How to implement an ListView containing images with style

So I have been working with an app where I need to show the thumbnails as clean and use the space in a good way. Style A is my work until now. What I want to accomplish is something like style B. no titles and use the space in a good way. I need help with this. there was no tutorial on the net. I have started the coding part but am not sure how can I detect the hexadecimal numbers and eventually change the style and save it back in the file... What's your preferred pointer declaration style, and why?

I know this is about as bad as it gets for "religious" issues, as Jeff calls them. But I want to know why the people who disagree with me on this do so, and hear their justification for their horrific style. I googled for a while and couldn't find a style guide talking about this. So here's how I feel pointers (and references) should be declared: int* pointer = NULL; int& ref = *pointer; int*& pointer_ref = pointer; The asterisk or ampersand goes with the type, because it modifies the type of the variable being declared. EDIT: I hate to keep repeating the word, but when I say it modifies the type I'm speaking semantically. "int* something;" would translate into English as something like "I declare something, which is a pointer to an integer." The "pointer" goes along with the "integer" much more so than it does with the "something." In contrast, the other uses of the ampersand and asterisk, as address-of and dereferencing operators, act on a variable. Here are the other two styles (maybe there are more but I really hope not): int *ugly_but_common; int * uglier_but_fortunately_less_common; Why? Really, why? I can never think of a case where the second is appropriate, and the first only suitable perhaps with something like: int *hag, *beast; But come now... multiple variable declarations on one line is kind of ugly form in itself already.

Stop Child Elements from Inheriting Parent Style, Broken Tabs Javascript

I am using the flowplayer jquery tabs plugin: http://flowplayer.org/tools/tabs/index.html Im having mucho difficulty when placing my child elements inside the panes divs, and stopping them from inheriting the style of the container pane div. Its breaking my layout to pieces and i need to know how to override the style and just keep the container panes div only to itself. Also, im having a devil of a time trying to call 2 different sets of tabs and panes. Im not getting the classes and IDs right, the javascript, or something along those lines. How would i set this up so i can call (tabs A / panes A) and then (tabs B / panes B), css wise, and javascript wise? Angular ng-style not changing with property

For the life of me I cant seem to figure out why the style property is not getting updated. In my larger application it seems to work fine. http://jsfiddle.net/ganarajpr/C2hRa/4/ Here is a fiddle which shows the issue I am currently facing. You will notice that the width and height are getting updated in the div when you change the input. But the style itself doesnt seem to be updating. Anyone can tell me what I am doing wrong here? I have tried all the following scenarios using $scope.$apply.. - Throws an error stating $apply already in progress.. $rootScope.$apply - same as above. Setting another variable in a service which is $watched in the other controller. - no change seen. It would be really cool if someone can get me an answer to this. Also would be really happy if you can tell me why exactly it is not getting updated.

MSTest/NUnit Writing BDD style "Given, When, Then" tests

I have been using MSpec to write my unit tests and really prefer the BDD style, I think it's a lot more readable. I'm now using Silverlight which MSpec doesn't support so I'm having to use MSTest but would still like to maintain a BDD style so am trying to work out a way to do this. Just to explain what I'm trying to acheive, here's how I'd write an MSpec test [Subject(typeof(Calculator))] public class when_I_add_two_numbers : with_calculator { Establish context = () => this.Calculator = new Calculator(); Because I_add_2_and_4 = () => this.Calculator.Add(2).Add(4); It should_display_6 = () => this.Calculator.Result.ShouldEqual(6); } public class with_calculator { protected static Calculator; } So with MSTest I would try to write the test like this (although you can see it won't work because I've put in 2 TestInitialize attributes, but you get what I'm trying to do..) Connecting an overloaded PyQT signal using new-style syntax

