  • Post wall message on facebook account

    - by Zeroshade
    Hello, I am trying to implement some functionality in a blackberry app, that I saw in other application. Basically it's a window that has a message, and a Facebook icon. When you click on the icon it launches a new window, this window asks the user for permissions(user and password), and then the message is posted in the user's wall. So my question is how can I replicate that?. I have been looking at the graph api, but I just can't figure out how to do all of this in one step. I mean just typing the url in the browser, and some post data. Thanks a lot.

  • PHP cURL: get headers only from post

    - by Stewart
    There ought to be a way of sending a post request and getting back just the headers. $ch = curl_init('http://www.stackoverflow.com/'); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, true); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, true); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_NOBODY, true); doesn't work, because all setting CURLOPT_NOBODY does is to change the request method to HEAD, thereby overriding CURLOPT_POST. I could just leave the last of these lines out and only process the headers, but is there a more efficient way? It's also odd that there doesn't seem to be a way in cURL to truncate the received content to a specified length as there is with file_get_contents.

  • Sending images using Http Post

    - by primal
    I want to send an image from the android client to the Django server using Http Post. The image is chosen from the gallery. At present, I am using list value name Pairs to send the necessary data to the server and receiving responses from Django in JSON. Can the same approach be used for images (with urls for images embedded in JSON responses)? Also which of, accesssing images remotely without downloading them from the server or downloading and storing them in a Bitmap array and using them locally is a better method? The images are few in number (<10) and small in size (50*50 dip). Any tutorial to tackle these problems would be much appreciated.

  • How to delete a post in Nhibernate?

    - by marko
    I try to delete a post in NHibernate but nothing happens. Updating, selecting and inserting new items works fine but when I try to delete nothing happens. IQuery query = session.CreateQuery("from Color where name like '%" + TextBox2.Text.Trim() + "%'"); Color color = query.List<Color>()[0]; session.Delete(color); Edit: I forgot to call the flush method. Now works fine. Like this: session.Flush();

  • PHP Form (post) Repeating input in a tabel

    - by Sef
    Hello, I have a form (with post method) that takes the following input: - a certain name - a number - 3 checkboxes All this input gets generated and calculated in a table.(html code within the php) Everything gets properly calculated and displayed in a table. So my question: How do i make it possible after giving all those input to give in more input? Meaning i have made a hyperlink that goes back to the form itself (where i can give the input). So i can give in new data, and after submiting that again the table now contains 2 rows of values insteed of just 1. Not really sure what exactly i need for this. Regards.

  • Form POST or sessions?

    - by eddienotizzard
    If you have an item where you allow users to add comments, how can you pass which item the user is replying too? I've though of using a hidden field in a form, however this can be easily changed using plugins such as firebug: <form method="post" action="blah"> <input type="hidden" name="item_id" value="<?php echo $item_id; ?>"> <!-- other form data here --> <input type="submit" name="submit"> </form> Or just simply using a session: $_SESSION['item_id'] = $item_id Is there a safe way to send the item data in a form?

  • Django forms: where is POST data received?

    - by Rosarch
    I have a widget that allows user to enter data for a model field. The data in the form can't be directly converted to Python - it requires some coercion. Where do I put this code? Is the widget responsible for translating its post data to a python value? The field itself? I thought that maybe value_from_datadict() would be correct, but now it looks like that serves a different purpose. (I'm using the form in the admin interface, if it makes any difference.)

  • Rails - set POST request limit (file upload)

    - by Fabiano PS
    I am building a file uploader for Rails, using CarrierWave. I am pretty happy about it's API, except that I don't seem to be able to cut file uploads that exceed a limit on the fly. I found this plugin for validation, but the problem is that it happens after the upload is completed. It is completely unacceptable in my case, as any user could take the site down by uploading a huge file. So, I figure that the way would be to use some Rack configuration or middleware that will limit POST body size as it receives. I am hosting on Heroku, as context. *I am aware of https://github.com/dwilkie/carrierwave_direct but it doesn't solve my issue as I have to resize first and discard the original large image.

