• Restrict file access from PHP -> Java Applet

  I'm writing a portal in PHP that allows users to upload DICOM images, and allow users of the same group to view those DICOM images through a Java Applet. The html code to display images through the viewer looks like this: <APPLET archive=radscaper.jar codebase=./ code=com.divinev.radscaper.Main.class width=100% height=100%> <PARAM NAME=Config VALUE=config.xml> <PARAM NAME=DicomImg1 VALUE="relative_path1/image1.dcm"> </APPLET> So the generated html passes in a file url to the java applet. The problem I'm facing is - files would be stored in a public directory and easily accessed by anyone knowing the file url. Is there a way I can restrict file access to a certain user group?

• Push origin master error on new repository.

  I just started using git with github. I followed their instructions and ran into errors on the last step. I'm checking in an existing directory that isn't currently source-controlled (project about a week old). Other than that, my use case should be pretty run of the mill. • input file cannot be found

  I am just messing around with reading input files with java until I got stumped at the most basic of steps... finding the input file! The input.txt file is in the same directory as my class file that is calling it yet eclipse still gives me an error that it cant be found: "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.Error: Unresolved compilation problem: Unhandled exception type FileNotFoundException" My code: package pa; import java.util.Scanner; public class Project { public static void main(String[] args) { java.io.File file = new java.io.File("input.txt"); System.out.println(file.getAbsolutePath()); Scanner input = new Scanner(file); } } input.txt is in the same package, same folder and everything. I'm confused :(

• c# application and configuration settings

  Hi, I never used Settings class before but I found some articles on CodeProject which I'm currently reading (for example http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cs/PropertiesSettings.aspx) but so far I didn't see how to save string array for getting it after application is started next time. For example my application has several FileSystemWatcher instances, with each instance several other directories are connected (for example one FSW instance is monitoring one directory for a change and when it happens it copies some file to several other directories), so I would have one string array with watched paths representing FSW instances, and string array for each of those paths, representing directories that are affected. My question is, what should I use (Settings class or something else), and how should I use that for storing application configuration that is variable number of string arrays? Emphasize is on something I could use very soon as I don't have too much time to make custom class (but would have to if I cannot find solution) or dig into some obscure hacks. Any tutorial link, code snippet would be very helpful. Thanks.

  Am trying the following php script which finds out the maximum between 2 numbers, it accepts the arguments through command line. • grails clean having issues

  Im running grails 1.2 on win7. when i try to do grails clean it fails to remove some jars in my acegi plugin. after that failure, it complains about not finding the plugin descriptor. I am forced to remove all plugins from the disk manually and then run the app again to download them again. the particular jar in acegi is ant-contrib-xx.jar. has anyone seen this? as a further note, if i just delete the acegi directory after the initial failure it fails on a jar in another plugin. I dont know if Im having some sort of windows filesystem issue (I am coming from linux, forced to use win7 because intellij sucks on linux), or intellij is doing something, or what...

  Hi, Any idea on what would make this happen? Im trying to use XML RPC zend version but anytime I try to include the client I get some sort of error.   I am trying to build PyGTK on CentOS for a non-standard Python (2.6, vs the out-of-the-box 2.4). It requires that I first build pygobject. pygobject-2.18.0 fails at the configure step. The error messages is as follows: checking for GLIB - version >= 2.14.0... no *** Could not run GLIB test program, checking why... *** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the *** exact error that occured. This usually means GLIB is incorrectly installed. configure: error: maybe you want the pygobject-2-4 branch? I have downloaded, built and successfully installed glib. The config.log file contains the following output: configure:6893: gcc -E conftest.c conftest.c:13:28: error: ac_nonexistent.h: No such file or directory What am I doing wrong?

• Find user defined functions and their usage in a massive code base

  Hi, I'm currently working with an massive PHP codebase, witch is completely undocumented. Here's the deal. All of the PHP code is included every page call. They build a simple include all kinda function that scan's the directory and includes all PHP files it can find. It works recursively for all the subfolders. I would like to know what functions are used in what files and from which files those functions came. I need to know this in order to switch to normale includes. Also it gives me more information about not used functions and files (since it a really old and big codebase, there is a lot of legacy in it). It there a tool or something for PHP that can check this kind of stuff in a codebase?

• Subclipse CollabNet Myster Icon

  The scenario is that I'm merging a series of cherry picked revisions from on SVN branch into trunk. I'm using the subclipse CollabNet client to do the merge. Everything works great, except for in addition to the files I picked to merge, my working directory shows a series of changes that svn thinks have changed but that I haven't chosen to merge. If I do a diff on the files in question it tells me there's no differences. If I do a commit, I get the screenshot below, with the mystery icon I haven't been able to find document anywhere.   I'm getting a "DirectoryNotFoundException" error, here is the code: string directorio = "D:\MUSICA\La Trampa - El Mísero Espiral De Encanto"; DirectoryInfo dir = new DirectoryInfo(directorio); DirectoryInfo[] dirs = dir.GetDirectories(); <------------This is the line I'm having this problem. I believe it's caused when it tries to parse the tilde part of that string "Mísero". the directory "D:\MUSICA\La Trampa - El Mísero Espiral De Encanto" exists because I can see it and also have some files in it. Is there any way to send this string in correct way? Thanks

• .NET Application using a native DLL (build management)