I am designing a custom widget which is basically a QGroupBox holding a configurable number of QCheckBox buttons, where each one of them should control a particular bit in a bitmask represented by a QBitArray. In order to do that, I added the QCheckBox instances to a QButtonGroup, with each button given an integer ID: def populate(self, num_bits, parent = None): """ Adds check boxes to the GroupBox according to the bitmask size """ self.bitArray.resize(num_bits) layout = QHBoxLayout() for i in range(num_bits): cb = QCheckBox() cb.setText(QString.number(i)) self.buttonGroup.addButton(cb, i) layout.addWidget(cb) self.setLayout(layout) Then, each time a user would click on a checkbox contained in self.buttonGroup, I'd like self.bitArray to be notified so I can set/unset the corresponding bit in the array. For that I intended to connect QButtonGroup's buttonClicked(int) signal to QBitArray's toggleBit(int) method and, to be as pythonic as possible, I wanted to use new-style signals syntax, so I tried this: self.buttonGroup.buttonClicked.connect(self.bitArray.toggleBit) The problem is that buttonClicked is an overloaded signal, so there is also the buttonClicked(QAbstractButton*) signature. In fact, when the program is executing I get this error when I click a check box: The debugged program raised the exception unhandled TypeError "QBitArray.toggleBit(int): argument 1 has unexpected type 'QCheckBox'" which clearly shows the toggleBit method received the buttonClicked(QAbstractButton*) signal instead of the buttonClicked(int) one. So, the question is, how can we specify, using new-style syntax, that self.buttonGroup emits the buttonClicked(int) signal instead of the default overload - buttonClicked(QAbstractButton*)?

Hi I am using jquery 1.3.2 and asp.net mvc 1.0. Originally I was using some other rich html editor but I ran into one major problem when a user pasted in text from open office or MS office it would bring along tons of styling junk. If a user like wrote one sentence what was like 25 characters and pasted that into my current html editor the count would 25,000 characters and I don't want to store all that junk( I can't afford to). So tinyMCE seems to not have this problem. However I got some questions. It seems if you want to use for commercial use(what my site is but currently is not making very much at this time) you need to get a commercial license. However it does not say if it is free or if it will cost money. I am assuming it means that you will have to pay but I would like to confirm this. So do you have to pay for a license to use tinyMCe if your using it for commercial use? (Yes/ No) ------------------ Answer the following questions if you said "no" to the first question ----------- So would I use the jQuery package then or is it better to use the other versions? What is this .net compressor zip for? Do I need it? I only want a few of the buttons(like bold,font size) can I remove the other buttons? It seems to display a word count. Can it be changed to character count? ----------------- Answer the following question if you said "yes" to the first question -------- Is there a rich html editor that is free for commercial use and preferably for jquery that can remove the junk that office programs seem to bring along? How to parse out MS Word formatting?

I have a rich html textbox on my asp.net mvc application. The rich html textbox is some jquery plugin that I use and has basic stuff like bold,underline and etc. Now I am anticipating that people will maybe write something in word and then copy and paste it into my textbox. However I limit the number of characters a person can have. This is a test to show how much formatting gets made. • One • Two • Three So I wrote that above(it does not copy to well into here). Basically it is a line of text and "how" is bold and the "one,two,three" are a bullet list. Word says it is 70 characters long with spacing. SquirrelMail (Courier) IMAP Issue

Alright, so I'm having this issue with SquirrelMail and Courier IMAP. When I try to login to SM, it throws this error at me: ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server. The IMAP server is running on 993 without SSL (which might be the problem). How do I fix this, and I've already taken a look at the official documentation in relation to this error with no fix.

Snort install issue on debian 6 with libpcre - libpcre library not found

I've read the manual on snort.org for installing snort on Debian but am still having an issue. Does anyone know how to resolve this? I've tried installing the libpcre3 amd libpcre3-dev packages by using apt-get and also manually installing by downloading the latest version off the tcpdump website. Any ideas? Checking for pcre-compile in -l pcre...no Error! Libpcre library not found. Get it from http://www.pcre.org

