First tab doesnt show with Jquery UI Tabs using Cufon

I'm using Cufon to render the font for my Jquery Tabs. A strange problem I'm finding is that with the first tab, the text isn't rendered. If I remove Cufon, the text is there, or if I remove jquery tabs (so that its just html list items) the text is there (properly rendered by cufon). There seems to be timing issue with the loading I think, where cufon renders the text, but then the jquery tabs css is applied, and perhaps they are 'breaking' each other. Javascript API not working for Chrome or Safari on JW Player 5.9

I am working on a custom interface for the JW Player which displays the current track title and has play/pause, next track, previous track and volume toggle buttons. It works for IE8/9 and FF but fails for Chrome and Safari. Difference between KeywordQuery, FullTextQuerySearch type for Object Model and Web service Query

Initially I believed these 3 to be doing more or less the same thing with just the notation being different. Until recently, when i noticed that their does exists a big difference between the results of the KeyWordQuery/FullTextQuerySearch and Web service Query. Excel VBA - export to UTF-8

The macro I created works fine, I just need to sort out the saving business. Now I get a popup asking me where to save it, but I would like it to save it under a default name and path AND encoded in UTF-8. .NET 4.0 Forms Authentication change?

I'm seeing some new behavior in Forms Authentication after upgrading to .NET 4.0. This occurs only on IIS 6, not on 7. Background - In web.config, we configure Forms Authentication, and then use <authorization tags to globally deny anonymous/unauthenticated users access. Then we explicitly allow access to a login.aspx page using a <location tag. Generally, this works fine, as it did when we were on .NET 2.0 (3.5). The issue only occurs when we visit the root path of the site, ie "http://myserver/". Our default document is configured in IIS to be login.aspx. Under .NET 4.0, upon visiting that URL, we're redirected to "http://myserver/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=/". If you log in from here, you're logged in and returned back at the log in page (yuck). Just wanted to post this here to see if anyone else is experiencing this. It's not listed on any "breaking changes" documentation I've been able to find. Either I'm missing something, or the UrlAuthorization module has changed and is no longer "smart" about IIS default documents.

Can't Compile Correct Mapping File

Hello, Im now developping one application in C# with Remoting objects and NHibernate. So here is a image explaining how my projects are divided. Views Layer This layer will be responsible for the users interface. This layer will always use the Controls Layer to create and edit objects; Control Layer This is my persistence layer, here Ill have all the NHibernate configuration. This is my critic point, because ListSingleton Project will have only my RemoteObject. (Here I have the App.config file) Models Layer Entity layer. Here I only have the entities classes and their respective mapping. I’ve done a test solution with no remoting and only with the projects of the Control and Model Layers. It was all working ok. Now that I added the Views Layer and set the solution to start with projects Client and Server (Client calls the Control Layer and this would do a try to persist a object) I’m getting a error at : Configuration cfg = new Configuration(); cfg.AddXmlFile("mapping/User.hbm.xml"); InnerException: {"Could not compile the mapping document: mapping/User.hbm.xml"} InnerException.InnerException: {"Could not find the dialect in the configuration"} StackTrace in the InnerException.InnerException " em NHibernate.Dialect.Dialect.GetDialect(IDictionary`2 props)\r\n em NHibernate.Cfg.Configuration.AddValidatedDocument(NamedXmlDocument doc)" But I know that there is no error in the mapping file because I used in my test application.

Overlay SVG diagrams on google maps

Hello I would like to add an overlay image on a google map. This image is a SVG file I have generated (python with svgfig). Thanks PS1: I read some works like this or the source code of swa.ethz.ch/googlemaps, but it seems that they have to use javascript code to parse the SVG and add one by one all the elements (but I did not understood all the source...) PS2: The SVG is composed of different filled paths and circles, with transparency. If there is no solution to overlay my SVG, I can use 2 alternative solutions: rasterize the SVG convert the paths and circles in GPolygons But, I do not really like the 1st solution because of the poor quality of the bitmap and the time to generate it with antialiasing. And for the 2nd solutions, the arcs, ellipses and circles will have to be decomposed into small polylines. A lot of them will be necessary for a good result. But I have around 3000 arcs and circles to draw, so...

