  • Exception when deploying a JSR 286 portlet into WebLogic+WebCenter 11g

    - by Rambaldi
I get the following exception when deploying a JSR 286 portlet into Oracle WebLogic Server 11g (to deploy it later in Oracle WebCenter 11g): <19-ene-2010 13H32' CET> <Error> <oracle.portlet.server.containerimpl.PortletApplicationImpl> <BEA-000000> <Error al procesar el archivo "/WEB-INF/portlet.xml" en la lÝnea 6 columna 68. org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element 'portlet-app' The error message is in spanish. It means: "Error processing the file "/WEB-INF/portlet.xml at line 6 column 68" The portlet.xml of my portlet seems to be correct and I've deployed it in other portal servers. So I don't understand the error message. This is the portlet.xml of my portlet (eclipse XML validator said it was a valid XML) <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <portlet-app version="2.0" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/portlet/portlet-app_2_0.xsd" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/portlet/portlet-app_2_0.xsd http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/portlet/portlet-app_2_0.xsd" xmlns:dnd="http://www.denodo.com/widget/portlet/portletjsr286"> <portlet> <description>Test Inter Portlet Communication (JSR286)</description> <portlet-name>Test IPC</portlet-name> <display-name>Test IPC</display-name> <portlet-class>com.denodo.ipc.TestIPCPortlet</portlet-class> <supports> <mime-type>text/html</mime-type> <portlet-mode>VIEW</portlet-mode> </supports> <supported-locale>en</supported-locale> <resource-bundle>PortletMessages</resource-bundle> <portlet-info> <title>Test IPC</title> <short-title>Test IPC</short-title> <keywords>Test IPC,Denodo</keywords> </portlet-info> </portlet> </portlet-app> How do I deploy my portlet I convert my portlet into to a WSRP portlet by executing java -jar wsrp-predeploy.jar source EAR target EAR as explained in http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/webcenter.1111/e12405/wcadm_portlet_prod.htm#CHDECJHI) I try to deploy it into WebLogic with the WebLogic Console and I get this exception. My Environment WebCenter Suite (11.1.1.2.0) + WebLogic Server (10.3.2) downloaded from the oracle.com. Default configuration S.O: Windows XP SP3 Thanks in advance for your time.

  • How do I use WMI with Delphi without drastically increasing the application's file size?

    - by Mick
I am using Delphi 2010, and when I created a console application that prints "Hello World", it takes 111 kb. If I want to query WMI with Delphi, I add WBEMScripting_TLB, ActiveX, and Variants units to my project. If I perform a simple WMI query, my executable size jumps to 810 kb. I Is there anyway to query WMI without such a large addition to the size of the file? Forgive my ignorance, but why do I not have this issue with C++? Here is my code: program WMITest; {$APPTYPE CONSOLE} uses SysUtils, WBEMScripting_TLB, ActiveX, Variants; function GetWMIstring(wmiHost, root, wmiClass, wmiProperty: string): string; var Services: ISWbemServices; SObject: ISWbemObject; ObjSet: ISWbemObjectSet; SProp: ISWbemProperty; Enum: IEnumVariant; Value: Cardinal; TempObj: OLEVariant; loc: TSWbemLocator; SN: string; i: integer; begin Result := ''; i := 0; try loc := TSWbemLocator.Create(nil); Services := Loc.ConnectServer(wmiHost, root {'root\cimv2'}, '', '', '', '', 0, nil); ObjSet := Services.ExecQuery('SELECT * FROM ' + wmiClass, 'WQL', wbemFlagReturnImmediately and wbemFlagForwardOnly, nil); Enum := (ObjSet._NewEnum) as IEnumVariant; if not VarIsNull(Enum) then try while Enum.Next(1, TempObj, Value) = S_OK do begin try SObject := IUnknown(TempObj) as ISWBemObject; except SObject := nil; end; TempObj := Unassigned; if SObject <> nil then begin SProp := SObject.Properties_.Item(wmiProperty, 0); SN := SProp.Get_Value; if not VarIsNull(SN) then begin if varisarray(SN) then begin for i := vararraylowbound(SN, 1) to vararrayhighbound(SN, 1) do result := vartostr(SN[i]); end else Result := SN; Break; end; end; end; SProp := nil; except Result := ''; end else Result := ''; Enum := nil; Services := nil; ObjSet := nil; except on E: Exception do Result := e.message; end; end; begin try WriteLn('hello world'); WriteLn(GetWMIstring('.', 'root\CIMV2', 'Win32_OperatingSystem', 'Caption')); WriteLn('done'); except on E: Exception do Writeln(E.ClassName, ': ', E.Message); end; end.

