  Are UITextFields not meant to be part of the LogicTests and instead part of the ApplicationTest target? I have a factory class that is responsible for creating and returning an (iPhone) UITextField and I'm trying to unit test it. It is part of my Logic Test target and when I try to build and run the tests, I get a build error about: /Developer/Tools/RunPlatformUnitTests.include:451:0 Test rig '/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneSimulator3.1.2.sdk/ 'Developer/usr/bin/otest' exited abnormally with code 133 (it may have crashed).   Hi, I'm sitting here for at least half an hour to find a memory leak in my code. I just replaced an synchronous call to a (touch) method with an asynchronous one using NSOperationQueue. The Leak Inspector reports a memory leak after I did the change to the code. What's wrong with the version using NSOperationQueue? I try to solve the problem by changing the zip file creation code to String[] filenames = new String[]{"MyDirectory" + "/" + "MyFile.txt"}; But, is this an eligible solution, by hard-coded the seperator? Will it work under Mac OS? (I do not have a Mac to try out)

  I'm having a proprietary image format SNG( a proprietary format) which is having a countinous array of Image data along with Image meta information in seperate HDR file. Now I need to convert this SNG format to a Standard TIFF 6.0 Format. So I studied the TIFF format i.e. about its Header, Image File Directories( IFD's) and Stripped Image Data. Now I have few concerns about this conversion. Please assist me. SNG Continous Data vs TIFF Stripped Data: Should I convert SNG Data to TIFF as a continous data in one Strip( data load/edit time problem?) OR make logical StripOffsets of the SNG Image data. SNG Data Header uses only necessary Meta Information, thus while converting the SNG to TIFF, some information can’t be retrieved such as NewSubFileType, Software Tag etc. So this raises a concern that after conversion whether any missing directory information such as NewSubFileType, Software Tag etc is necessary and sufficient condition for TIFF File. Encoding of each pixel component of RGB Sample in SNG data: Here each SNG Image Data Strip per Pixel component is encoded as: Out^[i] := round( LineBuffer^[i * 3] * **0.072169** + LineBuffer^[i * 3 + 1] * **0.715160** + LineBuffer^[i * 3+ 2]* **0.212671**); Only way I deduce from it is that each Pixel is represented with 3 RGB component and some coefficient is multiplied with each component to make the SNG Viewer work RGB color information of SNG Image Data. (Developer who earlier work on this left, now i am following the trace :)) Thus while converting this to TIFF, the decoding the same needs to be done.   I am trying to get the jQuery autocomplete plugin to take a local JSON variable as input. Once the user has selected one option from the autocomplete list, I want the adjacent address fields to be autopopulated. I'm supposing that the server output is in ASCII so how do I adapt the output so it appears correctly in the console?

• Haystack / Whoosh Index Generation Error

  I'm trying to setup haystack with whoosh backend. When i try to gen the index [or any index command for that matter] i receive: TypeError: Item in ``from list'' not a string if i completely remove my search_indexes.py i get the same error [so i'm guessing it can't find that file at all] what might cause this error? it's set to autodiscover and i'm sure my app is installed because i'm currently using it. • How do I correctly install dulwich to get hg-git working on Cygwin?

  I have a similar issue as in this issue, but in my case I am trying to use cygwin. First I followed the instructions here, and I ran: $ easy_install hg-git The I created ~/.hgrc, with: [extensions] hgext.bookmarks = hggit = Then when I typed 'hg' at a command prompt, I'd see: "* failed to import extension hggit: No module named hggit" So I did a search for "hggit" and found /cygdrive/c/Python26/Lib/site-packages/hg_git-0.2.1-py2.6.egg/hggit, so I updated .hgrc: [extensions] hgext.bookmarks = hggit = /cygdrive/c/Python26/Lib/site-packages/hg_git-0.2.1-py2.6.egg/hggit Then when I type 'hg' I get "No module named dulwich.errors" If you read this question, it's the same problem. • Is this a good approach to address double-base64-encoding?

