  I am working on a Windows Form that connects to a ASP.NET membership database and I am trying to use the AJAX Login Service. No matter what I do I keep on getting 404 errors on the Authentication_JSON_AppService.axd call. • How the JOptionPane works

  How can I control what happens with window after clicking JOPtionPane buttons ? I'm trying to implement simple file chooser. In my frame I have 3 buttons (OK, Cancel, Browse). Browse button opens file search window, and after picking files should return to main frame. Clicking OK will open a frame with the content of the file. Now porblem looks this way. • Telerik RadGrid doesn't seem to export Grouped data

  Hi I've got a DNN application using Telerik RadGrid. We're exporting some data from the Grid but when we drill down on the grid control and export the data we only see the initial top level data, never the updated Grid. Here's my table tag and supporting code. Problem: Datatable ScheduleConfiguration is updated in the UpdateSchedulingRefTable (called from outside world - say manually) but when i try to use Datatable ScheduleConfiguration in GetAndSaveScheduledUpdate, i get the older version of values.... What am I missing in this stuff??? • Why does jquery leak memory so badly?

  This is kind of a follow-up to a question I posted last week: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2429056/simple-jquery-ajax-call-leaks-memory-in-ie I love the jquery syntax and all of its nice features, but I've been having trouble with a page that automatically updates table cells via ajax calls leaking memory. So I created two simple test pages for experimenting. Both pages do an ajax call every .1 seconds. After each successful ajax call, a counter is incremented and the DOM is updated. The script stops after 1000 cycles. One uses jquery for both the ajax call and to update the DOM. The other uses the Yahoo API for the ajax and does a document.getElementById(...).innerHTML to update the DOM. The jquery version leaks memory badly. Running in drip (on XP Home with IE7), it starts at 9MB and finishes at about 48MB, with memory growing linearly the whole time. If I comment out the line that updates the DOM, it still finishes at 32MB, suggesting that even simple DOM updates leak a significant amount of memory. The non-jquery version starts and finishes at about 9MB, regardless of whether it updates the DOM. Does anyone have a good explanation of what is causing jquery to leak so badly? Am I missing something obvious? Is there a circular reference that I'm not aware of? Or does jquery just have some serious memory issues? • Blogger issue with custom background images on Chrome and Safari

  This is weird, the site in question is blog.andrebatista.info and it is a hosted at blogger.com. I'm trying to make the blogger template look the same as the one in my main website, www.andrebatista.info. For some reason if I go directly to the blog address Chrome and Safari fail to display all of my background images... all of them. However if I first go to www.andrebatista.info first and then go to the blog it renders just fine ?¿ The way I'm customizing it is by adding a link to my main site's stylesheet at the very end of the head tag on the blogger template. • Constructing a Binary Tree from its traversals

  I'm trying to construct a binary tree (unbalanced), given its traversals. I'm currently doing preorder + inorder but when I figure this out postorder will be no issue at all. I realize there are some question on the topic already but none of them seemed to answer my question. I've got a recursive method that takes the Preorder and the Inorder of a binary tree to reconstruct it, but is for some reason failing to link the root node with the subsequent children. Note: I don't want a solution. I've been trying to figure this out for a few hours now and even jotted down the recursion on paper and everything seems fine... so I must be missing something subtle. From what I can see though, that should not happen... EDIT: To clarify, the method is throwing the IllegalArgumentException @ line 21 (else branch of the for loop, which should only be thrown if the traversals contain different elements.

  I'm trying to programmatically invoke an onclick event however the click is not received/handled. Am I missing something, or is security preventing the click to be executed? I have a forms application which is invisible. Basically I would like to say: DoDoubleClick(wait, x, y) This should raise two click (mousedown+mouseup) events on screen with the specified wait interval. However the click isn't received in a Flash application in Firefox (which is running at that moment).   This will probably just be a simple problem and I am just blind or an idiot but I could use some help. So I am going over some basic guides in Rails, reviewing the basics and such for an upcoming exam. One of the guides included was the sort-of-standard getting started guide over at guide.rubyonrails.org. Here is the link if you need it. To find the section of code, just hit Ctrl+f on the page (or whatever you have search/find set to) and enter "accepts_".   Hey, we are using Spring Security 2.0.4. We have a TransactionTokenBean which generates a unique token each POST, the bean is session scoped. The token is used for the duplicate form submission problem (and security). The TransactionTokenBean is called from a Servlet filter. Our problem is the following, after a session timeout occured, when you do a POST in the application Spring Security redirects to the logon page, saving the original request. After logging on again the TransactionTokenBean is created again, since it is session scoped, but then Spring forwards to the originally accessed url, also sending the token that was generated at that time. Since the TransactionTokenBean is created again, the tokens do not match and our filter throws an Exception. I don't quite know how to handle this elegantly, (or for that matter, I can't even fix it with a hack), any ideas? • DTGridView losting content while scrolling

  I am using DTGridView from the DTKit by Daniel Tull. I implemented it in a very simple ViewController and the test I am doing is to place a button in the last row of the grid, which should add another row to the grid (and therefor moving the button to a row beneath it). The problem is, when I click the button a couple of times and then start scrolling, the grid seems to lose its content. As I am not completly sure this is a bug in the grid, but more in my code, I hope you guys can help me out and track down the bug. The problem starts, when it starts reusing cells (I am guessing) and content start disappearing. When I scroll back up, the UILabels I am putting in the cells are gone. Is there some bug, code error, mistake, dumb-ass-move I am missing here? Hope anyone can help.

