same things in PHP that you can do in C, without pointers? I guess the PHP compiler handles this internally, why doesn't C do the same? Doesn't this add unneeded complexity in C? For example I don't understand them :)

I need to check the cache date and time of both pages so that i can compare and guess which page is original and which one is duplicate according to Google. Because i know that if Google found two webpages with same content, it consider the first cached page by Google bot as unique. Is there any online tool for checking that? or other ways?

• Ubuntu 12.04 forgetting XModmap settings often

  I have the following contents in my ~/.Xmodmap file. It seems a couple times a day (without rebooting or logging out) I need to rerun the command "xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap" to reset my settings. The only thing I can think is that it seems to happen when I walk away from my computer for a bit. Maybe it forgets the settings when the computer locks itself? remove control = Control_L remove mod1 = Alt_L keycode 64 = Control_L keycode 37 = Alt_L add control = Control_L add mod1 = Alt_L Anyone else seeing similar issues?

• Error When installing ubuntu

  I downloaded the files from ubuntu and ran wubi.exe assuming that is how i install ubuntu. (This is my first time installing anything other than windows and not using a CD.) Ubuntu Installer completed but said there was an error. • google chrome : http authentication issue on iframe

  I have an HTML file with 2 links http://versionplus.in/pass/new.html, both links are in an iframe to load the contents inside the iframe. I have two protected directories one on the same server and other on another server. If you click on either link it will popup the login box, same for both links in all browsers except google chorme. google chrome doesn't show login box for the protected folder on another server, how can I fix this ?

  IPS group packages consist solely of dependencies on other packages that make up a logical grouping of software. These are similar to, but not the equivalent of, Solaris 10 metaclusters. The main difference is that metaclusters are nested subsets ranging from a minimal install to nearly all packages on the media. Group packages have no such hierarchy. They can overlap other groups, or be completely disjoint sets. A group dependency is set this way in an IPS package manifest file: depend fmri=full/pkg/name type=group Current Solaris Groups Solaris currently has 4 system groups defined.   Sorry if this is a duplicate, I looked. We're moving to Git. In Subversion, I'm used to having \trunk, \branches and \tags folders. With Git, switching between branches will replace the contents of the working directory, so am I right to assume that the way we used to work just doesn't apply with Git? My guess is that I'd have a repo folder with maybe a gitignore and readme.txt, then the folders for the projects that make up the repo, and that's it.

This immediately adds InventoryGameScreen to the array of GameScreens. That's throwing an exception when iterating over the array that the contents of the array have changed.   hope someone can help. I need to access 11.04 ubuntu files residing on a second hard drive (dual boot XP/Ubuntu) from a 10.04 hard drive installation. The 11.04 system co-exists with XP on the second drive. This drive is HPFS/NTFS. My 10.04 installation mounts and displays the contents of the XP installation and all files but the 11.04 system is nowhere to be seen. How can I see and access the Ubuntu partition, please?