Django + gunicorn + virtualenv + Supervisord issue

Dear all, I have a strange issue with my virtualenv + gunicorn setup, only when gunicorn is launched via supervisord. I do realize that it may very well be an issue with my supervisord and I would appreciate any feedback on a better place to ask for help... In a nutshell : when I run gunicorn from my user shell, inside my virtualenv, everything is working flawlessly. I'm able to access all the views of my Django project. When gunicorn is launched by supervisord at the system startup, everything is OK. But, if I have to kill the gunicorn_django processes, or if I perform a supervisord restart, once that gunicorn_django has relaunched, every request is answered with a weird Traceback : (...) I should mention the fact that I was able to use jumbo frames between my PC and NAS before I purchased the switch without issue. My Desktop has a wired gigabit NIC (Intel 82579V Gigabit) and has the ability to configure jumbo frames (see pic) that are either 9014 bytes or 4088 bytes. I choose 9014 bytes for the jumbo frame size My NAS supports jumbo frames as well, and is configured to use 9014 as the frame size. When I go into my Netgear managed switch and set the frame size to 9014 on the ports I am using for my PC and NAS. See image As soon as I hit apply in the web interface, I loose my connection to the SMB shares on my NAS and I can no longer connect to the web admin interface for my NAS. The really strange thing is I can ping my NAS via the ping command, but when I try to connect to the web interface on port 80 or port 443 the page never loads. I did a scan from my PC to my NAS using nmap and I can see the following ports open PORT STATE SERVICE 22/tcp open ssh 80/tcp open http 111/tcp open rpcbind 139/tcp open netbios-ssn 443/tcp open https 445/tcp open microsoft-ds 631/tcp open ipp 2000/tcp open cisco-sccp 2049/tcp open nfs 3260/tcp open iscsi 49152/tcp open unknown MAC Address: 00:14:FD:15:00:44 (Thecus Technology) Read data files from: C:\Program Files (x86)\Nmap Nmap done: 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 211.97 seconds Raw packets sent: 1 (28B) | Rcvd: 1 (28B) Anyone have any idea what is going on here? Why is nmap able to detect the ports are open and listening for http, https and file sharing but I cant connect when all devices have jumbo packets enabled? Stranger still - I did a packet capture using wireshark while the nmap scan was running and filtered so I only saw converstations between my PC and my NAS. Here are the packet details from my scan Only 4 packets over 5k bytes? What is going on here? Do I not need to configure jumbo frame sizes on the switch? I have an internet connection from my pc to the switch to my router - I just cannot connect to my NAS. I just checked on my iPhone and I am able to open my NAS web admin interface without issue on my iPhone! WTF!!!!!! Let me know if you need more details..

Remote Web in SBS 2011 Essentials (SSL Issue)

I am having an issue setting up Remote Web in SBS 2011 Essentials. Everything works except Remote Desktop, which keeps giving me SSL cert errors. Is there a way to override the TS Gateway's decision to not allow cert errors? If not, the specific error I am getting is that Remote Desktop is trying to connect using the DNS short name of our domain controller, but the certificate uses the FQDN, and as such, it reports an error and the connection never happens. Any ideas?

nginx connection time issue on some IPs

I have recently shifted my server to nginx and php-fpm getting rid of apache. This has helped improves speeds of my website. Everything seems to work fine until i came across this issue, i noticed that nginx keeps throwing connection time out errors for only certain IPs. One of the IPs is my office IP, we have a backend that is accessed from our office through out the day. issue with eclipse after checking out project from svn

After checking out a project from SVN, I am getting the following prompt in eclipse any time I try to change anything in the code: The compilation unit is not in the build path of the project There is no Java build path option when I right click on the project. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot or fix the issue will be greatly appreciated. Note: I tried changing the project file manually but now my project files are being displayed in separate directories inside the trunk.

Hey, I have obtained an SSL certificate by Thawte for domain.com Now my infrastructure changed due to heavy load I have mx.domain.com as SMTP relay storage.domain.com as Mail-Storage and domain.com pointing at Web-Server Every server is hosted on another dedicated/virtual server with individual IP. I do not want to put the Web-Server on the Mail-Storage for security reasons but I do want to use my SSL-Certificate for the Mail-Storage(POP3S/IMAPS). Is that possible or how do I solve that issue?

Sun Solaris Server Voltage issue

Configure nginx to reverse proxy a single url, and issue 301 redirects to everything else

Windows Server 2008 Stnd - Wins Issue Possibly???

Currently we have a freshly setup Windows Server 2008 server acting as DNS and AD,Print and File server. I setup VPN and routing services and was able to successfully connect through VPN however I can't resolve any host using NETBios names. Only IP addresses. Sounds like I need to add a role for WINS but since this is a LIVE environment I'm a little hesitant about adding and removing additions to the box. What would I need to do to resolve this issue?