  I've been playing around a little with the Exocortex implementation of the FFT, but I'm having some problems. Whenever I modify the amplitudes of the frequency bins before calling the iFFT the resulting signal contains some clicks and pops, especially when low frequencies are present in the signal (like drums or basses). However, this does not happen if I attenuate all the bins by the same factor. Let me put an example of the output buffer of a 4-sample FFT: // Bin 0 (DC) FFTOut[0] = 0.0000610351563 FFTOut[1] = 0.0 // Bin 1 FFTOut[2] = 0.000331878662 FFTOut[3] = 0.000629425049 // Bin 2 FFTOut[4] = -0.0000381469727 FFTOut[5] = 0.0 // Bin 3, this is the first and only negative frequency bin.   I been finding that for something that I consider pretty import there is very little information or libraries on how to deal with this problem. I found this while searching. I really don't know all the million ways that a hacker could try to insert the dangerous tags. I have a rich html editor so I need to keep non dangerous tags but strip out bad ones. So is this script missing anything? I actually like the idea of whitelisting but never actually did it because no one can actually tell me how to do it in C# and I can't even really find tutorials for how to do it in c#(the last time I looked. I will check it out again). How do you make a white list? Is it just a list collection? How do you actual parse out all html tags, script tags and every other tag? Once you have the tags how do you determine which ones are allowed? Compare them to you list collection? But what happens if the content is coming in and has like 100 tags and you have 50 allowed. You got to compare each of those 100 tag by 50 allowed tags. Thats quite a bit to go through and could be slow. Once you found a invalid tag how do you remove it? I don't really want to reject a whole set of text if one tag was found to be invalid. I rather remove and insert the rest. Should I be using html agility pack?

  I'm trying to build a query for a medical database that counts the number of patients that were on at least one medication from a class of medications (the medications listed below in the FAST_MEDS CTE) and had either: 1) A diagnosis of myopathy (the list of diagnoses in the FAST_DX CTE) 2) A CPK lab value above 1000 (the lab value in the FAST_LABS CTE) and this diagnosis or lab happened AFTER a patient was on a statin. The query I've included below does that under the assumption that once a patient is on a statin, they're on a statin forever. The first CTE collects the ids of patients that were on a statin along with the first date of their diagnosis, the second those with a diagnosis, and the third those with a high lab value. After this I count those that match the above criteria. What I would like to do is drop the assumption that once a patient is on a statin, they're on it for life. The table edw_dm.patient_medications has a column called start_dts and end_dts. This table has one row for each prescription written, with start_dts and end_dts denoting the start and end date of the prescription. End_dts could be null, which I'll take to assume that the patient is currently on this medication (it could be a missing record, but I can't do anything about this). If a patient is on two different statins, the start and ends dates can overlap, and there may be multiple records of the same medication for a patient, as in a record showing 3-11-2000 to 4-5-2003 and another for the same patient showing 5-6-2007 to 7-8-2009. I would like to use these two columns to build a query where I'm only counting the patients that had a lab value or diagnosis done during a time when they were already on a statin, or in the first n (say 3) months after they stopped taking a statin. I'm really not sure how to go about rewriting the first CTE to get this information and how to do the comparison after the CTEs are built. I know this is a vague question, but I'm really stumped. Hope many of you gone through these sort of issues, please can anyone tell me where am making mistake or missing something.

• Help with specific Regex: need to match multiple instances of multiple formats in a single string.

