• Why does [NSOutlineView clickedRow] always return -1?

  I have a fairly pedestrian non-editable NSOutlineView setup. In the bindings for the outline view, I have set the binding to my file's owner (MyDocument FWIW) with a selector of outlineViewWasDoubleClicked The method exists and is called, but when I call -clickedRow it consistently returns -1 rather than the row number of the row that I double clicked to trigger the method. My _outlineView is an IBOutlet and I've verified that it is hooked up correctly by using -selectedRow for the method rather than -clickedRow (I would rather use -clickedRow though because it seems unintuitive for the user to have a row selected, double click another row to do something with it and have the method triggered with the row they had selected.) My best guess right now is that the -clickedRow value is getting cleared out before my method fires, but I don't know where or what might be gobbling it up. Thanks in advance for any help.

• Invalidate (MFC) debug assertion failed error message

  I've made a custom control, and when I want it to repaint on the screen I call Invalidate(), and afterwards UpdateWindow(), but i get message: debug assertion failed for a file afxwin2.inl in line 150 which is: AFXWIN_INLINE void CWnd::Invalidate(BOOL bErase) { ASSERT(::IsWindow(m_hWnd)); ::InvalidateRect(m_hWnd, NULL, bErase); } The thing is that when I run the same app in release mode, it doesn't report any message! So this clue makes me think it's about some environment configuration I should change. What do you think? Thanks.

  UITabBarController with UINavigationController "more" tab issue There is a problem with using UINavigationController in UITabBarController. I have a TabBar  with 6 items. Of course, a standart item "more" appears, and there are two UINavigationControllers that didn't fit in a TabBar. The core of the problem is: when I'm working with visible items (a first four), UIViewController can be pushed  in an UINavigationController: [self.navigationController pushViewController:userDataViewController animated:YES]; If you call on in "more" and rearrange items in such way, that a visible UINavigationController gets into "more", when calling on it userDataViewController appears.  This  userDataViewController is the last, which has got in a stack and a Back button leads back to "more", but not to the controllers, that were before a userDataViewController appeared. I understand that in fact a selector pushViewController is called from "more", and it pushes my UINavigationController in a stack, and it's not good. Maybe, someone has faced such problem and could help me to solve it? Thank you forward.

  Hi, I am collaborating with someone on a project and currently use Skype for collaboration. I like it because we can be on a call to say things that are hard to say by typing out. We can share our screens so we can help with code writing. And we can use the text chat to copy-paste code between each other. We also use Subversion for version control.   Hi, I have a function that accepts a variable number of parameters: foo (Class... types); In which I get a certain number of class types. Next, I want to have a function bar( ?? ) That will accepts a variable number of parameters as well, and be able to verify that the variables are the same number (that's easy) and of the same types (the hard part) as was specified in foo. How can I do that? Edit: to clarify, a call could be: foo (String.class, Int.class); bar ("aaa", 32); // OK! bar (3); // ERROR! bar ("aa" , "bb"); //ERROR! Also, foo and bar are methods of the same class.

• Does "Debug" invalidate ASP.Net MVC OutputCache?

  I have images stored in a database and am serving them from an MVC controller as "FileResult". If I run the MVC application from Visual Studio 2008 in debug mode and set a break point inside the controller method the debugger intercepts the call on every page refresh regardless of my "OutputCache" settings. Does the VS debugger invalidate the OutputCache or is there something else going on here? • Fire Fox 3.6 - location.href not working in JSP

  I have jsp page with method = POST and action='/mydir/mypage/nextpage' I have a button : < button title='Continue' onclick="this.form.perform.value='cancelButton'; javascript:doCloseWindow();" Continue < /button and java script method like: function doCloseWindow(){ location.href = "https://abc.xyz.com/mydir/?param=123"; } It does not work in fire fox 3.6. On click of button; it redirects to the path I mentioned in form action. With Tamper data I find that the request goes to URL ( as in method ) with GET and then it re-directs to form's action URL.   Heyy all, I needed some help with ONC RPC programming. My task is to create two-tier client-server architecture wherein one main server (something like a directory) keeps a track of level-two servers and acts as a lookup; the level-two servers exposing some trivial functions, and finally, the clients for level-two servers. The clients ask the directory where a server is located, and then communicate with it. Using RPCGEN, we can create a pair of client-server code; however, the clients in this case need to have stubs for the directory as well as the level-two functions. Being a newbie to RPC, I'm having trouble conceptualizing the way I should code this. How can I call a function from a different server if a client is generated using a different IDL ? • why does python.subprocess hang after proc.communicate()?

