• How do I configure Mediawiki on EC2 if anonymous browsing is disabled?

  So I have new MediaWiki instance install on a brand new Amazon EC2 instances. All is going swimmingly, until I have to log in via the web browser to configure it. Since I'm running on a hosted server, I can't hit http://localhost/mediawiki/config/index.php like the instructions say to. If I try to hit it via http://<My IP address>/mediawiki/config/index.php, my browser just tries to download the file because anonymous browsing isn't enabled. I seem to be before LocalSettings.php is created, so I don't know how to move forward from here.

• Private downloads [on hold]

  I am setting up a personal website and I would like to be able to share certain files with friends (e.g. photo albums or documents). Of course, each of the files should only be accessible to certain people, for example with a password or a private address. I would like to have a simple system, easy to maintain. I'm quite sure that Wordpress would let me know do something but keeping a Wordpress installation just for sharing a few files per month seems too much work. I am thinking of using the Apache capabilities for folder or file password protecting. Is this the best idea? Or would it be better just to block the directory navigation so that only people with the full path for each of the files can download them? Thanks!

  I'm writing blog at Wordpress, and bought Domain park for it for a shorter web address for my readers who I redirect to my blog. Yesterday there was a first time message titled "Account Suspended due to registration information verification failure". I've never changed my contact information at my Web Host, and my contact Information has not been changed. I have Fan page on Facebook too, that my readers' could follow my blog easier, and there was same kind of message on my Facebook site too. Can you tell me, what's going on? I've not been broking any terms of use at my host, and writing good language on my blog. I think it's a some kind of hacker -thing? Is there nothing else to do than contact my web host that they can fix the problem? Can they? I Contacted last night my host, but got no answer yet.

  Hi I am getting ready to create my first web aplication.I have some knowledge of databases but I have never used databases with relationship created beetween them and also I am not sure how to acces the data in the relationship.My experience is limited to basic CRUD applications and working on simple tables with no realtionship using PHP and MySql. For example I will be creating a login system and for each user I would like to create a profile page that store different data(name , address , profile image etc.).Some of the info will be the same in both tables so there is no point in creating the same table twice. What I would like is if anyone can tell of some tutorials so I can better understand the concept?

• FCKEditor doesn't set Value property on postback!

  I'm using FCKEditor on my asp.net web page. It appears beautifully, and the editor looks really good on the front end. Only problem is, the .Value property is not being set on the postback. No matter what changes the user makes to the value of the control on the page, when I click "Submit", the .Value property remains blank. I have Googled for other solutions, and most of them are of the variety where there's some conflict with Ajax, such as this and this. My problem is not solved by these solutions; it's much more fundamental than that. I'm not doing anything to do with Ajax; I'm just a simple asp.net newbie with a simple web form, and the value property is not being set on postback, not in IE and not in FF. It appears that at least one other person has had this problem, but no solution yet. Any ideas? Thanks! New information: I tried this out on a "hello world" test web site - and the test web site works 100%. There is obviously a problem on my page, but I have no idea where to begin tracking this down. • PCI scan failure for SSL Certificate with Wrong Hostname?

  A client had a PCI scan completed by SecurityMetrics, and it now says they failed due to the SSL certificate for the SMTP port 25 (and POP3s/IMAPS) not matching the domain scanned. Specifically: Description: SSL Certificate with Wrong Hostname Synoposis: The SSL certificate for this service is for a different host. Impact: The commonName (CN) of the SSL certificate presented on this service is for a different machine. The mail server uses sendmail (patched) and provides email service for a number of domains. The server itself has a valid SSL certificate, but it does not match each domain (as we add/remove domains all the time as clients move around). Seems SecurityMerics is the only ASV that marks this as failing PCI. Trustwave, McAfee, etc... do not see this as failing PCI. Is this issue truly a PCI failure? Or is it just SecuritMetrics being wrong?

• How to suppress an unwanted external Autodiscover lookup?