  • Adding to database with multiple text boxes

    - by kira423
    What I am trying to do with this script is allow users to update a url for their websites, and since each user isn't going to have the same amount of websites is is hard for me to just add $_POST['website'] for each of these. Here is the script <?php include("config.php"); include("header.php"); include("functions.php"); if(!isset($_SESSION['username']) && !isset($_SESSION['password'])){ header("Location: pubs.php"); } $getmember = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `publishers` WHERE username = '".$_SESSION['username']."'"); $info = mysql_fetch_array($getmember); $getsites = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `websites` WHERE publisher = '".$info['username']."'"); $postback = $_POST['website']; $webname = $_POST['webid']; if($_POST['submit']){ var_dump( $_POST['website'] ); $update = mysql_query("UPDATE `websites` SET `postback` = '$postback' WHERE name = '$webname'"); } print" <div id='center'> <span id='tools_lander'><a href='export.php'>Export Campaigns</a></span> <div id='calendar_holder'> <h3>Please define a postback for each of your websites below.   • Problem with PHP; Posting Hidden Value!!?

    - by Derek
    Hi, I have a page which basically allows an admin user to create manager user types (basically a register function. So when the values are submitted, they are stored into the DB, very very basic stuff. However, I have a hidden variable type..reasons are I have 3 different user levels and I have declared they identification as an integer (e.g. 7 = manager, 8 =user etc.) Can someone help me out with how to correctly pass this hidden value so it stores in the database... Here is my form: <form id="userreg" name="userreg" method="post" action="adminadduser-process.php"> <label>Full Name:</label> <input name="fullname" size="40" id="fullname" value="<?php if (isset($_POST['fullname'])); ?>"/> <br /> <label>Username:</label> <input name="username" size="40" id="username" value="<?php if (isset($_POST['username'])); ?>"/> <br /> <label>Password:</label> <input name="password" size="40" id="password" value="<?php if (isset($_POST['password'])); ?>"/> <br /> <label>Email Address:</label> <input name="emailaddress" size="40" id="emailaddress" value="<?php if (isset($_POST['emailaddress'])); ?>"/> <br /> <input name="userlevel" type="hidden" size="1" id="userlevel" value="<?php $_POST[5]; ?>" /> <br /> <input value="Add User" class="addbtn" type="submit" /> </form></div> Next, here is the script that runs the query: <?php require_once "config.php"; $fullname = $_POST['fullname']; $username = $_POST['username']; $password = $_POST['password']; $emailaddress = $_POST['emailaddress']; $userlevel = $_POST[5]; $sql = "INSERT INTO users_tb VALUES('".$user_id."','".$fullname."','".$username."',MD5('".$password."'),'".$emailaddress."','".$userlevel."')"; $result = mysql_query($sql, $connection) or die("MySQL Error: ".mysql_error()); header("Location: adminhome.php"); exit(); ?> I'm basically trying to pass the hidden typem with a constant value of '5' just for this form, as it will not be changed...also while im here, for some reason, the 'fullname' is not stored in the DB either!!?? WTH?? all other fields are processed fine. Any help is much appreciated! Thank you.

