  i got three tables CATS id name ------------------------------ 1 category1 2 category2 3 category3 4 category4 PRODUCT id name ------------------------------ 1 product1 2 product2 ZW-CAT-PRODUCT id_cats id_product ------------------------------ 1 1 3 1 4 2 now i want to get my products and their categories product1 => category1,category3 product2 => category4 is there a way to get this array (or object or something) with one mysql query? i tried a bit with JOINS, but it seems thats this is not exactly what i need, or? currently i'm using 3 querys (i think thats too much). any suggestions?

• NSDirectoryEnumerator And Subfolders

  I have an iPhone app that searches a folder, collates an an array of all the audio files, and lets them be played back. The problem is that if there is a subfolder within the folder I am searching, it will just skip over it/not go into its contents. • C++ memory management of reference types

  Hello, I'm still a fairly novice programmer and I have a question about c++ memory management with refence types. First of all, my understanding of reference types: A pointer is put on the stack and the actual data that the pointer points to is created and placed on the heap. Standard arrays and user defined classes are refence types. Is this correct? Second, my main question is do c and c++'s memory management mechanisms (malloc, free and new, delete) always handle this properly and free the memory that a class or array is pointing to? Does everything still work if those pointers get reassigned somehow to other objects of the same size/type on the heap? What if a class has a pointer member that points to another object? I am assuming that delete/freeing the class object doesn't free what it's member pointer points to, is that correct? Thanks all! -R

• decode mysql query before returning it to view

  I'm running a query to mysql that returns encrypted data. I'd like, if possible, to decode the results before sending it to the view. It seems like better form to handle the decoding in the controller (or even the model) rather than inside the view. I can't seem to wrap my head around how to do it, though. I was thinking I could iterate through the object, decodode it, and push it to another array that would be sent to the view. Problem with this is I won't know (and need to keep) the indexes of the query. So the query might return something like: [id] => 742 [client_id] => 000105 [last] => dNXcw6mQPaGQ4rXfgIGJMq1pZ1dYAim0 [first] => dDF7VoO37qdtYoYKfp1ena5mjBXXU0K3dDlcq1ssSvCgpOx75y0A== [middle] =>iXy6OWa48kCamViDZFv++K6okIkalC0am3OMPcBwK8sA== [phone] => eRY3zBhAw2H8tKE Any ideas?

'; return $this->db->query($sql,array($barcode)); The 'appearances' table throws a 'not unique table' error if I try this using the Active Record class. I need to join appearances on both the zone and installations tables. How can I do this?

I couldn’t figure out how to bind to a table at all. I have built the inline sql that would do this for me but it would destroy my shared pool (not using binds). So a General question how do I bind to complex/composite types using Nhibernate?

I am tokenizing the string by spaces: return [string componentsSeparatedByString:@" "]; So my array contains: Hello I like your shoes #today...! I want to focus on "#today...!" any word that has a # in the prefix I am changing the font color. How can I make sure that only "#today" has its font color changed? I would basically like to figure out if a word has a punctuation mark at the end, and change the color for characters before the punctuation mark.

  I'm trying to be good, I really am, but I can't see how to do it :) Any advice on how to not use a global here would be greatly appreciated. Let's call the global G. Function A Builds G by AJAX Function B Uses G Function C Calls B Called by numerous event handlers attached to DOM elements (type 1) Function D Calls B Called by numerous event handlers attached to DOM elements (type 2) I can't see how I can get around using a global here. The DOM elements (types 1 & 2) are created in other functions (E&F) which are unconnected with A. I don't want to add G to each event handler (because it's large and there's lots of these event handlers), and doing so would require the same kind of solution as I'm seeking here (i.e., getting G to E&F). The global G, BTW, is an array that is necessary to build other elements as they, in turn, are built by AJAX. I'm not convinced that a singleton is real solution, either. Thanks.

  Im developing my own framework that uses namespaces. Doctrine is already integrated into my auto loading system and im now at the stage where ill be creating the model system for my application Usually i would create a simple model like so: namespace Application\Models; class Users extends \Framework\Models\Database{} which would inherit all the default database model methods, But with Doctrine im still learning how it all works, as its not just a simple DBAL. I need to understand whats the part of doctrine my classes would extend where i can do the following: namespace Application\Models; class Users Extends Doctrine\Something\Table { public $__table_name = "users"; } And thus within the controller i would be able to do the following: public function Display($uid) { $User = $this->Model->Users->findOne(array("id" => (int)$id)); } Anyone help me get my head around this ?

• iPhone SDK: How to store the time each word was typed?