  • XmlReader throws on an RSS feed, when the RSS document includes an embedded <script> block.

Other people have reported similar errors with other XML documents. The way I worked around this was to do a StreamReader.ReadToEnd, then do Regex.Replace on the result of that to yank out the script block, before passing the modified string to XmlReader.Create(). Feels like a hack. Has anyone got a better approach? I don't like this because I have to read in a 125k string into memory. Is it valid rss to include "complex content" like that - a script block inside an element? Thanks.

  • How to inherit from DataAnnotations.ValidationAttribute (it appears SecureCritical under Visual Stud

    - by codetuner
Hi, I have an [AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers] class library containing subtypes of the System.DataAnnotations.ValidationAttribute. The library is used on contract types of WCF services. In .NET 2/3.5, this worked fine. Since .NET 4.0 however, running a client of the service in the Visual Studio debugger results in the exception "Inheritance security rules violated by type: '(my subtype of ValidationAttribute)'. Derived types must either match the security accessibility of the base type or be less accessible." (System.TypeLoadException) The error appears to occure only when all of the following conditions are met: a subclass of ValidationAttribute is in an AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers assembly reflection is used to check for the attribute the Visual Studio hosting process is enabled (checkbox on Project properties, Debug tab) So basically, in Visual Studio.NET 2010: create a new Console project, add a reference to "System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations" 4.0.0.0, write the following code: . using System; [assembly: System.Security.AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers()] namespace TestingVaidationAttributeSecurity { public class MyValidationAttribute : System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations.ValidationAttribute { } [MyValidation] public class FooBar { } class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { Console.WriteLine("ValidationAttribute IsCritical: {0}", typeof(System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations.ValidationAttribute).IsSecurityCritical); FooBar fb = new FooBar(); fb.GetType().GetCustomAttributes(true); Console.WriteLine("Press enter to end."); Console.ReadLine(); } } } Press F5 and you get the exception ! Press Ctrl-F5 (start without debugging), and it all works fine without exception... The strange thing is that the ValidationAttribute will or will not be securitycritical depending on the way you run the program (F5 or Ctrl+F5). As illustrated by the Console.WriteLine in the above code. But then again, this appear to happen with other attributes (and types?) too. Now the questions... Why do I have this behaviour when inheriting from ValidationAttribute, but not when inheriting from System.Attribute ? (Using Reflector I don't find special settings on the ValidationAttribute class or it's assembly) And what can I do to solve this ? How can I keep MyValidationAttribute inheriting from ValidationAttribute in an AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers assembly without marking it SecurityCritical, still using the new .NET 4 level 2 security model and still have it work using the VS.NET debug host (or other hosts) ?? Thanks a lot! Rudi

  • Integrating MarkitUp and MarkdownSharp with asp.net forms website

    - by N00b
Hi, I'm using markdownsharp with my asp.net forms website. I want to use MarkItUp as my editor and have found a straight forward article on how to integrate with MVC which seems straight forward enough: http://rsolberg.com/2010/09/asp-net-mvc-markitup-rich-text-editor/ However, how do I do this with a forms website? How do I get the MarkItDown Textarea on a postback and get the preview to work as well?

  • iPhone UIWebView: loadData does not work with certain types (Excel, MSWord, PPT, RTF)

