People recommend using maven, but id rather not try to learn how to use maven/install it if the jars are available somewhere for download.   The question seems to be little confusing. So let me describe my situation through an example: Suppose I have an XML: A.xml <Cakes> <Cake>Egg</Cake> <Cake>Banana</Cake> </Cakes> Another XML: B.xml <Cakes> <Cake show="true">Egg</Cake> <Cake show="true">Strawberry</Cake> <Cake show="false">Banana</Cake> </Cakes> Now I want to show some text say "TRUE" if all the Cake in A.xml have show="true" in B.xml else "FALSE". In the above case, it will print FALSE. I need to develop an XSL for that. I can loop through all the Cake in A.xml and check if that cake has show="true" in B.xml but I don't know how to break in between (and set a variable) if a show="false" is found. Is it possible? Any help/comments appreciated.

• INSERT INTO table doesn't work???

  I found a tutorial from nettuts and it has a source code in it so tried implementing it in my site.. It is working now. However, it doesn't have a Registration system so I am making one. The thing is, as I have expected, my code is not working... It doesn't seem to know how to INSERT into the database.   Hi, I need to decide which configuration framework to use. At the moment I am thinking between using properties files and XML files. My configuration needs to have some primitive grouping, e.g. in XML format would be something like: <configuration> <group name="abc"> <param1>value1</param1> <param2>value2</param2> </group> <group name="def"> <param3>value3</param3> <param4>value4</param4> </group> </configuration> or a properties file (something similar to log4j.properties): group.abc.param1 = value1 group.abc.param2 = value2 group.def.param3 = value3 group.def.param4 = value4 I need bi-directional (read and write) configuration library/framework. Nice feature would be - that I could read out somehow different configuration groups as different objects, so I could later pass them to different places, e.g. - reading everything what belongs to group "abc" as one object and "def" as another. If that is not possible I can always split single configuration object into smaller ones myself in the application initialization part of course. Which framework would best fit for me?

However, all the data are in text format, not numeric, so the chart looks wrong. How do I convert text into number before applying this create-chart function? Also, how do I sort the .xls file before creating the chart?

• [solved] IE6 PNG-transparency CSS hack not working

  I looked around and decided to use a CSS approach rather than rely on JS... I figure the kind of corporate users stuck with IE6 might also have JS disabled by IT departments. I commented out all the rest of the page so it is literally that one and still no luck. I removed the default.css stylesheet and still no difference. EDIT: I now got it working, using the .htc method, loading that file in a conditional IE6 test block. It turned out the problem I was having was that Windows 7 had 'locked' the file (I don't even know what this means) and this blocked IE from loading/using it.

• doesn't parse xml when it's a single node

  my script.php returns this XML <all> <item> <field1>value1</field1> <field2>value2</field2> </item> <item> <field1>value1</field1> <field2>value2</field2> </item> </all> The HTTPService uses the default resultFormat="object" but I don't declare it since it's the default. Then I bind it to a List dataProvider="{getDataHTTP.lastResult.all.item}" I get no problems when the number of item returned is more than 1. But when it's only 1 item I get an error cannot convert XMLList to mx.collections.IList. I tried different solutions including trying to cast it as XMLListCollection but it still gives an error for single items. Does anyone know of a way to possibly solve this?

  I am working on a web applicaton. And what we also create is something that could be described as inline editing. Just to portray thing I am trying to solve I use example of Facebook post. You have post like. Steve Jobs added 5 new photos Steve Jobs is link that redirects to his profile so in HTML, that would be: <div class="post-block"> <p><a href="stevejobs/" title="#">Steve Jobs</a> added 5 new photos.<p> </div> But what I want is the whole post "block" to be clickable although I want only that name to appear to be link. Normally in HTML logic would say to to this: <a href="stevejobs/" title="#"><div class="post-block"> <p><a href="stevejobs/" title="#">Steve Jobs</a> added 5 new photos.<p> </div></a> But this isn't semantically correct. Quick look to HTML 4.01 or any other standard says something like this: Links and anchors defined by the A element must not be nested; an A element must not contain any other A elements. How to create it semantically correct other than using javascript and defining div:hover state for the whole "div anchor"?

