  • Ant hangs randomly with executing

    - by deltamatrix
Hi, I have noticed in recent times that when invoking my ant scripts to build and unit test my Java app, it randomly hangs at various points in the execution. The ant scripts are been invoked from my local machine on my remote clearcase view. Has anyone else had this problem? Please advise if you can.

  • What Eclipse metadata files should be in the repository?

    - by MrSpandex
I'm working on a new project with a full ANT build. I use eclipse to write my code, and I would like others to be able to check out the project to have a full working eclipse workspace. I do not want to have specific user settings committed though. What files and directories should I have in source control? (I'd rather not just go grab a plugin - I prefer more control over what goes in the repository)

  • Meta Search Engine Architecture

    - by Loki
The question wasn't clear enough, I think; here's an updated straight to the point question: What are the common architectures used in building a meta search engine and is there any libraries available to build that type of search engine? I'm looking at building an "enterprise" type of search engine where the indexed data could be coming from proprietary (like Autonomy or a Google Box) or public search engines (like Google Web or Yahoo Web).

  • Creating .lib files in CUDA Toolkit 5

    - by user1683586
I am taking my first faltering steps with CUDA Toolkit 5.0 RC using VS2010. Separate compilation has me confused. I tried to set up a project as a Static Library (.lib), but when I try to build it, it does not create a device-link.obj and I don't understand why. For instance, there are 2 files: A caller function that uses a function f #include "thrust\host_vector.h" #include "thrust\device_vector.h" using namespace thrust::placeholders; extern __device__ double f(double x); struct f_func { __device__ double operator()(const double& x) const { return f(x); } }; void test(const int len, double * data, double * res) { thrust::device_vector<double> d_data(data, data + len); thrust::transform(d_data.begin(), d_data.end(), d_data.begin(), f_func()); thrust::copy(d_data.begin(),d_data.end(), res); } And a library file that defines f __device__ double f(double x) { return x+2.0; } If I set the option generate relocatable device code to No, the first file will not compile due to unresolved extern function f. If I set it to -rdc, it will compile, but does not produce a device-link.obj file and so the linker fails. If I put the definition of f into the first file and delete the second it builds successfully, but now it isn't separate compilation anymore. How can I build a static library like this with separate source files? [Updated here] I called the first caller file "caller.cu" and the second "libfn.cu". The compiler lines that VS2010 outputs (which I don't fully understand) are (for caller): nvcc.exe -ccbin "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\VC\bin" -I"C:\Program Files\NVIDIA GPU Computing Toolkit\CUDA\v5.0\include" -I"C:\Program Files\NVIDIA GPU Computing Toolkit\CUDA\v5.0\include" -G --keep-dir "Debug" -maxrregcount=0 --machine 32 --compile -g -D_MBCS -Xcompiler "/EHsc /W3 /nologo /Od /Zi /RTC1 /MDd " -o "Debug\caller.cu.obj" "G:\Test_Linking\caller.cu" -clean and the same for libfn, then: nvcc.exe -gencode=arch=compute_20,code=\"sm_20,compute_20\" --use-local-env --cl-version 2010 -ccbin "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\VC\bin" -rdc=true -I"C:\Program Files\NVIDIA GPU Computing Toolkit\CUDA\v5.0\include" -I"C:\Program Files\NVIDIA GPU Computing Toolkit\CUDA\v5.0\include" -G --keep-dir "Debug" -maxrregcount=0 --machine 32 --compile -g -D_MBCS -Xcompiler "/EHsc /W3 /nologo /Od /Zi /RTC1 /MDd " -o "Debug\caller.cu.obj" "G:\Test_Linking\caller.cu" and again for libfn.

  • CruiseControl.NET : Sending email using SVN username to ActiveDirectory mapping

    - by matthewpe
Is it possible to configure CruiseControl.NET to send an email to the user(s) that did modifications to a broken build by mapping their SVN username to the corresponding Active-Directory alias (hence retrieving the correct, updated email address). Our SVN server is set-up to allow users of a certain Active-Directory group to read and commit changes: I don't want to have to maintain the CruiseControl.NET config every time a user gets added to our Programmers group in Active-Directory. Thanks a lot!