I have several posts on a website; all these posts are chat conversations of this type: AD: Hey! BC: What's up? AD: Nothing BC: Okay They're marked up as simple paragraphs surrounded by <p> tags. Using the javascript replace function, I want all instances of "AD" in the beginning of a conversation (ie, all instances of "AD" at the starting of a line followed by a ":") to be surrounded by <strong> tags, but only if the instance isn't already surrounded by a <strong> tag. What regex should I use to accomplish this? Am I trying to do what this advises against? TypeError: Error #1009 - (Null reference error) With Flash.

I am not an expert in flash, but i do work with AS and tweak Flash projects , though not having deep expertise in it. Currently i need to revamp a flash website done by one another guy, and the code base given to me, upon execution is throwing the following error. "--- TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at NewSite_fla::MainTimeline/__setProp_ContactOutP1_ContactOut_Contents_0() at NewSite_fla::MainTimeline/frame1() --" The structure of the project is like, it has the different sections split into different movie clips. There is no single main timeline, but click actions on different areas of seperate movie clips will take them between one another. All the AS logic of event handling are written inline in FLA , no seperate Document class exists. Preloader Movie clip is the first one getting loaded. As i understood the error is getting thrown initially itself, and it is not happening due to any Action script logic written inline, because it is throwing error even before hitting the first inline AS code. I am not able to figure Out what exactly it causing the problem, or where to resolve it. I really got stuck at this point. Any help will be great.I had not seen the particular solution i am looking for anywhere yet, though Error #1009 is common. I uploaded the fla, here ( http://tinyurl.com/249e95p ), for reference.It may not be working , since the included/refered video files and all are not there, but reviwing the action code/movie clips will be possible. Please let me know if somebody will be able to trace the issue exactly.

jQuery Character Counter Inside Newly Created Tooltip

Hello all, I'm having a difficult time figuring this one out. I'm attempting to have a user open a tooltip (using jQuery qTip). What this does is create a "new" tooltip element on the page; it takes it from an existing hidden HTML div on the webpage. Once this new tooltip is created, it has a character counter that is supposed to dynamically update as the user types in the textbox (which is inside the tooltip). The "Max Length Character Counter" script can be found here. However, the "counter" portion is not working inside the newly created tooltip. Any ideas how I can bind this max length character counter to the tooltip? HighCharts : Can I customize the colors of individual series?

I am using HighCharts for a line graph and i am attemping to change the line color for each series. I did find this example here but the data is hard coded. ColorBox (jquery plug in) my textbox values are empty after postback

Vertical crosshair reposition on Google Map after map resize Issue

I use the following function to add a crosshair to my Google Map. It works great for horizontal resizing. I can not figure out how to make it work for vertical. I've tried firing a javascript zoom in one level but it doesn't work like zooming in with the mouse. It's only zooming in/out with the mouse scroll wheel too... clicking and dragging the zoom slider doesn't work so somehow it's liking the mouse scroll wheel. Firing addCrosshairs(); after resize makes no difference. It places the new crosshair in old spot and still requires a mouse scroll zoom.

But when I click the ImageButton nothing happens. Anyone got an idea?

Passing a list of ints to WebMethod using jQuery and ajax.

I'm working on a web page (ASP.NET 4.0) and am just starting simple to try and get this ajax call working (I'm an ajax/jQuery neophyte) and I'm getting an error on the call. Here's the js: var TestParams = new Object; TestParams.Items = new Object; TestParams.Items[0] = 1; TestParams.Items[1] = 5; TestParams.Items[2] = 10; var finalObj = JSON.stringify(TestParams); var _url = 'AdvancedSearch.aspx/TestMethod'; $(document).ready(function () { $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: _url, data: finalObj, contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", dataType: "json", success: function (msg) { $(".main").html(msg.d); }, error: function (xhr, ajaxOptions, thrownError) { alert(thrownError.toString()); } }); Here's the method in my code behind file: [Serializable] public class TestParams { public List<int> Items { get; set; } } public partial class Search : Page { [WebMethod] public static string TestMethod(TestParams testParams) { // I never hit a breakpoint in here // do some stuff // return some stuff return ""; } } Here's the stringified json I'm sending back: {"Items":{"0":1,"1":5,"2":10}} When I run it, I get this error: Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'undefined' is null or not an object It breaks on the error function. I've also tried this variation on building the json (based on a sample on a website) with this final json: var TestParams = new Object; TestParams.Positions = new Object; TestParams.Positions[0] = 1; TestParams.Positions[1] = 5; TestParams.Positions[2] = 10; var DTO = new Object; DTO.positions = TestParams; var finalObj = JSON.stringify(DTO) {"positions":{"Positions":{"0":1,"1":5,"2":10}}} Same error message. It doesn't seem like it should be hard to send a list of ints from a web page to my webmethod. Any ideas? Thanks, Jay

