  • Loading a UITableView From A Nib

    - by Garry
    Hi, I keep getting a crash when loading a UITableView. I am trying to use a cell defined in a nib file. I have an IBOutlet defined in the view controller header file: UITableViewCell *jobCell; @property (nonatomic, assign) IBOutlet UITableViewCell *jobCell; This is synthesised in the implementation file. I have a UITableViewCell created in IB and set it's identifier to JobCell. Here is the cellForRowAtIndexPath method: - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *cellIdentifier = @"JobCell"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:cellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { [[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:@"JobsRootViewController" owner:self options:nil]; cell = jobCell; self.jobCell = nil; } // Get this job Job *job = [fetchedResultsController objectAtIndexPath:indexPath]; // Job title UILabel *jobTitle; jobTitle = (UILabel *)[cell viewWithTag:tagJobTitle]; jobTitle.text = job.title; // Job due date UILabel *dueDate; dueDate = (UILabel *)[cell viewWithTag:tagJobDueDate]; dueDate.text = [self.dateFormatter stringFromDate:job.dueDate]; // Notes icon UIImageView *notesImageView; notesImageView = (UIImageView *)[cell viewWithTag:tagNotesImageView]; if ([job.notes length] > 0) { // This job has a note attached to it - show the notes icon notesImageView.hidden = NO; } else { // Hide the notes icon notesImageView.hidden = YES; } // Job completed button // Return the cell return cell; } When I run the app - I get a hard crash and the console reports the following: objc[1291]: FREED(id): message style sent to freed object=0x4046400 I have hooked up all the outlets in IB correctly. What is the issue? Thanks,

  • ContentControl + RenderTargetBitmap + empty image

    - by Kellls
    Im trying to create some chart images without ever displaying those charts on the screen. I'v been at this for quite a while and tried a lot of different things but nothing seems to work. The code works perfectly if I display the chart in a window first, but if I don't display it in a window, the bitmap is just white with a black border (no idea why). I have tried adding the chart to a border before rendering and giving the border a green borderBrush. In the bitmap, I see the green borderBrush then the black border and white background but no chart. I don't know where the black border is coming from as the chart is not contained in a black border. I have tried adding the chart to a window without calling window.Show() and again just the black boarder and white background. However if I call window.Show() the bitmap contains the chart. I have tried using a drawingVisual as explained here, same result. Here is the code (not including adding the element to a border or window): private static BitmapSource CreateElementScreenshot(FrameworkElement element, int dpi) { if (!element.IsMeasureValid) { Size size = new Size(element.Width, element.Height); element.Measure(size); element.Arrange(new Rect(size)); } element.UpdateLayout(); var scale = dpi/96.0; var renderTargetBitmap = new RenderTargetBitmap ( (int)(scale * element.RenderSize.Width),(int)(scale * element.RenderSize.Height),dpi,dpi,PixelFormats.Default ); // this is waiting for dispatcher to perform measure, arrange and render passes element.Dispatcher.Invoke(((Action)(() => renderTargetBitmap.Render(element))), DispatcherPriority.Render); return renderTargetBitmap; } Note: The chart is a ContentControl. Is there anyway I can get the chart to render without displaying it in a window first?

  • C# DllImport with c++ const char* not working correctly

    - by Shammah
    I have the following function in a C++ DLL extern "C" __declspec(dllexport) bool Exist(const char* name) { //if (g_Queues.find(name) != g_Queues.end()) // return true; //else // return false; return false; } Inside my C# class I have the following: [DllImport("Whisper.dll", EntryPoint="Exist", CallingConvention=CallingConvention.Cdecl)] public static extern bool Exist(string name); Yet, whenever I call my function it ALWAYS returns true, even when I commented out my little function and made it return false. I have the feeling there is something wrong with my calling convention or any other issue with P/Invoking my DLL, probably corresponding with the string and const char*, but for now I am completely clueless. What am I doing wrong? Why does it return true instead of false? EDIT: I have figured out this has nothing to do with the const char* or string, because the problem persists with an empty function. I've tried changing the calling convention between Cdecl and StdCall and neither work correctly. I've also managed to debug my DLL and it's being called correctly and does indeed return false, but once back into C# it somehow is true. Changing the CharSet also had no effect. I've made sure I've supplied my C# program with the latest and correct version of my DLL each time, so that shouldn't be an issue aswell. Again, I am completely clueless on why the result is true when I'm in fact returning false. EDIT2: SOReader provided me with a suggestion which fixes another important issue, see my comment. Sadly, it does not fix the return issue.