    - by Thomas Tempelmann
My task is to display the supported document types on an iPhone with OS 3.x, such as .pdf, .rtf, .doc, .ppt, .png, .tiff etc. Now, I have stored these files only encrypted on disk. For security reasons, I want to avoid storing them unencrypted on disk. Hence, I prefer to use loadData:MIMEType:textEncodingName:baseURL: instead of loadRequest: to display the document because loadData allows me to pass the content in a NSData object, i.e. I can decrypt the file in memory and have no need to store it on disk, as it would be required when using loadRequest. The problem is that loadData does not appear to work with all file types: Testing shows that all picture types seem to work fine, as well as PDFs, while the more complex types don't. I get a errors such as: NSURLErrorDomain Code=100 NSURLErrorDomain Code=102 WebView appears to need a truly working URL for accessing the documents as a file, despite me offering all content via the NSData object already. Here's the code I use to display the content: [webView loadData:data MIMEType:type textEncodingName:@"utf-8" baseURL:nil]; The mime-type is properly set, e.g. to "application/msword" for .doc files. Does anyone know how I could get loadData to work with all types that loadRequest supports? Or, alternatively, is there some way I can tell which types do work for sure (i.e. officially sanctioned by Apple) with loadData? Then I can work twofold, creating a temp unencrypted file only for those cases that loadData won't like. Update Looks like I'm not the first one running into this. See here: http://osdir.com/ml/iPhoneSDKDevelopment/2010-03/msg00216.html So, I guess, that's the status quo, and nothing I can do about it. Someone suggested a work-around which might work, though: http://osdir.com/ml/iPhoneSDKDevelopment/2010-03/msg00219.html Basically, the idea is to provide a tiny http server that serves the file (from memory in my case), and then use loadRequest. This is probably a bit more memory-intensive, though, as both the server and the webview will probably both hold the entire contents in memory as two copies then, as opposed to using loadData, where both would rather share the same data object. (Mind you, I'll have to hold the decrypted data in memory, that's the whole point here).

  • Is this a good way to do a game loop for an iPhone game?

    - by Danny Tuppeny
Hi all, I'm new to iPhone dev, but trying to build a 2D game. I was following a book, but the game loop it created basically said: function gameLoop update() render() sleep(1/30th second) gameLoop The reasoning was that this would run at 30fps. However, this seemed a little mental, because if my frame took 1/30th second, then it would run at 15fps (since it'll spend as much time sleeping as updating). So, I did some digging and found the CADisplayLink class which would sync calls to my gameLoop function to the refresh rate (or a fraction of it). I can't find many samples of it, so I'm posting here for a code review :-) It seems to work as expected, and it includes passing the elapsed (frame) time into the Update method so my logic can be framerate-independant (however I can't actually find in the docs what CADisplayLink would do if my frame took more than its allowed time to run - I'm hoping it just does its best to catch up, and doesn't crash!). // // GameAppDelegate.m // // Created by Danny Tuppeny on 10/03/2010. // Copyright Danny Tuppeny 2010. All rights reserved. // #import "GameAppDelegate.h" #import "GameViewController.h" #import "GameStates/gsSplash.h" @implementation GameAppDelegate @synthesize window; @synthesize viewController; - (void) applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application { // Create an instance of the first GameState (Splash Screen) [self doStateChange:[gsSplash class]]; // Set up the game loop displayLink = [CADisplayLink displayLinkWithTarget:self selector:@selector(gameLoop)]; [displayLink setFrameInterval:2]; [displayLink addToRunLoop:[NSRunLoop currentRunLoop] forMode:NSDefaultRunLoopMode]; } - (void) gameLoop { // Calculate how long has passed since the previous frame CFTimeInterval currentFrameTime = [displayLink timestamp]; CFTimeInterval elapsed = 0; // For the first frame, we want to pass 0 (since we haven't elapsed any time), so only // calculate this in the case where we're not the first frame if (lastFrameTime != 0) { elapsed = currentFrameTime - lastFrameTime; } // Keep track of this frames time (so we can calculate this next time) lastFrameTime = currentFrameTime; NSLog([NSString stringWithFormat:@"%f", elapsed]); // Call update, passing the elapsed time in [((GameState*)viewController.view) Update:elapsed]; } - (void) doStateChange:(Class)state { // Remove the previous GameState if (viewController.view != nil) { [viewController.view removeFromSuperview]; [viewController.view release]; } // Create the new GameState viewController.view = [[state alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, IPHONE_WIDTH, IPHONE_HEIGHT) andManager:self]; // Now set as visible [window addSubview:viewController.view]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; } - (void) dealloc { [viewController release]; [window release]; [super dealloc]; } @end Any feedback would be appreciated :-) PS. Bonus points if you can tell me why all the books use "viewController.view" but for everything else seem to use "[object name]" format. Why not [viewController view]?

