• Function returns CSV File: How to go about checking it ?

  I am doing something like: $outputFile = getCurrentDBSnapshot($data); where $data is the resource stream that am passing in, basically from command prompt am passing an file and am opening it using fopen for writing with 'w+' permissions, now getCurrentDBSnapshot would get the current state of a table and would update the $data csv file, so basically $outputFile would be updated with the current state of database table, now I want to var_dump or print the value of $outputFile to see the data present into it. But when I do $this->fout = fopen($outputFile,'r') or die('Cannot open file'); $test = fgetcsv($outputFile,5000,":"); var_dump($test); It gives me an error saying that it expects parameter 1 to be a string type and am passing resource. My goal to see the contains of $outputFile and so my question is that How can I see the contains present in $outputFile or how can I see what getcurrentDBSnapshot function is returning me ?

  The animation-enabled example in the SimpleModal site has this animation: 1. Fade in the overlay 2. Just display the modal 2. Fade in the overlay Alas, simply removing the 2nd parameter of dialog.overlay.fadeIn() from the code above doesn't work. I also tried removing the parameters of dialog.container.show(), also changing it to dialog.container.open(). I've tried other combinations of the code, to no avail. How do I achieve the animation that I wish?

First, Should I add anything to my list? Should I remove anything from my list? The items accommodates a large number of cases. However, whenever an app extends a model of another in some way (e.g. adding a field or changing the behavior in some way) I end up writing my own views and only reusing the model. Is this normal?

• iPhone link to map directions using string "current location" not lat and lng for saddr

  I know there are numerous questions about how to construct a sharedApplication link to the maps app specifying the start and end address with coordinates. I've got that working no problem. Has anyone found a way to link with a source address generically specified as "current location". I ask because the scenario I'm working on having Core Location or a UIMapView would only be necessary in order to determine the user location prior to handing off to the map app where the user locating would seem to just happen again. I've tried throwing UTF8'd "Current Location" and "[Current Location]" into the saddr parameter which amusingly starts from Current Montana. I've also tried simply excluding the saddr param. I know this is often tread territory but this particular situation wasn't covered by anything I found searching here or on mapki. Before I add the core location code I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a more limited way to tackle this. Thanks

  Hi, I'm trying to run a batch file as admin. I found that I can use runas command which corresponds sudo command in Linux I think. I tried runas /noprofile /user:computername\adminuser "blah.bat start" But it gives an error, saying : Logon failure: user account restriction.. (msdos window doesn't allow me to coppy damn thing I hate dos anyway .. ) is there anyway, I can run this batch file as admin, right click doesn't work me because I can't give any parameter to it. Any help, I really really apreciated that.

Is there a better way to do this as in a way to fillin the text body box of gmail compose section. Or some way to open the page and have it prefilled with javascript some how...

• Uploadify refuses to upload WMV, FLV and MP4 files - SOLVED

  The uploadify plugin for JQuery seems very good and works for most file types. However, it allows me to upload all file types apart from the ones I need! Namely .WMV, .FLV and .MP4 Uploads of any other type work. I have already tried changing the fileExt parameter and also tried removing it altogether. I have testing in Google Chrome, IE7 and Firefox and none work for these file types. I have a ton of local projects already and uploading is not an issue on any other project, I even use the same example files (This is the first time I have used Uploadify) Is there a known reason for this behaviour? EDIT: Have found the issue. I had forgotten to add my usual .htaccess file to the example project.

  I've been programming in Asp.Net MVC for quite some time now and to expand a little bit beyond the .Net world I've recently began learning Python and Django. I am enjoying Django but one thing I am missing from Asp.Net MVC is the automatic routing from my urls to my controller actions. In Asp.Net MVC I can build much of my application using this single default route: routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = "" } // Parameter defaults ); In Django I've found myself adding an entry to urls.py for each view that I want to expose which leads to a lot more url patterns than I've become used to in Asp.Net MVC. Is there a way to create a single url pattern in Django that will handle "[Application]/view/[params]" in a way similar to Asp.Net MVC? Perhaps at the main web site level?

• Setting the colour scheme for a Silverlight app from an external resource

  I have a Silverlight 3 application containing six custom user controls. I'd like to load the colour scheme for these controls from an external resource. The code and XAML containing a default colour scheme would be built in the XAP. Then a parameter on the object tag would contain a URL from where alternate colours can be dynamically loaded. By the way, the Silverlight 3 application theme feature could be used if that's possible but is really overkill. Only colours need to be changed. Is this possible and how would you recommend to do it?

  I am getting this exception from a MySqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery(): Index and length must refer to a location within the string. I tried manually adding this data in the table from MySQL GUI tools, and it worked perfectly. I see no "out of range" problem in these strings. Does anybody see something wrong?

