  • Problems with CGPoint in touches event

    - by Jason
I'm having some problems with storing variables from my touch events. The warning I get when I run this is that coord and icoord are unused, but I used them in the viewDidLoad implementation, is there a reason why this does not work? Any suggestions? -(void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch *touch = [[event allTouches] anyObject]; CGPoint icoord = [touch locationInView:touch.view]; } -(void)touchesMoved:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch *touch = [[event allTouches] anyObject]; CGPoint coord = [touch locationInView:touch.view]; } - (void)viewDidLoad { if (coord.x > icoord.x) { player.center = CGPointMake(player.center.x + 5, player.center.y); } } Thanks.

  • DisplayObject.rotation not matching trig functions

    - by futuraprime
I'm trying to label an animated pie chart, and I've been having a great deal of trouble getting rotated objects to line up with trigonometrically-positioned objects. So, for example, if I have a pie piece that's middle is angle theta and has been rotated n degrees in a tween, and then I try to position a label with code like this: label.x = center.x + Math.cos((theta + n)/180 * Math.PI) * radius; label.y = center.y + Math.sin((theta + n)/180 * Math.PI) * radius; the label is often not aligned with the center of the pie slice. Since I am also zooming in to the pie chart a great deal, the error becomes significant enough that it occasionally causes the label to miss the pie slice altogether. The error seems relatively unpredictable, and it looks a great deal like a rounding error, but I don't see any obvious rounding going on (the trig functions evaluate to ten or so decimal places, which should be more than enough here). How can I get these labels to position correctly?

  • A couple PHP/MySQL questions...

    - by Jeff
    I am a college student taking a course in php and mysql progamming and my first question is about the "$variable" variables in the following code: <?php ob_start(); ?> <?php session_start(); if ($_SESSION['auth'] != "true") { header("Location: login.php"); exit; } $uid = $_SESSION['user']; $connection = mysql_connect("localhost", "username", "password"); mysql_select_db("username", $connection); $result = mysql_query ( "SELECT * FROM users where user_id = '$uid'", $connection); $num = mysql_numrows($result); $i=0; while ($i < $num) { $f1=mysql_result($result,$i,"firstname"); $f2=mysql_result($result,$i,"lastname"); ?> <html><body> <p> <td><center><font size = "18" face="Arial"><?php echo "Name: $f1 "; echo $f2; ?> </font></center></td> </p> </body></html> <?php $i++; } ?> <?php $result1 = mysql_query ( "SELECT * FROM phone where user_id = '$uid'", $connection); $num1 = mysql_numrows($result1); $j=0; while ($j < $num1) { $f3=mysql_result($result1,$j,"type"); $f4=mysql_result($result1,$j,"number"); ?> <html><body> <p> <br> <td><center><font size = "12" face="Arial"><?php echo "$f5: "; echo "($f3) "; echo "$f4 <br />"; ?> </font></center></td> </p> </body></html> <?php $j++; } ?> <?php $result2 = mysql_query ( "SELECT * FROM address where user_id = '$uid'", $connection); $num2 = mysql_numrows($result2); $h=0; while ($h < $num2) { $f6=mysql_result($result2,$h,"type"); $f7=mysql_result($result2,$h,"address"); $f8=mysql_result($result2,$h,"city"); $f9=mysql_result($result2,$h,"state"); $f10=mysql_result($result2,$h,"zip"); ?> <html><body> <p> <br> <td><center><font size = "12" face="Arial"><?php echo "$f10 Address: $f6, $f7, $f8 $f9"; ?></font></center></td> </p> </body></html> <?php $h++; } ?> <?php include 'navbar.php'; ob_end_flush(); ?> I just don't really understand the $variables at all. Are they user-generated or are they entities in the database? And how does the code know which $result is which? My second question is that, if this was someone else in my class's code and I wanted to modify it to make it my own and substitute my own variables, how would I go about doing that? Do the $variables need to be changed if they are not user-defined and if so, how? I apologize if these are dumb questions, but I am a beginner at this programming language. Thanks in advance for your help. -Jeff