  • linking c++ sources in iPhone project

    - by Steve918
I have a single cpp file added to my iPhone project with a .cpp extension, but I'm seeing errors when linking like: operator new[](unsigned long)", referenced from: ___gxx_personality_sj0", referenced from: I thought as long as I named the cpp files with .cpp or .mm it would do the right thing, do I need to add some linker flags? Update: Complete Build log: http://dpaste.org/tXAy/ The C++ code: unzip.h unzip.cpp

  • Java Can't Find File when Running through Eclipse

    - by derekerdmann
When I run a Java application that should be reading from a file in Eclipse, I get a java.io.FileNotFoundException, even though the file is in the correct directory. I can compile and run the application from the command line just fine; the problem only occurs in Eclipse, with more than one project and application. Is there a setting I need to change in the run configurations or build paths to get it to find the file correctly?

  • Java web services client

    - by Bill
I want to build a web services client that takes wsdl link as the input and generates java classes. I know we can do this directly using Netbeans IDE where we provide the wsdl location during project setup. But I want the wsdl location to be provided when the client starts running. How do I do this?

  • Image storage as a service

    - by Samuel
Google App Engine provides a image API for storing / retrieving images. We are currently not in a position to deploy our application on top of App Engine because of limitations in the java frameworks (jboss seam 2.2.0) we are using to build our j2ee application. We would eventually want to deploy our production application on top of Google App Engine, but what are the short term options (java based open source products) which provides comparable functionality to Google App Engine's Image API and will have an easier migration path at a later point in time.

  • How can I use net.tcp without ISS?

    - by user351025
I have a web site and build a wcf service in it. I can run the code by calling it from a test page in the web site. The web site is ran by the vs2010 development server. I do have IIS 7 but never use it. Now I want to use the NetTcpBinding instead of BasicHttpBinding, everyone says it should be enabled in IIS, but how can this be done without using IIS? Thanks for any help

  • How do you develop Java Servlets using Eclipse?

    - by Y Pgjn
I would like to program Java servlets using Eclipse and I plan on deploying them using Tomcat. I think I can build the projects using Ant which is bundled with Eclipse. I have the standard Eclipse IDE. What options do I have for doing Servlet development in Eclipse? What changes do I need to make to Eclipse? Do I need to install a plug-in?

  • Find Specific Rows

    - by H07R0D
I'm trying to build a rather specific query to find a set of user_ids based on topics they have registered to. Unfortunately it's not possible to refactor the tables so I have to go with what I've got. Single table with user_id and registration_id I need to find all user_ids that have a registration_id of (4 OR 5) AND NOT 1 Each row is a single user_id/registration_id combination. My SQL skills aren't the best, so I'm really scratching my brain. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Visual Basic 9 with Visual Studio 2010

    - by jaraics
I'm working on a project started in VB9 (VS 2008) and now I've migrated to VS2010 (VB10) but on the production server the IDE is still VS 2008. On my developement enviroment the code compiles fine, but sometimes, - let's say - I forget an _ at the end of the line which causes the VB9 compiler to throw an error. So the question is, how could I build a project with the VS 2010 IDE but VB9 compiler? Or to force the VB10 compiler into VB9 mode?

  • How would you explain your job to a 5-year old?

    - by Canavar
Sometimes it's difficult to define programming to people. Especially too old or too young people can not understand what I do to earn money. They think that I repair computers, or they want to think that I (as an engineer) build computers at work. :) It's really hard to tell people that you produce something they can't touch. Here is a funny question, how would you explain your job to a 5-year-old?

  • Updating the launcher icon at run-time

    - by david
Is it possible to update the launcher icon dynamically? Currently it seems that it can only be set statically at build time using the android:icon attribute in the AndroidManifest.xml file. For example, to display a unique icon based on the device's location? Is this something that can be achieved using aliases? If so, can an alias's launcher icon be enabled/disabled dynamically?

  • How to get JMeter to request gzipped content?

    - by Bill Paetzke
My website serves gzipped content. I verified with Firebug and YSlow. However, JMeter does not request the gzipped content. Therefore, it gets all uncompressed content. As a result, my test cases take much longer (6-10x longer) than they do in reality. How can I make JMeter request gzipped content from a website? FYI, I am using the latest stable build: JMeter 2.3.4 r785646.
