  • How to create and Expression tree to do the same as "StartsWith"

    - by Jonathan
    Hi to all. Currently, I have this method to compare two numbers Private Function ETForGreaterThan(ByVal query As IQueryable(Of T), ByVal propertyValue As Object, ByVal propertyInfo As PropertyInfo) As IQueryable(Of T) Dim e As ParameterExpression = Expression.Parameter(GetType(T), "e") Dim m As MemberExpression = Expression.MakeMemberAccess(e, propertyInfo) Dim c As ConstantExpression = Expression.Constant(propertyValue, propertyValue.GetType()) Dim b As BinaryExpression = Expression.GreaterThan(m, c) Dim lambda As Expression(Of Func(Of T, Boolean)) = Expression.Lambda(Of Func(Of T, Boolean))(b, e) Return query.Where(lambda) End Function It works fine and is consumed in this way query = ETForGreaterThan(query, Value, propertyInfo) As you can see, I give it an IQueryable collection and it add a where clause to it, base on a property and a value. Y can construct Lessthan, LessOrEqualThan etc equivalents as Expression has this operators predefined. ¿How can I transform this code to do the same with strings? Expression don't give me a predefined operator like "contains" or "startwith" and I'm really noob with Expression trees. Thanks, and please Post your answer in C#/VB. Choose the one that make you feel more confortable.

  • Unable to parse variable length string separated by delimiter

    - by Technext
    Hi, I have a problem with parsing a string, which consists only of directory path. For ex. My input string is Abc\Program Files\sample\ My output should be Abc//Program Files//sample The script should work for input path of any length i.e., it can contain any no. of subdirectories. (For ex., abc\temp\sample\folder\joe) I have looked for help in many links but to no avail. Looks like FOR command extracts only one whole line or a string (when we use ‘token’ keyword in FOR syntax) but my problem is that I am not aware of the input path length and hence, the no. of tokens. My idea was to use \ as a delimiter and then extract each word before and after it (), and put the words to an output file along with // till we reach the end of the string. I tried implementing the following but it did not work: @echo off FOR /F "delims=\" %%x in (orig.txt) do ( IF NOT %%x == "" echo.%%x//output.txt ) The file orig.txt contains only one line i.e, Abc\Program Files\sample\ The output that I get contains only: Abc// The above output contains blank spaces as well after ‘Abc//’ My desired output should be: Abc//program Files//sample// Can anyone please help me with this? Regards, Technext

  • How to parse the AndroidManifest.xml file inside an .apk package

    - by jnorris
    This file appears to be in a binary XML format. What is this format and how can it be parsed programmatically (as opposed to using the aapt dump tool in the SDK)? This binary format is not discussed in the in the documentation here: http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/manifest/manifest-intro.html Note: I want to access this information from outside the Android environment, preferably from Java.

  • PHP classes, parse syntax errors when using 'var' to declare variables

    - by jon
    I am a C# guy trying to translate some of my OOP understanding over to php. I'm trying to make my first class object, and are hitting a few hitches. Here is the beginning of the class: <?php require("Database/UserDB.php"); class User { private var $uid; private var $username; private var $password; private var $realname; private var $email; private var $address; private var $phone; private var $projectArray; public function _construct($username) { $userArray = UserDB::GetUserArray($username); $uid = $userArray['uid']; $username = $userArray['username']; $realname = $userArray['realname']; $email = $userArray['email']; $phone = $userArray['phone']; $i = 1; $projectArray = UserDB::GetUserProjects($this->GetID()); while($projectArray[$i] != null) { $projectArray[$i] = new Project($projectArray[$i]); } UserDB.php is where I have all my static functions interacting with the Database for this User Class. I am getting errors using when I use var, and I'm getting confused. I know I don't HAVE to use var, or declare the variables at all, but I feel it is a better practice to do so. the error is "unexpected T_VAR, expecting T_VARIABLE" When I simply remove var from the declarations it works. Why is this?

  • Storing tree data in Javascript

    - by Ozh
    I need to store data to represent this: Water + Fire = Steam Water + Earth = Mud Mud + Fire = Rock The goal is the following: I have draggable HTML divs, and when <div id="Fire"> and <div id="Mud"> overlap, I add <div id="Rock"> to the screen. Ever played Alchemy on iPhone or Android? Same stuff Right now, the way I'm doing this is a JS object : var stuff = { 'Steam' : { needs: [ 'Water', 'Fire'] }, 'Mud' : { needs: [ 'Water', 'Earth'] }, 'Rock' : { needs: [ 'Mud', 'Fire'] }, // etc... }; and every time a div overlaps with another one, I traverse the object keys and check the 'needs' array. I can deal with that structure but I was wondering if I could do any better? Edit: I should add that I also need to store a few other things, like a short description or an icon name. So typicall I have Steam: { needs: [ array ], desc: "short desc", icon:"steam.png"},

  • What is the most efficient approach to fetch category tree, products, brands, counts by subcategory

