  • using count and group by at the same select statement

    Hello, I have an sql select query that has a group by. I want to count all the records after the group by statement. Is there a way for this directly from sql? For example, having a table with users I want to select the different towns and the total number of users select town, count(*) from user group by town I want to have a column with all the towns and another with the number of users in all rows.

  • Non Document Centric SharePoint Workflow

    SharePoint workflows are document centric in that the base thing the workflow runs on has to be a thing; be it a document or just a list item. The workflow itself is task based, so stuff a user has to do. Now I can put any sort of code in these tasks that I want to and even put complex InfoPath forms in for the user to perform the task. This has been fine on all my previous workflows. But what if I want the tasks to be actual official forms themselves. The item that the workflow runs on is just some abstract concept like an event. An example could be an accident has happened. There isn't an accident form, but a whole set of forms that need to be completed by different people. Task forms aren't really a nice way to go, because it locks all the forms into the task list. You can only access the forms by not deleting the tasks when complete and going to the workflow summery and following the task links to the InfoPath forms or going straight to the tasks list and doing a filter on particular "accidents". These are official documents so ideally there would be a library for each type of document and the workflow would orchestrate the completion of the right forms. It would mean each task would have to create a new blank form and then link the user to that form. The user would go complete the form but then have to go back to the task form and click yes I've completed it until the workflow could progress. Well this is short of the workflow monitoring the forms library form for some completion trigger. But then it all gets messy with the user experience from clicking the link in the task email, to open the Infopath task form, to clicking the link in the subsequent Infopath library form and then return through these forms on completion. It just gets messy trying to retrofit this non document centric sort of workflow into SharePoint. I would really appreciate any input on what might be the best way to do this. Store the forms as task forms Store the forms as library forms and create/link from the task forms Store the forms as different infopath views, and use a forms library. The workflow would trigger variables that progress the view the infopath form shows. Using the same form template for both task forms and a forms library and when a task form is complete, copy the xml into the forms library to have a official record outside of the workflow. Thanks

  • Very basic question about Hadoop and compressed input files

    I have started to look into Hadoop. If my understanding is right i could process a very big file and it would get split over different nodes, however if the file is compressed then the file could not be split and wold need to be processed by a single node (effectively destroying the advantage of running a mapreduce ver a cluster of parallel machines). My question is, assuming the above is correct, is it possible to split a large file manually in fixed-size chunks, or daily chunks, compress them and then pass a list of compressed input files to perform a mapreduce?

It is typically used when data must be moved between different parts of a computer program or from one program to another. I have always done data serialization in php via its serialize function, usually on objects or arrays. But how is wikipedia's definition of marshaling/serialization takes place in this serizalize() function?

  • ASP.NET Caching : Good As Well As Bad ! Page shows old content!

    I have an ASP.NET website where i have implemented page level caching using the OutPutCache directive.This boosted the page performance.My pages has few parts(Some buttons,links and labels) which are specific to the logged in user.If user is not logged in,they will see different links.Now Since i implemented the page level caching,Even after the user logged in,It's showing the old page content(Links and buttons meant for the Non logged in User). Caching is obviously good.But how to get rid of this problem ? Do i need to completely remove caching ?

    Hello, I added a table view into a view in interface builder and now I need to wire it up to some pre-made classes that you can generate in xcode. I set the tableview controller's class to the class in xcode and wired the dataSource and delegate to my table view but the app just crashes. Im not sure how to get data to properly load into my table view when using a tableview in a different view. If anyone knows how to do this any help is appreciated. Thanks

  • Howto monitor traffic between IIS and MSSQL

    Hello @all, i try to check how much traffic flows between MSSQL Server and IIS Server in different Locations. There are 1 ipcop in every Location and i download the tcpdump file from one Firewall and search for DST=ipmssql and SRC=ipIIS but i did not find the ip from the Database Server. But there are traffic between both. Any suggestions why i did not find the IP Adress from the MSSQL Server? Is this an configuration failure in IPCop or is the Traffic between ISS and MSSQL so strange :-) Regards Rene

  • Django Multi-Table Inheritance VS Specifying Explicit OneToOne Relationship in Models

    Hope all this makes sense :) I'll clarify via comments if necessary. Also, I am experimenting using bold text in this question, and will edit it out if I (or you) find it distracting. With that out of the way... Using django.contrib.auth gives us User and Group, among other useful things that I can't do without (like basic messaging). In my app I have several different types of users. A user can be of only one type. That would easily be handled by groups, with a little extra care. However, these different users are related to each other in hierarchies / relationships. Let's take a look at these users: - Principals - "top level" users Administrators - each administrator reports to a Principal Coordinators - each coordinator reports to an Administrator Apart from these there are other user types that are not directly related, but may get related later on. For example, "Company" is another type of user, and can have various "Products", and products may be supervised by a "Coordinator". "Buyer" is another kind of user that may buy products. Now all these users have various other attributes, some of which are common to all types of users and some of which are distinct only to one user type. For example, all types of users have to have an address. On the other hand, only the Principal user belongs to a "BranchOffice". Another point, which was stated above, is that a User can only ever be of one type. The app also needs to keep track of who created and/or modified Principals, Administrators, Coordinators, Companies, Products etc. (So that's two more links to the User model.)   • How can I detect device orientation going back and forth through tabs and views?

    My application goes back and forth between Portrait and Landscape. I have all of my content(labels, uiimageviews, uilabels) lined up to relocate for both orientations. However, the only change when the device is actually rotated. When I cycle between tabs after it has been rotated it just shows up autosized and not the way I have it setup when the user rotates it. How can I detect the orientation of the device and display the view to reflect the orientation when the taps different tabs?

    Is it possible to change the style of a WinForm border? I know that if the border is removed, it takes away the functionality to resize the program. Therefore is there a way to change the style of it? At the moment, I've removed the text from the border, set the "FormBorderStyle" to "SizableToolWindow" and set the "ControlBox" to false.     I was wondering if there is a recommended 'cross' Windows and Linux method for the purpose of converting strings from UTF-16LE to UTF-8? or one should use different methods for each environment? I've managed to google few references to 'iconv' , but for somreason I can't find samples of basic conversions, such as - converting a wchar_t UTF-16 to UTF-8.     Hi, This is a hypothetical question. If one would develop an iPhone/iPad (Universal) odds application, whould apple allow this to the appstore? This application would not let you bet on odds directly, but would collect odds from different odds sites and show them to the user.