  • Any one like me who still believes in AspNet Web forms? Or has evryone switched to MVC

    - by The_AlienCoder
After years mastering Aspnet webforms I recently decided to try out ASpnet MVC. Naturally my first action was to google 'Aspnet webforms vs Aspnet MVC'. I hoped to get an honest comparison of the two development techniques and guidelines on when to use which one. ..But I was completely turned off by the MVC proponents. In almost every post on the net comparing the two 'platforms' the MVC camp is simply bashing webform developers like me. They go on and on about how wrong and stupid using webforms is. As if what we have been doing the past decade has been pointless - all those websites built(& still running), all those clever controls, the mighty gridview..ALL POINTLESS ! Karl Seguin especially with his stupid webforms rant really turned me off. If his intention was to convert people like me he did the oposite and made me defensive. If anything I am now convinced that the webforms approach is better. consider the following All the critical shortcomings of aspnet webforms have now been Addressed in visual studio 2010 with Aspnet 4.0.- Cleaner html, cleaner control IDs, friendly urls, leaner viewstate etc Why would any one want to implement the mighty gridview and other wonderful controls from scratch ? In MVC you have to do this yourself because ABSTRACTION IS PLAIN STUPID- Instead of writing loops why not just code using 1s and 0s then? A stateless web is a WEAKNESS so why would anyone want to get rid of viewstate? Everyone would like a better implementation but getting rid of it is a step backwards not forward. Unit testing is great but not a critical requirement for most web projects. I thought inline codes were dead with asp. But now they are back and fashionable - Thanks to MVC. I dont know about you people but codebehind was REVOLUTIONARY. Ive had the Ajax Update panel do so many wonderful things without writing a line of code so why demonise it? Ive succesfully implemented a chat client, IM client and Status bar using nothing but the update panel and script manager.Ofcourse you cant use it for everything but most of the time its appropriate. And finally the last word from JQUERY - 'Write less do more !' - That's what webforms is all about ! So Am I the only who still believes in webforms(and it getting better as Aspnet 4.0 has shown) or will it be dead and gone a few years from now like asp? I mean if inline coding is 'the future' why not just switch to PHP !

  • Need help implementing simple socket server using GIOService (GLib, Glib-GIO)

    - by Mark Renouf
I'm learning the basics of writing a simple, efficient socket server using GLib. I'm experimenting with GSocketService. So far I can only seem to accept connections but then they are immediately closed. From the docs I can't figure out what step I am missing. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this for me. When running the following: # telnet localhost 4000 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to localhost. Escape character is '^]'. Connection closed by foreign host. # telnet localhost 4000 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to localhost. Escape character is '^]'. I set up the server fine and can run rails applications that don't need mysql but when I create a project using (for example) rails -d mysql blog and then create some simple controller e.g. ruby script/generate Test then put this code in the controller... class TestController < ApplicationController def index render :text => 'WORK' end end then when I start the server up and open up localhost:3000/test I get the following error: = Booting Mongrel = Rails 2.3.5 application starting on http://0.0.0.0:3000 = Call with -d to detach = Ctrl-C to shutdown server /!\ FAILSAFE /!\ Mon May 10 20:15:06 -0500 2010 Status: 500 Internal Server Error Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061) C:/Ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/connection_adapter s/mysql_adapter.rb:589:in 'real_connect' C:/Ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/connection_adapter s/mysql_adapter.rb:589:in 'connect' C:/Ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/connection_adapter s/mysql_adapter.rb:203:in 'initialize' C:/Ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/connection_adapter s/mysql_adapter.rb:75:in 'new' C:/Ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/connection_adapter s/mysql_adapter.rb:75:in 'mysql_connection' C:/Ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/connection_adapter s/abstract/connection_pool.rb:223:in 'send' C:/Ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/connection_adapter s/abstract/connection_pool.rb:223:in 'new_connection' C:/Ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/connection_adapter s/abstract/connection_pool.rb:245:in 'checkout_new_connection' C:/Ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/connection_adapter s/abstract/connection_pool.rb:188:in 'checkout' C:/Ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/connection_adapter s/abstract/connection_pool.rb:184:in 'loop' C:/Ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/connection_adapter s/abstract/connection_pool.rb:184:in 'checkout' C:/Ruby/lib/ruby/1.8/monitor.rb:242:in 'synchronize' C:/Ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/connection_adapter s/abstract/connection_pool.rb:183:in 'checkout' C:/Ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/connection_adapter s/abstract/connection_pool.rb:98:in 'connection' C:/Ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/connection_adapter s/abstract/connection_pool.rb:326:in 'retrieve_connection' C:/Ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/connection_adapter s/abstract/connection_specification.rb:123:in 'retrieve_connection' C:/Ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-2.3.5/lib/active_record/connection_adapter s/abstract/connection_specification.rb:115:in 'connection' etc... • SQLServer:Namespaces preventing access to query data