    - by alex227
    Symfony 1.4 + Doctrine 1.2. What is the best way to minimize the number of queries to retrieve products, subcategories of current category, product counts by subcategory and brand for the result set of the query below? Categories are a nested set. Here is my query: $q = Doctrine_Query::create() ->select('c.*, p.product,p.price, b.brand') ->from('Category c') ->leftJoin('c.Product p') ->leftJoin('p.Brand b') ->where ('c.root_id = ?', $this->category->getRootId()) ->andWhere('c.lft >= ?', $this->category->getLft()) ->andWhere('c.rgt <= ?', $this->category->getRgt()) ->setHydrationMode(Doctrine_Core::HYDRATE_ARRAY); $treeObject = Doctrine::getTable('Category')->getTree(); $treeObject->setBaseQuery($q); $this->treeObject = $treeObject; $treeObject->resetBaseQuery(); $this->products = $q->execute();

  • Partially parse C++ for a domain-specific language

    - by PierreBdR
    I would like to create a domain specific language as an augmented-C++ language. I will need mostly two types of contructs: Top-level constructs for specialized types or declarations In-code constructs, i.e. to add primitives to make functions calls or idiom easier The language will be used for scientific computing purposes, and will ultimately be translated into plain C++. C++ has been chosen as it seems to offer a good compromise between: ease of use, efficiency and availability of a wide range of libraries. A previous attempt using flex and bison failed due to the complexity of the C++ syntax. The existing parser can still fail on some constructs. So we want to start over, but on better bases. Do you know about similar projects? And if you attempted to do so, what tools would you use? What would be the main pitfalls? Would you have recommendations in term of syntax?

  • Converting keys of an array/object-tree to lowercase

    - by tstenner
    Im currently optimizing a PHP application and found one function being called around 10-20k times, so I'd thought I'd start optimization there. function keysToLower($obj) { if(!is_object($obj) && !is_array($obj)) return $obj; foreach($obj as $key=>$element) { $element=keysToLower($element); if(is_object($obj)) { $obj->{strtolower($key)}=$element; if(!ctype_lower($key)) unset($obj->{$key}); } else if(is_array($obj) && ctype_upper($key)) { $obj[strtolower($key)]=$element; unset($obj[$key]); } } return $obj; } Most of the time is spent in recursive calls (which are quite slow in PHP), but I don't see any way to convert it to a loop. What would you do?

  • .Net using Chr() to parse text

    - by Marcx
    I'm building a simple client-server chat system. The clients send data to the server and the server resends the data to all the other clients. I'm using the TcpListener and Network stream classes to send the data between the client and the server. The fields I need to send are, for example: name, text, timestamp, etc. I separate them using the ASCII character 29. I'm also using ASCII character 30 to mark the end of the streamed data. The data is encoded with UTF8.. Is this a good approach? Will I run into problems? Are there better methods? UPDATE: Probably my question was misunderstood, so I explain it better.. Suppose to have a list of data to send from client to server, and suppose to send all the data in only one stream, how do you send these data? Using a markup Using a character as a delimiter Using a fixed length for every fields

    - by Ibnu Syuhada
    I am trying to write a C++ program, but I am not familiar with C++. I have a .txt file, which contains values as follows: 0 0.0146484 0.0292969 0.0439453 0.0585938 0.0732422 0.0878906 What I have done in my C++ code is as follows: #include <iostream> #include <fstream> using namespace std; int main() { string line; ifstream myReadFile; myReadFile.open("Qi.txt"); if(myReadFile.is_open()) { while(myReadFile.good()) { getline(myReadFile,line); cout << line << endl; } myReadFile.close(); } return 0; } I would like to make the output of the program an array, i.e. line[0] = 0 line[1] = 0.0146484 line[2] = 0.0292969 line[3] = 0.0439453 line[4] = 0.0585938 line[5] = 0.0732422 line[6] = 0.0878906

  • Parse particular text from an XML string

    - by Dan Sewell
    Hi all, Im writing an app which reads an RSS feed and places items on a map. I need to read the lat and long numbers only from this string: http://www.xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.co.uk/map.aspx?isTrafficAlert=true&lat=53.647351&lon=-1.933506 .This is contained in link tags Im a bit of a programming noob but im writing this in C#/Silverlight using Linq to XML. Shold this text be extrated when parsing or after parsing and sent to a class to do this? Many thanks for your assistance. EDIT. Im going to try and do a regex on this this is where I need to integrate the regex somewhere in this code. I need to take the lat and long from the Link element and seperate it into two variables I can use (the results are part of a foreach loop that creates a list.) var events = from ev in document.Descendants("item") select new { Title = (ev.Element("title").Value), Description = (ev.Element("description").Value), Link = (ev.Element("link").Value), }; Question is im not quite ure where to put the regex (once I work out how to use the regex properly! :-) )

  • parse unformatted string into dictionary with python

    - by user553131
    I have following string. DATE: 12242010Key Type: Nod32 Anti-Vir (30d trial) Key: a5B2s-sH12B-hgtY3-io87N-srg98-KLMNO I need to create dictionary so it would be like { "DATE": "12242010", "Key Type": "Nod32 Anti-Vir (30d trial)", "Key": "a5B2s-sH12B-hgtY3-io87N-srg98-KLMNO" } The problem is that string is unformatted DATE: 12242010Key Type: Nod32 Anti-Vir (30d trial) there is no space after Date before Key Type also it would be nice to have some validation for Key, eg if there are 5 chars in each box of key and number of boxes I am a beginner in python and moreover in regular expressions. Thanks a lot.