  I have a .NET app that is dependent on a native DLL. I have the .NET app set as AnyCPU. In the post-build step, I plan to copy the correct native DLL from some directory (x86 or AMD64) and place it in the target path. However, this doesn't work. On a 64-bit machine, the environment variable PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE is "x86" in Visual Studio. My alternative right now is to create a small tool that outputs the processor architecture. This will be used by the post-build step. Is there a better alternative? (Side Note: when deploying/packaging the app, the right native DLL is copied to the right platform. But this means we have two separate release folders for x86 and AMD64, which is OK since this is for a device driver. The app is a utility tool for the driver).

  hey everybody, I have a jsp page which contains the code which prints all files in a given directory and their file paths. The code is if (dir.isDirectory()) { File[] dirs = dir.listFiles(); for (File f : dirs) { if (f.isDirectory() && !f.isHidden()) { File files[] = f.listFiles(); for (File d : files) { if (d.isFile() && !d.isHidden()) { System.out.println(d.getName()+ d.getParent() + (d.length()/1024)); } } } if (f.isFile() && !f.isHidden()) { System.out.println(f.getName()+ f.getParent() + (f.length()/1024)); } } } The problem is that it prints the complete file path, which when accessed from tomcat is invalid. For example, the code spits out the following path: /usr/local/tomcat/sites/web_tech/images/scores/blah.jpg and I want it to only print the path up to /images ie /images/scores/blah.jpg I know I could just mess around with an actual string, ie splitting it or string matching, but is there an easier way to do it?   I currently have a makefile to process some data. The makefile gets the inputs to the data processing by sourcing a CONFIG file, which defines the input data in a variable. Currently, I symlink the input files to a local directory, i.e. the makefile contains: tmp/%.txt: tmp ln -fs $(shell echo $(INPUTS) | tr ' ' '\n' | grep $(patsubst tmp/%,%,$@)) $@ This is not terribly elegant, but appears to work. Is there a better way? Basically, given INPUTS = /foo/bar.txt /zot/snarf.txt I would like to be able to have e.g. %.out: %.txt some command As well as targets to merge results depending on all $(INPUT) files. Also, apart from the kludgosity, the makefile doesn't work correctly with -j, something that is crucial for the analysis to complete in reasonable time. I guess that's a bug in GNU make, but any hints welcome.

• Log versions of all used DLLs

  I want to log the versions of all DLLs my .NET-application uses. It doesn't matter if the log-output is generated on startup or on first use of each DLL. The first solution which came to my mind was to iterate over all DLL files which reside in the same directory as my assembly. But is this the best option I have? Is there any better way to do this? It's important that the solution should also work on .NET-Compact-Framework.

  Hello! I want to create a desctop application with an embedded data base. Data base is JavaDB(Derby). I have connected a jar file derby.jar to my project. The problem is I don't understand how to register a driver to use this data base. It is said that I should use Class.forName("org.apache.derby.jdbc.EmbeddedDriver") But what if that was another data base and its driver was not in a java standart package? As you can see I'm confused with this. I want to know, how to use my connected derby.jar, how to work with its jdbc driver and how to create tables in a specified directory. Please, give as detailed answer, as you can. (I'm a dummy in this =)) )

• How to not check in Eclipse specific project files?

  I don't want to force people into using a specific IDE for development, so our projects look basically like this: SomeProject src lib build.xml No IDE specific files whatsoever. However, many people prefer Eclipse and it is their valid complain that it is annoyingly difficult to set up an Eclipse project from an Ant build file if that project is checked into a VCS. That's a very old bug, so I don't really expect it to be fixed soon. I don't want all those weird Eclipse project files in the project root, but if it was the only way, I would accept having the eclipse project files in a subdirectory "eclipse". I thought Eclipse's linked resources were capable of just that, but I was wrong, it doesn't really work. How do you solve this problem? Are you checking in the .settings directory. etc. into your project's root?

So I created one MVC application in visual studio and everything is working fine on localhost as a separate application. Now I want to host this MVC app also inside the website I have already deployed. I created a virtual directory(MVCDir) inside the default website in IIS 6.0. • How to package up a Python 3 script with modules

  I created a small script that uses a few 3rd-party modules. I'm not sure how to distribute it. I tried Pyinstaller, but that doesn't seem to work. It can't find the modules. When I give the binary to a co-worker, it says it is looking for files in my home directory ( not his ) and dies. I have found that Pyinstaller is not able to find most modules. I am running Python 3 and installed Pyinstaller with pip from Python 2. It did not work trying to use pip from Python 3. When, I give it a path to my modules, it complains that they are python 3 modules. Just looking for some clarification. Ultimately, I'd like to run this on a linux or OS X box where python and my modules probably won't be installed. I just started Python yesterday and have a ton to learn.

• Installing PostgreSQL on Windows

  I'm in a bit of a mess here. I installed PostgreSQL on my Vista computer a couple of days ago but then when asked to enter the password for the postgre user account I couldn't remember it (allegedly I was asked during setup but I don't remember that). Anyway, so I uninstalled Pg with the intention of reinstalling it, removed the user account, it's /Users/ directory and it's special privelleges ("Advanced user profile properties") but when I come to install Pg it seems to think the account still exists as when I supply a password during setup it says that it is not the correct password - meaning that the account still exists somewhere. Is there anyway I can recover this?