  My software understands attachments, like PNGs attached to user records. These attachments are usually sent in from outside sources as a Base64 encoded string. The database stores whatever data it is given, Base64 encoded or not. When I serve up the attachment for download I do this: if (Base64.isBase64(data)) { data = Base64.decodeBase64(data); } There is a potential for data that is double encoded. For instance the sender of a message had base64 encoded data, then encoded it again when building the message to send to me. I think the following code would address that circumstance: while (Base64.isBase64(data)) { data = Base64.decodeBase64(data); } So if data is encoded multiple times, it would be decoded until its in its 'raw' state and then served up for download. Is this approach an acceptable way to address that problem? Ideally some sort of checking could happen at the edge when I receive attachment data, but that will take more time. This looping seems to be a faster way to do it. The 'Base64' library is Apache Commons: http://commons.apache.org/codec/apidocs/org/apache/commons/codec/binary/Base64.html I trust it to properly identify Base64 encoded data.

• Can't change pivot table's Access data source - bug in Excel 2000 SP3?

  I have a set of Excel 2000 SP3 worksheets that have Pivot Tables that get data from an Access 2000 SP3 database created by a contractor who left our company. Unfortunately, he did all his work on his private area on the company (Novell) network and now that he has left us, the drive spec has been deleted and is invalid. We were able to get the database files restored to our network area by our IT Service Desk people, but we now have to re-link everything to point to our group area instead of the now-nonexistent private area. If I follow the advice given elsewhere on this site (open wizard, click 'Back' to get to 'Step 2 of 3', click 'Get Data...' I get a message that the old filespec is an invalid path and I need to check that the path name is invalid and that I am connected to the server on which the file resides. I then click on OK and get a Login dialog with a 'Database...' button on the right. I click this and get a 'Select Database' dialog which allows me to choose the appropriate database in its correct new location. I then click OK, which takes me back to the 'Login' screen. I can confirm that it has accepted my new location by clicking on 'Database...' as before and the NEW location is still shown. So far so good - but if I then click on OK I get two unhelpful messages - first I get one saying that Excel 'Could not use '|'; file already in use.' - although no other files are in use. Clicking on OK takes me back to the 'Login' dialog. Clicking OK again gives me the same message as before telling me that the OLD filespec is invalid (as if I hadn't changed anything) - but clicking on the 'Database...' button shows that the correct (NEW) database location is still selected. Can anyone tell me a way of using VBA to change the link information without having to spend hours fighting the PivotTable Wizard - preferably similar to this way you update an Access Tabledef:- db.TableDefs(strLinkName).Connect = strNewLink db.TableDefs(strLinkName).RefreshLink Thanks!

  Made a custom ListCellRenderer: import java.awt.Component; import javax.swing.JCheckBox; import javax.swing.JLabel; import javax.swing.JList; import javax.swing.JPanel; import javax.swing.ListCellRenderer; /** * * @author Spencer */ public class TaskRenderer implements ListCellRenderer { private Task task; private JPanel panel = new JPanel(); private JCheckBox checkbox = new JCheckBox(); private JLabel label = new JLabel(); public TaskRenderer() { panel.add(checkbox); panel.add(label); } public Component getListCellRendererComponent( JList list, Object value, int index, boolean isSelected, boolean cellHasFocus) { task = (Task) value; label.setText(task.getName()); return panel; } } Have a JList with each cell in it rendered using the above class, but the checkboxes in the panels for each cell cannot be clicked. • What Qt container class to use for a sorted list?

  Part of my application involves rendering audio waveforms. The user will be able to zoom in/out of the waveform. Starting at fully zoomed-out, I only want to sample the audio at the necessary internals to draw the waveform at the given resolution. Then, when they zoom in, asynchronously resample the "missing points" and provide a clearer waveform. (Think Google Maps.) I'm not sure the best data structure to use in Qt world. Ideally, I would like to store data samples sorted by time, but with the ability to fill-in points as needed. So, for example, the data points might initially look like: data[0 ms] = 10 data[10 ms] = 32 data[20 ms] = 21 ... But when they zoom in, I would get more points as necessary, perhaps: data[0 ms] = 10 data[2 ms] = 11 data[4 ms] = 18 data[6 ms] = 30 data[10 ms] = 32 data[20 ms] = 21 ... Note that the values in brackets are lookup values (milliseconds), not array indices. In .Net I might have used a SortedList<int, int>. What would be the best class to use in Qt? Or should I use a STL container?