  I've got an interactive program called my_own_exe. First, it prints out alive, then you input S\n and then it prints out alive again. Finally you input L\n. It does some processing and exits. However, when I call it from the following python script, the program seemed to hang after printing out the first 'alive'. Can anyone here tell me why this is happening? This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{3050F520-98B5-11CF-BB82-00AA00BDCE0B}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE)).   I have a table where we record per user values like money_spent, money_spent_on_candy and the date. So the columns in this table (let's call it MoneyTable) would be: UserId Money_Spent Money_Spent_On_Candy Date My goal is to SUM the total amount of money_spent -- but only for those users where they have spent more than 10% of their total money spent for the date range on candy. What would that query be? I know how to select the Users that have this -- and then I can output the data and sum that by hand but I would like to do this in one single query. Here would be the query to pull the sum of Spend per user for only the users that have spent 10% of their money on candy. • Using numeric_limits::max() in constant expressions

  Hello, I would like to define inside a class a constant which value is the maximum possible int. Something like this: class A { ... static const int ERROR_VALUE = std::numeric_limits<int>::max(); ... } This declaration fails to compile with the following message: numeric.cpp:8: error: 'std::numeric_limits::max()' cannot appear in a constant-expression numeric.cpp:8: error: a function call cannot appear in a constant-expression I understand why this doesn't work, but two things look weird to me: It seems to me a natural decision to use the value in constant expressions. Why did the language designers decide to make max() a function thus not allowing this usage? The spec claims in 18.2.1 that For all members declared static const in the numeric_limits template, specializations shall define these values in such a way that they are usable as integral constant expressions. Doesn't it mean that I should be able to use it in my scenario and doesn't it contradict the error message? Thank you.

  Hi all, I have an entity that has a collection in it. The collection is a OneToMany unidirectional relationship storing who viewed a particular file. The problem I am having is that after I load the entity and try to update the collection, I don't get any errors, but the collection is never updated: Entity: @OneToMany(cascade = CascadeType.PERSIST) @JoinTable protected List<User> users; File Servlet @In private EntityQuery<File> File_findById; ... File file = File_findById(fileId); file.getUsers().add(user); session.update(file); Even though I call session.update(file) and I see stuff in hibernate logs, I don't see anything in the database indicating that it was saved. • OutOfMemoryException Processing Large File

  We are loading a large flat file into BizTalk Server 2006 (Original release, not R2) - about 125 MB. We run a map against it and then take each row and make a call out to a stored procedure. We receive the OutOfMemoryException during orchestration processing, the Windows Service restarts, uses full 2 GB memory, and crashes again. The server is 32-bit and set to use the /3GB switch. Also I've separated the flow into 3 hosts - one for receive, the other for orchestration, and the third for sends. Anyone have any suggestions for getting this file to process wihout error? • Oracle vocabulary, what is the mysql/SQL Server equivalent of a database

  Hi, I need some help with vocabulary, I don't use Oracle that often but I am familiar with MySQL and SQL Server. I have an application I need to upgrade and migrate, and part of the procedure to do that involves exporting to an XML file, allowing the installer to create new database tables, then import to the new database tables from the XML file. In Oracle, my database connection specifies a username, password, and an SID. Let's call the SID, "COMPANY-APPS". This SID contains tables belonging to several applications, each of which connects with a different user ( "WIKIUSER", "BUGUSER", "TIMETRACKERUSER" ). My question is: Can I re-use the same user to create the new tables ( with the same names ). In MySQL or SQL Server, I would create a new database and grant my user privileges to create tables in it. OR, do I need to create a new database user for my upgraded tables?

• Video packet capture over multiple IP cameras

  Hello We are working on a C language application which is simple RTSP/RTP client to record video from Axis a number of Cameras . We launch a pthread for each of the camera which establishes the RTP session and begins to record the packets captured suing the recvfrom() call... A single camera single pthread records fine for well over a day without issues.. but testing with more cameras available,about 25(so 25 pthreads), the recording to file goes fine for like 15 to 20 mins and then the recording just stops ..the application still keeps running .. Its been over a month and a half we have been trying with varied implementations but nothing seems to help .. Please provide suggestions.. We are using CentOS 5 platform

  I am trying to iterate through each of the members of an object. For each member, I check to see if it is a function or not. If it is a function, I want to get the name of it and perform some logic based on the name of the function. I don't know if this is even possible though. Is it? • where to enlist transaction with parent child delete (repository or bll)?

  My app uses a business layer which calls a repository which uses linq to sql. I have an Item class that has an enum type property and an ItemDetail property. I need to implement a delete method that: (1) always delete the Item (2) if the item.type is XYZ and the ItemDetail is not null, delete the ItemDetail as well. My question is where should this logic be housed? If I have it in my business logic which I would prefer, this involves two separate repository calls, each of which uses a separate datacontext. I would have to wrap both calls is a System.Transaction which (in sql 2005) get promoted to a distributed transaction which is not ideal. I can move it all to a single repository call and the transaction will be handled implicitly by the datacontext but feel that this is really business logic so does not belong in the repository. Thoughts? Carrie
