  I have a program called DVR_PLAYER that is downloaded from a home security camera web interface. The web interface saves surveillance footage in the form of proprietary .drv files. I am unable to use the program to view the files on the cd on any machine that isn't the original machine I downloaded the files from. Every time I try to open it up it says, " Remote200.ocx not installed or it couldn't be installed. Please check user privilege." I need other machines to be able to open and view the footage I've downloaded using this program so that I can hand it in to the local police. Any ideas?

  I am running Debian Wheezy on my server, and have just installed a VNC server and Xfce. I have come across a problem: whenever I open a terminal emulator through VNC, I get an error box with this message: Failed to execute child. getpt failed: No such file or directory. This happens with every terminal I try to run. I can still run commands through SSH, however. It's just the terminal that won't open. Does anyone have any suggestions? /etc/fstab: proc /proc proc defaults 0 0 none /dev/pts devpts rw 0 0

• SSH tunneling with Synology

  I try to tunnel SMB and AFP services through SSH to acces my NAS shares on my machine. I already do it successfully with my ReadyNAS using the following command line (ran as my user on my mac) : ssh -Nf -p 22 -c 3des-cbc USER@SERVER -L 8888/127.0.0.1/548 -L 9999/127.0.0.1/139 but I cannot reproduce the same with the Synology NAS. Connecting using this command gives me the following error : channel 4: open failed: administratively prohibited: open failed I also tried with a windows client (used bitvise tunneler): it works with the ReadyNAS but not the Synology and get the following error msg : server denied request for client-side server-2-client forwarding on 127.0.0.1:139 I modified /etc/ssh/sshd_config : MaxSessions 10 PasswordAuthentication yes PermitEmptyPasswords no AllowTcpForwarding yes GatewayPorts yes PermitTunnel yes Is there any way to make it work ? I must add that I can successfully connect via SSH to the NAS so I donnot think this is a firewall issue between the Synology and my computer. Thanks for you answers

• Office 2013 OCT unhandled exception when saving .RSP

  I'm trying to prepare a deployment of office 2013 pro plus. If I deploy an existing .rsp file that was left behind by the old analyst (typing from the client): PS C: \\deploybox\software\Office2013\setup.exe /adminfile \\deploybox\software\Office2013\SWKS.MSP Things seem to deploy just fine. if I make any changes to the .rsp file by doing (all from the client): PS C: \\deploybox\software\Office2013\setup.exe /admin * Open SWKS.MSP * Make changes * Save under a different name SWKS1.MSP I get the following errorbox: Unhandled Exception: MsiGetSummaryInformation call failed. And if I try to deploy the new SWKS1.MSP, PS C: \\deploybox\software\Office2013\setup.exe /adminfile \\deploybox\software\Office2013\SWKS1.MSP it fails with the message: Path or file specified with /adminfile did not contain any customization patches that apply to this product or platform. If I even open the old known good .rsp file SWKS.MSP, and immediately save it as a new name SWKS1.MSP, making no changes, then the same thing happens. So what stupid newbie mistake am I making here? • Hyper-V Virtual Ethernet Adapter not working probperly - Code 31 on Host

  I have a Windows 8.1 machine with Hyper-V installed. From a "clean" Hyper-V configuration I open Virtual Switch Manager, create an External switch with "Allow management operating system to share this network adapter", click OK. Everything seems to work properly but the host loses network connectivity. Opening Device Manager, the "Hyper-V Virtual Ethernet Adapter" is shown under the Network Adapter section with a yellow triangle, and the following message: This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31) An object ID was not found in the file. I tried "Uninstalling" the device, seems to work, but the device doesn't actually remove. I tried removing and re-adding the Hyper-V feature completely, no difference. Tried scf /scannow, no problems. System and Application logs show no errors.   Hi, My W2K3 server was running TFS 2008 SP1, SQL Server 2005 Development edition. I installed SQL Server 2008 Standard. I installed it while leaving SQL Server 2005 alone. Upgrading was not possible due to the differences in editions of the SQL Servers. Now TFS is broken. And what I find suspicious is the following error in my app log: .NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Failed to compile: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Binn\VSShell\Common7\Tools\VDT\DataProjects.dll . Error code = 0x8007000b In MS connect this is reported as a bug but MS is unable to reproduce the problem altough when you search the fora I'm not the only one with this problem. So any help is appreciated.

• Port forwarding on Fortigate 50B

  I have serious problems setting up port forwarding on a Fortigate 50B. The unit is basically running as factory default, the wan1 interface is connected to my fibre optic internet modem, and my lan is connected to the internal switch of the Fortigate. The factory default firewall policy allowing traffic from the internal interface to wan1 is kept and I'm able to access the interet as normal. Then I added a virtual ip and a firewall policy for allowing access from the internet to my local servers (ip 192.168.9.51) webserver (standard port 80). The settings I made are as follows. Edit Virtual IP Mapping Name : Server VIP External interface : wan1 Type : Static NAT Extermal IP Address/Range : 0.0.0.0 Mapped IP Address/Range : 192.168.9.51 Port Forwading : not checked Firewall policy Source interface/Zone : wan1 Source address : all Destination interface/Zone : internal Destination address : Server VIP Schedule : always Service : HTTP Action : ACCEPT no other settings checked What happens now is that I'm unable to access internet from my server, I'm not getting through to the webserver from internet either. I'm able to ping a site on the outside, but all web traffic is blocked, both ways. I've checked the documentation, but as far as I can tell I have set this up correctly. Anyone here with knowledge of Fortigate port forwading/NAT?