  • tangent of two circles

    - by harryovers
    Hello, I am trying to write some code that that will draw the line which is a tangent between 2 circles. so far i have been able to draw multiple circles, and lines between the centers. i have a class which stores the values used in drawing the circles (radius, position). what i need is a method in this class to find all posible tangents between 2 circles. any help would be great. this is what i have so far (it could very well be a load of rubbish) public static Vector2[] Tangents(circle c1, circle c2) { if (c2.radius > c1.radius) { circle temp = c1; c1 = c2; c2 = temp; } circle c0 = new circle(c1.radius - c2.radius, c1.center); Vector2[] tans = new Vector2[2]; Vector2 dir = _point - _center; float len = (float)Math.Sqrt((dir.X * dir.X) + (dir.Y * dir.Y)); float angle = (float)Math.Atan2(dir.X, dir.Y); float tan_length = (float)Math.Sqrt((len * len) - (_radius * _radius)); float tan_angle = (float)Math.Asin(_radius / len); tans[0] = new Vector2((float)Math.Cos(angle + tan_angle), (float)Math.Sin(angle + tan_angle)); tans[1] = new Vector2((float)Math.Cos(angle - tan_angle), (float)Math.Sin(angle - tan_angle)); Vector2 dir0 = c0.center - tans[0]; Vector2 dir1 = c0.center - tans[1]; Vector2 tan00 = Vector2.Add(Vector2.Multiply(tans[0], (float)c2.radius), c1.center); Vector2 tan01 = c2.center; Vector2 tan10 = Vector2.Add(Vector2.Multiply(tans[1], (float)c2.radius), c1.center); Vector2 tan11 = c2.center; }

  • Iterative Cartesian Product in Java

    - by akappa
    Hi, I want to compute the cartesian product of an arbitrary number of nonempty sets in Java. I've wrote that iterative code... public static <T> List<Set<T>> cartesianProduct(List<Set<T>> list) { List<Iterator<T>> iterators = new ArrayList<Iterator<T>>(list.size()); List<T> elements = new ArrayList<T>(list.size()); List<Set<T>> toRet = new ArrayList<Set<T>>(); for (int i = 0; i < list.size(); i++) { iterators.add(list.get(i).iterator()); elements.add(iterators.get(i).next()); } for (int j = 1; j >= 0;) { toRet.add(Sets.newHashSet(elements)); for (j = iterators.size()-1; j >= 0 && !iterators.get(j).hasNext(); j--) { iterators.set(j, list.get(j).iterator()); elements.set(j, iterators.get(j).next()); } elements.set(Math.abs(j), iterators.get(Math.abs(j)).next()); } return toRet; } ...but I found it rather inelegant. Someone has a better, still iterative solution? A solution that uses some wonderful functional-like approach? Otherwise... suggestion about how to improve it? Errors? Thanks :)

  • Problem Parsing JSON Result with jQuery

    - by senfo
    I am attempting to parse JSON using jQuery and I'm running into issues. In the code below, I'm using a static file, but I've also tested using an actual URL. For some reason, the data keeps coming back as null: <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <title>JSON Test</title> <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js"></script> <script> $.getJSON('results.json', function(data) { alert(data); // Result is always null }); </script> </head> <body> </body> </html> The JSON results look like the following: {"title":"HEALTHPOINT TYEE CAMPUS","link":"http://www.healthpointchc.org","id":"tag:datawarehouse.hrsa.gov,2010-04-29:/8357","org":"HEALTHPOINT TYEE CAMPUS","address":{"street-address":"4424 S. 188TH St.","locality":"Seatac","region":"Washington","postal-code":"98188-5028"},"tel":"206-444-7746","category":"Service Delivery Site","location":"47.4344818181818 -122.277672727273","update":"2010-04-28T00:00:00-05:00"} If I replace my URL with the Flickr API URL (http://api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne?tags=cat&tagmode=any&format=json&jsoncallback=?), I get back a valid JSON result that I am able to make use of. I have successfully validated my JSON at JSONLint, so I've run out of ideas as to what I might be doing wrong. Any thoughts?