• Gridview looses ItemTemplate after columns are removed

  I'm trying to bind a datatable to a gridview where I've removed some of the autogenerated columns in the code behind. I've got two template columns and it seems that when I alter the gridview in code behind and remove the non-templated columns that the templates loose the controls that are in them. Using the following as a sample, "Header A" will continue to be visible but "Header B" will dissapear after removing any columsn that are located at index 2 and above. I'm creating columns in my codebehind for the grid as a part of a reporting tool. If I don't remove the columns then there doesn't seem to be an issue. <asp:GridView ID="DataGrid1" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="false" AllowPaging="True" PageSize="10" GridLines="Horizontal"> <Columns> <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Header A" > <ItemTemplate > Text A </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> <asp:TemplateField> <HeaderTemplate> Header B </HeaderTemplate> <ItemTemplate> Text B </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> </Columns> </asp:GridView> For i = 2 To DataGrid1.Columns.Count - 1 DataGrid1.Columns.RemoveAt(2) Next EDIT So from what I've read this seems to be a problem that occurs when the grid is altered. Does anyone know of a good workaround to re-initialize the template columns or set them up again so that when the non-template columns are removed that hte templates don't get removed as well?

  I have a View that displays a list of images and i am now trying to get it to display the images as thumbnails. Well, i'm pretty sure i got most of it right using VirtualPath's from a custom ActionResult although i can't seem to figure out what it is making the VirtualPath url?? BTW, i'm using XML to store the data from the images instead of SQL.   I just recently started trying out T4MVC and I like the idea of eliminating magic strings. However, when trying to use it on my master page for my stylesheets, I get this: <link href="<%: Links.Content.site_css %>" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> rending like this: <link href="&lt;%: Links.Content.site_css %>" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> Whereas these render correctly: <link href="<%: Url.Content("~/Content/Site.css") %>" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <link href="<%: Links.Content.site_css + "" %>" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> It appears that, as long as I have double quotes inside of the code segment, it works. But when I put anything else in there, it escapes the leading "less than". Is this something I can turn off? Is this a bug?   Here is the way I test JSONP: I run XAMPP, and in folder htdocs I create a javascript folder . I create json1.json file contain some data to process. After that, I run this html file locally, and it will call a function in "other machine" (in this case is localhost) Here is my code : <head> <script> function updateSales(sales) { alert('test jsonp'); // real code here } </script> </head> <body> <h1>JSONP Example</h1> <script src="http://localhost:85/javascript/json1.json?callback=updateSales"></script> </body> But when I run, nothing happen. But if change to other real json on the internet, it will work. It means change line : <script src="http://localhost:85/javascript/json1.json?callback=updateSales"></script> to line: <script src="http://gumball.wickedlysmart.com/?callback=updateSales"></script> It will work smoothly. So, I don't know how to test JSONP by using localhost, please help me. Thanks :)

  Hi guys, I need to create a form that has many of the same fields, that have to be inserted into a database, but the problem I have is that if a user only fills in one or two of the rows, the form will still submit the blank data of the empty fields along with the one or two fields the user has filled in. How can I check for the rows that have not been filled in and leave them out of the query? or check for those that have been filled in and add them to the query. . .   I'm trying to combine data from two tables in MySQL with PHP. I want to select all the data (id, title, post_by, content and created_at) from the "posts" table. Then I would like to select the comment_id COUNT from the "comments" table IF the comment_id equals the posts id. I have tried numerous things and have spent several evenings and have had no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

• jquery animated buttons that just wont behave

  Ok I have a inline list of buttons. <ul id="nav"> <li class="home"><a href="#">Menu Item</a></li> <li class="contact"><a href="#">Menu Item</a></li> <li class="about"><a href="#">Menu Item</a></li> </ul> .home{ position:absolute; bottom:0; background-image:url(../img/menu/single_line.png); background-repeat:no-repeat; height:34px; width:134px; } .home_hover{ position:absolute; bottom:0; background-image:url(../img/menu/single_line_over.png); background-repeat:no-repeat; height:70px; width:134px; } $(document).ready(function(){ $("#nav .home").mouseover(function(){ $(this).toggleClass("home_hover").slideToggle("slow"); return false; }).mouseout(function(){ $(this).toggleClass("home_hover").slideToggle("slow"); return false; }); }); Each menu item has a background image, and then when its hovered the background image is replaced by a taller image. Ultimately I am trying to build a simple menu where on mouseover the menu item appears to slide up. But in reality Jquery can animate the toggleClass with slideToggle. The problem is that this current code doesn't behave right. It jumps up and down, because the text is moving. I am pretty new to Jquery so any help is greatly appreciated. • php mailer attachments

  I have been using this script to send emails to certain staff but because of changes to my system i have to now send attachements with the email and i have tried multipul peices of code to accomplish this but have been unsuccessful...