  In a small network with Exchange 2007, when starting Outlook 2010 (and once in a while afterwards), users get a prompt to confirm that it's safe to get account configuration information from cpanelemaildiscovery.cpanel.net/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml (I could read in a couple of forums that there is a bug in cpanel, but that's beside the point.) I'm puzzled because I can't find any autodiscover DNS entries anywhere, neither internally nor externally. The only hint is that we use an external hosting company for our website and for one single email address, which runs on cpanel. So I guess that Outlook makes an external DNS query to test all entries? It reates a lot of confusion for the users and frankly I'm not too happy that the external hosting company gets contacted by all our users. How can I suppress this behavior? Thanks

• Zantaz's EAS exchange archive product doesn't integrate with Outlook in Windows 7

  I work at a place that uses Exchange with Outlook for mail, and they also use a product from Zantaz called "EAS" which does server-side archiving of old messages. One of the artifacts of this archival is that email attachments are missing from the archived messages when viewed in Outlook. EAS has a client tool that plugs into Outlook that enables easy retrieval of those archived messages and their attachments, but it doesn't seem to work when installed on Windows 7. I have no direct evidence of this, other than that it simply doesn't work on my Windows 7 machine, and some of our network support staff seem to corroborate this. The symptom is that Outlook seems to know nothing of the existence of this EAS app. The EAS app also has a system tray icon which is there and offers some minimal functionality, but the real goodness is the Outlook integration, which I sorely miss. So, my question is this: does anyone here know whether it's possible to coerce this EAS product into working correctly in Windows 7?

• How do you force Outlook 2007 to re-index it's seach on Windows XP SP 3?

  So I have a Windows XP SP 3 machine which is running Outlook 2007. When I search in Outlook for an email that exists using a basic keyword, like say "MySQL", I get no results. However, Outlook gives me the following message: Search results may be incomplete because items are still being indexed. Click here for more details. When I click, I get the following: Outlook is currently indexing your items. Search results may be incomplete because items are still being indexed. 8783 items remaining in "Mailbox - USER" 8812 items remaining across all open mailboxes. The thing is, these are the numbers it has been reporting for several days, and Outlook is open for 8 hours a day. It does not seem like the index is working. As best I can tell, the index seemed to stop about 3 weeks ago. How can I force Outlook 2007 to re-index everything and start working properly again?

  I built an asp.net application that sends text messages to our employees using carrier-provided email to SMS gateways. The people on Cricket (sms.mycricket.com) are the only ones that are bouncing with a return message like this: Unknown address error SPF FAILURE/Sender has no SPF records: SEE RFC 4408 - FROM check failed: Received: from unknown (HELO servername.domainname.com) ([ipaddress]) by .... with ESMTP/TLS/DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA; 14 Nov 2012 06:22:56 -0600 From my research it looks like we may need to setup something in DNS for the Sender Policy Framework.   I have my sendmail.cf file configured to send local mail and to receive external mail to local users. So sending mail from the server to the external world works fine, but the other way around does not... I get an error e-mail saying: Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently: [email protected] Technical details of permanent failure: Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 5.7.1 root@75.xxx.xxx.xxx... Relaying denied (state 14). Also I can't find logs in /var/log, all I see is this binary file in /var/log/mail/statistics Thanks!

• when using exchange 2010 it complains of not talking to Information Store service on exchange 2007

  I am attempting to do an upgrade in my org from exchange 2007 to exchange 2010. I moved all the mailboxes and made sure my certificates were setup in exchange 2010. I then changed my ip forwarding rules to forward mail to my exchange 2010 box. I can receive email. I then powered off my exchange 2007 server. However now when I open my exchange 2010 console it is complaing of not being able to talk to the Information Store service on my exchange 2007 server. What is up? do I have to tell exchange somewhere "who" is the new exchange server? I'm confused. I hate it when software does it automatically. I want to force it to do something.

  There seems to be a lack of good information around this particular Google Apps error code. Has anyone found common environmental information that causes this error? Any kind of solution? Uninstalling/re-installing Google Sync doesn't seem to do anything, I've run Outlook's executable that scans/fixes the PST file etc. Task 'Google Apps - ::user email address:: - Sending' reported error (0x8004010B) : 'Unknown Error 0x8004010B' I found a listing of error codes for the Gdata API but nothing for these types of 'unknown' error codes.   So I'm trying to setup PostFix while using SASL (Cyrus variety preferred, I was using dovecot earlier but I'm switching from dovecot to courier so I want to use cyrus instead of dovecot) but I seem to be having issues.   I just upgraded Ubuntu from 11.10 to 12.04. My rails app now returns the (passenger) error "Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (111) (Mysql2::Error)". I get a similar error when I try to access mysql at the command line on my Ubuntu server using mysql -u root -p. I have mysql-server 5.5 installed. I've checked and mysql is not running. When I try to restart it, it fails. Dean Richardson Update: Thanks to quanta's suggestion, I looked at the /var/log/mysql/error.log file. I found error messages relating to pointers, fatal signals, and more stuff that I really couldn't make much sense of. I also found mysql man page references, however. One suggested that I try starting mysqld with the --innodb_force_recovery=# option, then attempt to dump (or drop) the offending/corrupted database or table. I worked through the escalating option levels one-by-one (innodb_force_recovery=1, innodb_force_recovery=2, etc.) This allowed me to successfully run mysql -u root -p from the command line and execute several commands. I was able to run queries on my production database, but any attempt to query, dump, or even drop my development database raised an error and led to me losing the connection to mysql. So I've made progress, but until I'm somehow able to drop or repair my development db I'm still unable to get my app to load. Any further advice or suggestions? Thanks! • Postfix, limit destination concurrency