  • Removing views from UIScrollView

    - by mohan
I have two UIScrollViews that I move images between. The user can drag and forth between the scroll views. I am trying to animate the movement of the image from one scroll view to another. In -touchesMoved (handled in my UIViewController which has two custom UIScrollViews that intercept touch and sends to my UIViewController), I am trying to set the "center" of my UIImageView that is being moved. As it is moved, the image gets hidden behind the UIScrollView and not visible. How do I make it appear on top of the UIScrollView? I am able to handle the -touchesEnded properly by animating in the destination scroll view. I am also confused about -convertPoint:fromView: usage in the iPhone Programming Guide (See Chapter 3, Event Handling). If the touch coordinates are in window coordinates, to change my view (UIImageView inside a UIScrollView which is inside a UIView and inside a window) center don't I have to use -convertPoint:toView:, i.e., imageView.center = [self.view.window convertPoint:currentTouchPosition toView:imageView]; What am I missing?

  • Display Img and Div inline - it's not rendered inline

    - by user359372
In order to follow correct web standards, I've tried to layout image and div inline. In orde to achieve that - I've used display:inline property. But then I experienced the following issue: image renders from the center line, and div doesn't respect height parameter set to it. I've tried using line-height parameter, but that didn't give any useful results. I've also tried various combinations with setting margin/padding to some values or to auto, or replacing div with span, or wrapping img and div with additional divs. I've managed to achieve desired result by using position:absolute, but that doesn't help in cases where I want to use centered/relative positioning of the whole component... Any clues or ideas or troubleshooting hints? Please find the html example below: Test Page Some text that should be displayed in the center/middle of the div 123   Some text that should be displayed in the center/middle of the div

  • iPhone Pong Advanced Deflection Angle

    - by CherryBun
Hi, I am currently developing a simple Pong game for the iPhone. Currently using CGRectIntersectsRect for the collision detection and as for the deflection of the ball when it hits the paddle, I just multiply the ball velocity with -1 (therefore reversing the direction of the ball). What I am trying to do is to make it so that when the ball hits the paddle, it checks whether how far is the ball from the center of the paddle, and increases the deflection angle the further the ball is away from the center of the paddle. (E.g. In this case, the ball will be deflected back at 90 degrees no matter where it came from, as long as it hits the center of the paddle) How am I suppose to do that? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Strange centering problem in Firefox and IE8

    - by Davy8
The navigation bar on my site http://hungryathome.net doesn't center properly on Firefox and IE8 Standards mode. It centers properly in IE7 Compatability mode and in Chrome. What's odd is that setting a Margin on the div (id="navlinks") to 4px or more will make it center properly. Any less will result in it being slightly off-center. I changed the values back and forth in Firebug and it's confusing the heck out of me. Any explanation for why that's happening?

  • Can we you the attached properties in C# class library?

    - by Manas Agarwal
Hi I have implemented the Observer Pattern with lazy load. The class that requests the data from the database is a singleton class. Now I am able to load the data from one database (located in one datacenter) very easily. But I need to get the data from other data centers too and display on the same UI. I can somehow pass the address of second data center and fetch the data from there also. But once I will get the data from second data center, it will be added to earlier list only. So later it will be thought for me to distinguish between the data. So I thought of attaching a property with the result set, so that while displaying the output I can show the data for both the data centers separately but on the same UI. I thought of attached property as an option where I can attach the data center name with the list of the data obtained. How is it possible to do in C#? Thanks Manas

  • Trying to generate proportionally cropped thumbnails at a fixed width/height with PHP GD

    - by Chuck
I'm trying to create a Thumbnail Generator in PHP with GD that will take an image and reduce it to a fixed width/height. The square it takes from the original image (based on my fixed width/height) will come from the center of the image to give a proportionally correct thumbnail. I'll try to demonstrate that confusing sentence with some nice ASCII :} LANDSCAPE EXAMPLE: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXOOOOOOOOXXXX XXXXOOOOOOOOXXXX XXXXOOOOOOOOXXXX XXXXOOOOOOOOXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX PORTRAIT EXAMPLE: XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX OOOOOOOO OOOOOOOO OOOOOOOO OOOOOOOO XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX As you can see, it pulls out a square from the center of the image to use as a thumbnail. It seems simple, in theory, to get the height/width of the image and then calculate the offset based on my fixed width/height to get the thumbnail. But I can't seem to think of a way to code it :/ Also, how would I go about resizing the image before pulling out the center square? So the thumbnail contains a detailed image of the original rather than some zoomed in graphic?

