    I found that links: Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (Web Installer) Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (Standalone Installer) Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile (Standalone Installer) Note that (2) the size is 48.0 MB and the (3) the size is 41.0 MB. It's not the REAL .Net 4 Full Standalone. :( I want that installer in a usb pen drive because my app need of features of .Net 4 Full Framework (like MSBuild) and I will install in a enviroment without Internet access. PS: I tested the (2) and really is the Client Profile with another name... :(

  • Adding to the browser user agent string?

    I have a plug-in that handles its own url schema (something like mystuf:// ). If a user clicks on such a link when the plug-in isn't installed (s)he gets an ugly error. So I extended my installer to write into the Registry (for Internet Explorer) and the user.js (for Firefox) to ADD a custom string to the user agent string. These additions survive a browser upgrade nicely (Microsoft uses this technique to indicate the presence of the dotNet Framework). Now I need to extend this to Apple Safari and Google Chrome on all supported platforms. To be clear: I'm not looking how to REPLACE the user agent string, but how to amend it with additional information. Any hint?

    Hi, i am supposed to document my code with doxygen for a homework assignment, but i have problems getting doxygen to run. I have a Doxyfile provided, and have just installed doxygen on my machine. When i enter the command to run doxygen, "doxygen Doxyfile" I get the following error: failed to run html help compiler on index.hhp can anyone clue me into what i am doing wrong? Thanks

    I am running ubuntu Linux 11.10. I have followed the instructions on the site http://jogamp.org/jogl/www/ and downloaded everything with git to $HOME/jogamp and built everything with ant (although I would have prefered the files installed somewhere under /usr/local). I am trying to run a simple application with JOGL found on the Wikipedia site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Java_OpenGL In order to compile the file I had to add: export CLASSPATH.:$HOME/jogamp/jogl/build/jogl/classes in order to compile the code.     My project contains WinForms, WPF, and Windows Service programs running on users' office desktop PCs. I want these applications to periodically check for new versions available at specific URL, automatically download new versions and replace themselves with new versions without attracting any user attention (keeping in mind that users may run Windows from XP to 7 and work using non-privileged account (which can be part of active directory)). Alternatively the whole update package has to be able to be distributed as an unattended-installed MSI package. Any recommendations on implementing this?

I know about project deploy, but it is no longer maintained.   • Avoid existing files being overwritten when newer version is installed.

    Hello I have a VS2008 windows application project (WinProject) which is deployed by the installation project (InstallationProject) which inturn has the property RemovePreviousVersions set to True. In my app for each configuration made by an user, the winapp writes the configurations into an xml file (stored in C:\Application Name\Files\ folder) which also includes the path where the config was saved. Now when I build new versions of the installer,This folder and the files are overwritten since i the flag AlwaysCreate is set to True. My question is how can i avoid these older files from being overwritten and at the same time shall get the updated file from the installer. Ex: Contents of the file <PriceFiles> <Name>arr</Name> <Path>C:\NewTool\arr.xml</Path> <UserDefined>true</UserDefined> </PriceFiles> <ReferenceProjects> <Name>studio</Name> <Path>C:\NewTool\ReferenceProjects\6cd3a9e9-ad65-475e-953b-128915a496cd.xml</Path> <UserDefined>true</UserDefined> <CreatedBy>Admin</CreatedBy> </ReferenceProjects> Thanks in advance

    Hi, I've got an installer with a custom action project. I want the action to fire at install. The action fires, when I write something to the event log, it works perfectly. But I really need to debug the file since the action is quite complicated.     How do you create a "Browse" button in a WIX dialog. I currently have a custom dialog box with four radio buttons (Dev, QA, Stage, and Prod), and a text field for a filename. The install of course dies if the user enters a bad filename. I would be happy first of all just to verify that the file they entered exists. Secondly, I would like to add a File-Browser button, if such things exists in WIX. But even then, I would imagine the user could type in any file name, and I should still check to see if it exists. This process is did for all the form. so now each form having to resx file first is hi.resx for hindi and another is default resx. now my qus is that : how to give language selection option at installation time. and when user choose any language then my application is converted in that language that means particular language resx file set life time whenever user uninstall that application.

  • Extra space while installing .msi

    I have extra space in my custom made .msi. The data to be installed has about 600MB and the installer says it needs 1.4 GB.Switching to a different location then the predetermined one (e.g from C:\Program Files\My_App to F:\My_App) shows that it always need approximately 800 MB on the Windows partition, which is in my case the extra space. Any thoughts on why is this happening? Also can this cause an installation error on a 64-bit OS? I've only installed it on a 32-bit OS and everything is fine, but one of my colleagues is having problems installing it on the above mentioned type.

    I installed emacs 23.3.1 in c:/emacs-23.3. Following the hints in this page, I updated the site-start.el to set HOME environment variable. (setenv "HOME" "c:/users/USER/emacs") And I made c:/users/USER/.emacs (like I did in unix/mac) to write the code for using slime, but it doesn't seem to start slime correctly. Is this a correct way of setting emacs in Windows 7? Where do I put the .emacs file?