What's the scope of a Javascript variable declared in a for() loop?

Check out the following snippet of HTML/Javascript code: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> var alerts = []; for(var i = 0; i < 3; i++) { alerts.push(function() { document.write(i + ', '); }); } for (var j = 0; j < 3; j++) { (alerts[j])(); } for (var i = 0; i < 3; i++) { (alerts[i])(); } </script> </head><body></body></html> This outputs: 3, 3, 3, 0, 1, 2 which isn't what I was expecting - I was expecting the output 0, 1, 2, 0, 1, 2, I (incorrectly) assumed that the anonymous function being pushed into the array would behave as a closure, capturing the value of i that's assigned when the function is created - but it actually appears that i is behaving as a global variable. Can anyone explain what's happening to the scope of i in this code example, and why the anonymous function isn't capturing its value?

CSS filters - sometimes working, sometimes not?

Internet Explorer 8 couldn't care less about my filter declarations here: #admin .drop .tabs { margin-bottom: 12px; } #admin .drop .tab { margin-right: 4px; } #admin .drop .tab.off { cursor: pointer; opacity: 0.5; -ms-filter: "progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(opacity=50)"; filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(opacity=50); } #admin .drop .tab.off:hover { text-shadow: 0px 0px 4px #fff; } #admin .drop .tab.on { cursor: default; text-shadow: 0px 0px 4px #fff; -ms-filter: "progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Glow(color=#fff, strength=4)"; filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Glow(color=#fff, strength=4); } My document shows in IE8 Standards, and I am assuming the developer tools are a load of tuna, because the functioning block shows up in its CSS tab as: filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(opacity=25); opacity: 0.25 Does anyone have any ideas?

JS: capture a static snapshot of an object at a point in time with a method

I have a JS object I use to store DOM info for easy reference in an elaborate GUI. It starts like this: var dom = { m:{ old:{}, page:{x:0,y:0}, view:{x:0,y:0}, update:function(){ this.old = this; this.page.x = $(window).width(); this.page.y = $(window).height(); this.view.x = $(document).width(); this.view.y = window.innerHeight || $(window).height(); } I call the function on window resize: $(window).resize(function(){dom.m.update()}); The problem is with dom.m.old. I would have thought that by calling it in the dom.m.update() method before the new values for the other properties are assigned, at any point in time dom.m.old would contain a snapshot of the dom.m object as of the last update – but instead, it's always identical to dom.m. I've just got a pointless recursion method. Why isn't this working? How can I get a static snapshot of the object that won't update without being specifically told to? Comments explaining how I shouldn't even want to be doing anything remotely like this in the first place are very welcome :)

Adding Css class to all <input type'text'> elements? Javascript / Css?

I want to apply a CSS class to every textbox in my site: <div class="editor-label"> <label for="FoodType">FoodType</label> </div> <div class="editor-field"> <input id="HelpText" name="FoodType" type="text" value="" /> </div> <p> <input type="submit" value="Create" /> </p> And I thought, Hey! Easy. I'll add a jquery function to find them all in the masterpage. <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $('input').addClass('textbox'); } </script> Unfortunately this will also select the submit button. How can i only select input elements that have a text type attribute? Alternativly is this possible using entirely CSS? If both these methods are not possible, i guess i will just have to manually add the class to every textbox i make? Cheers, Kohan.

For example if an option is changed from one to another, that option will remain even if the page is refreshed or changed on other pages where this radio buttons exist , and i need to make the cookie setting for this code.
