• Android ndk build mysteriously failing under cygwin with "Error 126"

  I have a JNI application built by ndk-build (using Android NDK r5b and cygwin make 3.81). The build usually works, by occasionally fails with: ... Compile++ thumb : components <= Component.cpp make: *** [/c/.hudson/jobs/Nightly/workspace/application/obj/local/armeabi/objs/components/Component.o] Error 126 make: Leaving directory `/c/.hudson/jobs/Nightly/workspace/application/obj/local/armeabi/objs/components' There is no other error. Make than exits with status 2. It happens in different file each time (the name above is anonymized). It seems to happen more often with parallel builds, but sometimes happens with non-parallel builds too. Does anybody have an idea what it might be or at least how to debug it?

• Java: using endpoint to publish webservice to tomcat server

  hi all, i am creating a simple SOAP web service. i am to ensure that it runs on a tomcat web service. im trying to implement this with JAX-WS (see code) my question is: does the Endpoint.publish use the tomcat server to host this or is it a mini glassfish kind of server? should i be extending UnicastRemoveObject or something similiar instead? ideally it would be able to be packaged into a .WAR and dropped in the directory and just work. It doesn't seem to work with my installed tomcat server as is because it says the port is already in use. • App with MVC Virtual application shared AuthCookie.

  I have a 3.5 ASP.Net WebForm parent application. The parent uses forms authentication. I have a MVC child virtual application, I would like to make it so the user logs in to the parent application, user then navigates to the virtual application by pressing a link on the parent. However every time I do this it goes to the login screen for the virtual application. Is there a web setting I should double check in Parent? Or Child? Is there an IIS setting that I should check? Should I be using a virtual directory instead of virtual application? I want the child to be able to access the Session[] from the parent. I would like the child app to use the same authCookie as the parent app.

• Adding Existing Framework to Xcode (iPhone) error

  I have added the <QuartzCore/QuartzCore.h> to my Frameworks folder in my iPhone project and added the #import "<QuartzCore/QuartzCore.h>" statement at the top of a custom UIView class. However the custom UIView class gives me a "No such file or directory" compliation error in relation to the <QuartzCore/QuartzCore.h> framework. Is there something else I need to set so that the compiler can see the framework. I'm not expert on the Xcode IDE so any assistance would be extremely welcome.

  Hello, I've a problem with SWIG and python. I've a c-class that compiles correctly, but the python script says it can't find the module. I compile with: swig -c++ -python codes/codes.i g++ -c -Wall -O4 -fPIC -pedantic codes/*.cc g++ -I/usr/include/python2.6 -shared codes/codes_wrap.cxx *.o -o _codes.so This gives me a _codes.so file, as I would expect, but then I have this python file: import sys import codes (rest of the code omitted) It gives me: Traceback (most recent call last): File "script.py", line 3, in <module> import codes ImportError: No module named codes According to http://www.swig.org/Doc1.3/Introduction.html#Introduction_nn8 this is all I should have to do... The files are in the same directory, so the path should not be a problem ?

• Getting differences between WVGA800 and WVGA854 in Android Emulator

  So far I just have one XML layout file, and one drawable directory, drawable-hdpi. I first want to target the high density screens. I added a bunch of imagebuttons to a relativelayout and everything looks perfect in the WVGA800 emulator. The problem arises when I view it in the WVGA854 emulator. Not only do the imagebuttons not position the same, but the images are blurry. I used dip for the layout margins on the imagebuttons even though it shouldn't matter in this case because WVGA800 and 854 are both high density. What is the problem? Why would it look totally different on emulators that have the same density and almost have the same exact screen dimensions? Thanks!

