  • Drop target - where do I register the COleDropTarget variable if the view class doesn't have OnCreat

    The MSDN site says: From your view class's function that handles the WM_CREATE message (typically OnCreate), call the new member variable's Register member function. Revoke will be called automatically for you when your view is destroyed. But I don't have an OnCreate function in the ChildView class. I do have OnCreate in the CMainFrame class. Can I register it there? What are the ramifications? PLEASE NOTE: I have it working for dropping files but I want to drop the text as a file, not at a cursor location like a text cut and paste, but rather I want the application to make a buffer to hold it, and I will treat it like a file.     Hi All, In WPF4.0, I have a class that contains other class types as properties (combining multiple data types for display). The "Credit" property gets displayed correctly, but the OwnerName property does not. Instead, I get a binding error: Error 40: BindingExpression path error: 'OwnerName' property not found on 'object' ''ForDisplay' (HashCode=449124874)'. BindingExpression:Path=OwnerName; DataItem='ForDisplay' (HashCode=449124874); target element is 'TextBlock' (Name=txtOwnerName'); target property is 'Text' (type 'String') I don't understand why this is attempting to look for the OwnerName property in the ForDisplay class, rather than in the Owner class from the ForDisplay OwnerData property. Edit It appears that it has something to do with using the custom control.   • Asynchronous Silverlight WCF callback

    I've created my own WCF service and I've successfully been able to talk to it via my Silverlight client. I ran into an interesting problem on my asynchronous callbacks though. When my callback is invoked, I can't update any UI controls with the dreaded invalid cross thread access Here's what my callback function looks like private void GetTimeCallBack( object sender, Talk.ClientBase<IService>.ClientEventArgs e ) { lblDisplay.Text = e.Object.ToString(); } A quick google search showed me that I have to do this instead. private void GetTimeCallBack( object sender, Talk.ClientBase<IService>.ClientEventArgs e ) { Dispatcher.BeginInvoke( () => lblDisplay.Text = e.Object.ToString() ); } Now everything works fine, but I wasn't expecting my callback to be running on a different thread. Will I always have to use the Dispatcher class in order to modify anything within my class or is this just limited to UI elements? I've not familiar with the Dispatcher class at all so I'm looking to understand it more.

  • PHP page load seems to be requesting itself and misinterpreting the result

    I'm working on a messy PHP page by another developer and I was analyzing the resource view in the Webkit developer tools and noticed that the page (index.php) makes an HTTP requests for itself and then interprets the results as an image despite it being sent with the text/html header. Because of this it throws the warning: Resource interpreted as image but transferred with MIME type text/html. Looking at the time graph the call comes after the <head> because it has already requested images for the body. Sometimes there are even two 'bad' requests. Can anyone explain what might be happening and/or suggest how to fix this? Could these be related to PHP includes?

  • MonoRail - Select parent category from one dropdown, show child category dropdown

    Hey, I'm new to MonoRail and am trying to figure out how to have it so that I can select a parent category in a dropdown then have it show a second dropdown with the categories that are children of the parent. If I were using what I'm used to, ASP.NET MVC, I would have a javascript function that would be called onchange of the first dropdown and would make an ajax call to a controller method (passing in the selected parent category id) that would grab all child categories of that parent category and return them in JSON. Then in the callback javascript function I would eval the JSON and populate the second dropdown with the child categories. How would I do this using MonoRail/jQuery? This sends down message text that I use for client side validation e.g. <script type="text/javascript"> //<![CDATA[ var c_errorMessages = { RequiredField : "* Mandatory field" }; //]]> </script> The values are generated on the server side based on culture and resource files. I believe you cannot use RegisterClientScriptBlock with MVC. Any ideas on how I can achieve this with MVC?

I have done this <input id='datepicker' type='text' value='20/03/2010' /> But my problem is on clicking the field date picker populates with today's date as highlighed and no date selected, and up on selecting date value But when i change my input field like one below <input id='datepicker' type='text' value='03/20/2010' /> Date picker is populating March 20 as selected date and current date highlighted. But all in 'mm-dd-yyyy' format! I want show all dates in 'dd-mm-yyyy' format. How can I solve this?

    I am using the Mibble MIB Parser to extract all simple data types from an MIB file. I've been successful until my attempt to extract comment text. Take the following module as an example: invBookList OBJECT-TYPE SYNTAX INTEGER { mobydick(1), -- call me ishmael paradiselost(2), -- aComment 1984(3), -- aComment solaris(4) -- aComment } MAX-ACCESS read-only STATUS current DESCRIPTION "A few Books for an example." ::= { invMasterList 43 } According to Mibble's API, the OBJECT-TYPE can be accessed by extracting an SnmpObjectType and then calling the appropriate getter method. Which I have done, and can successfully extract all of the text except the comments in the INTEGER syntax. I have tried calling getSyntax().getComment() on the SnmpObjectType, but always returns null. getSyntax() will extract the INTEGER syntax, e.g.: mobydick(1),paradiselist(2),1984(3),solaris(4) but unfortunately strips out the comments. Any one out there have experience with Mibble Parser who knows how to extract the comments? Many Thanks.

  • Microsft Jet oledb connection to excel loses formulae

    I have a dataset and I write it's values to an excel file using Microsoft Jet 4.0 Oledb provider. I want to put hyperlinks into the excel, for this I write "=HYPERLINK("http://www.abc.org/x.pdf")" in DS and then write it to excel. But when the excel is opened it prefixes a ' (quote/apostrophe) before the formula and there it comes as a text, not link. Can you help me removing that quote so that my excel file has hyperlinks instead of that as text? I need to use Microsoft Jet 4.0 provider (not excel component) as the client machine may or may not have MS-Excel installed on his machine.
