• How can i navigate one xaml page to another?

• Toolbar items in sub-nib

  This question has probably been asked before, but my google-fu must be inferior to everybody else's, cause I can't figure this out. I'm playing around with the iPhone SDK, and I'm building a concept app I've been thinking about. If we have a look at the skeleton generated with a navigation based app, the MainWindow.xib contains a navigation controller, and within that a root-view controller (and a navigation bar and toolbar if you play around with it a little). The root-view controller has the RootViewController-nib associated with it, which loads the table-view. So far so good. To add content to the tool bar and to the navigation bar, I'm supposed to add those to in the hierarchy below the Root View Controller (which works, no problem). However, what I can't figure out is, this is all still within the MainWindow.xib (or, at runtime, nib). How would I define a xib in order for it to pick up tool bar items from that? I want to do (the equivalent of, just reusing the name here) RootViewController *controller = [[RootViewController alloc] initWithNibName:nil bundle:nil]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:controller animated:YES]; [controller release]; and have the navigation controller pick-up on the tool bar items defined in that nib. The logical place to put it would be in the hierarchy under File's Owner (which is of type RootViewController), but it doesn't appear to be possible. Currently, I'm assigning these (navigationItem and toolbarItems) manually in the viewDidLoad method, or define them in the MainWindow.xib directly to be loaded when the app initializes. Any ideas? Edit I guess I'll try to explain with a picture. This is the Interface Builder of the main window, pretty much as it comes out of the wizard to create a navigation based project. I've added a toolbar item for clarity though. You can see the navigation controller, with a toolbar and a navigation bar, and the root view controller. Basically, the Root View Controller has a bar button item and a navigation item as you can see. The thing is, it's also got a nib associated with it, which, when loaded will instantiate a view, and assign it to the view outlet of the controller (which in that nib is File's Owner, of type RootViewController, as should be). How can I get the toolbar item, and the navigation item, into the other nib, the RootViewController.nib so I can remove them here. The RootViewController.nib adds everything else to the Root View Controller, why not these items? The background for this is that I want to simply instantiate RootViewController, initialize it with its own nib (i.e. initWithNibName:nil shown above), and push it onto the navigation controller, without having to add the navigation/toolbar items in coding (as I do it now).

  On the select event of the datepicker I need to add and set values in multiple rows. In other words, I have something like this... Days Value Row 1 1 Row 2 2 Row 3 3 I have the "Days" and "Value" columns as textboxes. When I select a date from the datepicker I need to add the "Days" value for each row to the date selected. That value is what goes into the "Value" column. Example, I select 4/20/2010. The value in each respective row would then be 4/21/2010, 4/22/2010, 4/23/2010. Hopefully this makes sense and thank you for the help in advance.

• software package disappeared in GPO after access rights change

  Hi, in GPO, this item Computer > Software settings > Assigned applications > IE8_package was on Security tab set "Authenticated users" to "Deny". After that it disappeared from GPO, it is there, but nowhere shown. The intention was to disable installation of that package for now, yet having other packages in that GPO still installed. I know it was stupid decision now. Is there any way to display that package back? Please help.

• Picasa “sync to web” folders do not stay in sync

  I have multiple folders from the Picasa software that were moved to my Google+ profile using the "sync to web" feature. At some point I noticed that some of these folders were on Google+ and had the green upload arrow in Picasa, however the "sync to web" option was disabled. I tried to re-enable the "sync to web" option and it starts loading but after a few seconds the "sync to web" option is back to disabled. I get no error message, it just switches back to disable. Is there any way I could leave the option enabled? Out of around 80 something albums synced to Google+ only 3-4 are not able to have the "sync to web" option enabled. Thanks.

• Google Closure Library - Adding non-TreeNode children to a TreeNode

  Hi, I'm using the Google Closure Library and goog.ui.tree in particular to build a tree structure GUI component. It works pretty well out of the box, but I'd like to add a few extra controls to each of the leaves (goog.ui.Checkboxes in particular). The problem is that Component.addChild has been overridden in BaseNode so that each added child is treated as a child tree node as opposed to a child component. In effect plenty of errors are thrown if you try to add anything else than an actual tree node as a child, as these children are traversed and BaseNode-specific functions are called on them. I must admit I'm quite a Closure newb, but I reckon there must be some workaround for this, right? Essentially all I want to do is have a bunch of checkboxes appear next to each leaf in my tree.   I've been writing some simple webparts, and they communicate via a custom interface type. That's working fine. I've got one ConnectionProvider, with a variety of ConnectionConsumers. I see that the OOTB SharePoint webparts provide many standard connections, apparently through IWebPartField and IWebPartRow (IWebPartData seems less supported). I've tried to add a IWebPartRow interface to a provider, and found that it's not actually useful (apparently), unless it's shareing data that the OOTB components use, such as images, urls and users. Well, that's the impression I got, anyway... I've only done a quick experiment, and found it quite difficult to implement and test. Is there any point in spending time trying to add support for the standard webpart interfaces?

  I'll try to explain what Im after. I dont know the technical term for it, so here goes: Example 1: If I place a LisView on a Form and add som columns I am able, in Design-Time, to click-and-drag the columns to resize them. Example 2: Now, I place a ListView in a UserControl and name it "MyCustomListView" (and perhaps add some method to enhance it somehow). If I know place the "MyCustomListView" on a Form I am unable to click-and-drag the column headers to resize them in Design-Time. Is there any way to easily make that happen? Some form of "pass the click-and-drag event to the underlying control and let that control do its magic". Im not really looking to recode, just pass on the mouseclick (or whatever it is) and let the, in this case, ListView react as it did in the first example above. Regards

While it does work with respect to basic auth, other directives like proxy_pass are not in effect on /api/ as well. Is it possible to just disable basic auth while retaining the other directives without copy&pasting everything?