  I apologize for the terrible title...it can be hard to try to summarize an entire situation into a single sentence. Let me start by saying that I'm asking because I'm just not a Regex expert. I've used it a bit here and there, but I just come up short with the correct way to meet the following requirements. The Regex that I'm attempting to write is for use in an XML schema for input validation, and used elsewhere in Javascript for the same purpose. There are two different possible formats that are supported. There is a literal string, which must be surrounded by quotation marks, and a Hex-value string which must be surrounded by braces. Some test cases: "this is a literal string" <-- Valid string, enclosed properly in "s "this should " still be correct" <-- Valid string, "s are allowed within (if possible, this requirement could be forgiven if necessary) "{00 11 22}" <-- Valid string, {}'s allow in strings. Another one that can be forgiven if necessary I am bad output <-- Invalid string, no "s "Some more problemss"you know <-- Invalid string, must be fully contained in "s {0A 68 4F 89 AC D2} <-- Valid string, hex characters enclosed in {}s {DDFF1234} <-- Valid string, spaces are ignored for Hex strings DEADBEEF <-- Invalid string, must be contained in either "s or {}s {0A 12 ZZ} <-- Invalid string, 'Z' is not a valid Hex character To satisfy these general requirements, I had come up with the following Regex that seems to work well enough. I'm still fairly new to Regex, so there could be a huge hole here that I'm missing.: &quot;.+&quot;|\{([0-9]|[a-f]|[A-F]| )+\} If I recall correctly, the XML Schema regex automatically assumes beginning and end of line (^ and $ respectively). So, essentially, this regex accepts any string that starts and ends with a ", or starts and ends with {}s and contains only valid Hexidecimal characters. This has worked well for me so far except that I had forgotten about another (although less common, and thus forgotten) input option that completely breaks my regex. Where I made my mistake: Valid input should also allow a user to separate valid strings (of either type, literal/hex) by a comma. This means that a single string should be able to contain more than one of the above valid strings, separated by commas. Luckily, however, a comma is not a supported character within a literal string (although I see that my existing regex does not care about commas). Example test cases: "some string",{0A F1} <-- Valid {1122},{face},"peanut butter" <-- Valid {0D 0A FF FE},"string",{FF FFAC19 85} <-- Valid (Spaces don't matter in Hex values) "Validation is allowed to break, if a comma is found not separating values",{0d 0a} <-- Invalid, comma is a delimiter, but "Validation is allowed to break" and "if a comma..." are not marked as separate strings with "s hi mom,"hello" <-- Invalid, String1 was not enclosed properly in "s or {}s My thoughts are that it is possible to use commas as a delimiter to check each "section" of the string to match a regex similar to the original, but I just am not that advanced in regex yet to come up with a solution on my own. • Why can't my program display this dialog box, while another program can?

  I'm trying to write a wrapper for Winamp input plugins and have hit a bit of a snag. I'd like my wrapper to be able to display a plugin's configuration dialog, which is (or should be) achieved by calling the plugin's Config(HWND hwndParent) function. For most plugins, this works fine and my program is able to display the plugin's configuration dialog. However, 64th Note (a plugin for playing USF files) is giving me problems. Winamp can display its configuration dialog just fine, but whenever I try to display it from my wrapper, the dialog gets destroyed before it ever shows itself. Thankfully, 64th Note is open source, so I took a look at its innards to try and get an idea of what's going wrong. When I monitored the messages sent to the dialog in its proc function, I saw that WM_DESTROY and WM_NCDESTROY were sent within the first few messages, though I have no clue as to why. If I change the Config function so that it displays the plugin's About dialog instead of its configuration dialog, both Winamp and my wrapper will display the About dialog, which suggests that there is something unique to the configuration dialog template that's causing the problem.   Hi, I am creating a WCF service which is to be hosted in Windows Service. I created a console application as follows I went to management console (services.msc) and started the service. But I got the following error "The LijosWindowsService service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service" I went to the event viewer and got the following "Service cannot be started. System.InvalidOperationException: Service 'Lijo.Samples.WeatherService' has zero application (non-infrastructure) endpoints. This might be because no configuration file was found for your application, or because no service element matching the service name could be found in the configuration file, or because no endpoints were defined in the service element." • Update UI from an event with a thread

  Im working on a small application to try out an idea that I have. The idea is to periodically update the UI when event of some sort occurs. In the demo I've created, I'm updating a ProgressDialog every 2 seconds for 15 turns. The problem I am having, which I don't quite understand is that when an event is handled, I send a message to the handler which is supposed to update the message in the ProgressDialog. When this happens however, I get an exception which states that I can't update the UI from that thread. • Unnecessary Java context switches

  I have a network of Java Threads (Flow-Based Programming) communicating via fixed-capacity channels - running under WindowsXP. What we expected, based on our experience with "green" threads (non-preemptive), would be that threads would switch context less often (thus reducing CPU time) if the channels were made bigger. However, we found that increasing channel size does not make any difference to the run time. What seems to be happening is that Java decides to switch threads even though channels aren't full or empty (i.e. even though a thread doesn't have to suspend), which costs CPU time for no apparent advantage. Also changing Thread priorities doesn't make any observable difference. My question is whether there is some way of persuading Java not to make unnecessary context switches, but hold off switching until it is really necessary to switch threads - is there some way of changing Java's dispatching logic? Or is it reacting to something I didn't pay attention to?! Or are there other asynchronism mechanisms, e.g. Thread factories, Runnable(s), maybe even daemons (!). The answer appears to be non-obvious, as so far none of my correspondents has come up with an answer (including most recently two CS profs). Or maybe I'm missing something that's so obvious that people can't imagine my not knowing it... I've added the send and receive code here - not very elegant, but it seems to work...;-) In case you are wondering, I thought the goLock logic in 'send' might be causing the problem, but removing it temporarily didn't make any difference.
