• Can Apache be configured to specify more than one docroot per virtualhost?

  I have a vhost which specifies <VirtualHost *:80> DocumentRoot "/private/var/www/html/cms/sites/" ServerName localhost.com </VirtualHost> I would like to know if localhost.com can also point to /private/var/www/html/wordpress/. This seems like a no brainer but Apache is like black magic; these things are always possible. Anyway, I already know that I could specify a new ServerName entry and set a new docroot. The problem is, both directories need to be available as roots. If I need to provide more info, I will gladly do so.

• Time of splitting and encoding video with ffmpeg increases exponentially

  I'm trying to split video by subtitles and encode into .mp4(h.264/aac) using ffmpeg, but it takes so much time! First pieces of video are splited and encoded really fast, but for each iteration time increases, and so 40 min video takes all night or more. Small 3 min video takes max 10 mins. cmd for splitting and encoding: ffmpeg -i filename.avi -ss 00:00:0(time of sub start) -t 0:0:3(time of sub duration) -acodec libfaac -vcodec libx264 -bf 0 -f mp4 filename.mp4 ffmpeg version N-34849-g07c7ffc (last, i think) How I can make it faster? Are there, maybe, some magic arguments for ffmpeg or some hacks?

• cd ~ dumps me in a seemingly empty directory

  This is on a Linux mint box. I'm told everywhere to use the command cd ~ To switch to the root directory before doing some command line magic. For some reason though, it dumps me in a directory named ~ where ls gives nothing and I can't get back to my home directory; I have to restart the terminal session to get out of the empty root directory. I'm positive that everything is just hidden to me, but even as a super-user I can't get the folders to show themselves. I usually just fall back to using a graphical file browser to roam those forbidden files, but I've recently just been shut out of my root directory, and the machine refuses to allow me to change the permissions on the stupid thing even when I type the root password in. It may just be some over-rigorous end-user shielding on the part of the mint team, but it's getting to be really frustrating now.

  I tried to partition my primary hard disk (NTFS partitions) with qtparted and got stuck in the process. Consequently I had to kill the process and exit my knoppix live CD boot up. Even though I was expecting XP to get corrupted, it booted fine and showed up all the drives accessible. But when I opened this with partition manager 8, it shows up as “BAD”. I ran chkdsk /f without any success. My objective with qparted and partition magic was to resize my existing partitions and add some space to c: How do I fix this problem and resize my partitions? • Control Windows 8 with a tablet

  It seems much of Windows 8 is based on the idea that it will be running on tablets, and touch screen PCs. I like this, but I don't have a W89 tablet, or a touch PC yet. I'm running W8 on a laptop, and am wondering if there's any way of using my iPad2 as a touch interface with metro? Or another options that'd be nice is if there's a input device similar to Apple's "Magic Trackpad" that would allow me to use hand gestures instead of a mouse cursor when in metro apps. I've seen some cool videos of MS Smart Glass and it would seem that the capabilities are there. But it may just be too early on to do this? I'm not sure.

  Hi, I've just added a new production server and I was wondering if you guys could help me decide which configuration suits best. Current configuration: 40GB ~ C (System) 250GB ~ D (SQL - MDF & LDF) 250GB ~ F (IIS) 1TB ~ E (storage of users' files) (note: C and D are partitions on the same physical HDD) I've heard splitting LDF/MDF can do magic in terms of performance. Therefore, the core of my question is how would you recommend to do so. For example, putting the MDF with the IIS is an option, yet I'm not so sure about it.

So although for example a "T Shirt" may have 10 Medias associated, my result should be something similar to this Product.Id Product.Title MediaId 1 T Shirt 21 2 Shoes Null 3 Hat 43 I have tried the following solutions using JoinType.LeftOuterJoin 1) productCriteria.SetResultTransformer(Transformers.DistinctRootEntity); This hasnt worked as the transform is done code side and as I have .SetFirstResult() and .SetMaxResults() for paging purposes it wont work. 2) .SetProjection( Projections.Distinct( Projections.ProjectionList() .Add(Projections.Alias(Projections.Property("Id"), "Id")) ... .SetResultTransformer(Transformers.AliasToBean()); This hasn't worked as I cannot seem to populate a value for Medias.Id in the projections.   I recently installed Python 2.7, Robot Framework and the Selenium Library (I still don't know if I succeded though...) on a Red Hat Server to run some test on a web application. So I tried a simple test case using the robot framework to see if Selenium Library is functional, just to Open a web page, nothing more... Selenium Server is up and running according to the result of ps, and firefox binaries are in the PATH... Running the test case from the Robot Framework (with the pybot testcasename.tsv) I get an exception: ERROR: Problem capturing a screenshot to string: java.awt.AWTException: headless environment So, what is the Headless Environment? Does anyone have an idea if there is something else that needs to be istalled or to be configured as well?

