Edit : The Solution : Upgrade kernel and then update all graphic card drivers.Now there is no problem .

• Internet Not Working... Initially Worked fine

  I am using an HP Pavilion desktop, not sure of exact model, etc. Initially saucy looked and worked great. It's my parents, and after two days of no issues, they started having more than a few. The mostly use the internet to access email and videos. I believe Google Chrome was the only application they used. Then, the internet stopped working. Restarting didn't fix it, neither did turning the internet on and off. The computer went from lightening fast to inexplicably slow. I've read some other posts about the internet not working, but none seemed applicable. Any suggestions?

The main problem with them, is that you have to have your project be open source to use them, so anybody can edit them. So... is there some way I can have my own svn repositories on my own server? • Event Aggregator.. not getting a response, how to determine completion?

  I'm rewriting a vehicle tracking application, a google maps based thing.. The users are able to search for a vehicle by typing a few characters of the vehicles "callsign". My application is based around a sort of "event bus" within Backbone.. when a search occurs I send a message on the bus saying something like "does anyone match this?".. If a marker matches the search term it responds with a sort of "yes, I match!".. My challenge arises when no-one matches, I get no response.. it feels a little hacky to "wait a little while" and check if a response has been recieved.. The application is based around Backbone.js and using the Event Aggregator pattern described in the answer to this question on Stack Overflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7708195/access-function-in-one-view-from-another-in-backbone-js Is there a well defined design pattern that might assist me here? Sending a request for a response and not getting any responses?

  So I have created a video website which has thousands of videos and thousands of videos get added to it on a daily basis. Here is my problem :- I have created a website which basically loads the skeleton in html and puts all the content through javascript and Ajax. The problem is search engines aren't going anywhere except for the home page. Is there a way say in robots.txt where i give a link to a single html which has links to all these videos ? I agree my site is not accessible for a non-javascript user but stats show that this ratio is very low ( 0.2 % ). Is there a way I can still keep the complete AJAX website and still get each individual videos listed on google ?

• Big delay to open web pages on Ubuntu 11.10; also slow torrent client speed

  The keywords for my issue are too common among other issues, so, I couldn't find anything that could answer me: why will it take around 30+ seconds for any of my browsers to open a page? happens even with google.com... with both Firefox and Chromium. This does not happen while I use Windows, from exactly the same point at my house (I've got enough wi-fi signal here for sure). Also, the standard torrent client won't hit the max download speed... I can hit 1 Mb/s with utorrent on Windows, and can't go over 300 kbps here. I tried changing the program settings, no results. Please help me. I REALLY don't wanna go back to Windows. Thanks in advance, I admire this community, and I'm sorry that I couldn't find something that could help me. I already solved a lot of issues without asking, but couldn't do it this time.

  How can I make Ubuntu run completely off of a flash drive? I have downloaded Ubuntu onto a 4gb flash drive but no changes I make are saved between sessions. I want to be able to run and save everything I do to the flash drive. I don't want it interfering with my hard drive at all. I just want to be able to plug my flash drive in the computer boot Ubuntu, and for it to save my changes. E.g. When I install Google Chrome, when I reboot it isn't there.

• Ubuntu One Client 3.02b stuck at "File Sync Starting" on Windows XP 32-bit

  I have been using Ubuntu One on Natty on my laptop and (sad) Win-XP 32-bit on my desktop. At first, the sync function worked well on both platforms but now it's stuck at "File sync starting" on Win-XP 32-bit. I have already tried to uninstall it completely (removed device, deleted folder, restarted pc) and reinstall it but no luck. It is able to display a list of "My Personal Folders" though. I did some Google-ing and found someone had similar problem on Win7 64-bit and some said the bug is resolved since version 3. Unfortunately that's not the case for me. As the title suggests, I am running v3.02b on WinXP. Any help / comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  I intend to use google analyticts, and as I understand it I will need to offer users the option to opt out of cookies. The question is this: I HATE these constant cookie option boxes, everyone I ask it getting annoyed by them too. Its nice to have the option, but we all know they have been in use for well over a decade. So - how big of a deal do I have to make about the fact that I'm using GoogleAn? can I pop a small link at the bottom of the page, maybe integrate it into "Privacy policies" page, and give people the option to opt out there? This would be very much the "Assume the majority of users don't mind, but at least make the option available" stance. Ironically setting a cookie seems to be the only way I can see to enforce the opt-out! as IP's change.

  When writing a small utility app, that does just one thing, should that one thing be encapsulated in a seperate class, or just let it be part of whatever class/module is used to start the application? I.e. Main would consist of 2 or three lines calling the constructor and then the DoIt methods, nothing else. Or should Main be the DoIt method, with whatever functions it needs added to the main class? Asking because I want to get some alternative perspective, but couldn't find a similar question.   I am new to this but I have watched many video how to dual boot Ubuntu with windows 8. I have HP pavilion g6 notebook with 4 GB RAM and Intel i5 processor. I am installing Ubuntu 13.10 with windows 8. In the process of installation I select something else then make some partion as mentioned here. /dev/sda6. 2048 mb of swap area /dev/sda7. 18 GB of / And then I click on install. When installation starts it stuck when grub is installing And message arose as grub install dummy fails. This is a fatal error. I have searched about this on Google many others have faced same problem but none of them helped me. I think the problem is of uefi system. Is there any way so I can dual boot Ubuntu with windows 8.

  I'm reworking our site to reduce HTTP requests and blocking requests by concatenating JS, css, gzipping, loading all JS via LABjs and using CSS sprites for images that were loaded individually via <img> tags before. Progress has been great so far - 5x page load performance improvement. However, we're in the top 5 organic search ranking in google for many targeted keywords and phrases. I'm afraid eliminating so many img tags with alt attributes can hurt our SEO. Does anyone have any experience with alt tag manip/removal and effects on SEO positions? Is previous rank "sticky"?
