/regexp?/ on HTML, but not in form

I need to do some regex replacement on HTML input, but I need to exclude some parts from filtering by other regexp. (e.g. remove all <a> tags with specific href="example.com…, except the ones that are inside the <form> tag) Is there any smart regex technique for this? Or do I have to find all forms using $regex1, then split the input to the smaller chunks, excluding the matched text blocks, and then run the $regex2 on all the chunks?

Codeigniter HTML & Apache, JPG & jpg

Hi i'm using codeigniter to save some jpg/JPG files on the webserver. The problem is i don't know if all of the files extension will be the same: jpg/JPG so on rendering i put a tag like this <img src="/.../name.JPG"/> in this way if the uploaded file is a .jpg it will not be displayed. the solution i'm going to use is a simple redundance of the tag HTML: <img src="/.../name.JPG"/> <img src="/.../name.jpg"/> this way if one is not rendered the other is i would like to know if this problem can be resolved in php or codeigniter by changing the file extension on upload.

Modify HTML Content with Squid

We have setup our network as per the tutorial here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Upside-Down-TernetHowTo. Basically, we have a squid proxy that inverts images for pages that clients request. We're trying to modify the script so that we can edit the contents of the webpage before the webpage is sent to the client. We are not having any luck. I'm wondering if there is something different about .html files that makes this not possible. What is happening is that we do a wget on the URI that is requested, save it locally, modify it and then echo back the new URI. The page that the user gets is the unmodified page and not the one that we just changed.

HTML align table rows on top

Hello, I have an HTML table. It looks as follows: <table> <tr> <td>Content one</td> <td rowspan="2"> Very long content right</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Content two</td> </tr> </table> As you see, I have some very long content on the right side of the table, actually, it is so long that it does not fit into what height is given by the table rows, and so the table gets higher, and by doing that, the contents one and two are no longer at the top of the table, but distribute themselves along the whole height. How can I stop them from doing this?

I want to make the contenteditable="true" or contenteditable="false" on that toggle function. I've it would be easy if I would have to change a class or ID. Hi, I'm trying to write a regular expression that will strip all tag attributes except for the SRC attribute. For example: <p id="paragraph" class="green">This is a paragraph with an image <img src="/path/to/image.jpg" width="50" height="75"/></p> Would be returned as: <p>This is a paragraph with an image <img src="/path/to/image.jpg" /></p> I have a regular expression to strip all attributes, but I'm trying to tweak it to leave in src. Truncate a HTML formatted text.

Hi there! I've got a variable which is formatted with random HTML code. I call it to {$text} and i truncate it. The value is for example: <div>Lorem <i>ipsum <b>dolor <span>sit </span>amet</b>, con</i> elit.</div> If i truncate the text's first ~30 letters, I'll get this: <div>Lorem <i>ipsum <b>dolor <span>sit The problem is, I can't close the elements. So, I need a script, which check the <*> elements in the code (where * could be anything), and if it dont have a close tag, close 'em. Please help me in this. Thanks.

HTML, CSS, Javascript - Problem with hiding/showing elements

I'm using the Blueprint CSS grid for my HTML page. I have a table which I want to show/hide - linking it to a button, using jQuery. The problem is that everytime I click on the button to show/hide the table, everything on the page shifts slightly left-right. Is this a common problem? Does anyone know what could be causing this and what I could do to fix the other elements of the page such that they do not move? Edit: grammar.

I've been asked to add a testimonial to this page... http://www.orchardkitchens.com/Showroom/testimonials.html As you will see there are funny characters showing up all over the place, and it has thrown the structure of the page out. Can somebody recommend the best (and preferably portable) way to render HTML documents onto a bitmap? As far as I understand my main 2 options are WebKit and Gecko, but I wasn't able to find a good starting point on how to do it. When I last tried doing this 5 years ago, I ended up using Gecko to send the document to a printer, which is not really what I need. I need rendering to a in-memory bitmap. To clarify: server side, no Java, no .NET, batch processing, performance, not interactive, no Javascript.

Hi All, We have a client side application (Java/Swing) that we need an HTML rendering control for. What I want to find is the most widely adopted, most heavily developed, easiest to deploy solution to get Gecko or WebKit into a Swing app (Needs to run OS X and Windows). The limited (crappy?) JEditPane type solutions are not robust enough for our needs. We would really like to use either WebKit or Gecko. Some libraries seems to exist that would allow this: (QT WebKit) http://trac.webkit.org/wiki/QtWebKit (JRex) [can not post URL because I am new] etc. Whats the best library to achieve this?