  • Jquery Serialize data

    - by Richard
    So I have several text boxes, drop down menus, and radio options on this form. When the user clicks submit i want to save ALL that information so I can put it into a database. So this is all the form's inputs <div id="reg2a"> First Name: <br/><input type="text" name="fname" /> <br/> Last Name: <br/><input type="text" name="lname" /> <br/> Address: <br/><input type="text" name="address" /> <br/> City: <br/><input type="text" name="city" /> <br/> State: <br/><input type="text" name="state" /> <br/> Zip Code: <br/><input type="text" name="zip" /> <br/> Phone Number: <br/><input type="text" name="phone" /> <br/> Fax: <br/><input type="text" name="fax" /> <br/> Email: <br/><input type="text" name="email" /> <br/> Ethnicity: <i>Used only for grant reporting purposes</i> <br/><input type="text" name="ethnicity" /> <br/><br/> Instutional Information Type (select the best option) <br/> <select name="iitype"> <option value="none">None</option> <option value="uni">University</option> <option value="commorg">Community Organization</option> </select> <br/><br/> Number of sessions willing to present: <select id="vennum_select" name="vnum"> <?php for($i=0;$i<=3;$i++) { ?> <option value="<?php echo $i ?>"><?php echo $i ?></option> <?php } ?><br/> </select><br/> Number of tables requested: <select id="tabnum_select" name="tnum"> <?php for($i=1;$i<=3;$i++) { ?> <option value="<?php echo $i ?>"><?php echo $i ?></option> <?php } ?> </select><br/><br/> Awarding of a door prize during the conference will result in a reduction in the cost of your first table. <br/><br/> I am providing a door prize for delivery during the conference of $75 or more <select id="prize_select" name="pnum"> <option value="0">No</option> <option value="1">Yes</option> </select><br/> Prize name: <input type="text" name="prize_name" /><br/> Description: <input type="text" name="descr" /><br/> Value: <input type="text" name="retail" /><br/><br/> Name of Institution: <br/><input type="text" name="institution" /> <br/><br/> Type (select the best option) <br/> <select name="type"> <option value="none">None</option> <option value="k5">K-5</option> <option value="k8">K-8</option> <option value="68">6-8</option> <option value="912">9-12</option> </select> <br/><br/> Address: <br/><input type="text" name="address_sch" /> <br/> City: <br/><input type="text" name="city_sch" /> <br/> State: <br/><input type="text" name="state_sch" /> <br/> Zip Code: <br/><input type="text" name="zip_sch" /> <br/> <form name="frm2sub" id="frm2sub" action="page3.php" method="post"> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit" id="submit" /> </form> </div> This is my jquery function: $("#frm2sub").submit( function() { var values = {}; values["fname"] = $("#fname").val(); }); I can do this for each one of the input boxes but I want to give all this data to the next page. So how do I put this array into $_POST? Btw, I've tried doing var data = $("#reg2a").serialize(); and var data = $(document).serialize(); Data ended up being empty. Any ideas? Thanks

  • Best way to escape characters before jquery post ASP.NET MVC

    - by Darcy
    Hello, I am semi-new to ASP.NET MVC. I am building an app that is used internally for my company. The scenario is this: There are two Html.Listbox's. One has all database information, and the other is initally empty. The user would add items from the database listbox to the empty listbox. Every time the user adds a command, I call a js function that calls an ActionResult "AddCommand" in my EditController. In the controller, the selected items that are added are saved to another database table. Here is the code (this gets called every time an item is added): function Add(listbox) { ... //skipping initializing code for berevity var url = "/Edit/AddCommand/" + cmd; $.post(url); } So the problem occurs when the 'cmd' is an item that has a '/', ':', '%', '?', etc (some kind of special character) So what I'm wondering is, what's the best way to escape these characters? Right now I'm checking the database's listbox item's text, and rebuilding the string, then in the Controller, I'm taking that built string and turning it back into its original state. So for example, if the item they are adding is 'Cats/Dogs', I am posting 'Cats[SLASH]Dogs' to the controller, and in the controller changing it back to 'Cats/Dogs'. Obviously this is a horrible hack, so I must be missing something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • WCF Manual SOAP POST using HttpWebRequest over https with Usertoken