• Use DivX settings to encode to mp4 with ffmpeg

  I'm used to use VirtualDub to encode a video to AVI container with DivX-codec (and MP3 for audio). Now I'm planning to use ffmpeg to encode videos to MP4 container with h264-codec. What I've figured out is that I need to use libx264 and one of those presets to make anything work. However, I'm amazed about the video bitrate ffmpeg uses for encoding. What I currently have is this little batch file: @ECHO OFF SETLOCAL SET IN=source.avs SET FFMPEG_PATH=C:\Program Files (x86)\ffmpeg SET PRESET=-fpre "%FFMPEG_PATH%\presets\libx264-lossless_slow.ffpreset" SET AUDIO=-acodec libmp3lame -ab 128000 SET VIDEO=-vcodec libx264 -vb 1978000 "%FFMPEG_PATH%\ffmpeg.exe" -i %IN% %AUDIO% %VIDEO% %PRESET% test.mp4 ENDLOCAL With this I tell ffmpeg to use 1978k as the bitrate, but ffmpeg uses 15000k+! I tried other presets, but they don't use my specified bitrate.   I am trying to populate GridView, using EntityDataSource(code behind), I need to able to sort GridView. However when I sort i get error: A property with name 'aspnet_Users.UserId1' does not exist in metadata for entity type So I beleive it is because I generate where parameter in code behind: ActiveEnqDataSource.WhereParameters.Add(new SessionParameter("aspnet_Users.UserId", TypeCode.Object, "UserName")); Full code is : ActiveEnqDataSource.ConnectionString = db.Connection.ConnectionString; ActiveEnqDataSource.DefaultContainerName = "Entities"; ActiveEnqDataSource.EntitySetName = "Enquiries"; ActiveEnqDataSource.Include = "UserCars.CarModel.CarMake, Category, aspnet_Users"; ActiveEnqDataSource.EnableUpdate = true; ActiveEnqDataSource.EnableInsert = true; ActiveEnqDataSource.EnableDelete = true; ActiveEnqDataSource.AutoGenerateWhereClause = true; ActiveEnqDataSource.WhereParameters.Add(new SessionParameter("aspnet_Users.UserId", TypeCode.Object, "UserName")); Any suggestions?   I have some ASP code that creates a virtual directory in IIS. However, when running on IIS7 in Windows Server 2008 R2, the call to GetObject fails with "permission denied". This only occurs when UAC is enabled; the entire process works perfectly if UAC is disabled. Set objIIS = GetObject("IIS://localhost/W3SVC/" & siteNumber & "/Root") siteNumber itself is a valid parameter (as the system works fine if UAC is off). Any ideas of a workaround I can make for this? Unfortunately turning off UAC at this point is not an option.

  hi, I am using jquery ajax method on my aspx page,which will invoke the webmethod in the code behind.Currently the webmethod takes a couple of parameters like firstname,lastname,address etc which I am passing from jquery ajax method using data:JSON.stringify({fname:firstname,lname:lastname,city:city}) now my requirement has been changed such that,the number and type of parameters that are going to be passed is not fixed for ex.parameter combination can be something like fname,city or fname,city or city,lname or fname,lname,city or something else.So the webmethod should be such that it should accept any number parameters.I thought of using arrays to do so, as described here. But I do not understand how can I identify which and how many parameters have been passed to the webmethod to insert/update the data to the DB.Please could someone help me with this? thanks

  Constructor for PHP's exception has third parameter, documentation says: $previous: The previous exception used for the exception chaining. But I can't make it work.   hello everyone. i am using slideshow2 by Aeron Glemann in a website.Does in generate the thumbnails or do i have to provide them?the images iam showing are coming from a cloud, and are passed to the slideshow in an array.the thumbs exist in the cloud. how can i pass them in the array if the show cannot create them? i have used the replace parameter with regex but it shows as thumbnails the full image and nothing happens when i alter the css properties for the thumbnails. the images are displayed. here is the line for the show creation: var myShow = new Slideshow('show', eval(res.value), { controller: true, height: 350,overlap: false, resize: false, hu: '',replace:[/^\S+.(gif|jpg|jpeg|png)$/,'t$1'],thumbnails: true, width: 600}); the value object contains the images from the cloud in format shown below: ['xx.jpg','yy.png',....] thank you very much for your time.

• can i change membership provider GetAllUsers method?

  Hi i am using vb.net and the .net membership provider. i want to bring back a gridview with user account information, like GetAllUsers() does. However i want to only bring back users with certain profile information, that will be users whos profile information matches the selected value in a dropdownlist on the same page. I am using profile provider to record just one extra piece of user information. Can i change or override the GetAllUsers method for this? Adding an extra parameter so its GetAllUsers by Profile. Membership has a FindUsersByName method, i want to do something similar with users by Profile. I am very much a noob with .net programming so i hope i have explained this ok.

I want to be able to search a list of events (that can contain events with duplicate timestamps) fast, so I'd like to use a binary search.