  • Finding the centroid of a polygon?

    - by user146780
I have tried: for each vertex, add to total, divide by number of verities to get center. I'v also tried: Find the topmost, bottommost - get midpoint... find leftmost, rightmost, find midpoint. Both of these did not return the perfect center because I'm relying on the center to scale a polygon. I want to scale my polygons so I may put a border around them. What is the best way to find the centroid of a polygon given that the polygon may be concave, convex and have many many sides of various lengths. Thanks

  • java detect clicked buttons

    - by user253530
I have multiple panels on a JFrame window. I am going to populate each panel differently every time. For example: i start the GUI: (image center panel, right panel, bottom panel). Center panel is populated with 20 buttons, right panel with 10 buttons and bottom panel with 3. second start of the GUI (same gui). Center panel has 50 buttons, right panel has 12 buttons, bottom has 3. So everytime there is a random number of buttons, impossible to be all uniquely named. Given the fact that I don't have a unique name for each button (just a list) I would like to know which buttons were clicked according to the panel they belong to. is that possible?

  • Centering images php

I'm trying to center an image in php. I'm currently using this line of code echo '<img src="newimage.jpg" width="110" height="120" class="centre">'; However, this seems to have no effect. I've also tried using something like this, img.center { display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; } <img src="newimage.jpg" alt="Suni" class="center" /> but this merely gives me a syntax error, how do I go about fixing this? • multiple regionDidChangeAnimated calls - what gives?

    - by mvexel
I have a MKMapView inside a UITableView as a custom cell (don't ask ;) - don't know if it matters really), for which I register a regionDidChangeAnimated delegate method. This method gets called three times when the UITableView is loaded - once with the actual region and then two more times with a region that is way off. In the simulator, I consistently get a region with center (+37.43997405, -97.03125000). On the device, it seems to depend on the location reported by the location manager, which initializes the map view. Why am I getting three regionDidChangeAnimated calls? And why are the center coordinates for the last two of them off? This is the code I use to get the center coordinates: - (void)mapView:(MKMapView *)mapView regionDidChangeAnimated:(BOOL)animated { CLLocation *l = [[CLLocation alloc] initWithLatitude:self.mapView.centerCoordinate.latitude longitude:self.mapView.centerCoordinate.longitude]; (....)

  • ExtJS (4.0) dynamic / lazy loading

    - by Paul
Given a border layout with a west (navigation) and a center region. Let say I click on topic A in the west region, I want to replace (replace as in 'delete last topic') the center region with 'extjs' program code named topic_a.js I succeed in loading with this code: dynamicPanel = new Ext.Component({ loader: { url: '/www/file.htm', renderer: 'html', autoLoad: true, scripts: true } }); var oMainContainer = Ext.getCmp('maincontainer'); oMainContainer.show(); oMainContainer.add(dynamicPanel); But calling this the second time 'adds' things up in the center region and of course fails short in 'deleting', what would be a good approach?

  • Centering An Inline-Block DIV

    - by Aaron Brewer
Does anybody know how to center align a DIV that has the display set to inline-block? I cannot set the display to block because I have a background image that needs to be repeated, and it needs to expand based on the content. It sits inside of a parent div, in which is larger when it comes to width. So all in all. Does anyone have a fix to center align a div with the display set to inline-block? And no, text-align: center; does not work, nor does margin: 0 auto; jsFiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/HkvzM/ Thank you!

  • URGENT: IE 6/7/8 problem!- Right Column is not aligned and is pushed down.

    - by Kalpesh Vasta
    Hi Guys, I'm new to this but here goes. I have been developing this website http://www.panelmaster.co.uk and i have managed to solve the majority of design problems but one! If you take a look at the site in IE the right column seems to drop down and is not aligned with the right and centre column. This problem only occurs in IE as upon testing i found it was fine in firefox and safari. I have provided below the CSS for the website. I would appreciate if you guys can help me with the problem asap. Thanks in advance. :) ========================== body { margin: 0; padding: 0; line-height: 1.5em; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; color: #666; background-image: url(images/templatemo_body_top.jpg);