    - by VonBlender
    Hi, I'm writing a client that calls a number of WCF webservices (written externallyt to my company) that are very similar in structure. The design I was hoping to use is to manually build the SOAP message from XML chunks that are stored in a database and then processed through a generic web service handler class. I have access to the WSDL's for each webservice and example working XML. The design approach is such that we can easily add to the message dynamically, hence the reason for not using the auto generated proxy classes I am basically at the last part now with the entire SOAP message constructed but am getting a SOAP fault security error returned. I have used fiddler to compare the message I'm sending with one that is sent using the normal (far simpler...) WCF generated proxy classes and can't see any difference apart from the id attribute of the Usertoken element in the SOAP header. This is where my lack of experience in this area isn't helping. I think this is because the id is generated automatically (presumably because we're using https). My question is how do I generate this programatically? I have searched for hours online but the majority of solutions are either using the proxy classes or not over https. I have briefly looked at WCE but aware this is replaced by WCF now so don't want to waste time looking into this if it's not the solution. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I can post some code examples when I'm back in work if it will help but the method I'm using is very straightforward and only using XElements and such like at the moment (as we're using linq to sql). thanks, Andy

  • jQuery addClass on $.post

    - by Tim
    I am basically trying to create a small registration form. If the username is already taken, I want to add the 'red' class, if not then 'green'. The PHP here works fine, and returns either a "YES" or "NO" to determine whether it's ok. The CSS: input { border:1px solid #ccc; } .red { border:1px solid #c00; } .green { border:1px solid green; background:#afdfaf; } The Javascript I'm using is: $("#username").change(function() { var value = $("#username").val(); if(value!= '') { $.post("check.php", { value: value }, function(data){ $("#test").html(data); if(data=='YES') { $("#username").removeClass('red').addClass('green'); } if(data=='NO') { $("#username").removeClass('green').addClass('red'); } }); } }); I've got the document.ready stuff too... It all works fine because the #test div html changes to either "YES" or "NO", apart from the last part where I check what the value of the data is. Here is the php: $value=$_POST['value']; if ($value!="") { $sql="select * FROM users WHERE username='".$value."'"; $query = mysql_query($sql) or die ("Could not match data because ".mysql_error()); $num_rows = mysql_num_rows($query); if ($num_rows 0) { echo "NO"; } else { echo "YES"; } }

  • Wordpress dynamic navigation function for highlighting single post tabs

    - by user269959
    I am trying to write a function that i can reuse in my wordpress themes that will allow me to build robust dynamic navigation menus. Here is what i have so far: function tab_maker($page_name, $href, $tabname) { //opens <li> tag to allow active class to be inserted if tab is on proper page echo "<li"; //checks that we are on current page and highlights tab as active if so if(is_page($page_name)){ echo " class='current_page_item'>"; } //closes <li> tab if not active else { echo ">"; } //inserts the link as $href and the name of the tab to appear as $tabname then closes <li> echo "<a href=$href>$tabname</a>"; echo "</li>"; } This code works as expected except i cant enable it to highlight for a single blog post as the page names are dynamic. I know about the wordpress function is_single() which ive used to implement this feature in previous nav menus but i cant find a way to integrate it into this function. appreciate any help!

  • How to debug jQuery ajax POST to .NET webservice

    - by Nick
    Hey all. I have a web service that I have published locally. I wrote an HTML page to test the web service. The webservice is expecting a string that will be XML. When I debug the web service from within VS everything works great. I can use FireBug and see that my web service is indeed being hit by they AJAX call. After deploying the web service locally to IIS it does not appear to be working. I need to know the best way to trouble shoot this problem. My AJAX js looks like this: function postSummaryXml(data) { $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: 'http://localhost/collection/services/datacollector.asmx/SaveSummaryDisplayData', data: { xml: data }, error: function(result) { alert(result); }, success: function(result) { alert(result); } }); The web method looks like so: [WebMethod] public string SaveSummaryDisplayData(string xml) { XmlDocument xmlDocument = new XmlDocument(); xmlDocument.LoadXml(xml); XmlParser parser = new XmlParser(xmlDocument); IModel repository = new Repository(); if(repository.AddRecord("TestData",parser.TestValues)) { return "true"; } return "false"; } } I added the return string to the web method in an attempt to ensure that the web-service is really hit from the ajax. The problem is this: In FF the 'Success' function is always called yet the result is always 'NULL'. And the web method does not appear to have worked (no data saved). In IE the 'Error' function is called and the response is server error: 500. I think (believe it or not) IE is giving me a more accurate indication that something is wrong but I cannnot determine what the issue is. Can someone please suggest how I should expose the specific server error message? Thanks for the help!