  I have a Store and a Product entity: public class Store { public Guid Id { get; set; } public int Version { get; set; } public ISet<Product> Products { get; set; } } public class Product { public Guid Id { get; set; } public int Version { get; set; } public Store ParentStore { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } } In other words, I have a Store that can contain multiple Products in a bidirectional one-to-many relationship. I'm sending data back and forth between a web browser and a web service. The following steps emulates the communication between the two, using session-per-request. I first save a new instance of a Store: using (new SessionScope()) { // this is data from the browser var store = new Store { Id = Guid.Empty }; ActiveRecordMediator.SaveAndFlush(store); } Then I grab the store out of the DB, add a new product to it, and then save it: using (new SessionScope()) { // this is data from the browser var product = new Product { Id = Guid.Empty, Name = "Apples" }); var store = ActiveRecordLinq.AsQueryable<Store>().First(); store.Products.Add(product); ActiveRecordMediator.SaveAndFlush(store); } Up to this point, everything works well. Now I want to update the Product I just saved: using (new SessionScope()) { // data from browser var product = new Product { Id = Guid.Empty, Version = 1, Name = "Grapes" }; var store = ActiveRecordLinq.AsQueryable<Store>().First(); store.Products.Add(product); // throws exception on this call ActiveRecordMediator.SaveAndFlush(store); } When I try to update the product, I get the following exception: a different object with the same identifier value was already associated with the session: 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000, of entity:Product" As I understand it, the problem is that when I get the Store out of the database, it also gets the Product that's associated with it. Both entities are persistent. Then I tried to save a transient Product (the one that has the updated info from the browser) that has the same ID as the one that's already associated with the session, and an exception is thrown. However, I don't know how to get around this problem. If I could get access to a NHibernate.ISession, I could call ISession.Merge() on it, but it doesn't look like ActiveRecordMediator has anything similar (SaveCopy threw the same exception). Does anyone know the solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  Using Visual Source Safe with IIS integration (the working dir is the IIS site) Visual Studio, pointed to the IIS site would load up the Web project. It would be under VSS control (have to check out files, etc). Recently, we had to switch to Integrated Security for our database connections from the web app. This means changing the impersonation of the IIS app pool (and anon authentication) to the impersonated account. Since I did this -- my project loads in Visual Studio, but it acts as if I'm not me, and the files aren't under source control anymore. I'm going to assume it's something with the pass-through from IIS to the VSS (as if you'll remember you had to add IIS_USERS to the VSS list of users). Even trying to add the impersonated account didn't work. Any ideas?

  I'm testing my site with Google PageSpeed and YSlow and the bundles that i've created with MVC4 bundles aren't getting Gzipped (Compressing resources with gzip or deflate can reduce the number of bytes sent over the network) and there is no Vary: Accept-Encoding header (Instructs proxy servers to cache two versions of the resource: one compressed, and one uncompressed. This helps avoid issues with public proxies that do not detect the presence of a Content-Encoding header properly.) And also how can i add encoding header for the whole scripts folder on the ISS. I know there is HTTP Response Headers, then Add Custom HTTP Response Header, but will this work on the whole scripts folders and subfolders and what to put in the Name and Value fields. How can this be solved. Regards.

• django url matching with Lighttpd fastcgi

  I have a problem with url. I can access the djando app home page ( localhost/djangotest/ ) but can't access the admin section ( localhost/djangotest/admin/ ). I can access it using the django server instead of lighttpd.   Hey guys I have a problem with an app Im making. The thing is I want to add it some background music, but I just want to add it in the main view. My app has 3 view controllers: Main View Controller, Second View Controller and Third View Controller. What I want is to start the music in the Main View Controller and stop it when the Third View Controller is presented. • Custom message headers in WCF on Mono

  I'm making WCF calls from a Mono client running on Ubuntu (Mono 2.6). I can't seem to add a custom header to my messages. I have tried two different ways: Using a [MessageContract] and [MessageHeader] attributes on a custom class Adding the header to the outgoing messages programmatically, e.g. MessageHeader mhg = new MessageHeader("test"); MessageHeader untyped = mhg.GetUntypedHeader("token", "ns"); OperationContext.Current.OutgoingMessageHeaders.Add(untyped); The header is not there when the call reaches the server! It's always null. Note that both methods work fine running on .NET in Windows. Also note that the message body gets through just fine on Mono. I see some references online that suggest this should work: http://forums.monotouch.net/yaf_postsm1692.aspx https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=551745 Also - the Mono status page shows that all the MessageHeader stuff is fully implemented... • Silverlight DataGrid Refresh Between Xaml Files

  Hello, I have a Page.xaml file and a AddNewProject.xaml. In the Page.xaml file I have a ProjectDetailsDataGrid and a button to add a new Project. When I click on the Add New Project button the AddNewProject.xaml file becomes visible for the user to enter new project information. I am having a problem trying to refresh the ProjectDetailsDataGrid (on the Page.xaml page) to display the new info. entered from the AddNewProject.xaml page. Is there anyway to accomplish refreshing a datagrid between two seperate xaml files? Thank you for your help.