  • Using TaskDialogIndirect in C#

    - by Dennis Delimarsky
    I've been working for a while with the regular Windows Vista/7 TaskDialog for a while, and I wanted to add some additional functionality (like custom buttons and a footer), so I need to use TaskDialogIndirect. Following the MSDN documentation for TaskDialogIndirect, I got this signature: [DllImport("comctl32.dll",CharSet = CharSet.Unicode,EntryPoint="TaskDialogIndirect")] static extern int TaskDialogIndirect (TASKDIALOGCONFIG pTaskConfig, out int pnButton, out int pnRadioButton, out bool pfVerificationFlagChecked); The TASKDIALOGCONFIG class is shown below: public class TASKDIALOGCONFIG { public UInt16 cbSize; public IntPtr hwndParent; public IntPtr hInstance; public String dwFlags; public String dwCommonButtons; public IntPtr hMainIcon; public String pszMainIcon; public String pszMainInstruction; public String pszContent; public UInt16 cButtons; public TASKDIALOG_BUTTON pButtons; public int nDefaultButton; public UInt16 cRadioButtons; public TASKDIALOG_BUTTON pRadioButtons; public int nDefaultRadioButton; public String pszVerificationText; public String pszExpandedInformation; public String pszExpandedControlText; public String pszCollapsedControlText; public IntPtr hFooterIcon; public IntPtr pszFooterText; public String pszFooter; // pfCallback; // lpCallbackData; public UInt16 cxWidth; } The TASKDIALOG_BUTTON implementation: public class TASKDIALOG_BUTTON { public int nButtonID; public String pszButtonText; } I am not entirely sure if I am on the right track here. Did anyone use TaskDialogIndirect from managed code directly through WinAPI (without VistaBridge or Windows API Code Pack)? I am curious about the possible implementations, as well as the callback declarations (I am not entirely sure how to implement TaskDialogCallbackProc). PS: I am looking for a direct WinAPI implementation, not one through a wrapper.

  • C# and SQL - sub select from a table parameter

    - by Dr.HappyPants
    Below is a code snippet for passing a table as a parameter to a query that can be used in Sql Server 2008. I'm confused though about the "SELECT id.custid FROM @custids id". Why does it use id.custid and @custids id...? private static void datatable_example() { string [] custids = {"ALFKI", "BONAP", "CACTU", "FRANK"}; DataTable custid_list = new DataTable(); custid_list.Columns.Add("custid", typeof(String)); foreach (string custid in custids) { DataRow dr = custid_list.NewRow(); dr["custid"] = custid; custid_list.Rows.Add(dr); } using(SqlConnection cn = setup_connection()) { using(SqlCommand cmd = cn.CreateCommand()) { cmd.CommandText = @"SELECT C.CustomerID, C.CompanyName FROM Northwind.dbo.Customers C WHERE C.CustomerID IN (SELECT id.custid FROM @custids id)"; cmd.CommandType = CommandType.Text; cmd.Parameters.Add("@custids", SqlDbType.Structured); cmd.Parameters["@custids"].Direction = ParameterDirection.Input; cmd.Parameters["@custids"].TypeName = "custid_list_tbltype"; cmd.Parameters["@custids"].Value = custid_list; using (SqlDataAdapter da = new SqlDataAdapter(cmd)) using (DataSet ds = new DataSet()) { da.Fill(ds); PrintDataSet(ds); } } }

  • Why does 12:20 PM parse to 0:20 on the next day?

    - by Hanno Fietz
    I'm using java.text.SimpleDateFormat to parse string representations of date/time values inside an XML document. I'm seeing all times that have an hour value of 12 shifted by 12 hours into the future, i. e. 20 minutes past noon gets parsed to mean 20 minutes past midnight the following day. I wrote a unit test which seems to confirm that the error is made upon parsing (I checked the return values from getTime() with the linux shell command date). Now I'm wondering: is there a bug in the parse() method? is there something wrong with the input string? am I using the wrong format string for the input? The input data is taken from Yahoo's YWeather service. Here's the test and its output: public class YWeatherReaderTest { public static final String[] rgDateSamples = { "Thu, 08 Apr 2010 12:20 PM CEST", "Thu, 08 Apr 2010 12:20 AM CEST" }; public void dateParsing() throws ParseException { DateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("EEE, dd MMM yyyy K:m a z", Locale.US); for (String dtsSrc : YWeatherReaderTest.rgDateSamples) { Date dt = formatter.parse(dtsSrc); String dtsDst = formatter.format(dt); System.out.println(dtsSrc); System.out.println(dtsDst); System.out.println(); } } } Thu, 08 Apr 2010 12:20 PM CEST Fri, 09 Apr 2010 0:20 AM CEST Thu, 08 Apr 2010 12:20 AM CEST Thu, 08 Apr 2010 0:20 PM CEST The second output line of the second iteration is slightly weird, because 00:20 isn't PM. The milliseconds value of the Date object, however, corresponds to the (wrong) time of 20 minutes past noon.