  • Get Mechanize to handle cookies from an arbitrary POST (to log into a website programmatically)

    - by Horace Loeb
    I want to log into https://www.t-mobile.com/ programmatically. My first idea was to use Mechanize to submit the login form: However, it turns out that this isn't even a real form. Instead, when you click "Log in" some javascript grabs the values of the fields, creates a new form dynamically, and submits it. "Log in" button HTML: <button onclick="handleLogin(); return false;" class="btnBlue" id="myTMobile-login"><span>Log in</span></button> The handleLogin() function: function handleLogin() { if (ValidateMsisdnPassword()) { // client-side form validation logic var a = document.createElement("FORM"); a.name = "form1"; a.method = "POST"; a.action = mytmoUrl; // defined elsewhere as https://my.t-mobile.com/Login/LoginController.aspx var c = document.createElement("INPUT"); c.type = "HIDDEN"; c.value = document.getElementById("myTMobile-phone").value; // the value of the phone number input field c.name = "txtMSISDN"; a.appendChild(c); var b = document.createElement("INPUT"); b.type = "HIDDEN"; b.value = document.getElementById("myTMobile-password").value; // the value of the password input field b.name = "txtPassword"; a.appendChild(b); document.body.appendChild(a); a.submit(); return true } else { return false } } I could simulate this form submission by POSTing the form data to https://my.t-mobile.com/Login/LoginController.aspx with Net::HTTP#post_form, but I don't know how to get the resultant cookie into Mechanize so I can continue to scrape the UI available when I'm logged in. Any ideas?

  • add new option to dropdownlist after jquery dialog and post

    - by RememberME
    I have a form to enter subcontracts. On this form I have a dropdownlist of all companies in the system. Next to it is a button "Create Company". This button opens a jquery dialog which allows the user to create a new company. Once the dialog closes, the new company needs to be added to the dropdownlist and selected. If I refresh, it's there, but I need to do it without refreshing the form b/c I don't want the user to loose everything that they've entered into the other fields. I'm not sure how to do this b/c I don't have the guid of the new company. My jquery dialog: $('#popupCreateCompany').dialog( { autoOpen: false, modal: true, buttons: { 'Add': function() { var dialog = $(this); var form = dialog.find('input:text, select'); $.post('/company/create', $(form).serialize(), function() { dialog.dialog('close'); }) }, 'Cancel': function() { $(this).dialog('close'); } } }); $("#create-company").click(function() { $('#popupCreateCompany').dialog('open'); }); Company field: <label for="company">Company:</label> <%= Html.DropDownList("company", Model.SelectCompanies, "** Select Company **") %> <%= Html.ValidationMessage("Company", "*") %> <button type="button" id="create-company" >Create Company</button>

  • jQuery ajax form submit - multiple post/get requests caused when validation fails

