  • Glib segfault g_free hash table

    - by Mike
    I'm not quite sure why if I try to free the data I get segfault. Any help will be appreciate it. static GHashTable *hashtable; static void add_inv(char *q) { gpointer old_key, old_value; if(!g_hash_table_lookup_extended(hashtable, q, &old_key, &old_value)){ g_hash_table_insert(hashtable, g_strdup(q), GINT_TO_POINTER(10)); }else{ (old_value)++; g_hash_table_insert(hashtable, g_strdup(q), old_value); g_hash_table_remove (hashtable, q); // segfault g_free(old_key); // segfault g_free(old_value); // segfault } } ... int main(int argc, char *argv[]){ hashtable = g_hash_table_new(g_str_hash, g_str_equal); ... g_hash_table_destroy(hashtable); }

  • My view is displaying y=-20 dispite its frame set to y=0. After rotation it snaps back to y=0

    - by jamone
    I started by creating a universal window based app. Starting with the iPhone version I created a UIViewController and associated nib. My App delegate: rootViewController = [[RootViewController alloc] initWithNibName:nil bundle:nil]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; [window addSubview:rootViewController.view]; return YES; My RootViewController: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; adBannerView = [[ADBannerView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero]; [self.view addSubview:adBannerView]; } I've tried instanciating buttons instead of the adBanner and I get the same result. My RootViewController's nib has not been changed since x-code created it for me. My MainWindow_iPhone.xib also is stock. What's causing this?

  • How do I keep a scanner from throwing exceptions when the wrong type is entered? (java)

    - by David
    Here's some sample code: import java.util.Scanner; class In { public static void main (String[]arg) { Scanner in = new Scanner (System.in) ; System.out.println ("how many are invading?") ; int a = in.nextInt() ; System.out.println (a) ; } } if i run the program and give it an int like 4then everything goes fine. if, on the other hand, i answer too many it doesn't laugh at my funny joke. instead i get this: (as expected) Exception in thread "main" java.util.InputMismatchException at java.util.Scanner.throwFor(Scanner.java:819) at java.util.Scanner.next(Scanner.java:1431) at java.util.Scanner.nextInt(Scanner.java:2040) at java.util.Scanner.nextInt(Scanner.java:2000) at In.main(In.java:9) is there a way so that i can make it so that it either ignores entries that aren't ints or re prompts with "how many are invading?"? i'd like to know how to do both of these.

  • When should I open and close a connection to SQL Server

    - by Martin
    I have a simple static class with a few methods in it. Each of those methods open a SqlConnection, query the database and close the connection. This way, I am sure that I always close the connection to the database, but on the other hand, I don't like to always open and close connection. Below is an example of what my methods look like. public static void AddSomething(string something) { using (SqlConnection connection = new SqlConnection("...")) { connection.Open(); // ... connection.Close(); } } Considering that the methods are inside a static class, should I have a static member containing a single SqlConnection? How and when should I drop it? What are the best practices?

  • Custom Validator and specifying type of message

    - by user102533
    I have a custom validation in the enterprise validation block. The DoValidate method is as shown below. protected override void DoValidate(Double objectToValidate, object currentTarget, string key, ValidationResults validationResults) { if (!IsSalMoreThanMinWage(objectToValidate)) { //Here I need to mark this message as a "Warning" LogValidationResult(validationResults, "Salary is too low for this state", currentTarget, key); } } I'd need to mark this validation failure as a "warning" message. In the front end, when I iterate through the ValidationResults collection and grab a ValidationResult object, I would need to identify and group different types of messages and render them differently. My question is - how do I mark a failure as a warning?

  • Working with iPhone OS 3.2 only classes

    - by user324881
    How would you write a universal app that uses classes introduced in iPhone OS 3.2, such as UIPopoverController and UISplitViewController? On Jeff LaMarche's blog about this, Ole provides a method for instantiating these objects; you would instantiate a UIPopoverController like so: [NSClassFromString(@"UIPopoverController") alloc]. This is fine for instantiating these classes in code but what about protocols and their methods? My iPad app uses a UISplitViewController and has a class that needs to conform to the UISplitViewControllerDelegate and UIPopoverControllerDelegate. How would you declare this? And how would you work with a method such as the following? - (void)splitViewController:(UISplitViewController *)svc willHideViewController:(UIViewController *)aViewController withBarButtonItem:(UIBarButtonItem *)barButtonItem forPopoverController:(UIPopoverController *)pc where the method call requires UISplitViewController to be passed in?

