• Share code between projects in tfs 2010

  Hi What is the best way to handle code sharing in TFS 2010? We have a couple of Visual studio projects that other Visual Studio projects use. ex: Shared Project Project 1 Solution -Shared Project -Project 1 Project Project 2 Solution -Shared Project -Project 2 Project Also we have Third party code for example: Third Party -Telerik --2009.1.402.35 --2009.02.0701.35 When I open my "Project 1" solution i want my shared code project to be included in that solution. (thats the way we work today). We basically have one TFS Project that contains all the code. Now we want to use it the "right" (?) way, We would like to have Project 1 and 2 in separate TFS solutions. If I for example makes sure we have all our project in the same structure on disk and just add the shared project to my Project 1 solution (even if the projects reside in two different TFS Projects) would that work with builds? How have you solved the problem, I guess we are not the only ones having shared code between projects? Cheers /Jimmy

• How to parse amadeus air ticket file

  Amadeous produces AIR file like below for every flyight reservation. I need to read reservation number and source and destionation airports from this file. I searched goog for "amadeous air format" but havent found format description. Wikipedia entry about EDIFACt is a bit different, it does not describe this content. Where to fnd information about the file structure ? How to parse this file ? I have not idea about the file stucture, does it contain records like sql table or is it some reservation protocol instructions like postscript file ? Application should work in Microsoft Windows and preferably in Visual FoxPro or C# language. FoxPro or Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 Express can used as programming environment Google returns only Amadeus users guides and tutorials like in comment and in http://www.amadeusschweiz.com/en/documentation/usermanuals.html Those are user manuals. Most promising looks Amadeus Air user guide from this: File which I received name was air.txt and first token in file is AIR-BLK206 Maybe BLK206 is some booking format descriptor. Google returns some documens like my using this so it looks like it is commonly used. This file probably describes how to reserve ticket, which produces air.txt file. I seacrched this and ticket user guide for BLK but those do not contains this abbreviation. Commands in user manual look different than those from this file. How to use this information to extract reservation number and destination airport from this file ? I havent found format description using google. There are amadeus user guides, tutorials ja quick reference files similar which you posted but I do'nt understand how to use them to parse this file. One message describes that this is form of EDIFACT. However EDIFACT message sample in Wikipedia is also diffrerent. I need to create quick prototype to customer which shows that we vcan read those files. Maybe there are some programs which can used to display it in human readable form ?

• Entity Framework with MySQL - Timeout Expired while Generating Model

  I've constructed a database in MySQL and I am attempting to map it out with Entity Framework, but I start running into "GenerateSSDLException"s whenever I try to add more than about 20 tables to the EF context. An exception of type 'Microsoft.Data.Entity.Design.VisualStudio.ModelWizard.Engine.ModelBuilderEngine+GenerateSSDLException' occurred while attempting to update from the database. The exception message is: 'An error occurred while executing the command definition. See the inner exception for details.' Fatal error encountered during command execution. Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. There's nothing special about the affected tables, and it's never the same table(s), it's just that after a certain (unspecific) number of tables have been added, the context can no longer be updated without the "Timeout expired" error. Sometimes it's only one table left over, and sometimes it's three; results are pretty unpredictable. Furthermore, the variance in the number of tables which can be added before the error indicates to me that perhaps the problem lies in the size of the query being generated to update the context which includes both the existing table definitions, and also the new tables that are being added to it. Essentially, the SQL query is getting too large and it's failing to execute for some reason. If I generate the model with EdmGen2 it works without any errors, but the generated EDMX file cannot be updated within Visual Studio without producing the aforementioned exception. In all likelihood the source of this problem lies in the tool within Visual Studio given that EdmGen2 works fine, but I'm hoping that perhaps others could offer some advice on how to approach this very unique issue, because it seems like I'm not the only person experiencing it. One suggestion a colleague offered was maintaining two separate EBMX files with some table crossover, but that seems like a pretty ugly fix in my opinion. I suppose this is what I get for trying to use "new technology". :(