    Hi, I have a problem where if a form submission (set up to submit via AJAX) fails validation, the next time the form is submitted, it doubles the number of post requests - which is definitely not what I want to happen. I'm using the jQuery ValidationEngine plugin to submit forms and bind validation messages to my fields. This is my code below. I think my problem may lie in the fact that I'm retrieving the form action attribute via $('.form_container form').attr('action') - I had to do it this way as using $(this).attr was picking up the very first loaded form's action attr - however, when i was loading new forms into the page it wouldn't pick up the new form's action correctly, until i removed the $(this) selector and referenced it using the class. Can anyone see what I might be doing wrong here? (Note I have 2 similar form handlers which are loaded on domready, that could also be an issue) $('input#eligibility').live("click", function(){ $(".form_container form").validationEngine({ ajaxSubmit: true, ajaxSubmitFile: $('.form_container form').attr('action'), success : function() { var url = $('input.next').attr('rel'); ajaxFormStage(url); }, failure : function() { //unique stuff for this form } }); }); //generic form handler - all form submissions not flagged with the #eligibility id $('input.next:not(#eligibility)').live("click", function(){ $(".form_container form").validationEngine({ ajaxSubmit: true, ajaxSubmitFile: $('.form_container form').attr('action'), success : function() { var url = $('input.next').attr('rel'); ajaxFormStage(url); }, failure : function() { } }); });

  • The "first past the post election" query problem

    - by MPelletier
    This problem may seem like school work, but it isn't. At best it is self-imposed school work. I encourage any teachers to take is as an example if they wish. "First past the post" elections are single-round, meaning that whoever gets the most votes win, no second rounds. Suppose a table for an election. CREATE TABLE ElectionResults ( DistrictHnd INTEGER NOT NULL, PartyHnd INTEGER NOT NULL, CandidateName VARCHAR2(100) NOT NULL, TotalVotes INTEGER NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY DistrictHnd, PartyHnd); The table has two foreign keys: DistrictHnd points to a District table (lists all the different electoral districts) and PartyHnd points to a Party table (lists all the different political parties). I won't bother with other tables here, joining them is trivial. This is just a wee bit of context. The question: What SQL query will return a table listing the DistrictHnd, PartyHnd, CandidateName and TotalVotes of the winners (max votes) in each District? This does not suppose any particular database system. If you wish to stick to a particular implementation of SQL, go the way of SQLite and MySQL. If you can devise a better schema (or an easier one), that is acceptable too. Criteria: simplicity, portability to other databases.

  • PHP4: Send XML over HTTPS/POST via cURL?

    - by starmonkey
    I wrote a class/function to send xml over https via PHP4/cURL, just wondering if this is the correct approach, or if there's a better one. Note that PHP5 is not an option at present. /** * Send XML via http(s) post * * curl --header "Content-Type: text/xml" --data "<?xml version="1.0"?>...." http://www.foo.com/ * */ function sendXmlOverPost($url, $xml) { $ch = curl_init(); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $url); // For xml, change the content-type. curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, Array("Content-Type: text/xml")); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, 1); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $xml); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1); // ask for results to be returned if(CurlHelper::checkHttpsURL($url)) { curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, 0); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST, 0); } // Send to remote and return data to caller. $result = curl_exec($ch); curl_close($ch); return $result; } cheers!

  • Can't get data with spaces into the database from Ajax POST request

    - by J Jones
    I have a real simple form with a textbox and a button, and my goal is to have an asynchronous request (jQuery: $.ajax) send the text to the server (PHP/mysql a la Joomla) so that it can be added to a database table. Here's the javascript that is sending the data from the client: var value= $('#myvalue').val(); $.ajax( { type: "POST", url: "/administrator/index.php", data: { option: "com_mycomponent", task: "enterValue", thevalue: value, format: "raw"}, dataType: "text", success: reportSavedValue } ); The problem arises when the user enters text with a space in it. The $_POST variable that I receive has all the spaces stripped out, so that if the user enters "This string has spaces", the server gets the value "Thisstringhasspaces". I have been googling around, and have found lots of references that I need to use encodeURIComponent. So I have tried it, but now the value that I get from $_POST is "This20string20has20spaces". So it appears to be encoding it the way I would expect, only to have the percent signs stripped instead of the spaces, and leaving the hex numbers. I'm really confused. It seems that this sort of question is asked and answered everywhere on the web, and everywhere encodeURIComponent is hailed as the silver bullet. But apparently I'm fighting a different breed of lycanthrope. Does anyone have any suggestions?