  Hi! I am building a cgi application, and now I would like it to be like an application that stands and parses each connection, with this, I can have all session variables saved in memory instead of saving them to file(or anyother place) and loading them again on a new connection I am using lamp within a linux vmware but I can't seem to find how to install the module for it to work and what to change in the httpd.conf. I tried to compile the module, but I couldn't because my apache isn't a regular instalation, its a lamp already built one, and it seems that the mod needs the apache directory to be compiled. I saw some coding examples out there, so I guess is not that hard once its runing ok with Apache Can you help me with this please? Thanks, Joe

• Cascading S3 Sink Tap not being deleted with SinkMode.REPLACE

  We are running Cascading with a Sink Tap being configured to store in Amazon S3 and were facing some FileAlreadyExistsException (see [1]). This was only from time to time (1 time on around 100) and was not reproducable. Digging into the Cascading codem, we discovered the Hfs.deleteResource() is called (among others) by the BaseFlow.deleteSinksIfNotUpdate(). Btw, we were quite intrigued with the silent NPE (with comment "hack to get around npe thrown when fs reaches root directory"). From there, we extended the Hfs tap with our own Tap to add more action in the deleteResource() method (see [2]) with a retry mechanism calling directly the getFileSystem(conf).delete. The retry mechanism seemed to bring improvement, but we are still sometimes facing failures (see example in [3]): it sounds like HDFS returns isDeleted=true, but asking directly after if the folder exists, we receive exists=true, which should not happen. Logs also shows randomly isDeleted true or false when the flow succeeds, which sounds like the returned value is irrelevant or not to be trusted. Can anybody bring his own S3 experience with such a behavior: "folder should be deleted, but it is not"? We suspect a S3 issue, but could it also be in Cascading or HDFS? We run on Hadoop Cloudera-cdh3u5 and Cascading 2.0.1-wip-dev. • Incremental build with NetBeans and Maven for jetty hot deployment

  After my unsuccessful attempt to run Tomcat with hot deployment from NetBeans with Maven, I've tried jetty. The jetty-maven-plugin doc gave me an important hint: The plugin will automatically ensure the classes are rebuilt and up-to-date before deployment. If you change the source of a class and your IDE automatically compiles it in the background, the plug-in will pick up the changed class. If I look at $myproject/target/classes/... in the projects directory, I can see that NetBeans doesn't compile and refresh the class file on saving. I need to build the project explicitly to update the file and than jetty picks up the change. (The plug-in param "scanIntervalSeconds" is set to 1.) How can I tell NetBeans to compile on save and update the class file so that jetty can pick up the change?

• Excluding standard directories from code coverage results with C++/CLI

  I have a Visual Studio 2010 .NET 4 solution with C# projects and a C++/CLI project. I use Visual Studio's built in unit tests and code coverage. Other than the fact that Visual Studio 2010 coverage tool for C++/CLI projects seems to be much weaker than Visual Studio 2008 coverage tool, I get weird results. For example, I get uncovered code in this file: c:\program files (x86)\microsoft visual studio 10.0\vc\include\xstring And some other files in that directory. I want to exclude this code from coverage results. Is there a way to put some exclude attributes on that code? If not, is there a different automatic way to exclude that code from coverage? If not, is there a way to use EXCLUDE option to exclude it? Can it be done automatically within Visual Studio without running the coverage tool from command prompt? Any other solutions?

• Eclipse and Cassandra

  I've searched various websites for instructions on how to link 'Cassandra' and 'Eclipse' and followed directions to the last detail in several sites. For some reason, while using Git Bash, I cant get through the 'ant build', via instruction in said mentioned locations across the web. In some location's its easy, just make sure you have; 1. Apache Cassandra source 2. Apache Ant 3. Git So, yeah I've downloaded all the above, tried the same directory, different directories, etc., although still unable to get past the middle step of 'ant build'. • Log4Net and GAC - How to reference Configuraition Files?