  • Setting current culture with threads in ASP.NET MVC

    - by mare
    Here's an example of SetCulture attribute which inside does something like this: public void OnActionExecuting(ActionExecutingContext filterContext) { string cultureCode = SetCurrentLanguage(filterContext); if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(cultureCode)) return; HttpContext.Current.Response.Cookies.Add( new HttpCookie("Culture", cultureCode) { HttpOnly = true, Expires = DateTime.Now.AddYears(100) } ); filterContext.HttpContext.Session["Culture"] = cultureCode; CultureInfo culture = new CultureInfo(cultureCode); System.Threading.Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture = culture; System.Threading.Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture = culture; } I was wondering how does this affect a site with multiple users logged on and each one setting their own culture? What is the scope of a thread here with regards to the IIS worker process (w3wp) that the site is running in?

  • Combining SpecFlow table and Moq mocked object

    - by Confused
    I have a situation where I want to use a mocked object (using Moq) so I can create setup and expectations, but also want to supply some of the property values using the SpecFlow Table. Is there a convenient way to create a mock and supply the table for the seed values? // Specflow feature Scenario Outline: MyOutline Given I have a MyObject object as | Field | Value | | Title | The Title | | Id | The Id | // Specflow step code Mock<MyObject> _myMock; [Given(@"I have a MyObject object as")] public void GivenIHaveAMyObjectObjectAs(Table table) { var obj = table.CreateInstance<MyObject>(); _myMock = new Mock<MyObject>(); // How do I easily combine the two? }

  • DataTable Delete Row and AcceptChanges

    - by Pang
    DataTable DT num type name =================================== 001 A Peter 002 A Sam 003 B John public static void fun1(ref DataTable DT, String TargetType) { for (int i = 0; i < DT.Rows.Count; i++) { string type = DT.Rows[i]["type"]; if (type == TargetType) { /**Do Something**/ DT.Rows[i].Delete(); } } DT.AcceptChanges(); } My function get specific data rows in datatable according to the TargetType and use their info to do something. After the datarow is read (match the target type), it will be deleted. However, the row is deleted immediately after .Delete() execute, so the location of the next row (by i) is incorrect. For example, if TargetType is A. When i=0, the "Peter" row is deleted after .Delete executed. Then when i=1, I suppose it will locate the "Sam" row but it actually located "John" row because "Peter" row is deleted. Is there any problem in my codes?

  • issue writing to spreadsheet using EPPlus

    - by Andy
    I'm simply trying to edit a spreadsheet that has text already written into to change the text to be blank. However its not working. the method seems to do nothing. my code is: public static void ClearCells(string SpreadsheetFilePath) { var SpreadsheetPath = new FileInfo(SpreadsheetFilePath); var package = new ExcelPackage(SpreadsheetPath); ExcelWorkbook workBook = package.Workbook; if (workBook != null) { if (workBook.Worksheets.Count > 0) { ExcelWorksheet currentWorksheet = workBook.Worksheets.First(); currentWorksheet.SetValue(1, 1, "hello123"); } } } There is no runtime error. It runs, completes and the spreadsheet is unchanged. I don't know why.

  • Code jumps out of a jar and runs? What is causing this?

    - by Mike
    I am trying to get a sample program working with JUNG, a graphing tool in Java. I downloaded and referenced all the .jar files in eclipse so my project hierarchy looks like this: In Test.java I have the following code: public class Test { static public void main() { System.out.print("Hello"); }} For some reason though when I try to run it as a Java Application by right clicking on Jung test in the project hierarchy I am presented with a bunch of classes. My Test.java isn't on the list so if I just leave it as ** and press ok it starts running a program that is dynamically adding nodes and vertexes to a graph. I can't seem to figure out what code its actually executing. I know java but stuff like this with the jar files seems to be getting lost on me. Any ideas? Thanks

  • How to check function parameters in Go

    - by deamon
    Guava Preconditions allows to check method parameters in Java easily. public void doUsefulThings(Something s, int x, int position) { checkNotNull(s); checkArgument(x >= 0, "Argument was %s but expected nonnegative", x); checkElementIndex(position, someList.size()); // ... } These check methods raise exceptions if the conditions are not met. Go has no exceptions but indicates errors with return values. So I wonder how an idiomatic Go version of the above code would look like.

  • C# simpler run time generics

    - by Hellfrost
    Is there a way to invoke a generic function with a type known only at run time? I'm trying to do something like: static void bar() { object b = 6; string c = foo<typeof(b)>(); } static string foo<T>() { return typeof (T).Name; } Basically I want to decide on the type parameter only at run time, but the function I'm calling depends on the type parameter. Also I know this can be done with reflections... but it's not the nicest solution to the problem... I'm sort of looking for dynamic features in C#...