  • Procedure or function AppendDataCT has too many arguments specified

    - by salvationishere
    I am developing a C# VS 2008 / SQL Server website application. I am a newbie to ASP.NET. I am getting the above compiler error. Can you give me advice on how to fix this? Code snippet: public static string AppendDataCT(DataTable dt, Dictionary<int, string> dic) { string connString = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["AW3_string"].ConnectionString; string errorMsg; try { SqlConnection conn2 = new SqlConnection(connString); SqlCommand cmd = conn2.CreateCommand(); cmd.CommandText = "dbo.AppendDataCT"; cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; cmd.Connection = conn2; SqlParameter p1, p2, p3; foreach (string s in dt.Rows[1].ItemArray) { DataRow dr = dt.Rows[1]; // second row p1 = cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue((string)dic[0], (string)dr[0]); p1.SqlDbType = SqlDbType.VarChar; p2 = cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue((string)dic[1], (string)dr[1]); p2.SqlDbType = SqlDbType.VarChar; p3 = cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue((string)dic[2], (string)dr[2]); p3.SqlDbType = SqlDbType.VarChar; } conn2.Open(); cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); It errors on this last line here. And here is that SP: ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[AppendDataCT] @col1 VARCHAR(50), @col2 VARCHAR(50), @col3 VARCHAR(50) AS BEGIN SET NOCOUNT ON; DECLARE @TEMP DATETIME SET @TEMP = (SELECT CONVERT (DATETIME, @col3)) INSERT INTO Person.ContactType (Name, ModifiedDate) VALUES( @col2, @TEMP) END

  • Receiving an object in a unmanaged callback function

    - by Daniel Baulig
    Eg. I have following delegate method I want to use as a callback function with unmanaged code: public delegate void Callback(IntPtr myObject); Callback callback; I register it in the following way: [DllImport("a.dll")] public static void registerCallback(IntPtr callbackFunction, IntPtr anObject); // ... this.myObject = new MyClass(); this.objectPin = GCHandle.Alloc(this.myObject, GCHandleType.Pinned); registerCallback(Marshal.GetFunctionPointerForDelegate(callback), objectPin.AddrOfPinnedObject()); Now whenever the callback function is called it will have a Pointer/Handle of an object of the MyClass class. I could use Marshal.PtrToStructure to convert this to an object of MyClass. However, what I would like to have is that the delegate definition already contains the class MyClass. eg.: public delegate void Callback(MyClass myObject); I tried this, but it will not work. I also tried the following, which did not work: public delegate void Callback([MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.IUnknown)]MyClass myObject); I suppose I would need something like "UnmarshalAs" at this point, but sadly this is not available. Any suggestions how I could get lost of that IntPtr in my callback function and get a it packed up as a regular, managed MyClass object?

  • strategy for choosing proper object and proper method

    - by zerkms
    in the code below at first if statements block (there will be more than just "worker" condition, joined with else if) i select proper filter_object. After this in the same conditional block i select what filter should be applied by filter object. This code is silly. public class Filter { public static List<data.Issue> fetch(string type, string filter) { Filter_Base filter_object = new Filter_Base(filter); if (type == "worker") { filter_object = new Filter_Worker(filter); } else if (type == "dispatcher") { filter_object = new Filter_Dispatcher(filter); } List<data.Issue> result = new List<data.Issue>(); if (filter == "new") { result = filter_object.new_issues(); } else if (filter == "ended") { result = filter_object.ended_issues(); } return result; } } public class Filter_Base { protected string _filter; public Filter_Base(string filter) { _filter = filter; } public virtual List<data.Issue> new_issues() { return new List<data.Issue>(); } public virtual List<data.Issue> ended_issues() { return new List<data.Issue>(); } } public class Filter_Worker : Filter_Base { public Filter_Worker(string filter) : base(filter) { } public override List<data.Issue> new_issues() { return (from i in data.db.GetInstance().Issues where (new int[] { 4, 5 }).Contains(i.RequestStatusId) select i).Take(10).ToList(); } } public class Filter_Dispatcher : Filter_Base { public Filter_Dispatcher(string filter) : base(filter) { } } it will be used in some kind of: Filter.fetch("worker", "new"); this code means, that for user that belongs to role "worker" only "new" issues will be fetched (this is some kind of small and simple CRM). Or another: Filter.fetch("dispatcher", "ended"); // here we get finished issues for dispatcher role Any proposals on how to improve it?