  Hi, Website sending email using phpmailer - Centos, postfix, php, mysql etc Emails are getting delivered to all hosts correctly except one. Mar 30 14:38:22 server postfix/qmgr[15467]: 7237D218852D: to=, relay=none, delay=0.04, delays=0.04/0.01/0/0, dsn=4.4.2, status=deferred (delivery temporarily suspended: lost connection with mail06.indamail.hu[91.83.45.46] while sending MAIL FROM) They told me to limit concurrent connections to 2 to their server. I did, but they still say I connect more than twice. main.cf: default_destination_concurrency_limit = 1 fallback_relay = smtp_destination_concurrency_limit = 1 initial_destination_concurrency = 1 Any ideas? • awstats parse of postfix mail log drops all records

  I'm trying to get awstats to parse the postfix mail log, but it drops allmost all entries with messages like: Corrupted record (date 20091204042837 lower than 20091211065829-20000): 2009-12-04 04:28:37 root root localhost 127.0.0.1 SMTP - 1 17480 Few more are dropped with an invalid LogFormat: Corrupted record line 24 (record format does not match LogFormat parameter): 2009-11-16 04: 28:22 root root localhost 127.0.0.1 SMTP - 14755 My conf LogFormat="%time2 %email %email_r %host %host_r %method %url %code %bytesd" I believe matches the log format (and besides is the log format I've seen everywhere for awstats mail parsing). Besides, is the same entry format as all the other entries in the mail log. Whatever is left is dropped too: Dropped record (host localhost and 127.0.0.1 not qualified by SkipHosts): 2009-12-07 04:28:36 root root localhost 127.0.0.1 SMTP - 1 17152 I added SkipHosts="" to the .conf file but to no avail. I feel like awstats really has some personal quarrel with me today.

• Conversation based grouping in Outlook similar to gmail?

  I'm stuck using my employer's Outlook 2007 system for work email and don't have the option to forward to my gmail account. The only thing I really miss alot from gmail is the threaded conversations which allow me to easily see what I have sent as replies and follow the entire string of emails easily. I have seen suggestions of using adding the conversation column in outlook, but if you sort by conversation then the most recent emails are not at the top, and additionally you still do not see emails you have sent because they are in the seperate sent folder. Any ideas on how I can get more thread like organization of my emails in outlook?

• Outlook close to tray

  Ok, I'm stuck using outlook in the office (but they let me use 2010 betas which are awsome, btw) and one thing I'll allways rant about outlook in any version is that when I press the X button it goes away. I mean, I know the X button is supposed to close the app, it's the standard and all that, but email is (sadly) very critical, as well as meeting requests and reminders, outlook should not be closed so freaking easily. I mean, Live Messenger is not so critical but it has this feature built in and on by default. Is there a way to close outlook to the tray, addons, vba, settings, reghack, anything? I know there is minimize to tray and I've been searching the web but could not find anything usefull.

• Troubleshooting mailserver (Postfix, Dovecot) on Ubuntu Server 9.10?

  Hi, I have configured a mail server with Postfix and Dovecot on Ubuntu Server 9.10. I followed the guidelines here (using Maildir): https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Postfix https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Dovecot The tests seemed alright so I connected it to GMail which is able to connect and fetch e-mails. But since there's no e-mail in the Maildir/ directory I can't decide if the problem is Postfix or Dovecot. And I am totally new to mailservers so I don't know where to start troubleshooting. So, I want to start by testing Dovecot. How can I create a fake "Hello World"-email directly on the server (using a text editor) so that I can try to fetch it with GMail? If Dovecot is alright, where do I start looking for errors in Postfix? Thank you for your time. Christoffer

• Lotus Notes 8.5.3 "Unable To Invoke Program"

  Just got a little issue with some of my users today, when trying to open an email attachment in Lotus Notes, they get the error Unable To Invoke Program. Now, they can always just save the attachment and then open it through windows explorer, which is fine, but I would rather get a proper solution for this. Knowing almost nothing about Lotus Notes does not help me I know but I think it may have something to do with the default file association, however my colleague tells me that Notes uses the windows file associations, which are working. Any ideas anyone?
