• Setup Jetty 7 with JSP engine

  I've been trying to get Jetty to run my web app via a custom launcher (embedded). I am trying to figure out how to tell Jetty which java compiler to use for JSPs. I want to do what java -jar start.jar -OPTIONS=jsp does, but without using start.jar. Here is what shows on the console: Javac exception, Unable to find a javac compiler; com.sun.tools.javac.Main is not on the classpath. Perhaps JAVA_HOME does not point to the JDK Do I need to put the javac libraries into my classpath?

• Programmatically setup a PEAP connection in Windows Mobile

  I have been working on this for a few days and this is doing my head in: Our application is built using the .NET Compact Framework 2.0 and running on Windows Mobile 5 & 6 devices. We can set the WLAN connection of the device programmatically using the Wireless Zero Config functions (described here: msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms894771.aspx), most notably the WZCSetInterface function which we pinvoke from our application. This works fine for WEP and WPA-PSK connections. In a recent effort to add support for WPA2 networks we decided to modify the code. We have successfully added support for WPA2 which uses a certificate for the 802.1x authentication by setting the correct registry settings before calling WZCSetInterface. Now we want to do the same for WPA2 using PEAP (MS-CHAPv2) authentication. When manually creating such a connection in Windows Mobile the user will be prompted to enter the domain/user/password details. In our application we will have those details stored locally and want to do this all programmatically without any user intervention. So I thought going along the same route as the certificate authentication, setting the correct registry entries before calling WZCSetInterface. The registry settings we set are: \HKCU\Comm\EAP\Config\[ssid name] Enable8021x = 1 (DWORD) LastAuthSuccessful = 1 (DWORD) EapTypeId = 25 (DWORD) Identity = "domain\username" (string) Password = binary blob containing the password that is encrypted using the CryptProtectData function (described here: msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms938309.aspx) But when these settings are set and I call WZCSetInterface with the correct parameters, it still prompts me with the User Logon dialog asking for the domain/username/password. Has anyone got an idea what I need to do to prevent the password dialog from appearing and connect straight away with the settings stored in the registry?

• Building a J2EE dev/test setup on a single PC

  It's been a while since I did Java work, and even then I was never responsible for starting a large project from the very start... there were test/staging/production systems already running, etc, etc. Now I am looking to start a J2EE project from scratch on my trusty workstation, which has never been used for Java development and runs Windows 7 64bit. First of all, I'll be getting Eclipse. As far as writing the code goes I'm pretty happy. And running it through Eclipse is OK, but what I'd really want is to have a VM running MySQL and TomCat on which I can properly deploy my project and run/debug it 'remotely' from my dev PC. And I guess this should be done using Ant instead of letting Eclipse build the WAR for me, so that I don't end up with a dependence on Eclipse. I'm certain Eclipse can do this, so you hit a button and it runs Ant scripts, deploys and debugs for instance, but very hazy on it. Are there any good guides on this? I don't want to be taught Java, or even Ant, but rather the 'glue' parts like getting my test VM up and running under Windows, getting a build/test/deploy/run pipeline running through Eclipse, etc. One point, I only plan to use Windows... hosting a Windows VM on my Windwos desktop. And while I can use command-line tools like ant/svn, I'm much more a GUI person who loves IDE integration... I'd rather this didn't end up an argument about Linux or Vi, etc! I am looking for free, but am a MAPS subscriber, and run Win7 Ultimate in case that makes a difference as far as free VM solutions.

  I'm needing to write a program (C#) that will allow the user to create generic formulas with variables and numbers. For example: D = A + (A - C / X)(7.8 - 6.6) F = E + (E - C / X)(7.8 - 6.6) FinalResult = (A + D)(0.9) + (E + F)(0.32) + B(0.1) + .023 where all variables would mean for me to go to a database and look something up based on values and return a number in its place. So A would be 2.12 for example (and the same for C and E) Whats the best way to structure this program? How would I make my program read these formulas? I've seen a little bit of the MathML but not sure how to get that started (or an example of it)

Followed instructions and in my main delegate .h I have in the usual spots: FJTransitionController* mainTransitionController; @property (nonatomic,retain) FJTransitionController* mainTransitionController; delegate .m has the following @synthesize mainTransitionController And in the - (BOOL)application:(UIApplication *)application didFinishLaunchingWithOptions:(NSDictionary *)launchOptions mainTransitionController=[[FJTransitionController alloc] init]; // do I need to instantise? [self.window addSubview:mainTransitionController.view]; [mainTransitionController setViewControllerClass:[[mainViewController sendMissionsPanelViewController] class] forKey:@"missionView"]; The last line is complaining that there is no @interface for FJTransitionController? Any help please.

Hello I am reinstalling my machine: Toshiha Laptop 2 GB Ram 32 bit processor What is the correct procedure from start to finish to get node.js development working, so far nothing has worked and the emulator (IIS Express) worker processor keeps crashing. No matter how many instances they all end up crashing. Up until two weeks ago my node development was working fine, but I had to do a reinstall, and since then I haven't been doing any node.js development on windows emulator because the latest June 2012 Azure SDK for Node.js is buggy.   Hi, I have never used the datagridview in any other scenario other than one where it is populating by a database so suddenly my mind goes blank... I have 10 tubes, each with 8 vertical positions within it, so I have a 10 by 8 grid basically. Each has of those slots has (or not) an image in a folder. How do I get a datagridview to reflect this information, draw a grid, check the folder and if the image exists paint it white, and if not paint it red? Sorry it if sounds a little odd, thanks, R.

