• Changing values of (multiple) dropdown lists from one dropdown list in MVC

  I have an MVC page, with some controls inside a form. The part I need help with: I have a bunch of dropdowns in a list. All dynamically named (drop{0}, where {0} is the id (really, its just a counter: 1,2,3,etc)). At the top of the list, I want to have another dropdown that will update ALL the dropdowns when it is changed. I've done similar things with checkboxes (check one and all are checked, etc) so I assume this can be done, hopefully just as simple. I'd prefer it to be on the client side, so once the form is submitted, the new values will be added/updated to the database. Edit: The values of ALL the dropdowns are static. They are all a list of 1-50, representing the number of cards I need to produce for a given record. This is how I did the checkbox: $("#chkSelectAll").click(function() { $(".checkbox").attr('checked', this.checked); }); Any thoughts on where to begin? Thanks!

• IE7 div boxes with clear: right and float: left - float to top

  Hey, lately i've been slamming my head against my desk to solve this Problem. Didn't work out. I know it can be solved by editing the contents with some clearing elements. Sadly there is some javascript sorting beeing used and the Sourcode is being generated by CMS Components so that would be my last shot. I'm having a few boxes beeing floated alwayes 2 in a row. The boxes have a diffrent height but equal width and are all placed in a container with static width. The link shows the source i need to reproduce the Problem. My Boxes are beeing floated left. I tried to fix this with clear: left on odd and clear: right on even elements. But that only works in ff/ie8/chrome Browsers, not ie7. Example: http://www.i3rutus.de/ie7divfloatexample/ Anyone knows a possibility to fix this Problem by just editing the CSS not the actual XHTML? Problem appears in IE7. IE8, Chrome and FF work fine. • Ruby on Rails export to csv - maintain mysql select statement order

  Exporting some data from mysql to a csv file using FasterCSV. I'd like the columns in the outputted CSV to be in the same order as the select statement in my query. Example: rows = Data.find( :all, :select=>'name, age, height, weight' ) headers = rows[0].attributes.keys FasterCSV.generate do |csv| csv << headers rows.each do |r| csv << r.attributes.values end end CSV Output: height,weight,name,age 74,212,bob,23 70,201,fred,24 . . . I want the CSV columns in the same order as my select statement. Obviously the attributes method is not going to work. Any ideas on the best way to ensure that the columns in my csv file will be in the same order as the select statement? Got a lot of data and performance is an issue. The select statement is not static. I realize I could loop through column names within the rows.each loop but it seems kinda dirty.

• Issue allowing custom Xml Serialization/Deserialization on certain types of field

  I've been working with Xml Serialization/Deserialization in .net and wanted a method where the serialization/deserialization process would only be applied to certain parts of an Xml fragment. This is so I can keep certain parts of the fragment in Xml after the deserialization process. To do this I thought it would be best to create a new class (XmlLiteral) that implemented IXmlSerializable and then wrote specific code for handling the IXmlSerializable.ReadXml and IXmlSerializable.WriteXml methods. In my example below this works for Serializing, however during the Deserialization process it fails to run for multiple uses of my XmlLiteral class. In my example below sTest1 gets populated correctly, but sTest2 and sTest3 are empty. I'm guessing I must be going wrong with the following lines but can't figure out why.. Any ideas at all? • How to set binding in xaml to my own variable

LoginState = new UserLogin(); And I need to set bindings to Button.IsEnabled property. I.e. when user not login yet - some buttons are disabled. How can this been done? I have try in xaml: <Button DataContext="LoginState" IsEnabled="{Binding Path=IsUserLogin}"> but, this dos't work and OutputWindow says: System.Windows.Data Error: 39 : BindingExpression path error: 'IsUserLogin' property not found on 'object'. I also have try to set Button.DataContext property to LoginState in the code, but have XamlParseException. • Modular Reduction of Polynomials in NTRUEncrypt