  My problem is twofold: 1) I'm trying to determine an eloquent way to allow the user to type into a UITextView and store the time each word was typed into an array. The time will be a float which starts at 0 when the user begins to type. 2) Conversely, I'd like the user to be able to tap on a word in the UITextView and display the time that word was typed (displaying in an NSLog() is fine). Considerations that may throw a wrench into a possible approach -- what if the user goes back to the top of the text and starts typing or to the middle of the text? Even a suggested approach without code would be appreciated, because right now I'm drawing a blank.

I need a way of converting all of these different types of strings into the actual character. I have an entire NSArray to convert. Or I can convert it when it is being displayed, which ever is easiest.   Hi! all, I was trying to write a udp server who send an instance of a file to multiple clients.Now suppose any how I manage to know the address of those client statically(for the sake of simplicity) and now I want to send this packet to these addresses.So how exactly I need to fill the sockaddr structure to contain the address of these clients.I am taking an array of sockaddr structure(to contain client address) and trying to send at each one them at a time.Now problem is to fill the individual sockaddr structure to contain the client address. I was trying to do something like that sa[1].sin_family = AF_INET; sa[1].sin_addr.s_addr = htonl(INADDR_ANY);//should'nt I replace this INADDR_ANY with client ip?? sa[1].sin_port = htons(50002); Correct me if this is not the correct way. And I don't know how to structure the data source so that the code is easy to maintain. I tried to put the list of News Items into a 2 dimension Array in this case is a NSMutableArray of NSArray objects. However I got some objc_exception_throw and I don't think this is flexible enough. Could you guys give me some ideas?

  While working on an existing Drupal site I've noticed a strange glitch that causes any PHP operator with in it to act like a ? tag. This is happening in in Drupal pages that I create that have a 'Input Format' of 'PHP code'. If I have this number $number = 600851475143; Then I modulus it: $primes = array( 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47, 53, 59, 61, 67, 71, 73, 79, 83, 89, 97); foreach($primes as $key=>$value) { if($number % $value == 0 ) {echo $value; break; } } Why is it that $value = 3? If $value = 3, that means that 600851475143 / 3 should be an integer, but its not. So I do not understand why that if() evaluates to true?

  I am looking for the easiest, simplest way to access web APIs that return either JSON or XML, with concurrent requests. For example, I would like to call the twitter search API and return 5 pages of results at the same time (5 requests). The results should ideally be integrated and returned in one array of hashes. I have about 15 APIs that I will be using, and already have code to access them individually (using simple a NET HTTP request) and parse them, but I need to make these requests concurrent in the easiest way possible. Additionally, any error handling for JSON/XML parsing is a bonus.

  Hi, I'm loading a few huge images on my flex/as3 app, but I can't manage to catch the error when the flash player runs out of memory. • Nested for loop error with !null checking an element that doesn't exist

  I am currently using nested for loops in a 2D array of size 4,2. When I run my program, I get index out of bounds Exception on the following line else if (state[i][j+1] != null && state[i][j].getFlash() <= state[i][j].getCycleLength() && state[i][j+1].getCycleLength() == state[i][j].getCycleLength()){ } It says the index out of bounds is 2. I would understand the error if I wasn't checking to see if [i][j+1] wasn't null, but I don't understand the exception with the check? I tried moving around the !null check but the program still fails on this line. Any help would be greatly appreciated. • how to insert page view of a node in another page in drupal

  I have a list of node ids and I want to display the 'page' view of each one. For various reasons, I don't want to do this with views, and don't think I should need a module. Just an API call to theme('node'). Something like: $nids = array(3,4,5); foreach ($nids as $nid) { $node = node_load($nid); $result .= theme('node', $node); } but I'm not getting back the full page view of the node. I added this to my node-[type].tpl.php file: if ($page) print "PAGE MODE "; else print "NOT PAGE "; if ($teaser) print "TEASER MODE "; else print "NOT TEASER "; and got: NOT PAGE NOT TEASER I seem to be in some kind of limbo. I suspect there's an argument that I add to the theme function, but the terms are all so general (theme, teaser, page, node), I'm having trouble with my google-fu.

• What is the best way to organize Java code since you can't pass by reference?

  I'm learning how to code in Java after after coming from C. In C I always separated everything into individual functions to make the code easier to follow and edit. I was trying to do this in java but now since I realized that you can't use pointers, I am a bit confused as to what the best way to do this is. So for example I want to have a method that creates four alerts for me. So I pass it an alert builder that can then create the alerts. I can return them in an array, but in my code I already have the alerts individually named, and I would like to keep it that way so I wouldn't need to refer to them as alert[1], alert[2]... etc. So that means I would have to rename them, which would add additional code which would probably be longer than the code in the actual method! Am I thinking about this the right way? Is there anything I can do?
