• Proper way of deleting records with Codeigniter

  I came across another Stackoverflow post regarding Get vs Post and it made me think. With CI, my URL for deleting a record is http://domain.com/item/delete/100, which deletes record id 100 from my DB. The record_id is pulled via $this->uri->segment. In my model I do have a where clause that checks that the user is indeed the owner of that record. A user_id is stored in a session inside the DB. Is that good enough? My understanding is, POST should be used for one time modification for data and GET is for retrieving regards (e.g. viewing an item or permalink).

• Facebook friends.getLists failing

  Hi all, I'm trying a simple request on Facebook to return all my friend lists. I'm trying this in Facebook's test console, as well as through an iPhone app i'm working on. friends.getLists (also alternatively through FQL) SELECT flid, name FROM friendlist WHERE owner=4810796 I am currently logged in, so using that number should be valid. Both are returning an empty list (not erroring out), but I am certain that I have a few friend lists set up. I've also tried using this with a test account I set up, but got the same results. I could have sworn this command was working earlier. Can anyone please either verify or reject that this is happening for them? Thanks.

  I have a SQL Server 2008, which is part of a domain. Now I make a backup of a database of this server and restore it on a SQL Server, which is not part of a domain. I have an C# application, which uses this database. On the NON-Domain machine I get now exceptions like this: "Cannot execute as the database prinzipal because the principial "dbo" does not exist, this type of principal cannot be impersonatedm or you don not have the permission" I think, the problem is, that the database owner is a domain user and this user doesn't exist on the target machine (backup machine)!? How can I solve this ?

  I have two NIB's ParentViewController.xib ChildViewController.xib ParentViewController.xib contains a UIView and a UIViewController. ChildViewController.xib contains a UIButton I want ChildViewController.xib to load in the ParentViewController.xib's UIView I have done the following: Created @property for UIView in ParentViewController Connected File's Owner to UIView in ParentViewController Set UIViewController in ParentViewController's NIB Name property to ChildViewController in Interface Builder Set ChildViewController view property to UIView in ParentViewController I was hoping this would load ChildViewController into my UIView in ParentViewController but no luck. I did get the following warning, which could be the culprit: 'View Controller (Child View)' has both its 'NIB Name' property set and its 'view' outlet connected. This configuration is not supported. I also have added additional code in ParentViewController's viewDidLoad(): - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; ChildViewController *childViewController = [[ChildViewController alloc]initWithNibName:@"ChildViewController" bundle:nil]; childViewController.view = self.myView; } Any thoughts on why ChildViewController does not load in the UIView of ParentViewController?

• Why Does the iPad Toolbar Refuse to Reappear When Orientation Changes?

  I have a fullscreen OpenGL iPad app that behaves correctly for all orientation changes. I now want to add a UIToolbar programmatically and while it appears correctly in launch orientation - portrait in the Xcode simulator - it dissapears when the orientation changes to landscape. Change the orientation back to portrait and the Toolbar reapppears.   Hi! I'm doing a chess game. In there, I want to move an element with effect and then append it to new div. Following is my code. //--> #p70 is just ablove #p80 //--> each square is 64px $('#p80').animate({bottom:'+=64px'},500); //--> move one square above $('#b70').append($('#p80')); //--> append the animated element to owner 'div' The problem is, it moves 2 square( equivalent to 128px) where I only did is 64px. Here is my page and if you click the white square just above the pawn, you'll see the problem. I've tried adding delay(1000) and even javascript setTimeout but nothing works :( Really appreciate your helps in advance!

  I am using WebBrowser control to programmatically access a single website, but whenever I login, I receive this certificate security alert: Since I trust that website and since I need to programmatically automate the login as well, this dialog box gets in the way. I searched SO for a solution and found a question similar to mine, but the accepted answer does not work! I defined a static member in the form that contains the WebControl: public static bool ValidateServerCertificate(object sender, X509Certificate certificate, X509Chain chain, SslPolicyErrors sslPolicyErrors) { return true; } In my form's constructor I added: ServicePointManager.ServerCertificateValidationCallback = new RemoteCertificateValidationCallback(ValidateServerCertificate); But that didn't get rid of the certificate security alert. Is there any way to get rid of this warning? Is there an IE equivalent to Firefox's Add Security Exception??? Note: The owner's certificate works perfectly fine (without exhibiting this security alert) with standalone browsers (IE, FF, Chrome, Safari). It only exhibits the problem with the WebBroswer control.

Now there are some sites that inherits permissions from their parent site and some site has their own permission module. Now a user from owner group of root site browses site collection but there are few site which doesn't allow user to view the content of it. Now what I want is general recommendation on when creating a new site in SharePoint what is best possible approach to set site permission. In what case we can inherits permissions from parent site..? In what case we can we us unique permission for a site..? If a site has unique permission set then is it possible to creat a group at root level which has access to all site collection irrespective of site permission model?   I'm doing this application in C# using the free Krypton Toolkit but the Krypton Navigator is a paid product which is rather expensive for me and this application is being developed on my free time and it will be available to the public for free. So, I'm looking for a free control to integrate better into my Krypton application because the default one doesn't quite fit and it will be different depending on the OS version... Any suggestions? P.S: I know I could owner-draw it but I'm trying not to have that kind of work... I prefer something already done if it exists for free.   I am using a sample ViewController that is displayed in the sample program as a presentModalViewController. However, I want to use pushViewController on the UIViewController instead. The problem is that when I switch to pushViewController, the ViewController no displays properly. Functions in the ViewController are called, but I don't see anything. I change back to presentModalViewController and everything works. The question is what do I need to do to make pushViewController work? • Windows Vista, Default Programs API, file format associations, and (un)installers - explosive mix!