  • WCF Discovery finds endpoint but host is "localhost"

    - by Flo
    I am trying to use the Discovery feature in WCF using http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd456783(v=VS.100).aspx as a starting point. It works fine on my machine, but then I wanted to run the service on a different machine. The service was discovered properly but the hostname of the found service is always "localhost" which is of course not much use. Service Endpoint: var endpointAddress = new EndpointAddress(new UriBuilder { Scheme = Uri.UriSchemeNetTcp, Port = port}.Uri); var endpoint = new ServiceEndpoint(ContractDescription.GetContract(typeof(IServiceInterface)), new NetTcpBinding (), endpointAddress); Client: static EndpointAddress FindServiceAddress<T>() { Stopwatch stopwatch = new Stopwatch(); stopwatch.Start(); DiscoveryClient discoveryClient = new DiscoveryClient(new UdpDiscoveryEndpoint()); // Find endpoints FindResponse findResponse = discoveryClient.Find(new FindCriteria(typeof(T))); Console.WriteLine(string.Format("Searched for {0} seconds. • [Doxygen] How to documenting global dependencies for functions?

    - by Thomas Matthews
    I've got some C code from a 3rd party vendor (for an embedded platform) that uses global variables (for speed & space optimizations). I'm documenting the code, converting to Doxygen format. How do I put a note in the function documentation that the function requires on global variables and functions? Doxygen has special commands for annotating parameters and return values as describe here: Doxygen Special Commands. I did not see any commands for global variables. Example C code: extern unsigned char data_buffer[]; //!< Global variable. /*! Returns the next available data byte. * \return Next data byte. */ unsigned char Get_Byte(void) { static unsigned int index = 0; return data_buffer[index++]; //!< Uses global variable. } In the above code, I would like to add Doxygen comments that the function depends on the global variable data_buffer.

  • miglayout: can't get right-alignment to work

    - by Jason S
    Something's not right here. I'm trying to get the rightmost button (labeled "help" in the example below) to be right-aligned to the JFrame, and the huge buttons to have their width tied to the JFrame but be at least 180px each. I got the huge button constraint to work, but not the right alignment. I thought the right alignment was accomplished by gapbefore push (as in this other SO question), but I can't figure it out. Can anyone help me? import javax.swing.JButton; import javax.swing.JFrame; import javax.swing.JPanel; import net.miginfocom.swing.MigLayout; public class RightAlignQuestion { public static void main(String[] args) { JFrame frame = new JFrame("right align question"); JPanel mainPanel = new JPanel(); frame.setContentPane(mainPanel); mainPanel.setLayout(new MigLayout("insets 0", "[grow]", "")); JPanel topPanel = new JPanel(); topPanel.setLayout(new MigLayout("", "[][][][]", "")); for (int i = 0; i < 3; ++i) topPanel.add(new JButton("button"+i), ""); topPanel.add(new JButton("help"), "gapbefore push, wrap"); topPanel.add(new JButton("big button"), "span 3, grow"); JPanel bottomPanel = new JPanel(); bottomPanel.setLayout(new MigLayout("", "[180:180:,grow][180:180:,grow]","100:")); bottomPanel.add(new JButton("tweedledee"), "grow"); bottomPanel.add(new JButton("tweedledum"), "grow"); mainPanel.add(topPanel, "grow, wrap"); mainPanel.add(bottomPanel, "grow"); frame.pack(); frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); frame.setVisible(true); } }