  Hello all I am using log4net during my development, as as part of a project constraint, I now need to add it to the Global Assembly Cache. The logging definitions are in a file Log4Net.xml. That file is referenced in my assemblyinfo as: [assembly: log4net.Config.XmlConfigurator(ConfigFile = "Log4Net.xml", Watch = true)]. So long as the xml file was in the same directory as the log4net.dll, everything has been working fine. However now that I've added log4net to the GAC, it is no longer picking up the xml file. Does anyone know what I need to change in order to have it pick up the XML file again? Is hardcoding the patch in the assembly reference the only way? Many thanks

• Creating an SQL Compact file: Template or script?

  I am writing an application that writes to SQL Compact files that have a specific schema, and I am now implementing the New File use case. The simplest approach seems to be to use a Template pattern: first, create a template file that lives in the application directory. Then, when the user selects New File, the template is copied to the name and destination specified by the user in a New File dialog. The alternative is a scripted approach: Use the same New File dialog, but dispense with the template file. Instead, create an empty SQL Compact file using the name/destination specified by the user, and then execute a T-SQL script on it from managed code. At this point, I am leaning toward the Template approach, because it is simpler. Is there any reason I should not use that approach? Thanks for your help.

  I want a build rule to be triggered by an include directive if the target of the include is out of date or doesn't exist.   i try to install moodle web software...i m using wamp server and sqlserver 2005 version. i install php driver for php5.3.0 thread safe version..i just paste that php_sqlsrv_ts.dll driver file into my php ext directory...i include this line extension=php_sqlsrv_ts.dll in my php.ini file... now i restart my wampserver...i m getting this error... • Standard way of distributing source code?

  I am relatively new to programming, and have built a few working C++ commandline programs with Xcode in Mac OS X (no dependencies on Mac-only libraries or APIs). My question is: What is the standard way of packaging and distributing the source code (and possibly compiled binaries)? i.e. Almost all Linux programs seemed to be distributed that a user simply needs to run ./configure && make && make install from the source directory.   Is there a simple way to detect when a file for writing is closed? I have a process that kicks out a new file every 5 seconds. I can not change the code for that process. I am writing another process to analyze the contents of each file immediately when it is created. Is there a simple way to watch a certain directory to see when a file is no longer opened for writing? I'm hoping for some sort of Linux command.

• Joomla template parameters and params.ini - file becomes unwritable after save.

  I am using wamp and creating a Joomla template with changeable parameters. initially the message is The parameter file \templates\ssc_2010\params.ini is writable! once I make changes everything works as expected, except now i get the message: The parameter file \templates\ssc_2010\params.ini is unwritable! One solution is to brows to the directory, right click the file, select properties, and uncheck read-only. Again the file is writable but once I modify the parameters again it becomes read only again. I'm quite lazy and would like to prevent this from happening again, I've notice this happening in past projects, but now I have to work a lot with parameters so it becomes quite boring doing manual labor like that :P

• Piping to findstr's input, dos prompt

  I have a text file with a list of macro names (one per line). My final goal is to get a print of how many times the macro's name appears in the files of the current directory. The macro's names are in C:\temp\macros.txt. type C:\temp\macros.txt in the dos prompt prints the list alright. Now I want to pipe that output to the standard input of findstr. type C:\temp\macros.txt | findstr *.ss (ss is the file type where I am looking for the macro names). This does not seem to work, I get no result (very fast, it does not seem to try at all). findstr <the first row of the macro list> *.ss does work. I also tried findstr *.ss < c:\temp\macros.txt with no success.

The Model is in the model directory, and when I look at the quickstart app, it seems like this should work. • Symbolicating iPhone App Crash Reports

  I'm looking to try and symbolicate my iPhone app's crash reports. I retrieved the crash reports from iTunes Connect. I have the application binary that I submitted to the App Store and I have the dSYM file that was generated as part of the build. I have all of these files together inside a single directory that is indexed by spotlight. What now? I have tried invoking: symbolicatecrash crashreport.crash myApp.app.dSYM and it just outputs the same text that is in the crash report to start with, not symbolicated. Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