  • WCF DataContract class with methods

    - by jmlaplante
    This is more of a philosophical/best-practice sort of question rather than a technical problem. Are there any strong arguments against writing a DataContract class with methods that are to be used server-side only? Or what about additional properties that are not decorated with the DataMember attribute? For example: [DataContract] public class LogEntry { [DataMember] public string Message { get; set; } [DataMember] public string Severity { get; set; } public string SomeOtherProperty { get; set; } ... public void WriteToDatabase() { ... } } Not doing it seems like an awful lot of extra work that I would prefer to avoid, although using extension methods could make it easier. But, as a good developer, I am wondering if it is bad practice to do so.

  • New to C# and trying to use a global variable

    - by Andrew G. Johnson
    Is it possible to use global variables in C#? I'm coming from mainly a PHP background so variables are either accessible everywhere or just a global definition away. My main issue is I have a User class that I built myself to wrap around the current users table on my company's database. I am defining it in the MasterPage but can't seem to access it from the actual pages (I don't know if there's a better word to describe them but they are the pages that inherit the styles and format from the MasterPage) Any general tips or implementation practices for me? EDIT: here's some code snippets of what I'm trying to do: Site.master.cs public partial class SiteMaster : System.Web.UI.MasterPage { public User user = new User(); } logout.aspx <%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Site.master" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="logout.aspx.cs" Inherits="logout" %> <%@ MasterType virtualPath="~/Site.master"%> logout.aspx.cs public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { User user = Master.user; } }

  • Where should I put code that is supposed to fire AFTER the view has loaded?

    - by Timbo
    I’m writing an objective-c program that does some calculations based on time and will eventually updates UILabels each second. To explain the concept here’s some simplified code, which I’ve placed into the viewDidLoad of the class that handles the view. (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; // how do i make this stuff happen AFTER the view has loaded?? int a = 1; while (a < 10) { NSLog(@"doing something"); a = a + 1; sleep(1); } } My problem is that the code halts the loading of the view until the loop is all complete (in this case 10 seconds). Where should I put code that I want to fire AFTER the view has finished loading? newbie question I know =/

  • Why can't I reclaim my dynamically allocated memory using the "delete" keyword?

    - by synaptik
    I have the following class: class Patient { public: Patient(int x); ~Patient(); private: int* RP; }; Patient::Patient(int x) { RP = new int [x]; } Patient::~Patient() { delete [] RP; } I create an instance of this class on the stack as follows: void f() { Patient p(10); } Now, when f() returns, I get a "double free or corruption" error, which signals to me that something is attempted to be deleted more than once. But I don't understand why that would be so. The space for the array is created on the heap, and just because the function from inside which the space was allocated returns, I wouldn't expect the space to be reclaimed. I thought that if I allocate space on the heap (using the new keyword), then the only way to reclaim that space is to use the delete keyword. Help! :)

  • Detect second tap on tableview cell iphone sdk

    - by neha
    Hi all, In my application, I'm expanding a tableview row when it's tapped. I'm using - (void)setSelected:(BOOL)selected animated:(BOOL)animated { [super setSelected:selected animated:animated]; if( selected == YES ) { [self expandRow]; } else { [self contractRow]; } height = [lblFeed frame].size.height + 75; } to achieve that. So when a row is tapped, this function automatically gets the signal of row tap and it sets the selected=YES. Now when I tap the same expanded row, it still sets selected=YES. I want to detect the second tap and contract the row. How shall I do that while using the same function?

  • Arrays- Square root of an Array and printing the result JAVA

    - by roger34
    Hello, The title says it all, really. I'm trying to get an array of (9) numbers squared then printed but I keep coming back with only one result - the number of numbers in the array squared- obviously not what I want. Thanks for any help. Ok, here is my terrible code so far. Trying to pass it to a method as well. public static void main ( String args[] ) { double[] nums = {126, 12.939, 795, 320.16, 110, 34.7676, 7773, 67, 567, 323}; System.out.println ("Square root is " +square); square(nums); } public static double square (double [] array) { double result; for( double i = 0; i < array.length ; i++ ) result = Math.sqrt(array[i]); return result; } }

  • convert int to string for use in allegro function

    - by ace
    I am trying to run the following code using allegro. textout_ex(screen, font, numbComments , 100, 100, GREEN, BLACK); numbComments is an integer, the function prototype of this function is void textout_ex(BITMAP *bmp, const FONT *f, const char *s, int x, int y, int color, int bg); and i cannot, according to my understanding pass this integer in the third position. I therefore need to convert the integer into a string. I did it like this, but it didnt work. Help please? int score = numbComments; string Str; stringstream out; // YOU MUST INCLUDE <sstream> FOR THIS. out << score; Str = out.str(); and then tried to use the string Str, which didnt work
