C# database file directory

I'm using the windows forms aplication with an ms access database. And i would like to know if there is a way to show the directory of the database file (to save data in it)excpet like this: string connectionString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=save.mdb"; or this: "Data Source=D:\Simonova aktovka na namizju\matura\test5\save.mdb"; couse if i use the first one the aplication undos the changes i've made when i close it(the aplication) the second one makes me have to change the path everytime i bring the aplication to another computer(cous the direktory is different of coars) So... is there another way?

Can I use Lotus Notes to send mail ?

I have to code an app that at some point in time will have to send some reports using Lotus Notes. My questions are : Can I send mail through the Lotus Notes client, or something related to Lotus Notes ( a command line tool maybe? )? If so, where could I find information related to this? I would prefer not having to do it in C/C++, but if no other options' present, that would do. How can I find out the server's address? The GUI is not intuitive, and I can't find the server address. The server's located on another computer on the network.

css opacity not working in IE7

The image is correctly faded on all my computers running IE6, 7 or 8, except for one computer that runs IE7 and doesn't fade the flower, even in noext mode. Reading value of cookie using curl in php

Hello, Im using Firefox 3.5.9. When i visit a url , it sets a cookie on my computer.I can see this cookie in Firefox by going to Tools-Options-Privacy,then clicking on 'Remove Individual Cookies'. There is a folder called xyz,which contains a cookie named JSessionId and which has some Content value . If i use curl in my php code to navigate to that website,is there a way i can read the Content value of that cookie programmatically ? . Some sample code would be really appreciated. Thank You

Is git suitable for one developer without server

I am a single developer without another computer to backup my projects on. I'm looking into source controls and I came across git but all the setup tutorials are targeted to an external server. I used to use SourceGear Vault, but seeing that git is getting alot of attention, I might as well familiarize myself with it. I do not always have internet access. Is Git suitable for me? Can I be pointed in the right direction to set it up? Visual Studio 2008. Windows 7.

Requirements: tiny WinForms client app (C# 4.0, WinForms or WPF) a few users working simultinausly no database service at all - the whole engine as *.DLLs inside client apps database available as shared folder on one computer at least simple concurrrency checks compatible with nHibernate or EntityFramework / NET 4.0 backup as simple as copying files from shared folder - assuming no running clients at the moment no stored procedures/triggers required data size - a few tables and a few thousands rows after 2 years Nice to have: user access rights encrypted data I'm trying to choose between: MS Access SqlLite SqlServer Compact Edition. MS Access antiquated? Anything new in 2011?

Our company has a database of 17,000 entries. We have used MS Access for over 10 years for our various mailings. Is there something new and better out there? I'm not a techie, so keep in mind when answering. Our problems with Access are: -no record of what was deleted, -will not turn up a name in a search if cap's or punctuation is not entered exactly, -is complicated for us to understand the de-duping process. - We'd like a more nimble program that we can access from more than one dedicated computer.

Detect insertion of media into a drive using windows messages

I am currently using WM_DEVICECHANGE to be notified when new USB drives are connected to the computer. This works great for devices like thumb-drives where as soon as the device arrives it is ready to have files read from it. For devices like SD card readers it does not because the message is sent out once when the device is connected but no message is sent when a user actually inserts a card into the device. Is it possible to detect the insertion of new media into an existing USB device without having to use polling?

deploying flex on tomcat

Hello, I am using Flash builder 4 (SDK3.5) to create my flex program. I want to deploy this program and load it to a tomcat server. I configure my "flex server" root folder and other parameters in the project properties. The problem is, that i don't know how to make it generic. e.g. my friend's tomcat is installed in other directory on the computer. I know that in eclipse i can run the server and tomcat from the IDE. I can't see how i do it in Flash builder plugin for eclipse 4. There is a server configuration, but there isn't adapter for tomcat. Any ideas? thanks.

Gracefully trap error on dos start cmd

On a cmd prompt or bat file, I issue the following: start textpad myfile.txt and it works fine. If the program textpad does not exist on the computer, then an error sound and a popup occurs which the OK button must be pushed. I desire to trap this error so that I could do something like start textpad myfile.txt || start notepad myfile.txt where the || implies that if the start of textpad is not successful, then the start of notepad should occur. HOWEVER, I still get the error sound and requirement of hitting OK. My intent is to avoid the sound and the requirement of any user intervention. I have also tried the following bat approach below, to no avail. start textpad if not %ERRORLEVEL% == 0 GOTO END start notepad :END Any help would be great. thanks ted

debugging android app to the phone

I've gone through this page: http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/device.html, My manifest has <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name" android:debuggable="true"> My phone has Menu - Settings - Applications - Development - USB Debugging checked I have gone to the control panel on my Windows XP 64 bit and installed the USB drivers given to me by the SDK installer at: android-sdk_r05-windows\android-sdk-windows\usb_driver So my computer does recognize the android device. However.. when I run an app on Eclipse, it still insists on opening it up in an emulator rather than my phone. How can I fix that?