• Issues integrating NCover with CC.NET, .NET framework 4.0 and MsTest

  I'm implementing continuous integration with CruiseControl.NET, .NET 4.0, NCover and MsTest. On the build server I'm unable to run code coverage from the Ncover explorer or NCover console. When I run where vstesthost.exe from the Ncover console it returns the Visual Studio 9.0 path and does not seem to pick up .net framework 4.0. I've followed instructions from this MSTest: Measuring Test Quality With NCover post with slight modifications for .net framework 4.0, without any success. Although you may not realize it, you have seen Diophantine equations before: one of the most famous Diophantine equations is: We are not certain that McDonald's knows about Diophantine equations (actually we doubt that they do), but they use them! McDonald's sells Chicken McNuggets in packages of 6, 9 or 20 McNuggets. Thus, it is possible, for example, to buy exactly 15 McNuggets (with one package of 6 and a second package of 9), but it is not possible to buy exactly 16 nuggets, since no non- negative integer combination of 6's, 9's and 20's adds up to 16.   I have been struggling to load the rJava package in R.   Hi, I am making my Master's Thesis with LaTeX, but I can't get the provided style to work. Specifically, I get the error 'Undefined control sequence' when using the function makeformaltitlepages, which is defined in mscthesis.sty. On the internet, the only answer I could find is the straightforward 'you probably made a typo', or 'you probably forgot to include the package', but I have reason to believe neither of those apply to me. I am quite sure that the function exists, for when I add a little verification, using the @ifundefined command, the logfile shows that the function actually does exist.   I'm trying to install Android SDK on Ubuntu but fail when I try to use the SDK Manager and AVD Manager to install Android platforms. I've downloaded: android-sdk_r04-linux_86.tgz The I start the SDK Manager and AVD Manager (UI) according to the README file: ./tools/android And I get the following Installed Packages: - Install SDK Tools, revision 4 Available Packages: - https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repoisotry/repository.xml - This repository requires a more recent version of the Tools. Please update- - Android SDK Tools, revision 4 - Archive for Linux (comment: funny since rev 4 seems to be what's installed this is what seems to be installed) Now doing an update of the Android SDK Tools, revision 4 or everything results in 99% progress and then the application hangs. • Entity Framework 4 "Generate Database from Model" to SQLEXPRESS mdf results in "Could not locate ent

  I'm using Visual Studio 2010 RTM. I want to do model-first, so I started a new MVC app and added a new blank edmx. Created a few entities. No problem. Then I "Generate Database from Model", and allow the dialog to create a new database for me, which it does successfully as 'mydatabase.mdf' in the app's App_Data directory. Then I open the generated sql file (in Visual Studio). To run it of course I have to give it a connection. I am not sure if it's right, but I used '.\SQLEXPRESS' and Windows authentication. No idea how I'd tell it where the MDF is. Then the problem -- upon executing it, I get: Msg 911, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Could not locate entry in sysdatabases for database 'mydatabase'. No entry found with that name. Make sure that the name is entered correctly. And indeed there were no tables created in the MDF. So... what am I doing wrong, or am I off my rocker expecting this to work? :)

  Hi, I am setting the dynamic xaml (I am reading the xaml from the DB) for the content of a tab using the below statement. • Pass dataset to subreport with SQL Server Reporting Services

  I'm using SQL Server Reporting Services and the report designer that comes with Visual Studio. I've got a really big report. It's actually so large that Visual Studio hangs (sometimes for hours at a time) or just crashes when I make changes. There is preciously little I can do to solve the problem, so I've decided to just move the bottom half of the report into a sub-report. So, I started with one enormous, unresponsive report and ended with two small, manageable reports -- surprisingly, this actually works. One problem: my subreport uses the same data as my main report. Right now, it populates its dataset by re-querying the database. The extra round-trip to the database causes the report to take twice as long to generate; up from 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours to generate. I'd like to avoid hitting the database again, and instead use the same dataset in both reports. How can I share or pass a dataset between a report and subreport?

• How to list column headers of a SQL Server table using sp_help perhaps?

  Hi, I have a few tables with 70-80 columns in them. I would like to populate them with somewhat random data, unless I will not be able to do so due to key violation, etc. The first step would be simply to get the list of all headers. There seem to be two ways: A) Run select * from table_of_interest; in MSFT SQL Server Management Studio 2008. Now, right-click the result and click "Copy With headers". However, I get zero rows back, and when I try to copy nothing + headers, I get: TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio ------------------------------ Value cannot be null. Parameter name: data (System.Windows.Forms) ------------------------------ BUTTONS: OK ------------------------------ This looks like a bug ... anyhow ... there is another way. B) I can run sp_help table_of_interest;. However, I end up getting too much back. I get 7 different tables back but I am only interested in the second one. The columns of the second table are: Column_name | Type | Computed | Length | Prec | Scale | Nullable | TrimTrailingBlanks | FixedLenNullInSource | Collation I might be interested in just a Column_name and Type, but maybe other columns. So ... since sp_help probably runs a bunch of queries ... how do I get under the hood? How can I run the second query AND filter down the number of columns that I am interested in? Many Thanks!