  My application is a rather well behaved Windows citizen, so when I ported it to Windows Vista/7 I replaced my custom file format association code with support for the Default Programs API. However I ran into a problem when trying to make uninstaller for my application - there seems to be no way to remove file format associations via Default Programs API. I tried to call IApplicationAssociationRegistration::ClearUserAssociations but it actually removes all associations, including the ones for other applications - completely restoring default state of the OS (which is of course unacceptable). I tried to call IApplicationAssociationRegistration::SetAppAsDefault to return file format associations to the previous "owner" - but it does not help, because my application handles many unique file formats which the OS does not support and there is no previous "owners". And Windows does not allow to pass empty strings to SetAppAsDefault... So what do I do? Any good solutions?

  Hi, I have a button in a view which refuses to work. I've got in working in a blank, default view application from X-Code, but in none of my applications will it work, instead it gives me the following error. • Change the null placeholder in a Cocoa binding?

  Is there a way to change (for the purpose of localization) the null placeholder in a binding in Cocoa? The bindings are set up in Interface Builder for a popup button. The two-way nature of the bindings as set up in IB is needed, so doing it programmatically is not really appealing. I am aware that the standard way of handling localizations of a nib file is by making one for each language, but since this is the only difference in the whole nib file between the language versions, it seems a bit excessive for a single string. If there is a way to modify a binding created in IB, I was thinning about doing it in the file's owner's awakeFromNib method.

We are thinking of making the admin create the activities for each developer. I am using the below code CImage image; hr = image.Load(_T("myimage.png")); // just change extension to load jpg bitmap.Attach(image.Detach()); m_button.ModifyStyle(0,BS_BITMAP); m_button.SetBitmap(bitmap); This way bitmap is correctly displayed on button, but the button is not displayed in 3D style as normal buttons would look.   I've recently been asked to completely rewrite and redesign a web site and the owner of the company has stressed that he wants the site to be made with the latest and greatest technology available, but to avoid additional costs. As of right now, I'm torn between looking into a CMS implementation and writing a new implementation with MVC. The site is mainly brochure ware, but will need to allow the visitors to submit some data through forms. There are quite a few lists and content features that are dynamic and should be treated as such. Since ASP.NET MVC is new, I don't want to bastardize the implementation if I go that way... Any recommendations on best implementation practices for a MVC website? Also, has anyone had their MVC implementation hosted anywhere that they would recommend?

  I have a fairly pedestrian non-editable NSOutlineView setup. In the bindings for the outline view, I have set the binding to my file's owner (MyDocument FWIW) with a selector of outlineViewWasDoubleClicked The method exists and is called, but when I call -clickedRow it consistently returns -1 rather than the row number of the row that I double clicked to trigger the method. My _outlineView is an IBOutlet and I've verified that it is hooked up correctly by using -selectedRow for the method rather than -clickedRow (I would rather use -clickedRow though because it seems unintuitive for the user to have a row selected, double click another row to do something with it and have the method triggered with the row they had selected.) My best guess right now is that the -clickedRow value is getting cleared out before my method fires, but I don't know where or what might be gobbling it up. Thanks in advance for any help.

• problem with IBoutlet UITableView connection

  Hi,I'm having a problem with IBoutlet UITableView connection. It seems that the IBOutlet isn't connected to the TaleView. I set the delgate and the datasource to the files owner and set the iboutlet to the tableview in the nib. The tableview is well initialized. I just want to do some reloadData and it's not working. I try to do some deselectRow just to see if it isn't reloadData problem but it doesn't deselect so i assume that the iboutlet isn't associated with my tableview. This table view is in a viewcontroller that is called as a modalViewController. • In TFS, is there a maximum amount of workspaces which can be used for a user?

  I'm currently in the process of creating a bunch of new build scripts for our platform. Things went okay until I encountered the following error: D:\TFS\WorkingDir\BuildType\TFSBuild.proj(173,5): error MSB4018: Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Client.WorkspaceNotFoundException: TF14061: The workspace BUILDMACHINENAME_9;BUILDMACHINENAME\TFSService does not exist. When I take a look at the list of workspaces (with Team Foundation Sidekicks) I see there are a bunch of BUILDMACHINENAME_xxx workspaces, where xxx is a number ranging from 1 to 8. What I'm thinking is that TFS reaches some kind of limit (10 probably) of the amount of workspaces it can create for a certain owner, and thus fails to create a workspace for the build automatically. Can this be the case? Anyone else encountered this?

  EDIT Taking COST 100 out made the command go through, however, I'm still unable to run my query because it yields this error: ERROR: function group_concat(character) does not exist HINT: No function matches the given name and argument types. You may need to add explicit type casts.