• How do you force Outlook 2007 to re-index it's seach on Windows XP SP 3?

  So I have a Windows XP SP 3 machine which is running Outlook 2007. When I search in Outlook for an email that exists using a basic keyword, like say "MySQL", I get no results. However, Outlook gives me the following message: Search results may be incomplete because items are still being indexed. Click here for more details. When I click, I get the following: Outlook is currently indexing your items. Search results may be incomplete because items are still being indexed. 8783 items remaining in "Mailbox - USER" 8812 items remaining across all open mailboxes. The thing is, these are the numbers it has been reporting for several days, and Outlook is open for 8 hours a day. It does not seem like the index is working. As best I can tell, the index seemed to stop about 3 weeks ago. How can I force Outlook 2007 to re-index everything and start working properly again?

• Windows Server 2008 R2 DFSR Backlog Troubleshooting - Where to look for the cause of the problem?

  Our target server indicates it has hundreds of thousands of backlogged transactions. Our authoritative source server indicates it has no backlogged transactions. No replication is taking place. Tests with plain text files aren't replicating. dfsdiag propogation tests fail to propogate. I've restarted the DFS services. I've restarted the servers. I've created new DFS shares to test with. The authoritative source server indicates it has no backlogs and the target indicates it has backlogs (which are the files it's waiting to receive). Files don't replicate in either direction. 2x Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard servers One server is at each of two sites The DFSR shares are on each respective server \site_1_server_1\users \site_2_server_1\users The sites are connected by a T1 DFSR worked for a week. I added a new share, another folder on the same servers, and that replicated for a weekend but never finished. Then all replication stopped. Is Windows DFSR flaky? What tools should I use and what should I look at to identify what's causing this problem?

  We have a Dell PowerEgde 1950 server with Broadcom NetXtreme gigabit ethernet card, and we are facing a strange problem with static IP assignment. When we assign a static IP to this broadcom NIC, settings are not getting saved. Following are the steps to reproduce problem open TCP/IP properties window for broadcom NIC manually enter static IP address and other details like gateway, DNS, etc. apply and close properties dialog. re-open TCP/IP properties windows, you will see your static IP settings lost and changed to "obtain IP address manually" but when checked using ipconfig command, you will still see your same static IP settings but, when checked using ipconfig command after rebooting server, these static ip settings are completely gone and automatically obtained IP is assigned Supplementary information: Recently we had formatted this server and installed windows 2003 from OEM windows setup CD (not from OS installation CD received from Dell). After windows installation was over, broadcom NIC drivers were installed.

• WDS's MDT DeploymentShare and REMINST replicated with DFS-R does not read WIM from local WDS

  I've read several guides on using DFS-R with WDS and MDT to replicate REMINST and DeploymentShare, and I have a particularly strange problem. On the receiving server, after configuring WDS and mounting the DeploymentShare into MDT's DeploymentWorkbench, I also performed the following: 1) in .\Control\Bootstrap.ini, changed DeployRoot to \%wdsserver%\DeploymentShare$ 2) Changed the UNC path at the root of the MDT Deployment Share in the DeploymentWorkbench to match that of the current server. 3) In Unattend.xml files located: .\Control**, modified the following value to match the current server: <cpi:offlineImage catelog://HOST/ I am able to boot and grab the LiteTouch PE image off the local WDS TFTP server, but the WIM files, the scripts, everything else is being pulled off the WDS server at the remote site (the original WDS server that was the source of the files within the DFS-R replicated folder). What do I do in order to solve this problem? I've grepped all the files below the DeploymentShare to look for instances of the hostname of the WDS server at the remote site (the source of the files), but I found none. • Intel RST crashing! IAStorUI unstable in win 8.1

  I have a Z87E-ITX Asrock mobo. Using a new 64G Corsair SSD as cache and a new Western Digi Black Scorpion 750G 2.5" drive. Using windows 8.1. Latest software or not, I can't open Intel RST software without it saying IAStorUI has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly blah blah. I have had some issues recently with Robotic sounds causing fps drops etc but found it was the HDD. After a standard windows scan and fix (& update to win 8.1) I haven't been able to open Intel RST. I thought maybe I should try to look for an SSD cache drive checker but as it doesn't show up as a drive, I'm unsure how any program can scan it.

• Apache2 can't close connections with restart

The Apache error log may have more information. failed! Occasionally it actually will restart without a problem but usually I have to killall -9 apache2 first. Someone on the Debian IRC had me check my active apache2 connections and it turns out they aren't quitting and dozens of them are staying open. How can I get these to eventually time out?

• Local Flash in Chrome pepper player won't link to internet

  I have a local .swf file in a local .html file. The flash file opens a popup window when a link is clicked. In Chrome, when I open the html file and click the button, nothing happens. Then when I go to about:plugins and disable the top Flash player (the pepper one) then try refresh and try clicking the button again, nothing happens. Then when I go to http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html and add the the folder the files are stored in to the list and refresh the page and click the button again, it opens the popup. When I re-enable the pepper flash player, and re-add the folder to the allowed list in flash (it's gone from the list now that I changed players), refresh the page and click the button again, it does nothing. I don't know why it won't open with the pepper player. I'm using Windows 7, Chrome 22.0.1229.94 m, Pepper Flash player 11.4.31.110, and regular Flash Player 11,4,402,287.