• Kohana 3 ORM: How to get data from pivot table? and all other tables for that matter

  I am trying to use ORM to access data stored, in three mysql tables 'users', 'items', and a pivot table for the many-many relationship: 'user_item' I followed the guidance from http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1946357/kohana-3-orm-read-additional-columns-in-pivot-tables and tried $user = ORM::factory('user',1); $user->items->find_all(); $user_item = ORM::factory('user_item', array('user_id' => $user, 'item_id' => $user->items)); if ($user_item->loaded()) { foreach ($user_item as $pivot) { print_r($pivot); } } But I get the SQL error: "Unknown column 'user_item.id' in 'order clause' [ SELECT user_item.* FROM user_item WHERE user_id = '1' AND item_id = '' ORDER BY user_item.id ASC LIMIT 1 ]" Which is clearly erroneous because Kohana is trying to order the elements by a column which doesn't exist: user_item.id. This id doesnt exist because the primary keys of this pivot table are the foreign keys of the two other tables, 'users' and 'items'. Trying to use: $user_item = ORM::factory('user_item', array('user_id' => $user, 'item_id' => $user->items)) ->order_by('item_id', 'ASC'); Makes no difference, as it seems the order_by() or any sql queries are ignored if the second argument of the factory is given. Another obvious error with that query is that the item_id = '', when it should contain all the elements. So my question is how can I get access to the data stored in the pivot table, and actually how can I get access to the all items held by a particular user as I even had problems with that? Thanks

• How Do I make a simple .htaccess internal redirect Catch All script while forwarding POST data?

  I just want to catch all requests and forward them internally to my catchall page with all POST data intact Catch all page: http://www.mydomain.com/addons/redirect/catch-all.php I've tried so many combinations, but my server doesn't want to redirect internally if I specify more than catch-all.php # Internally redirect all pages to "Catch" page Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteRule (.*) /addons/redirect/catch-all.php [L] Also, do I need [L] or is it useless for internal redirects? Then, what php code would I use to grab the POST data, use it, and finally PHP redirect the page to the originally requested page Would it be done just as normal by using $_POST['variable_name']; or something different? Then, how would I go about calling the originally requested page, so I can tell PHP to header location direct them to that page? Thanks! UPDATE: Ha sick, nevermind. The condition DOES work. • How can I stop an auto-generated Linq to SQL class from loading ALL data?

I have an ASP.NET MVC project, much like the NerdDinner tutorial example. (I'm using MVC 2, but followed the NerdDinner tutorial in order to create it). As per the instructions in part 3 of the tutorial, I've created a Linq-to-SQL model of my database by creating a "Linq to SQL Classes" (.dbml) surface, and dropping my database tables onto it. The designer has automatically added relationships between the generated classes based on my database tables. Let's say that my classes are as per the NerdDinner example, so I have Dinner and RSVP tables, where each Dinner record is associated with many RSVP records - hence in the generated classes, the Dinner object has a RSVPs property which is a list of RSVP objects. My problem is this: it appears (and I'd be gladly proved wrong on this) that as soon as I access a Dinner object, it's loading all of the corresponding RSVP objects, even if I don't use the RSVPs member. First question: is this really the default behavior for the generated classes? In my particular situation, the object graph contains many more tables (which have an order of magnitude more records), and so this is disastrous behaviour - I'd be loading tons of data when all I want to do is show the details of a single parent record. Second question: are there any properties exposed through the designer UI that would let me modify this behavior? (I can't find any). Third question: I've seen a description of how to control the loading of related records in a DataContext by using a DataShape object associated with the DataContext. Is that what I'm meant to do, and if so are there any tutorials like the NerdDinner one that would show not only how to do it, but also suggest a 'pattern' for normal use?

• Django: How can I delete a formset entry if one of it's data is blank?

  Hi, I have the following scenario: I have a form with data that does not need translation and a formset with a textfield that should be translated into an undefined amount of languages. Both parts are bound to a model. Each translated text is kept in a model with a foreign key that binds it to the untranslatable data. Something like: class Person(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=60) birth_date = models.DateField() class PersonBio(models.Model): person = models.ForeignKey(Person) locale = models.CharField(max_length=10) bio = models.TextField() Each form in the formset has 2 fields: A textfield (with the translated text) A locale field (with the language into which the text was translated) I've got it working with no problems until I tryed to change it's normal behaviour. I wanted to eliminate the need for the DELETE field by deleting an instance of the translated text if the textfield was left blank. I've googled quite a lot now and read the whole documentation for forms, formsets and model validation but had no luck. To be honest, I couldn't even think of a solution. Where should I implement this? On a Form clean() method? On the view? Somewhere in the Fieldset? Fieldset's save() method, maybe? I'll keep trying to find a way to do that, but any help/tip/clue is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