• How to Best Setup a Website Project in VS.NET

  I have very little experience with setting up a website from scratch in a .NET environment. As I am doing this now, I am wondering - what's the best way to go? Is it better to create a new Website Project, and include the various backend services and database code as part of that project, or is it better to split out the various aspects of the project? If the second, how would I go about doing that? I want to ensure that this project is easy to manage in the future (in terms of source control, deployment, etc), so I want to make sure I'm starting off on the right foot. I was unable to find any tutorials online, but if you have any, I would appreciate those as well. Thanks!

I have a simple C# application that allows users to specify that it should be (or should not be) started with Windows; it does so by setting (or deleting) a registry key (namely, ...\Software\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Run\MyApplicationHere). I am using a VS setup project to create the installer for this program. I don't want the installer to create this key; it should only be created when the user selects the option from within the program. Here is the issue: I would like the uninstaller to delete this key if it exists, preferably without resorting to any sort of hackery; if there is a simple "built-in" solution I would love to hear it. However, when the same application is set up on a Win 2008 R2, 64-bit server, we get the following error when the application is accessing the WCF service: No component for supporting the service was found Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Now Snow Leopard is a little more up-to-date and by default ships with $ ls /System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/ 2.3 2.5 2.6 @Current What could be considered best practice? Using the python shipped with Mac OS X or a custom compiled version in, say $HOME. Are there any advantages/disadvantages using the one option over the other? My setup was fairly simple so far and looked like this: Custom compiled Python in $HOME and a $PATH that would look into $HOME/bin first, and subsequently would use my private Python version. Also $PYTHONPATH pointed to this local installation. This way, I did not need to sudo–install packages - virtualenv took care of the rest.

  Would it be better to create a callback function which contains a OpenGL 3.0+ Context including viewport, matrix, etc or setup OpenGL in a function called GL_StartUp and use that GL_StartUp Function in the mainloop and callback function to that Function. I want my program to only show a OpenGL default scene when the user clicks on the New Game menu item in the menu bar rather then just have one setup when the program starts. I'm using Ubuntu 64bit, GTK 3.0 and GTK OpenGL

• In need of help with setting up the open source library JFreeChart

  I am having trouble with setting up the open source library JFreeChart for creating charts using Java. This is the process I have followed so far in trying to set it up: I downloaded the latest version from their download page http://sourceforge.net/projects/jfreechart/files/. I then unpacked the jfreechart-1.0.13.zip in the directory C:\JFreeChart\jfreechart-1.0.13\ on my system drive. In the unpacked directory there is a folder entitled "lib" which contains the packaged .jar files specified as necessary to use JFreeChart. I added the following directory to my classpath: C:\JFreeChart\jfreechart-1.0.13\lib\ I then created a simple program and added the line "import org.jfree.chart.*;" to see if it would compile with a package imported from JFreeChart. I navigated to the folder in which my sample program was contained and compiled with the following command: "javac -classpath C:\ Program.java" I was given the following error: "package org.jfree.chart does not exist" Could someone please give me some input as to what I have done incorrectly in this setup process? This is the first time I've tried using an open source library, so I don't have any prior experience to go on myself. Thank you very much in advance.

• How to call a C# DLL from InstallerClass overrides?

  I have a setup and deployment project. In it I have an Installer.cs class, created from the basic Installer Class template. In the Install override, I have this code taken from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/d9k65z2d.aspx. public override void Install(IDictionary stateSaver) { base.Install(stateSaver); System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("http://www.microsoft.com"); } Everything works when I install the application, but the problem arises when I try to call anything from an external C# class library that I also wrote. Example: public override void Install(IDictionary stateSaver) { base.Install(stateSaver); System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("http://www.microsoft.com"); MyLibrary.SomeMethod(); } The problem is, I don't believe the library call is actually happening. I tagged the entire process line by line, with EventLog.WriteEvent()s, and each line in the Install override is seemlingly 'hit', putting entries in the event log, but I do not receive any exceptions for the library call SomeMethod(), yet the EventLog entries and other actions inside SomeMethod() are never created nor any of its actions taken. Any ideas?

• Installer downloads wrong version of sql server compact edition

  I have a Visual Studio setup project which defines SQL Server 3.5 as prerequisite. I also set it up to download the required files from the source (i.e. Microsoft). My project uses Sql Server 3.5 SP1. If I create the installer on my development machine, everything works fine. When the installer is built on the build machine, it downloads the "old" 3.5 version (without SP1) which makes my application crash. (If I install SP1 on the test system manually, the application just works find...) I installed both Visual Studio 2008 SP1 and Sql Server 3.5 SP1 on the build machine. This seems to be some issue with the prerequisite packages but they look the same on the development and the build machines. Any idea what goes wrong here? EDIT Ok, I rechecked it and the package descriptions are'nt the sames. Oddly enough, the .msi file is the right one on the build machine but the old one on the development machine, so I guess if I tried to build an installer which includes the prerequisites, I'd get the wrong result on the dev machine and the right one on the build machine. Extended question: How are the prerequesite packages (under C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\Bootstrapper\Packages\SQL Server Compact Edition) meant to be updated to SP1? Is the SQL Server CE SP1 installer responsible for this?
