  • How to host multiple FLEX applications in IIS7

    Hello, I manually deploy a FLEX application to my web server (IIS 7). There are two virtual directories, 1.) Default 2.) myFlexApp1. myFlexApp1 is where my working FLEX application resides. I now need to deploy a different FLEX application (let's call it myFlexApp2) to the same web server. I set up a virtual directory for [myFlexApp2] and it complains about the "bindings" using port 80, which is already used by [myFlexApp1]. I have tried to give them separate host names in their bindings properties. For example, myFlexApp1.mydomain.com and myFlexApp2.mydomain.com. I can never get [myFlexApp2] to show from an external browser. I was able to get only one or the other to display, but never could run both. Here is what I need: myFlexApp1.mydomain.com -- myFlexApp1 calendar.mydomain.com -- myFlexApp2 test.mydomain.com -- myFlexApp1 where test.mydomain.com is the default URL. Is this possible? What am I doing wrong? I even tried to edit the hosts file in [C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc] but that didnt work either. How can I serve up two FLEX applications on IIS 7? It shouldn't be this hard!

  • Storage setup for large files

    I need to store over 200TB of data (all types, biggest being video files) and be able to access it over a local network. The files will be accessed for editing or searches. I don't need versioning, but a setup that would keep me safe from harddrive failures would be nice. Right now the content is on different harddrives, some external drives, some regular. I don't exclude the possibility of buying new/extra drives if necessary. If they will ever be exposed to the web, it wont be to the public, but just a couple of people. I have no idea what to buy to make this happen. I see some NAS solutions over the internet like this http://www.bestbuy.com/site/a/2266043.p?id=1218317764591&skuId=2266043 but the storage is not enough, plus it doesn't seem to be scalable.     What is the easiest way to setup an PXE server (i.e. a DHCP server + TFTP server) on MacOSX? Is there maybe some easy-to-use tool which just comes with both servers builtin? I have done that in the past but I remember that it took me several hours of editing some config files of tftpd (I think) and different versions of dhcpd, many trials and errors until I got it working (mostly). Now I have a fresh MacOSX installation and I want to avoid any complicated setup.

  • How to bulk mail-enable contacts from AD in Exchange 2007?

    Hello, We have several thousand 'contacts' setup in AD already for a faxing system. We're migrating to an online fax provider that uses e-mail rather than plain old telephone. So, we've bulk edited all the AD records so that the 'mail' attribute is populated with the right e-mail address in the right format. Now, how do we enable these contacts within Exchange 2007? I've looked through http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb684891.aspx but that only seems to talk about manually editing the CSV output to specify the external addresses. AD already knows the external e-mail addresses - I just need the info in Exchange! Any thoughts?

  • How to play 24 fps video smoothly on a 60Hz display? (or which player supports frame interpolation?)

    I use mpc-hc to play videos on Win7 x64. With the default settings (#1), video playback is great most of the time. But for panning shots, playback is not smooth. I stepped through the video frame by frame and found that the panning movement is smooth (e.g. each frame shifts horizontally by 10 pixels), so the problem is how the 23.976 fps video is interpolated to 60Hz. The judder looks like what would be caused by a "2:3 pulldown", where the frames are played unevenly like: frame 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, etc (#2) Using "optimal renderer settings" (#3) instead of the default disables the Aero theme and causes tearing. Setting my LCD display to 50Hz may have improved the judder slightly (but I can't really tell). My display does not support 24Hz or 48Hz, and forcing them in the Nvidia control panel gives blurry screen. I've tried other video players (VLC and KMPlayer), the ReClock Directshow Filter, video files from different sources (#4), turning on/off DXVA, and a computer with a different GPU, but the judder in the playback is similar. None of them solved the problem. So, how can I play 23.976 or 24 fps video smoothly on a 60Hz display? I think a video player could make the video smoother by doing linear interpolation, such as: 1. 100% frame 1 2. 60% frame 1 + 40% frame 2 3. 20% frame 1 + 80% frame 2 4. 80% frame 2 + 20% frame 3 5. 40% frame 2 + 60% frame 3 6. 100% frame 3 7. 60% frame 3 + 40% frame 4 .. etc Can any existing video player do this?     I purchased a new server with a few ip's so I modified the /etc/network/interfaces file recently so that my ip's can go live. While editing that file I created a backup and deleted the original file. I recreated the interfaces file using the touch command and gave +x permissions but now, when trying to restart the interface (/etc/network/interfaces restart) I get all sorts of errors: /etc/network/interfaces: line 10: iface: command not found /etc/network/interfaces: line 11: address: command not found /etc/network/interfaces: line 12: netmask: command not found /etc/network/interfaces: line 13: auto: command not found Can any1 point what I forgot to do? I want to import the web application into aptana, run it and begin updating/editing - bit of steep learning curve for me What is the best way to import? And what should I import? What should it look like in aptanan? I tried importing what I think is the root file from the git folder ("existing folder as new project")- it contains things like css, doc, img and js. I've tried the following (placed after the location /foo directive), but I get a 500 with an infinite internal redirect in error.log: location / { rewrite ^(.*)$ /app1$1 last; } I hoped that the last directive would prevent that infinite redirect, but I guess not. /foo gets the same error.     Hi guys, Suppose I have a server accessible via FTP and it hosts websites Suppose I want to edit the website locally so it wont affect the site live, and suppose I edit a whole bunch of files, and I don't want to deal with the hassle of keeping track of which files I've edited all the time... Once I finished editing I want to upload it to the server via FTP....is there some FTP software that automatically detects which files have been edited and have only those files uploaded and overwritten rather than having me manually choosing the files I've edited (and hence having to keep track of edited files) or have me upload the entire site which is a waste of time thanks in advance

