• How to call a Zend lucene search function?

  I inherited a Zend project devoid of comments and I didn't get to talk to the previous developer. Since I have no Zend experience I'm having some issues :) I'd like to print out some variables inside an function that indexes items from the site using Zend_Search_Lucene because I think something is going wrong here. From what I've read, ::create creates a new index and ::open updates it. So it's in this ::open function I'd like to print out some variables. The name and params of the function are below. Does anyone have any idea how this function can be called so I can run some tests? private function search($category,$string,$page = 1,$itemsByPage = 5) EDIT: OR, is there a way I can nuke the existing index and force it to be rebuilt completely, for example by deleting the index files on the FS and then performing some searches?

• Returning a static array without using a class field

  I have the following base and derived (partial, for sake of brevity) classes: class Base { public abstract int[] someArray { get; } } class Derived : Base { private readonly static int[] _someArray = new int[] { 1,2,3,4 }; public override int[] someArray { get { return _someArray; } } } What I would like now, is put the new int[] { 1,2,3,4 } in the return part of the getter. But, that would create a new array every time the getter is called. Is it possible to directly return some kind of object, which stays the same for all objects of class Derived ? Something along the lines of (I know this is invalid C#): get { return (int[]) { 1, 2, 3, 4 }; }

• Using FileSystemWatcher in detecting a xml file, using Linq in reading the xml file and prompt the results error "Root Element is Missing"

  My application is already working it can detect the xml file and prompt the content of the xml file but sometimes it will prompt "Root element is missing", and sometimes also it is okay but when I open the xml file, it is ok, it has contents on it. How to solve this issue. • Qt applications on new Mac App Store

  I have a Qt app that runs on OS X that has potential to go on the new Mac App Store. I have reviewed the guidelines at https://developer.apple.com/appstore/mac/resources/approval/guidelines.html. I also saw a post here on SO about Java and the AppStore. Has anyone else considered this with their own apps and whether or not the Qt framework will run afoul of the App police? You still have to stay within the Apple HIG, i.e. no theming and cannot use private APIs. Still seems like a risky proposition over pure ObjC. Anyone else tempted?

  Hi to all. I'm triying to make a function that add a 'where' clause to a query based in a property and a value. This is a very simplefied version of my function.   Hi, Overflow. I have an application which is supposed to convert a video via DirectShowSource. I have a checkbox which enables a button called "btnviewcrop" which shows a new form called crp.vb for cropping/shearing pixels off the video. Now, I have a Panel1 that I want to set as the owner (the video drawing surface) but when I set it to open, the application crashes (Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.) and I do not understand how to fix it.   In my application, I am trying to play a sound file in ogg format, stored in raw folder in res directory of my application. When I press the button that calls below function, it just freezes with the button pressed and does not respond. In the end, I have to terminate the application from Eclipse.   I am trying to validate the solution I came up for what I think is a fairly typical problem. I have a service running and every 10 minutes it should do something. I've ended up with the following: private bool isRunning = true; public void Execute() { while(isRunning) { if(isRunning) { DoSomething(); m_AutoResetEvent.WaitOne(new Timespan(0, 10, 0)); } } } public void Stop() { isRunning = false; m_AutoResetEvent.Set(); } The immediate potential problems I can see is that I'm not doing any sort of locking around the isRunning modification in Stop() which gets called by another thread but I'm not sure I really need to? The worst that I think could happen is that it runs one extra cycle. Beyond that are there any obvious problems with this code? Is there a better way to solve this problem that I'm unaware of?

Or, is there a better way to do this in general? I don't think returning a copy of the collection for iteration will work because I need absolute synchronization.

• Simplest one-to-many Map case in Hibernate doesn't work in MySQL

In MySQL, there are two problems: First, it insists that there be a table called Members_Preferences, as if this were a many-to-many relationship. Second, it just doesn't work: since it never populates Members_Preferences, it never retrieves the Preferences. [My theory is, since I only use HSQL in memory-mode, it automatically creates Members_Preferences and never really has to retrieve the preferences map. In any case, either Hibernate has a huge bug in it or I'm doing something wrong.]

  I am facing a strange issue with JSF. I have developed one controller and bind it to request scope. I need to access one jsf page like http://localhost:8080/selectRule.jsf?type=A and on the same IE session I want to issue another request like http://localhost:8080/selectRule.jsf?type=B as we can see, only the type is changing here. This is why I have a ruleController bound to request scope, so that every request, creates the controller and pulls out the data depending upon type. I have a private HtmlSelectOneMenu choices item in the page. What I see is, somehow only once in the session the getChoices() is getting called. This is what I see For each url, one new ruleController object is getting created. Only first time getChoices() are called. In the subsequent time, if I change the URL in the web browser, the getChoices() method are not getting called though a new controller is getting created. Note: I am using JSF 1.1

• Having trouble reading XML file from Windows server. Works on Linux

  I'm parsing an XML file in an android app. My success varies depending upon where the file is hosted. After hosting the file on 4 different servers (2 Linux, 2 Windows), I discovered that when the xml is hosted on a Linux server, the app works. When it's hosted on a Windows server, I am unable to parse correctly. Instead of reading the expected xml tags, it reads HTML tags (, , , etc). I'm not sure why it doesn't work on Windows servers, or if that is even the issue and not just a coincidence. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Pastebin API uses paste_code as its main data input, but it can use optional things like paste_name that sets the name of the upload or paste_private that sets it private.

  Hello, let's say I want my users to use only one class, say SpecialData. Now, this data class would have many methods, and depending on the type of data, the methods do different things, internally, but return externally similar results. Therefore my wanting to have one "public" class and other "private", child classes that would change the behavior of methods, etc... It would be amazingly more simple for some types of data that need to be built to do something like this: SpecialData& sm = SpecialData::new_supermatrix(); and new_supermatrix() would return a SuperMatrix instance, which inherits from most behaviors of SpecialData. my header: static SpecialData& new_supermatrix(); my cpp: SpecialData& SpecialData::new_supermatrix()(){ return SuperMatrix(MATRIX_DEFAULT_MAGNITUDE,1000,1239,FLOAT32,etc...); } The problem is, I get this error, which is probably logical due to the circumstances: invalid initialization of non-const reference of type ‘SpecialData&’ from a temporary of type ‘SpecialData’ So, any ideas?

  I need to be able to play an encrypted file in Android. The file is AAC. The only way I can see to do this is either: decrypt the file to internal private storage and point the player at that file to play, or decrypt & decode the file to pcm and feed it to an AudioTrack. 1 isn't great because it takes a long time to do that. 2 isn't great either because I don't know how I can take advantage of the HW decoder to do this. But if it was a method, why would it begin with a capital letter and has no return data type?
