• Voice command in non-english Windows 7 Home Premium

  Is there a good software to add voice command to my Windows 7 machine? English voice command would work for me, but I am unable to get it via OS both because I use a pt-BR Windows 7, and becuse I only have the Home Premium version. Upgrading is too expensive for me. Do you recommend a good alternative. It could be either free or paid, as long it's good.

I am using command line to install/init database, dbinit -dba %username%,%pwd% -p 4k %dbLocation%, and start database server, dbsrv11 %dbLocation%, in a batch file. What I really want is install my database as Windows service and can be start/running automatically when machine get reboot. But I want to keep using batch for easy intall/uninstall/change it. Any Sybase expert here?

  I just been bugged by the Day light saving hours I seem that 3rd November 2013 01:00:00 start EST time Now ever Time I set my time to 3rd November 2013 00:58:xx(some seconds) and run date it give me valid Time zone i.e EDT but even after the time pass 01:00:00 and I still query the date library I still see the Time zone as EDT and not EST have a look at this screenshot You can clearly see the Time zone saying as EDT even when it is EST any one has a clue for this Update There is one other finding I found if I restart my machine I see this

• Fedora 8 upgrade PHP > 5.2.4

  One of my current company servers is using old Fedora 8 and web apps compatible with PHP 5.2.x. Currently the PHP version is 5.2.4. I would like to upgrade it minimum 5.2.5 so that Drupal-7 can be installed on that machine. The problem is, there are no more repository for Fedora 8, and maybe here someone could help. I can't risk upgrading the OS since I'm not linux expert, and if anything goes wrong I could be in trouble. thanks

  I'm running fully updated snow leapord on a new model imac. I am unable to boot into macosx. I do have build 7600 of windows 7 that the computer will automatically boot to. I do not have the bootcamp manager on windows 7. The computer is not recognizing any held down keys when I try to either boot from cd or force macosx boot or anything. How can I get the computer to load up osx?

  I need to find all compressed files/folders regardless of file format on a Windows Server 2003 machine. Search options do not provide this capability. Is there a way to list/view all compressed files? Perhaps, this can be done by PowerShell using file/folder attributes and put into a txt file with file location. UPD: Under compressed files/folders - I mean files which appear in blue color in Explorer after changing file/folder attribute.

• Smss.exe - setting any core affinity breaks rdp on Windows 7 / Windows Server 2012

  I have tried to set core affinity of smss.exe to not run on one critical core on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008r2. It turns out that simply setting the core affinity to anything (even the full mask that smss.exe already has) seems to work but prevents users from rdp'ing into the machine until it is restarted. The users already logged in may continue to use their sessions. This behaviour does not occur on Windows 8/Windows Server 2012. Does anyone know why it is happening?

  I'm currently using an SATA hard drive on my primary dev machine, but planning to upgrade to an SSD at some point soon. I use TrueImage on a regular basis to make backups, and to upgrade my harddrive without reinstalling everything. Will I be able to restore and boot onto an SSD?   First, I'm not into HTML and PHP programming. A friend's Joomla site was hacked by some sort of html injection, and now every php and html file has an iframe which is linked to some sort of malware page. And now I want to copy the infected files from the server to my machine and "clean" them. Is this dumb and dangerous?

• On Windows Vista administrator account how can I make a printer the default for all other accounts?

  I "administer" a Windows Vista Home Premium machine for my brother's family. After installing a printer using my admin account, I then have to log in to each of the other accounts to set the printer as the default. Very tedious. Is there a a more automated way of doing this?