  Hello everyone. I'm implementing the NTRUEncrypt algorithm, according to an NTRU tutorial, a polynomial f has an inverse g such that f*g=1 mod x, basically the polynomial multiplied by its inverse reduced modulo x gives 1. I get the concept but in an example they provide, a polynomial f = -1 + X + X^2 - X4 + X6 + X9 - X10 which we will represent as the array [-1,1,1,0,-1,0,1,0,0,1,-1] has an inverse g of [1,2,0,2,2,1,0,2,1,2,0], so that when we multiply them and reduce the result modulo 3 we get 1, however when I use the NTRU algorithm for multiplying and reducing them I get -2.   My device /dev/my_inc is meant to take a positive integer N represented as an ascii string, and store it. Any read from /dev/my_inc will produce the ascii string representation of N + 1. • entity framework POCO template in a n-tiers design question

  HI all I was trying to follow the POCO Template walkthrough . And now I am having problems using it in n-tiers design. By following the article, I put my edmx model, and the template generated context.tt in my DAL project, and moved the generated model.tt entity classes to my Business Logic layer (BLL) project. By doing this, I could use those entities inside my BLL without referencing the DAL, I guess that is the idea of PI; without knowing anything about the data source. Now, I want to extend the entities (inside the model.tt) to perform some CUD action in the BLL project,so I added a new partial class same name as the one generated from template, public partial class Company { public static IEnumerable AllCompanies() { using(var context = new Entities()){ var q = from p in context.Companies select p; return q.ToList(); } } } however visual studio won't let me do that, and I think it was because the context.tt is in the DAL project, and the BLL project could not add a reference to the DAL project as DAL has already reference to the BLL. So I tried to added this class to the DAL and it compiled, but intelisense won't show up the BLL.Company.AllCompanies() in my web service method from my webservice project which has reference to my BLL project. What should I do now? I want to add CUD methods to the template generated entities in my BLL project, and call them in my web services from another project. I have been looking for this answer a few days already, and I really need some guides from here please. Bryan

• JSF: How to get the selected item from selectOneMenu if its rendering is dynamic?

  At my view I have two menus that I want to make dependent, namely, if first menu holds values "render second menu" and "don't render second menu", I want second menu to be rendered only if user selects "render second menu" option in the first menu. After second menu renders at the same page as the first one, user has to select current item from it, fill another fields and submit the form to store values in database. Both the lists of options are static, they are obtained from the database once and stay the same. My problem is I always get null as a value of the selected item from second menu. How to get a proper value? When I change value in first menu and update isRendered with valueChangeListener, the second menu displays but it doesn't initialize currentItem while submitting. The app gets an XML doc from the a web site, parses it into an array, and then displays it in a table view, i have the parser in a separate file. The ViewDidLoad in RootViewController sends it a url, the parser goes to work and then returns an NSMutableArray. When i run the app it works fine with small XML files (5 entries or so, and 1-3 sections), but when i use a larger one(20+ rows, over 12 sections) i get the error "-[CFString length]: message sent to deallocated instance 0x3881940" when i scroll near the bottom of the tableview, just as the last section title is about to come onto the viewable area on the screen to be precise. if i return a static string instead of the object in my array in this method it doesn't crash, but i can use NSLog to call the array and it returns the title no problems. - (NSString *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView titleForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)indexPath { return [[returnedEvents objectAtIndex:indexPath ] objectAtIndex:0]; } The returnedEvents array isn't released until -(void) dealloc {} I have read a few other posts on here, and a few guides on debugging and as of yet am unable to find anything that was able to help me, i'd be more than happy to post some code up here and any more information, i'm just not sure where to start... When using the "right" name, the dropdown does post correctly, I just can't seem to set the selected value. I don't think this matters but I am running MVC 1 on mono 2.6

I try to solve the problem by changing the zip file creation code to String[] filenames = new String[]{"MyDirectory" + "/" + "MyFile.txt"}; But, is this an eligible solution, by hard-coded the seperator? Will it work under Mac OS? (I do not have a Mac to try out)