• YUI Calendar: how does it load the Sam's Skin CSS?

  I'm using YUI 2's calendar in YUI 3. How does it load Sam's skin CSS? I didn't manually include it (though it seems like I should so the user can download it in the one request I make to the combo loader for css). Strangely, I don't see it being downloaded nor do I see it in the JS files themselves. I must be overlooking it. • WPF tabcontrol styling

  I've got a UI with a fairly standard look and feel. It has a column of icons on the left side which when clicked open a different user control on the right side. Currently I'm using separate controls for the selection icons and the usercontrol containment. I'm having strange focus issues that I am tired of trying to mitigate and am wondering if I could style a tabcontrol to look like my UI (under the assumption a tabcontrol would not have focus issues when navigating tabs). Here is a screenshot of the basic UI. The styling is mostly about how to get the tabcontrols page selection to look like my column of icons. Anyone want to throw their hat in the ring as to how I might accomplish this with a tabcontrol? My xaml is pretty weak at this point.

• security issue of Linux sudo command?

  Hello everyone, 1. I am using Red Hat Enterprise 5 Linux box. I find if a user is in /etc/sudoers file, then if the user run command with sudo, the user will run this command with root privilege (without knowing root password, the user runs sudo only need to input the user's own password in order to run a command with sudo). Is that correct understanding? 2. If yes, then is it a security hole? Since users other than root could run with root privilege? thanks in advance, George

  Hi, we have Crystal Reports 2008 on the server, and use the Java SDK to display reports and convert them to PDF. Since the server hat its own database, we have to set the data source on the DatabaseController to make CR connect to this database. We do it like specified in the docs, and tried the functions in CRJavaHelper, but for a reason unknown to me setting the connection string takes 300ms to 1500ms. What is the fastest way to tell Crystal which datasource to use in its reports? I already saw a JNDI name somewhere, but i don't believe CR actually does a JNDI lookup to find an existing datasource, doesn't it?

  I looking for a simple way to wire the homepage of my website so that it fires off a Push notification message to my iPhone every time someone lands on the page (just visiting in their browser). I'm aware this could become annoying! I currently send regular notifications to my iPhone using cron and curl to check sites / RSS feeds for change and then fire to to the Prowl API who in turn send it to my iPhone - like so: curl https://prowl.weks.net/publicapi/add -F apikey=$apikey -F priority=$priority -F application="$app" -F event="$eventname" -F description="$description" Could I do something similar from with the HTML of the homepage - call a script on my server which in turn fires a similar curl request above? Maybe with Javascript or PHP? Ideally I'd like the loading and rendering of me webpage to be uninterrupted by the call. • IE8 error with Certificate

  I have installed a certificate with multiple Common Names on a Red Hat server in the jks format. The web page can be accessed with Firefox and the certificate gets imported. However, IE8 gives the error "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". I added the cert with MMC and its properties shows "This certificate has an nonvalid digital signature.". Also the cert doesn't have the URL of the web page in it. The cert does have a valid signature in Firefox and the URL mismatch is ignored. How can I get IE8 to accept it. This cert is required for another Application (where it works fine) and cannot be changed except to change the format. I already have it in PKCS12, jks and pem formats.

  My linux (fedora red hat 7) virtual dedicated server has been experiencing OOM multiple times a day for the past several days. I thought the issue was with spamd/spamassassin but after disabling this the errors remains. • How can I link glibc statically with qt

  I have built a static version of qt and download a static version of glibc. Now I would like to link glibc statically to my qt application. I know about going into the .pro and adding the line LIBS += -L path/to/static_lib but I am wondering if these that is enough? Will it still link glibc statically even though the OS I am building on has the dynamic libraries also? The reason I am doing this is to deploy the application in a standalone manner. (After installing and updating Red Hat 5.3 glibc_2.9 was not found on the target computer)
