• Safest LAMP encrypt method

  Hello, what is PHP's safest encrypt/decrypt method, in use with MySQL - to store let's say passwords? Of course, not for portal purposes. I want to do little password (domain/mysql/ftp...) storage for whole team online, but I don't want really to endanger our clients' bussinesses. Hash can't be used for obvious reasons (Doesn't really make sense to run rainbow tables every time :D). Any idea?

If it makes sense, I want the element to act like it is position:fixed when the user scrolls vertically down the page, but act like it's position:static for sideways scrolling.   I have a input that the user types a search parameter into, at the moment i have it on keyup to do a POST ajax request to a PHP script that returns search results. however its firing off 50 billion (not literally) post requests in about 10 seconds (as the user types) which slows the whole experience down. Can i use jQuery to detect a "wordup" rather than "keyup" by detecting the use of the space bar? Does this make sense?

  Hello. I have a problem validating data on view that is not strongly typed. I'm updating data from 3 different models on that view, and I have validation methods that work on them, but I don't know how to display the validation message. Where should I put validation messages (on strongly typed views I put them in ModelState, I presume that does not make sense in this case), and how should I display them (I doubt that I will be able to use "validationmessagefor", maybe "validationmessage" somehow)?

  I'm trying to deploy a Yii webapp into Heroku but, it keep throwing at me a weird error: Application runtime path "/app/www/protected/runtime" is not valid. Please make sure it is a directory writable by the Web server process. Makes no sense and I know is something to do with Heroku because in my local machine it works fine.   I'm using var retval = value.replace(/<br[\s\/]?>/gi, '\n'); To strip the <br> tags from the textarea and nl2br('$_POST('newValueHere')') to insert into my database and to return back to jeditable to display the edits. The only problem I'm having is that each click on the editable field seems to make all the <br> tags be written twice? This makes no sense, does anyone have any ideas what could be going on?

• mouse wheel operates on scrollbar

  If a SWF file or even a component within it has scrollbars, wouldn't it make sense that if the user is hovered over that area (it's in focus) and uses the mouse wheel, that this movement would automatically translate to the scrollbar moving. Any ideas how this is done, the events or classes used for this? I'm open to outside components or classes too. I haven't started yet, but I'll do an item renderer because it's easy to give it scrollbar.

  I hope this is still programming related, as SuperUser doesn't seem the appropriate place. Basically I wonder if it is possible to have Applications that are internal to a company on the iPhone? That is something like a companion Application to an Intranet (when Safari and Mail just don't cut it) which wouldn't make sense on the AppStore (and likely wouldn't get approved anyway).