  I have this VisualBrush resource I took from some site and I apply it with triggers to a TextBox. <VisualBrush x:Key="HelpBrush" TileMode="None" Opacity="0.4" Stretch="None" AlignmentX="Left"> <VisualBrush.Visual> <TextBlock FontStyle="Italic" Text="{Binding Path=Tag, RelativeSource={RelativeSource AncestorType={x:Type Control}, AncestorLevel=1}}"/> </VisualBrush.Visual> </VisualBrush> <Style x:Key="DefaultText" TargetType="TextBox"> <Style.Triggers> <Trigger Property="Text" Value="{x:Null}"> <Setter Property="Background" Value="{StaticResource HelpBrush}"/> </Trigger> <Trigger Property="Text" Value=""> <Setter Property="Background" Value="{StaticResource HelpBrush}"/> </Trigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> If I place both the VisualBrush and the Style inside the TextBox.Resources tag in XAML, it works fine. But if I take it out and place it in the Window.Resources or a merged dictionary, it stops working. The problem is the Binding, it doesn't find the ancestor TextBox for some reason. I already tried removing AncestorLevel and using AncestorType={x:Type TextBox} - it doesn't work. Any ideas?

• Injecting Mockito mocks into a Spring bean

  I would like to inject a Mockito mock object into a Spring (3+) bean for the purposes of unit testing with JUnit. My bean dependencies are currently injected by using the @Autowired annotation on private member fields. I have considered using ReflectionTestUtils.setField but the bean instance that I wish to inject is actually a proxy and hence does not declare the private member fields of the target class. I do not wish to create a public setter to the dependency as I will then be modifying my interface purely for the purposes of testing. The actual error happens when i try to just create a word application object Dim oWord As New Word.Application Using Visual Studio 2008 and VB.NET 3.5. I made a reference to the "Microsoft Word 10.0 Object Library" and i see Interop.Word.dll file in the bin directory. Using MS Office 2003 on development machine and Windows Server 2003 Still fairly new to .NET and don't have much knowledge about window server, but "UnauthorizedAccessException" sounds like a permission issue. I'm wondering if someone could point me in the right direction on what i might need to do to give my little application access to use word. Thank you so much for your time.

• SharePoint Webpart and ASP.NET User Control

  I am developing SharePoint Web Parts for MOSS 2007 on Visual Studio 2008. Up until now, I've been adding all my controls by hand to the code behind... but an earlier post suggested I could use the designer to create an ASP.NET User Control, then add it to the webpart, and everything is happy... See figure 5 for an example. However, I can't seem to add a new ASP.NET User Control to my MOSS WebPart project, the template just doesn't appear. If I create a WebApplication and make my User Control in there, I can't see any SharePoint templates to add to the project. Finally, I tried copying a simple aspx file and its code behind to my webpart directly, and adding them as an "existing component"... but now the designer won't recognize the aspx file. Next, I'd probably try adding two projects to my solution, and just referencing any dll's from the ASP.NET application... So how do I get an ASP control into my SharePoint WebPart project so that I can use the Visual Studio designer?

• findViewById undefined

  Eclipse is marking findViewById(int) as undefined; it was doing the same thing for getResources(), but I was able to get around that by calling context.getResources() instead (as seen below) and can't seem to find a similar workaround for findViewById.   I have been struggling to load the rJava package in R. • HL7 parsing in PHP

  Hi all, I'm looking into options for parsing HL7 messages via PHP. I'm aware of the Net_HL7 package on PEAR but to be perfectly honest, I don't think that I want to base my code around a seemingly 'abandoned' package and even if I did, I just don't think that my brain suits the functions 'correctly'. Maybe if I had more of an HL7 background it would make a bit more sense, I don't know. Anyway: I'm guessing that 95% of the time, I'm going to be parsing and reading data from messages. The other 5%, I'll be creating and/or sending messages. I don't necessarily need to do any form of validation on the messages themselves, I just need to pull/push data. I definitely need support for 'non-XML' HL7 v2.x, but naturally XML-based v2 and v3 would be a bonus. So does anyone have any suggestions as to other libraries that I might use? I'm looking for pure PHP solutions as I want to have minimal requirements on the server that aren't "copy this directory here". Thanks!