    - by Brian
Hi A beginners question, hopefully easily answered. I've got an xml file I want to load into SQLServer 2008 and extract the useful informaiton. I'm starting simple and just trying to extract the name (\gpx\name). The code I have is: DECLARE @x xml; SELECT @x = xCol.BulkColumn FROM OPENROWSET (BULK 'C:\Data\EM.gpx', SINGLE_BLOB) AS xCol; -- confirm the xml data is in @x select @x as XML_Data -- try and get the name of the gpx section SELECT c.value('name[1]', 'varchar(200)') as Name from @x.nodes('gpx') x(c) Below is a heavily shortened version of the xml file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <gpx xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" version="1.0" creator="Groundspeak Pocket Query" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0 http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0/gpx.xsd http://www.groundspeak.com/cache/1/0 http://www.groundspeak.com/cache/1/0/cache.xsd" xmlns="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0"> <name>EM</name> <desc>Geocache file generated by Groundspeak</desc> <author>Groundspeak</author> <email>[email protected]</email> <time>2010-03-24T14:01:36.4931342Z</time> <keywords>cache, geocache, groundspeak</keywords> <wpt lat="51.2586" lon="-2.213067"> <time>2008-03-30T07:00:00Z</time> <name>GC1APHM</name> <desc>Sandman's Noble Hoard by Sandman1973, Unknown Cache (2/3)</desc> <groundspeak:cache id="832000" available="True" archived="False" xmlns:groundspeak="http://www.groundspeak.com/cache/1/0"> <groundspeak:name>Sandman's Noble Hoard</groundspeak:name> <groundspeak:placed_by>Sandman1973</groundspeak:placed_by> </groundspeak:cache> </wpt> </gpx> If the first two lines are replaced with just: <gpx> the above example works correctly, however I then can't access groundspeak:name (/gpx/wpt/groundspeak:cache/groundspeak:name), so my guess its a problem with the namespace. Any help would be appriciated.

  • Trouble with deploying Sonatype Nexus to Tomcat6 on Gentoo (log4j)

    - by John
Hi there. I'm running a tomcat-6 server on Gentoo. I'm having trouble deploying Nexus to my tomcat server (nexus-war from the sonatype website, and tomcat6 via emerge). The localhost log displays the following when Nexus is started: May 31, 2010 6:50:52 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext listenerStart SEVERE: Exception sending context initialized event to listener instance of class org.sonatype.nexus.web.LogConfigListener java.lang.IllegalStateException: Could not create default log4j.properties into /dev/null/sonatype-work/nexus/conf/log4j.properties at org.sonatype.nexus.web.LogConfigListener.ensureLogConfigLocation(LogConfigListener.java:130) at org.sonatype.nexus.web.LogConfigListener.contextInitialized(LogConfigListener.java:53) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext.listenerStart(Unknown Source) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext.start(Unknown Source) at org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.addChildInternal(Unknown Source) at org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.addChild(Unknown Source) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHost.addChild(Unknown Source) at org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig.deployWAR(Unknown Source) at org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig.deployWARs(Unknown Source) at org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig.deployApps(Unknown Source) at org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig.start(Unknown Source) at org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig.lifecycleEvent(Unknown Source) at org.apache.catalina.util.LifecycleSupport.fireLifecycleEvent(Unknown Source) at org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.start(Unknown Source) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHost.start(Unknown Source) at org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.start(Unknown Source) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardEngine.start(Unknown Source) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardService.start(Unknown Source) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardServer.start(Unknown Source) at org.apache.catalina.startup.Catalina.start(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at org.apache.catalina.startup.Bootstrap.start(Unknown Source) at org.apache.catalina.startup.Bootstrap.main(Unknown Source) Caused by: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /dev/null/sonatype-work/nexus/conf/log4j.properties (Not a directory) at java.io.FileOutputStream.open(Native Method) at java.io.FileOutputStream.(FileOutputStream.java:179) at java.io.FileOutputStream.(FileOutputStream.java:131) at org.codehaus.plexus.util.FileUtils.copyStreamToFile(FileUtils.java:1058) at org.codehaus.plexus.util.FileUtils.copyURLToFile(FileUtils.java:1018) at org.sonatype.nexus.web.LogConfigListener.ensureLogConfigLocation(LogConfigListener.java:126) ... 25 more For some reason it looks for the sonatype-work folder in /dev/null. • error C2784: Could not deduce template argument