    I have a D-Link DSL-2650U router, and exactly one computer on the network. For reasons of port forwarding I want to give my computer a static internal IP address, so that I don't take the chance of losing my NAT settings every time the computer reboots. So here's a screen shot that summarizes the entire problem: WTH is wrong with my MAC address? It's copied and pasted from the command prompt window! I tried editing out the dashes, but it still doesn't work. Am I doing something wrong, or is there a bug in the D-Link firmware?

  • Removing Paths/ Landing Pages From SharePoint Search Results

    Hi there, We've been asked by a client to remove a number of pages from being shown up in their public website search results page. I've been into the SSP and created Crawl Rules to remove these pages. All seemed to have worked ok but we have an issue in that landing pages are still showing up in their "www.domain.com/sitearea/" form but not in their "www.domain.com/sitearea/pages/default.aspx". For each of this type of page we have created one rule to "Exclude" the "aspx" path and another rule to include the "/" path but to "Follow links on the URL without crawling the URL itself". We tried adding rules to exclude the "/" format but that only resulted in all results underneath that being excluded. Does anybody know how to remove the "area/pages/default.aspx" and the "area/" pats from Search Results? I'm not sure if it's the "done thing" to ask 2 questions in one but this is in a similar vein so it should be ok. I was wondering if anyone knew of a tool (or if it is possible) to allow site admins to exclude pages from search results (not via SSP/Crawl Rules). I know they can do it at the site level but I was wondering if anything out there enabled this to be done at the page level through either Page or Site Settings?

  • Ideal laptop specs for a Computer Science Masters student?

    I have a HP pavillion core 2 duo 2 GHz and 4 GB RAM, and it is painful to use this machine for any kind of coding. Eclipse (especially Juno) literally takes 5 minutes to load. And even after that, everything is lagy. Apart from school stuff, I also use my computer as a television. I watch Hulu, Netflix, YouTube etc in 720p, and this laptop gets hot as hell and the fans are loud enough to wake somebody up from deep sleep. I DON'T use my laptop for Gaming or Video/Photo Editing. I'm looking to buy a new laptop (in which most widely used IDEs would work smoothly and playing hi-def videos wouldn't be too much for the machine to handle) any suggestions (on hardware specs) would be greatly appreciated.   • free Raw-File Converter/Editor

    I have RAW files output by a program with a specific set of properties (Photoshop RAW, 16 bits, IBM PC byte order, no header, 1 non-interleaved channel, variable sizes like 257X257 or 129X513); does anyone know of a free tool that will allow me to convert to and from this format, and possibly do basic editing (selection, copy/paste, rotation of selection)? I've tried Picasa, XNView, and Paint Shop Pro 7 and none of them work properly. The closest i get is Paint Shop Pro which will at least make a serviceable attempt to open these files but i can't set all of the proper settings. XNView just might be able to edit it if i can figure out how to change the open settings for a particular raw file. So my questions at current are: how do i tell XNView to open a raw file a particular way? Failing that, is there any free tool that can open Photoshop-RAW files with the above settings (that's not photoshop)? If it helps, i'm trying to import/export/edit hieghtmap data for maps for Supreme Commander.

  • How can I enforce directory space limits in a OpenVPZ system?

    The title says it all. I have some programs on a server (centos4-openvz) that use a directory as temp directory - but pay no attention to the size it grows. I want to enforcee a limit, like this folder cannot exceed 300mb. I would use quota but OpenVZ does not support loop devices to mount a file as such. Any other solutions? (apart from scripting a periodic delete of files in the directory). Editing the application's code to implement such a functionality is not entirely out of the question - if it can be done easily and no other ways exist.. Its written in cpp - but I don't know how to implement it.

  • Google Drive desktop client not updating existing files from other users

    I've looked around and there doesn't really seem to be any troubleshooting information for the Google Drive desktop client. It all assumes you are using Google Docs on the web. Anyway, my team is trying to use Google Drive like Dropbox, where multiple people are editing files shared amongst them through the desktop, such as images. Dropbox is really good at noticing when a checksum for a file is changed, and syncing it. Google Drive's desktop client seems not to do this at all. Google Drive desktop client seems to only sync newly created files and not giving any notification at all that there is a modified version, it will never sync it, even though going online and opening that file will show the modified version. Is there any way to fix this? and the answer has nothing to do with proxy or firewall configurations. Team is using computers running OSX and Windows.