• Starting Wicket web application with OSGi HTTP Service

  I'm trying to start a Wicket Application using Felix implementation of OSGi HTTP service, for that I just register the service using WicketServlet with applicationClassName parameter: props.put("applicationClassName", MainApplication.class.getName()); service = (HttpService)context.getService(httpReference); service.registerServlet("/", new WicketServlet(), props, null); I have also tried using Felix Whiteboard implementation and registering the web service as a Servlet one: props.put("alias", "/"); props.put("init.applicationClassName", MainApplication.class.getName()); registration = context.registerService(Servlet.class.getName(), new WicketServlet(), props); In both cases it fails when I deploy it using Pax Runner and Felix (mvn package install pax:run -Dframework=felix -Dprofiles=log,config), the exception seems to be related with the ClassLoader: [Jetty HTTP Service] ERROR org.apache.felix.http.whiteboard - Failed to register servlet org.apache.wicket.WicketRuntimeException: Unable to create application of class es.warp.sample.HTTPLocalGUI.MainApplication .... .... at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:252) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:320) at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method) at java.lang.Class.forName(Class.java:247) .... .... I have tried to export everything in the bundle and it does the same. The strangest thing is that it works perfectly if I deploy it using Equinox (mvn package install pax:run -Dframework=felix -Dprofiles=log,config). It seems to be a visibilty issue, but I don't know how to fix it, am I doing something wrong? Should I try to extend WicketServlet to take control on the instantiation of the application? Or maybe using an application Factory? Any light is welcomed.

• How to detect if a Surface Contact is over a ScatterView?

  This is a (kind of) similar situation as in the SDK Sample Shopping Cart for MS Surface. I have an application with two ScatterViews. The first covers the complete Surface window ('surface'). The second resides in a TagVisualization object ('pod'). There might be more than one pod available (if more than one tag is down on the table). I would like to be able to drag a ScatterViewItem from the 'pod' to the 'surface' or another 'pod'. I have no problems in detecting if a ScatterViewItem is leaving its ScatterView parent. Also, no problems in reparenting the ScatterViewItem. However, I want to detect which ScatterView the item is being dragged on. In the SDK Sample they have used a visual element (an ellipse in this case) which is below the ScatterViews. VisualTreeHelper.HitTest is used to determine if the contact is over the ellipse. If so, the 'connected' ScatterView is found. I don't think this is a very elegant solution. I wouldn't want a visual element put in there, just to detect if a contact is over a ScatterView. Are there betterwways to accomplish this kind of 'hittesting'? Thanks, Bart

• MATLAB Builder NE crash apppool on IIS 7.5

  Im developing a web user interface for MATLAB functions with ASP.NET. Ive started with studying demos and stucked with such problem. I created a MyComponent.dll assembly with deploytool from MATLAB 2010a, target framework - 3.5. This component has one function GetKnot() which returns a figure. function df = getKnot() f = figure('Visible', 'off'); knot; df = webfigure(f); close(f); end Then I made simple webapp in visual studio 2008 sp1, with only one page Default.aspx. I added references to MWArray.dll, WebFiguresService.dll and MyComponent.dll. The codeBehind is: using System; using System.Web; using System.Web.UI; using System.Web.UI.WebControls; using MyComponent; using MathWorks.MATLAB.NET.WebFigures; namespace MATLAB_WebApplication { public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { var myComponentClass = new MyComponentClass(); var x = myComponentClass.getKnot(); //WebFigureControl1.WebFigure = new WebFigure(); } } } When I run this page on Visual Studio`s Development web server - everything is fine, figure works. But when I`m trying to deploy webfigure on my local iis 7.5 which runs on Win7 x32 - iis app pool crashes. There is an entry in System Event Log "A process serving application pool 'Classic .NET AppPool' suffered a fatal communication error with the Windows Process Activation Service. The process id was '3676'. The data field contains the error number 6D000780". This happens when MyComponent is instantiating. What I could forget when moved to IIS? Other examples, like magic square console application, runs perfect, and every matlab component instantiating, but not in IIS environment.