  • RSA example that do not use NoPadding

    - by Tom Brito
    Where can I find a RSA encrypt example that does not use "NoPadding"? --update Better: how to make this code run correctly without throw the "too much data for RSA block" exception? import java.math.BigInteger; import java.security.KeyFactory; import java.security.interfaces.RSAPrivateKey; import java.security.interfaces.RSAPublicKey; import java.security.spec.RSAPrivateKeySpec; import java.security.spec.RSAPublicKeySpec; import javax.crypto.Cipher; /** * Basic RSA example. */ public class TestRSA { public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception { byte[] input = new byte[100]; Cipher cipher = Cipher.getInstance("RSA/None/NoPadding", "BC"); KeyFactory keyFactory = KeyFactory.getInstance("RSA", "BC"); // create the keys RSAPublicKeySpec pubKeySpec = new RSAPublicKeySpec(new BigInteger("d46f473a2d746537de2056ae3092c451", 16), new BigInteger("11", 16)); RSAPrivateKeySpec privKeySpec = new RSAPrivateKeySpec(new BigInteger( "d46f473a2d746537de2056ae3092c451", 16), new BigInteger("57791d5430d593164082036ad8b29fb1", 16)); RSAPublicKey pubKey = (RSAPublicKey) keyFactory.generatePublic(pubKeySpec); RSAPrivateKey privKey = (RSAPrivateKey) keyFactory.generatePrivate(privKeySpec); // encryption step cipher.init(Cipher.ENCRYPT_MODE, pubKey); byte[] cipherText = cipher.doFinal(input); // decryption step cipher.init(Cipher.DECRYPT_MODE, privKey); byte[] plainText = cipher.doFinal(cipherText); } }

  • How can I use System.Web.Caching.Cache in a Console application?

    - by Ron Klein
    Context: .Net 3.5, C# I'd like to have caching mechanism in my Console application. Instead of re-inventing the wheel, I'd like to use System.Web.Caching.Cache (and that's a final decision, I can't use other caching framework, don't ask why). However, it looks like System.Web.Caching.Cache is supposed to run only in a valid HTTP context. My very simple snippet looks like this: using System; using System.Web.Caching; using System.Web; Cache c = new Cache(); try { c.Insert("a", 123); } catch (Exception ex) { Console.WriteLine("cannot insert to cache, exception:"); Console.WriteLine(ex); } and the result is: cannot insert to cache, exception: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at System.Web.Caching.Cache.Insert(String key, Object value) at MyClass.RunSnippet() So obviously, I'm doing something wrong here. Any ideas? Update: +1 to most answers, getting the cache via static methods is the correct usage, namely HttpRuntime.Cache and HttpContext.Current.Cache. Thank you all!

  • ORGetValue from Offline Registry - ERROR_MORE_DATA

    - by user314749
    I am trying to create an offline registry in memory using the offreg.dll provided in the windows ddk 7 package. You can find out more information on the offreg.dll here: MSDN Currently, while attempting to read a value from an open registry hive / key I receive the following error: 234 or ERROR_MORE_DATA Here is the .h code that contains ORGetValue: DWORD ORAPI ORGetValue ( __in ORHKEY Handle, __in_opt PCWSTR lpSubKey, __in_opt PCWSTR lpValue, __out_opt PDWORD pdwType, __out_bcount_opt(*pcbData) PVOID pvData, __inout_opt PDWORD pcbData ); Here is the code that I am using to pull the data [DllImport("offreg.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto, EntryPoint = "ORGetValue", SetLastError = true, CallingConvention = CallingConvention.StdCall)] public static extern uint ORGetValue(IntPtr Handle, string lpSubKey, string lpValue, out uint pdwType, out string pvData, out uint pcbData); IntPtr myHive; IntPtr myKey; string myValue; uint pdwtype; uint pcbdata; uint ret3 = ORGetValue(myKey, "", "DefaultUserName", out pdwtype, out myValue, out pcbdata); The goal is to be able to read myValue as a string. I am not sure if I need to use marshaling... or a second call with an adjusted buffer.. Or really how to adjust the buffer in C#. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • How do I use a custom authentication mechanism for a Java web application with Spring Security?

    - by Adam
    Hi, I'm working on a project to convert an existing Java web application to use Spring Web MVC. As a part of this I will migrate the existing log-on/log-off mechanism to use Spring Security. The idea at this stage is to replicate the existing functionality and replace only the web layer, leaving the service classes and objects in place. The required functionality is simple. Access is controlled to URLs and to access certain pages the user must log on. Authentication is performed with a simple username and password along with an extra static piece of information that comes from the login page. There is no notion of a role: once a user has logged on they have access to all of the pages. Behind the scenes, the service layer has a class with a simple authentication method: doAuthenticate(String username, String password, String info) throws ServiceException An exception is thrown if the login fails. I'd like to leave this existing service object that does the authentication intact but to "plug it into" the Spring Security mechanism. Can somebody suggest the best approach to take for this please? Naturally, I'd like to take the path of least resistance and leave the work where possible to Spring... Thanks in advance, Adam.
