• django: how to interconnect various logical pieces of a webpage

  Hi, everyone. I'm just starting with django, so sorry for a possibly stupid question. Imagine, I have a webpage with 3 logical pieces: content, dynamic menu, banners. It seems ok to me to have a template with something like: {% include "banners.html" %} {% include "menu.html" %} {% include "content.html" %} But then, how do I do it? Every piece has its separate logic in a separate view in its' separate app. How do I trigger execution of all three views and render all three templates? P.S. Is there a sourceforge-like site for django apps where I could take a look at how people are doing stuff in real projects?

• require wp-load.php 3 directories back

  I'm trying to include a file (/wp-load.php) at the beginning of the /html/ directory. • Faking user interaction on CMS

  I'm working with a CMS and need to import data to it using typical html forms. The data itself is in csv files with one page per row. Such is the CMS that importing directly to db isn't possible due to the complexity of the design. It's pretty important that i "fake" usual user interaction because the CMS does a lot of background work that's crucial for the import. Basically, for each row in the csv file, I need to copy a csv column to a html textfield, or select a checkbox, or click a certain button. One major issue is mapping the data in the csv to actions in the CMS. So if one column contains the string 'foobar' is really means "set the firstName dropdown widget to 'foobar'". Is there a tool to automate this? I´ve been looking at AutoHotKey, Selendium, Web-Harvester and many other tools but I'm not convinced they are the correct tools. The main problem is being able to interact with the html pages in a easy way.

• url encoded forward slashes breaking my codeigniter app

  i’m trying to create a url string that works like this: /app/process/example.com/index.html so in other words, /app/process/$URL i then retrieve the url with $this->uri->segment(3); the forward slashes in the URL will of course be a problem accessing uri segments, so i’ll go ahead and url encode the URL portion: /app/process/example.com%2Findex.html .. but now I just get a 404 saying ... Not Found The requested URL /app/process/example.com/index.html was not found on this server. it appears that my url encoding of forward slashes breaks CI’s URI parser. what can i do to get around this problem?

• Joining links together in a dictionary

  Hi guys, I'm student here, new to python and programming in general. I have a dictionary links which holds a tuple mapped to a number. How can I join the second url in the second tuple together with the urljoin() function? What I'm trying to do is get complete links so I can run a recursive function search() which takes a complete url as an arguement, finds all the links in each url and stores the number of links mapped to the links in a database. • Hidden Input Elements in Firefox

  I'm having troubles with fckeditor in Firefox. When the user goes to a page, the html (encoded) is stored in a hidden input element. I call the predefined fckeditor javascript event to populate my editor with the html from the hidden ContentBody element. function FCKeditor_OnComplete( editorInstance ) { editorInstance.InsertHtml(""); var sample = document.getElementById("ContentBody").value; editorInstance.InsertHtml(sample); } This automatically populates the editor with the desired text in IE, but in Firefox it doesn't. Firebug gives me the error : A is null [Break on this error] var FCKW3CRange=function(A){this._Docume...eateFromRange(this._Document,this);}};\r\n Using Firebug I can determine that the event method FCKeditor_OnComplete() just isn't fired when using Firefox.   I'm planning to develop a PHP Web App, it will mainly be used by registered users(sessions) While thinking about the DB design, I was contemplating that in order to give the best user experience possible there would be lots of options for the user to activate, deactivate, specify, etc. For example: - Options for each layout elements, dialog boxes, dashboard, grid, etc. - color, size, stay visible, invisible, don't ask again, show everytime, advanced mode, simple mode, etc. This would get like 100s of fields ranging from simple Yes/No or 1 to N values..., for each user. So, is it having a field for each of these options the way to go? or how do those CRMs or CMS or other Web Apps do it to store lots of 1-2 char long values? Do they group them on Text fields separated by a special char and then "explode" them as an array for runtime usage? thank you

• JQuery Autocomplete CSS not working?

