  • MacPorts manual port location

    - by gok
I am installing one library for python from MacPorts. But macports version is older than actual development svn version. Is it possible to specify a custom location for installation in MacPorts so I could install latest library from the developer's site?

  • Is Google Maps API V3 good enough to use now?

    - by Haroldo
Firstly, only reply if you have experience using API V3 (i can speculate myself!) I had a little go with V3 and it looked great but would love to hear from someone who's given it a bit of use before I start working with it and deploy it on a live site. I'm only looking to do very basic things: put markers on a map custom markers info bubbles It all looks very easy with v3: http://www.svennerberg.com/2009/06/google-maps-api-3-the-basics/ is it stable enough?

  • Google Checkout in ASP.Net MVC

    - by MikeH
I have a fairly simple ASP.Net site that uses google checkout (I have an imagebutton with the PostBackUrl set to the Google address passing values of hidden fields) which works fine. I've been moving this app to MVC and I'm not sure how to handle this. I thought about using jQuery form but I don't believe this would work in this situation because there are times when they're redirected to the google pages. Has anyone used google checkout in an asp.net MVC app?

For example: for www.abcd.com has the extension of it's subsites as 1,2,3 etc such that www.abcd.com/1 or www.abcd.com/2 is the syntax. I would like the source to be labeled as 1.source, 2.source etc for a defined set of pages 1-100 say. Thanks for the help, Jake

  • Why are these floats wrapping in Internet Explorer?

    - by Cord Blomquist
My website, ReadyMadeWeb.com, looks great in FireFox, Safari, and Chrome, but of course IE has different plans for the floats used the in the #content area. You can see what I mean if you view the site in IE. The main column is pushed below the first sidebar. The content boxes and the de.licio.us sidebar both sit within another div. I have looked at overflow and clear settings, but changing those has not helped. Any ideas?

  • Where is Outlook's save FileDialog?

    - by matthews
I'm working on an Outlook add-in that requires the Office specific FileDialog to interoperate with a Sharepoint site; the common file dialog doesn't have the interoperability. I know that both Word and Excel have a get_fileDialog method under Globals.ThisAddIn.Application.Application, but Outlook doesn't seem to. How do I launch an Outlook FileDialog? Is it even possible?

  • Nominal Attributes in LibSVM

    - by Chris S
When creating a libsvm training file, how do you differentiate between a nominal attribute verses a numeric attribute? I'm trying to encode certain nominal attributes as integers, but I want to ensure libsvm doesn't misinterpret them as numeric values. Unfortunately, libsvm's site seems to have very little documentation. Pentaho's docs seem to imply libsvm makes this distinction, but I'm still not clear how it's made.

  • Android 2.2 - and exchange password policy enforcement

    - by Moshe
Hi, In Android 2.2 site (link text it's written: Improved security with the addition of numeric pin or alpha-numeric password options to unlock device. Exchange administrators can enforce password policy across devices But while I'm using N1 with 2.2 and try to connect to my company exchange server it didn't enforce me to set a password, although connecting to the same server from Windows Mobile 6 device enforce this. I know that exchange server is configured to enforce password. Is there anything special the administrator need to do? Thank you, Moshe

  • web analytics open source software recommendations

    - by contact-kram
What do people use to gather metrics for their site? Do you have any open source recommendations? I would like something based on php + mysql, easily extensible and in addition to getting UX usage information, I would also need to know how my product gets used in the backend. Database and web server metrics is also something I would be interested in garnering. Please advice.

  • MySQL queries - how expensive are they really?

    - by incrediman
I've heard that mysql queries are very expensive, and that you should avoid at all costs making too many of them. I'm developing a site that will be used by quite a few people, and I'm wondering: How expensive are mysql queries actually? If I have 400,000 people in my database, how expensive is it to query it for one of them? How close attention do I need to pay that I don't make too many queries per client request?

  • Py2exe, PyQt4 and Postgre Driver (QPSQL)

    - by Marshall
Hi, I`m trying to freeze my application using Py2exe. My app uses PyQt4 and it apparently works fine with py2exe. But once I`ve uninstalled PyQt, it shows the following error: QSqlDatabase: QPSQL driver not loaded QSqlDatabase: available driver: QPSQL7 QPSQL Which doesn't make sense at all. If PyQt4 is still installed, it works just fine. This is my py2exe parameters: data_files = [ ('sqldrivers', [ 'C:\Python26\Lib\site-packages\PyQt4\plugins\sqldrivers\qsqlpsql4.dll' ]) ] setup(console=["delivery.py"], options={"py2exe" : {"includes" : ["sip", "PyQt4.QtSql", "PyQt4.QtWebKit", "PyQt4.QtNetwork"]}}, data_files=data_files)

Hi, I'm developing my first ever MODx site and I need to have three blocks on the frontpage that contain headline, picture, image caption, long text and a short text. For these I would like to create a custom template that allows me to create sub-resources of "Home" with only these five fields (of which one will allow me to upload images). How can I set this up? Thanks!

Hi, I am running PortablePython_1.1_py2.6.1 on a USB stick. My code relies on some modules that are not preinstalled. Does anyone know whether it is possible to add new modules to a portable python installation? Simply copying in folders into site-lib does not seem to work.

  • Need an open source php based forum to be integrated into my custom made cms

    - by Ali
Hi guys, I've built a simple membership based website for a client - the client would like a forum integrated such that whenever a user registers on the membership site a corresponding account is created on the forums end as well etc. I checked out simple machines forums and phpBB - however I'mn not sure as to how to get this implemented. A push in the right direction would be a great help... or is there any other forum that can be easily used.