    - by atch
    Hi guys, Still fighting with templates. In this example, despite the fact that is copied straight from a book I'm getting the following error message: Error 2 error C2784: 'IsClassT<T>::One IsClassT<T>::test(int C::* )' : could not deduce template argument for 'int C::* ' from 'int'. This is an example from a book Templates - The Complete Guide. (I work with Visual Studio 2010 RC). template<typename T> class IsClassT { private: typedef char One; typedef struct { char a[2]; } Two; template<typename C> static One test(int C::*); template<typename C> static Two test(…); public: enum { Yes = sizeof(IsClassT<T>::test<T>(0)) == 1 }; enum { No = !Yes }; }; class MyClass { }; struct MyStruct { }; union MyUnion { }; void myfunc() { } enum E {e1} e; // check by passing type as template argument template <typename T> void check() { if (IsClassT<T>::Yes) { std::cout << " IsClassT " << std::endl; } else { std::cout << " !IsClassT " << std::endl; } } // check by passing type as function call argument template <typename T> void checkT (T) { check<T>(); } int main() { /*std::cout << "int: "; check<int>(); */ std::cout << "MyClass: "; check<MyClass>(); } And although I know roughly what's going on in this example I cannot fix this error. Thanks for help.

  • Does mixing Quartz and OpenGL-ES cause big performance degrade??

    - by Eonil
I have a plan to make a game using OpenGL for 3D world view, and CALayer(or UIView) for HUD UI. It's easy to imagine performance degrade from mixing them, but the document which mention this impact disappeared: http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/technotes/tn2008/tn2230.html I cannot find the document on current version of SDK reference. And I got this document: http://gamesfromwithin.com/gdc-2010-the-best-of-both-worlds-using-uikit-with-opengl If you experienced about this, please let me know about performance impact on current SDK.

  • how can I run the apple Storekit in the simulator?

    - by software evolved
Normally, this can't be done. I have written a class which wraps around the usual Storekit functionality and will allow an app to behave (while running on the simulator) as if the Storekit transaction had succeeded. I have written a blog post about the design decisions behind the code, which can be read here and includes a download link: http://code-evolution.blogspot.com/2010/05/evolved-code-example-1-simplestore-for.html Or you can just grab the sample project from this location: simplestoreevolved.googlecode.com/files/SimpleStoreEvolved.zip Enjoy T.

  • How can I take the first 100 characters of html content ( without stripping the TAGS! )

    - by Atomiton
There are lots of questions on how to strip html tags, but not many on functions/methods to close them. Here's the situation. I have a 500 character Message summary ( which includes html tags ), but I only want the first 100 characters. Problem is if I truncate the message, it could be in the middle of an html tag... which messes up stuff. Assuming the html is something like this: <div class="bd">"Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. <br/> <br/>Some Dates: April 30 - May 2, 2010 <br/> <p>Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. <em>Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit</em> in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident, sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id est laborum. <br/> </p> For more information about Lorem Ipsum doemdloe, visit: <br/> <a href="http://www.somesite.com" title="Some Conference">Some text link</a><br/> </div> How would I take the first ~100 characters or so? ( Although, ideally that would be the first approximately 100 characters of "CONTENT" ( in between the html tags ) I'm assuming the best way to do this would be a recursive algorithm that keeps track of the html tags and appends any tags that would be truncated, but that may not be the best approach. My first thoughts are using recursion to count nested tags, and when we reach 100 characters, look for the next "<" and then use recursion to write the closing html tags needed from there. The reason for doing this is to make a short summary of existing articles without requiring the user to go back and provide summaries for all the articles. I want to keep the html formatting, if possible. NOTE: Please ignore that the html isn't totally semantic. This is what I have to deal with from my WYSIWYG. EDIT: I added a potential solution ( that seems to work ) I figure others will run into this problem as well. I'm not sure it's the best... and it's probably not totally robust ( in fact, I know it isn't ), but I'd appreciate any feedback

  • sql - datetime variable versus string representation of datetime variable

    - by BhejaFry
Hi folks, I have a query that takes too long to respond when the search parameter happens to be a varchar datatype with date. However, if i convert varchar to datetime variable, the query runs fine. For ex: This takes too long. select count(id) from names where updateddate '1/5/2010' This runs fine. declare @dateparam datetime set @dateparam = convert(datetime, '1/5/2010',102) select count(id) from names where updateddate @dateparam What's the reason one runs fine but the other doesn't? TIA

