• Making an rtf document right to left

  I hava an rtf document. I want to change the entire document to be right to left instead of left to right in code. i know the rtf specification is a standard, and should probably use rtldoc (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa140283(office.10).aspx) only problem is I don't know where to put it.   I would like to obtain the list of controls under a given point. There is a method on System.Windows.Form to obtain a control under a point(GetChildAtPoint) but not point(GetChildsAtPoint). Is there something similar for the list of controls (if borders intersect one other): I need this because I select the objects when user clicks on the panel(I use Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPacks.RectangleShape as label bellow). In case if labels are superposed, user should be asked what object to select.

• How do I format a String in an email so Outlook will print the line breaks?

  I'm trying to send an email in Java but when I read the body of the email in Outlook, it's gotten rid of all my linebreaks. I'm putting \n at the ends of the lines but is there something special I need to do other than that? The receivers are always going to be using Outlook. I found a page on microsoft.com that says there's a 'Remove line breaks' "feature" in Outlook so does this mean there's no solution to get around that other than un-checking that setting? Thanks

• Why do so many wpf controls implement CLR properties instead of dependency properties ?

  Hello, is it because the controls programmers are lazy, too hard to implement or not knowledgeable? Wether they are custom controls from 3rd party vendors or Microsoft itself, very much controls have often clr properties instead of DP. Result is I can not bind to them and is wpf not all about binding? :/ My next side question would be, why do so many wpf controls offer visual parts but they are not member of the visual tree ? see wpf datagrid columns, headers... What do you think?

  If I allocate memory in one thread in C++ (either new or malloc) can I de-allocate it in another, or must both occur in the same thread? Ideally, I'd like to avoid this in the first place, but I'm curious to know is it legal, illegal or implementation dependent. Edit: The compilers I'm currently using include VS2003, VS2008 and Embedded C++ 4.0, targetting XP, Vista, Windows 7 and various flavours of Windows CE / PocketPC & Mobile. So basically all Microsoft but across an array of esoteric platforms.

  It doesn't look like SQL Server Compact Edition supports the RANK() function. (See Functions (SQL Server Compact Edition) at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms174077(SQL.90).aspx). How would I duplicate the RANK() function in a SQL Server Compact Edition SELECT statement. (Please use Northwind.sdf for any sample select statements, as it is the only one I can open with SQL Server 2005 Management Studio.)

The Error description is "Records can't be read; no read permission on 'xyz123.mdb'" There is a known issue with the Compact function on some versions of Access MDBs. Is the solution in this case to run the Microsoft utility JETCOMP.EXE on this file? What are the other possible causes of this error?
