  • Is there a way to hide text from descriptions in Google

    The first line of text on all of our client's product pages is "Download hi-res images", which of course isn't what we'd want in the description when people search for their products. Is there any way to hide this text/link so that Google and the others just ignore it and go on into the text description below? I suppose we could use a meta-description, but the client isn't very good at computers and it's such a small site it seems silly.

    Not sure why. I grabbed the code from: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like/ And as stated there, we can read: "href - the URL to like. The XFBML version defaults to the current page.     I have VS2010 Ultimate on my dev machine, along with ReSharper, VSCommands2010 and few others. settings for vs2010, resharper, and other plugins get reset every once in a while - so i have to go in and set them up again, then restart VS for new settings to kick in. examples of settings i'm talking about: *resharper intellisense ingreation *resharper highlite current line *resharper participation in customer program (systray icon) *VSCommands2010 regex solution name *etc. is it possible to make VS remember all those settings once and forever.

    Pre: I'm new with Maven. I used a lot of ant before. Qst: I decided to switch my project to maven since there are a lot of dependencies. But I have custom step in package phase (I'm BB dev - packing and signing) which is not available in maven yet. To process these tasks I have to download additional execs/jars. Is it common/have sense in Maven philosophy to load additional tools? Sure I could call ant from maven but it's not a question. Any helpful book about maven phases, philosophy and uses?

    Are there any plugins for MediaWiki that would allow me to create a page that has a form at the top that when filled in populates tags further down in the document? Say someone would put a form with "Source Server:" and "Destination Server:" fields at the top. Once those were typed in it would automatically populate those names into the content lower so that when following the instructions you could just read the docs and not have to mentally replace things, and possibly mess it all up. I'm not looking to make pages that are permanent, just ones that can have values entered before they are followed. Any suggestions?

    I've forgotten how to do this. In Windows, you can create a new text document "blah.txt" Inside blah, you can enter a url like http://kongregate.com Then.....??? I forget this step Then you change the file extension of the file to "blah.html" When you double click the file, it acts as a shortcut/hyperlink and takes you to the url you entered in the text file. Can someone tell me what the missing step it? There is something else I need to enter with the url, but I don't know what it is.

    I can get it to read the text file until it becomes a comma delimited text file. I would like to read the two variables on each line and test each one with a If statement for another condition. Problem is I can't read the variables properly. Tried many things but here is what I will post.     I have a column which contains: € 53,28 € 1.336,0 € 69,90 € 296,50 € 899,00 € 149,90 € 697,40 and so on. I want to sum the column up, but for openoffice it is text and not a decimal. What I did: =SUBSTITUTE(F7,".","") to get rid of the the dot |€ 1336,0| =SUBSTITUTE(G7,"€","") to get rid of the euro symbol | 1336,0| =RIGHT(H7, LEN(H7)-1) to get rid of the blank |1336,0| =SUBSTITUTE(I7,",",".") to change the comma to dots |1336.0| and after that I copy the whole column and paste it as "unformatted text" only after these steps I get a number with which openoffice can work. Isn't there an easier way???