  • Minimum permission required to access Site Columns page and edit site columns

    - by ParanoidMike
We've started to adopt SharePoint 2010, and are starting to manually migrate content from SharePoint 2007 sites to new sites we're rebuilding from scratch in SP2010. One of the things we previously had supported was to delegate responsibility for managing some of our site columns to a member of the team. The team member is not familiar with SharePoint internals, and doesn't want the responsibility of full permissions to the site and all its objects. We're now trying to figure out what the minimum permission is that we need to grant our team member, so they can continue to edit (& propagate) the content of the site columns we've defined. Permissions he currently has (which are obviously insufficient): Site permissions (according to _layouts/user.aspx): Read, Contribute, Manage Lists Permissions for specific objects in the site (according to _layouts/people.aspxMembershipGroupId=xxx, then choosing Settings, View Group Permissions): server/sites/[sitename]: Contribute server/sites/[sitename]/Lists/[a list with columns that inherit from site columns]: "Contribute No Delete" Note: the "Contribute No Delete" permission is a custom permission I designed by copying the SharePoint-native "Contribute" permission set and deselecting the Delete permission. The "Manage Lists" permission is a custom permission I designed that includes the following specific permissions: (List Permissions) Manage Lists, View Items; (Site Permissions) View Pages, Open. Operations that are throwing access denied errors: _layouts/mngfield.aspx: SharePoint returns the "Error: Access Denied" dialog, and provides three clickable options: "Sign in as a different user", "Request access", and "Go back to site" _layouts/fldedit.aspx?field=Level%5Fx0020%5F3 [one of the site columns we've defined]: can load the page and type in changes to the textboxes "...but when I press OK (save changes) I get the same message above." When our team member clicks the "Request access" link, the email I receive sends me to a page that recommends that I grant the user membership in the "[sitename] Users" group - of which he's already a member. So while SP2010 tries to request access, it doesn't actually direct me to either (a) a valid group that has the correct permissions or (b) the specific object to which I need to grant our team member access. Also note: on the SP2007 (MOSS) site (where our team member was successful in managing Site Column edits), they had dozens of additional permissions throughout the site that we do not wish to blindly re-allocate in SP2010 until we know they're necessary. Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

  • SSH login with expect(1). How to exit expect and remain in SSH?

    - by Koroviev
So I wanted to automate my SSH logins. The host I'm with doesn't allow key authentication on this server, so I had to be more inventive. I don't know much about shell scripting, but some research showed me the command 'expect' and some scripts using it for exactly this purpose. I set up a script and ran it, it worked perfectly to login. #!/usr/bin/env expect -f set password "my_password" match_max 1000 spawn ssh -p 2222 "my_username"@11.22.11.22 expect "*?assword:*" send -- "$password\r" send -- "\r" expect eof Initially, it runs as it should. Last login: Wed May 12 21:07:52 on ttys002 esther:~ user$ expect expect-test.exp spawn ssh -p 2222 [email protected] [email protected]'s password: Last login: Wed May 12 15:44:43 2010 from 20.10.20.10 -jailshell-3.2$ But that's where the success ends. Commands do not work, but hitting enter just makes a new line. Arrow keys and other non-alphanumeric keys produce symbols like '^[[C', '^[[A', '^[OQ' etc.[1] No other prompt appears except the two initially created by the expect script. Any ignored commands will be executed by my local shell once expect times out. An example: -jailshell-3.2$ whoami ls pwd hostname (...time passes, expect times out...) esther:~ user$ whoami user esther:~ ciaran$ ls Books Documents Movies Public Code Downloads Music Sites Desktop Library Pictures expect-test.exp esther:~ ciaran$ pwd /Users/ciaran esther:~ ciaran$ hostname esther.local As I said, I have no shell scripting experience, but I think it's being caused because I'm still "inside of" expect, but not "inside of" SSH. Is there any way to terminate expect once I've logged in, and have it hand over the SSH session to me? I've tried commands like 'close' and 'exit', after " send -- "\r" ". Yeah, they do what I want and expect dies, but it vindictively takes the SSH session down with it, leaving me back where I started. What I really need is for expect to do its job and terminate, leaving the SSH session back in my hands as if I did it manually. All help is appreciated, thanks. [1] I know there's a name for this, but I don't know what it is. And this is one of those frightening things which can't be googled, because the punctuation characters are ignored. As a side question, what's the story here?