  I am trying to implement JQuery Autocomplete pluggi using Django. I've been able to wire the thing together and I can actually see the result back in the HTML template. My problem is that the JQuery Autocomplete CSS doesn't seem to work. The results I get are not well formatted/styled, and they have no background and you cannot even select them. What is it that am missing? I have these three files in my media folder same folder: autocomplete.js dimensions.js autocomplete.css In my html template I have the following function: $(function(){ setAutoComplete("tags", "tagResults", "/taglookup/?query="); }); My textfield looks like this; <input type="text" name="tags" value=""> Where do I put the tagResults in my HTML template document? Every time I try to introduce a DIV with id="tagResults", JQuery throws an error. Any ideas?

• maya "export all" window blocks my plugins script UI

  I'm writing a custom File Translator for Maya which can export only (I have only declared the writer function). Currently having a problem with the MEL script which defines the plugin's options as a GUI. Currently I have a blank Maya scene, go to "file-export all". This creates the "File Export All" dialog, I then select my plugin exporter which runs my MEL script to create the bespoke options window. This new window is created behind the "File Export All" dialog and is not selectable! Do I have to place my export plugin specific options within the export all dialog rather than placing them in a separate window? Thanks for any links, tips or pointers you can provide.

  Hi, I am running a query using a scope and some conditions. Something like this: conditions[:offset] = (options[:page].to_i - 1) * PAGE_SIZE unless options[:page].blank? conditions[:limit] = options[:limit] ||= PAGE_SIZE scope = Promo.enabled.active results = scope.all conditions I'd like to add a computed column to the query (at the point when I'm now calling scope.all). Something like this: (ACOS(least(1,COS(0.71106459055501)*COS(-1.2915436464758)*COS(RADIANS(addresses.lat))*COS(RADIANS(addresses.lng))+ COS(0.71106459055501)*SIN(-1.2915436464758)*COS(RADIANS(addresses.lat))*SIN(RADIANS(addresses.lng))+ SIN(0.71106459055501)*SIN(RADIANS(addresses.lat))))*3963.19) as accurate_distance Is there a way to do that without just using find_by_sql and rewriting the whole existing query?   It seems that IE8 defers javascript, but also doesn't block. I've setup a test environment to prove this. • Differences setting content in Forms.WebBrowser control via DocumentText vs. Url

  If I generate some HTML and have it in a string and then say: myWebBrowser.DocumentText = string; It seems to work just fine, except none of the images load (I get the broken image graphic). If, however, I write the string to a file and then say: myWebBrowser.Url = new Uri("file://myfile.html"); Everything works just fine. My question is, what's going on under the covers here that is different? I've verified in both cases that the path to the images (via RClick-View Source) is the same and that all the images do, indeed, exist. In both cases the HTML is exactly the same. Any light that could be shed on this would be appreciated. Thanks!

Until I save that function in a separate .js file and load in the main index file as well as all other files from where I need to trigger that function even though these internal files are going to loaded into the the first main file . I can see in Wireshark that the expected response is coming back to me from the server. • CKEditor plugin: Hightlight selected text by hovering on a new item in the toolbar and selecting fro

  I'm new to the CKEditor and I'm trying to create a simple plugin. What I'm hoping to accomplish is to allow the user to highlight some text and then hover on a new item in the toolbar that drops down on mouse over a few different highlight color options for the text. For example, the user could highlight some text, hover on my new item and then select a highlight color. This will be similar to the 'BGColor' plugin except instead of opening a color palette to choose from, the user would select from a drop down of options similar to when you choose to change the font size you have a list of options such as '10', '11', '12', etc. Any help would be appreciated on how to pull this off. I was hoping to check out how 'BGColor' and 'FontSize' plugins where implemented, but I can't find these in ../ckeditor/_source/plugins. Am I looking in the right spot? Also, the link for plugins here - http://docs.cksource.com/CKEditor_3.x/Developers_Guide isn't clickable so I'm not sure if there's a place for plugin documentation that I can check out.

I'm having trouble submitting a login form via Ajax for a php script to run and return a new set of html items which will be replacing the HTML in #userlinks.... heres what I have so far $("#login_form").submit(function() { return false; }); $('#login_button').click(function(event) { $form = $(this).parent("form"); $.post($form.attr("action"), $form.serialize(), function(data){ $('#userlinks').html(data); }); }); The php script checks for post data of username && password, yet all I'm getting is a page refresh and no changes. Nothing returns unless I turn login_button into a link and change the script a bit... Any help would be appreciated!

I'll also add that the ssi tag gets replaced with nothing.