Disk Cost does not change for a per machine and a per user install

I want to know how can i change or rather the computer changes the disk cost in case of a per user or a per machine install. I have an installer that is approximate 50 MB in size when i check in the program files how ever when i am using the DiskCostDlg it shows me 96 MB , i am doing a per user and a per machine install and i am surprised to see that in both the cases the disk requirement is same. I need to know if there is a possibility of changing the disk requirements or is it a default property of the Wix Installer. Thanks

Coffeeshop limits Internet connection to 30 minutes -- how does it recognize me if I delete my cooki

I was connected to the Internet in a coffeeshop earlier today, but I was only allowed 30 minutes of access. I tried deleting my cookies after my time was up (though admittedly I didn't delete my Flash cookies -- would that have solved the problem?), but the connection still recognized that I'd already used 30 minutes, so I couldn't connect again. How did the connection recognize me still? The wireless was unprotected (no code or password), it just had a portal you had to pass through upon the initial connection. I'm not terribly familiar with web development or computer networks, so just trying to get a better idea of what's happening (and possibly to know what to do next time I use up my minutes =)).

Help setting up IIS 7.0

I am trying to setup IIS on my laptop. I have followed a guide which said to go to: Control Panel Programs Turn Windows Features On / Off Click on IIS. I have done this and my computer now says that IIS is running. However when I visit http://localhost in my browser I get a 'Page Cannot be Displayed' error. scenerio:- a database server running sql server 2005 and sql server management studio 2005 express editions a web server running IIS 5.0v using windows xp pro. two other computer having windows xp and windows 98 i have a linksys router which i use to access point for wireless (laptop) there are 5 sockets behind it four for clients and one for internet. i would like to setup a LAN- something like a private hosting area with two clients. would should i do? where to connect what and what would the changes in settnigs be. right now it uses dhcp or something to assign ips. where will the webserver be attached to the internet socket? where will the db server be attached? any guide, links, help thank you

Find&Replace using Python - Binary file

Hello, I'm attempting to do a "find and replace" in a file on a Mac OS X computer. Although it appears to work correctly. It seems that the file is somehow altered. The text editor that I use (Text Wrangler) is unable to even open the file once this is completed. Here is the code as I have it: import fileinput for line in fileinput.FileInput("testfile.txt",inplace=1): line = line.replace("newhost",host) print line, When I view the file from the terminal, it does say "testfile" may be a binary file. See it anyway? Is there a chance that this replace is corrupting the file? Do I have another option for this to work? I really appreciate the help. Inverse Factorial Function (Prolog)

I have to write a Prolog program to computer the inverse of factorial function without using division. I was also given the note: "the inverse of a function is not necessarily a function". I have this is a normal factorial predicate.. fact(0,1). fact(N,F) :- N0, N1 is N-1, fact(N1,F1), F is N * F1. I've read on some other posts that you should be able to just switch around the arguments, but that doesn't seem to be the case with this version. Could anyone help me out with figuring out why?

Is there a way to automate MS Office applications without license?

I am currently writing an application that will perform automation in Excel. I have MS Office (2007) installed on my work computer and the application is working fine referencing the the Microsoft Excel 12.0 Object Lirary. The target machine has the Office installed but not registered. It is one of those preinstalled editions. Attempting to run the application on the target machine I get an error saying Office is not installed? I'm assuming then you have to have a registed Office to use the object libraries? Is there anyway around this as I do not have a Office license key lying around and its quite expensive?

How to add debug assemblies to my Silverlight 2 application?

So I know now that the debug assemblies have been intentionally left out of the Silverlight runtime to save space. For that reason I get good detailed error messages on my local machine that has the Silverlight SDK on it, but I don't on a computer with the runtime only. I get the ubiquitous, "Debugging resource strings are unavailable." Unfortunately my requirements are a bit unique. I need to include the debug assembly (not sure which one yet) that will give me details of a regular expression error. And so essentially I want to include the dll in the xap if I can. The problem is that I can't seem to do this. I've tried adding the debug dll's as references and setting them to "copy local." And I've tried adding them into the project as content. But in fact, with either method the xap hardly grows in size and the error message doesn't change. Any ideas?

How can i get the LAN IP-address of a computer using Java? I want the IP-address which is connected to the router and the rest of the network. I've tried something like this: Socket s = new Socket("www.google.com", 80); String ip = s.getLocalAddress().getHostAddress(); s.close(); This seem to work on some cases, but sometimes it returns the loopback-address or something completely different. Also, it requires internet connection. Does anyone got a more accurate method of doing this?

Creating a Mac OS application that interacts with all text fields

What would be the first step to creating an application for Mac OS X that would take user interaction from any text field in the system? A couple examples of apps that do this are TextExpander and Typinator. What I want to do would be using similar functions to access Text fields throughout the computer during user input to give other additional options, I'm just not sure where to even start in Xcode and with what type of project to use. Any help or links would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