I'm building an hybrid Android App using Phonegap/Apache Cordova. My app should get data from my web api. I'm using JSON to serve the data to the APP. Android Lightweight HTML Template Engine

Hello, I am after a very lightweight template engine that supports / can be embedded inside Android programs. I've looked at the MiniTemplator (I think that is how you spell it) and that looks great but it loads in only from file and I need to load templates from string and I am not fully confident in changing that code lol. Can anyone recommend a very lightweight (preferably no jars, single source files etc) that I can use ? I do not need it to parse XML or anything like, just normal HTML files with keywords embedded into them betwee %% tags etc. Regards Anthoni

If I just type a "<" then the code assist popup will come up with all the options I can choose from. I would like to know if the code assist can appear in more places though. If I type "<div" and hit space can I get another code assist popup? If so, how?

HTML list wrapping problem

I have a HTML list with this style: font-weight: bold; padding: 0px; margin: 0px; list-style-type: none; display: block; width:700px; font-size: 14px; white-space: pre-wrap; and the cells have this style: display: inline; and I have spacer cells between each cell with this style: padding-right: 20px; display: inline; My problem is that when the list is too long for its 700 pixels, it wraps. I want this, but I dont want the objects to be on two separate lines. I have tried the CSS white-space property, but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

Removing whitespace between HTML elements when using line breaks

I have a page with a row of about 10 imgs. For readability of the HTML, I want to put a linebreak in between each img tag, but doing so renders whitespace between the images, which I do not want. Is there anything I can do other than break in the middle of the tags rather than between them? Edit: Here is a screenshot of what I have so far. I would like the book spine images to display in random combinations, using PHP. This is why I need separate img tags.

Hi, I'm having a problem writing a regular expression for matching HTML tags. I found a similar entry here, but this didn't quite work in my case. Here's my test string: <div id="div0" class="myclass">here's some text that may include whitespace</div><div id="div1" class="myclass"> and some more here </div> And here's my regex based on the aforementioned entry: <div[^>]*class="myclass">[^~]*?<\/div> Note that I need to match the first instance of <div /> with class of "myclass." Hi, im quite new to HTML, and am trying to create a proffessional looking TreeView. I can not use the in built treeview in ASP.Net as i need to point the target of the selection to another frame (I have tried, and this doesn't seem possible). My treeview is built up as follows: Folder1 ChildOne ChildTwo ChildThree Folder2 ChildOne ChildTwo ChildThree I have the collapsing of the folders working, but would like to know how to format this treeview so it has dotted lines down to the child nodes (as most treeviews tend to have). Fullscreen HTML Element using window.innerHeight/Width different with DOCTYPE

I'm trying to make an HTML5 canvas element fullscreen with the window.innerHeight and innerWidth properties. Unfortunately, on Chrome 10, when I set use the following doctype: <!DOCTYPE HTML> ...there is some extra scrolling space indicated by scroll bars which shouldn't appear. Without a doctype, everything is fine. The element is an HTML5 canvas, so styling with 100% will only stretch the content. Is it worth using a doctype which breaks my functionality (without which might be bad?), or should I subtract, say, 15px from the values in order to keep scroll bars from appearing? (which is kludgy)

how to set html table max-width?

Hello everyone, I have an html table, and one column (<td>) has long text, so I want to set the max-width of the column -- so that if text is longer than the max-width, the text could auto-wrap to next line. I have tried to use css max-width style on related TD element of the column, something like "max-width:100px", but it does not work (text still very long and not auto-wrap to next line if it is very long). Any ideas what is wrong or any solution reference code? I am using IE 8 on Windows 7. thanks in advance, George

clear html webpage?

i am currently developing a crawler that crawls all links on the web and displays them in the web browser (and saving it of course). but after some hours there will be a huge list displayed on the web browser and i want to only display lets say 1000 links at the same time. then i clear the html and display another 1000 links. this is also good for the RAM or it will eat up all memory. how do i clear the web browser screen? EDIT: i have seen some scripts using some flush buffer functions. has this anything to do with my case?

HTML input type="submit" doubles row height in table

I have a HTML table where some rows have a button like this: <td > <form action="..." method="GET"> <input type="submit" value="..."/> </form> </td> The rows with the input have about twice the height of other rows that have otherwise similar data. When I remove the just the input, the row height goes back to normal. I have the same behavior in Firefox and IE. Is there any way I can have normal row height AND the button?
