• Images from url to listview

  I have a listview which I show video results from YouTube. Everything works fine but one thing I noticed is that the way it works seems to be a bit slow and it might be due to my code. Are there any suggestions on how I can make this better? Maybe loading the images directly from the url instead of using a webclient? I am adding the listview items in a loop from video feeds returned from a query using the YouTube API. It works but what I'm concerned about is speed..any suggestions? maybe a different control all together?

Please note that I AM getting the freeSpace value at the line: freeSpace = Convert.ToInt64(m["FreeSpace"]); So I know the query IS working for freeSpace. Can anyone give me a hand?

• File mkdirs() method not working in android/java

  I've been pulling out my hair on this for a while now. (And if there is another file already in that spot, it should just not do anything). However, for some reason, the mkdirs() method never makes the directory. I've tried everything from explicit parentheses, to explicitly making the parent file class, and nothing seems to work. I'm fairly certain that the drive is writable, as it's only called after that has already been determined, also that is true after running through it while debugging. So the method fails because the parent directories aren't made. Can anyone tell me if there is anything wrong with the way I'm calling it?   My goal is to be able to unit test some custom HtmlHelper extensions - which use RenderPartial internally. http://ox.no/posts/mocking-htmlhelper-in-asp-net-mvc-2-and-3-using-moq I've tried using the method above to mock the HtmlHelper.   Below is my Generic Binary Search it works ok with the intgers type array it finds all the elements in it . But the Problem Arises when i use a string array to find any string data. It runs ok for the first index and last index elements but i cant find the middle elements. • Boost program will not working on Linux

  Hi SOF, I have this program which uses Boost::Asio for sockets. I pretty much altered some code from the Boost examples. The program compiles and runs just like it should on Windows in VS. However, when I compile the program on Linux and run it, I get a Segmentation fault. I posted the code here The command I use to compile it is this: c++ -I/appl/htopopt/Linux_x86_64/NTL-5.4.2/include -I/appl/htopopt/Linux_x86_64/boost_1_43_0/include mpqs.cpp mpqs_polynomial.cpp mpqs_host.cpp -o mpqs_host -L/appl/htopopt/Linux_x86_64/NTL-5.4.2/lib -lntl -L/appl/htopopt/Linux_x86_64/gmp-4.2.1/lib -lgmp -lm -L/appl/htopopt/Linux_x86_64/boost_1_43_0/lib -lboost_system -lboost_thread -static -lpthread By commenting out code, I have found out that I get the Segmentation fault due to the following line: boost::asio::io_service io_service; Can anyone provide any assistance, as to what may be the problem (and the solution)? • Can JMX operations take interfaces as parameters?

  I'm having problems with an MBean that takes a Map<String, Object> as a parameter. If I try to execute it via JMX using a proxy object, I get an Exception: Caused by: javax.management.ReflectionException at org.jboss.mx.server.AbstractMBeanInvoker.invoke(AbstractMBeanInvoker.java:231) at org.jboss.mx.server.MBeanServerImpl.invoke(MBeanServerImpl.java:668) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Unable to find operation updateProperties(java.util.HashMap) It appears that it attempts to use the actual implementation class rather than the interface, and doesn't check if this is a child of the required interface. The same thing happens for extended classes (for example declare HashMap, pass in LinkedHashMap). Does this mean it's impossible to use an interface for such methods? At the moment I'm getting around it by changing the method signature to accept a HashMap, but it seems odd that I wouldn't be able to use interfaces (or extended classes) in my MBeans. Edit: The proxy object is being created by an in-house utility class called JmxInvocationHandler. • Spring Dependency Injecting an annotated Aspect

  Using Spring I've had some issues with doing a dependency injection on an annotated Aspect class. CacheService is injected upon the Spring context's startup, but when the weaving takes place, it says that the cacheService is null. So I am forced to relook up the spring context manually and get the bean from there. Is there another way of going about it? • WPF Single Selection Across Multiple ItemsControls

  Part of my app has a month-view calendar interface, but I'm having trouble with item selection. The interface is set up so that each of the days in the view contains a ListBox of items, much like the month view in Outlook. The problem I'm experiencing is that I need to maintain a single item selection across all of the ListBoxes. Below is a sample window that should adequately describe my situation. I need to maintain a single selection between both ListBoxes. <Window x:Class="StackOverflow.MainWindow" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="MainWindow" Height="350" Width="525"> <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition /> <ColumnDefinition /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ListBox ItemsSource="{Binding Numbers}" SelectedItem="{Binding SelectedObject"/> <ListBox Grid.Column="1" ItemsSource="{Binding Dates}" SelectedItem="{Binding SelectedObject"/> </Grid> </Window> In this primitive example, I would expect that when the SelectedObject property of my view model gets set to an item that's not in one ListBox, the selection would be removed in that ListBox, but that doesn't happen. I understand that I can simply name each ListBox, and hook into the SelectionChanged event. I'd prefer to not have to do that with an entire month-view calendar. There has to be a better way. In a previous iteration of the app, I was able to create a SelectionManager static class with an attached property that was used to maintain selection. However, I can't use this now as the classes I'm using for my items are not DependencyObjects, and I'd really prefer not to have to create DependencyObject wrapper classes as this will considerably complicate my architecture. • There is a Default instance of form in VB.Net but not in C#, WHY?

  I'm just curious to know that there is The (Name) property, which represents the name of the Form class.This property is used within the namespace to uniquely identify the class that the Form is an instance of and, in the case of Visual Basic, is used to access the default instance of the form. Now where this Default Instance come from, why can't C# have a equivalent method to this. Also for example to show a form in C# we do something like this: //Only method Form1 frm = new Form1(); frm.Show(); But in VB.Net we have both ways to do it: //'First common method (used slash because editor wouldn't format it properly) Form1.Show(); //'Second method Dim frm as New Form1(); frm.Show(); My question comes from this first method. What is this Form1, is it an instance of Form1 or the Form1 class itself. Now as i mentioned above the Form name is the Default instance in VB.Net. But we also know that Form1 is a class defined in Designer so how can the names be same for both the Instance and class name. If Form1 is Class then there is no (Static\Shared) method named Show(). So where does this method come from. And finally why C# can't have an equivalent of this. If there some mistake in my question Please let me know *I've checked this on stackoverflow, but couldn't find an answer to this.If you do find then please give a link to it.*

I was thinking about drawing triangle with simple lines transforming them with AffineTransform but I'm not sure if it's doable and it doesn't solve drawing squares.

(like which COM is the phone on [it's attached through USB], what about baudrate and databits?) when i run the program nothing really happens, i would like to send AT COMMANDS to my phone and the textbox is there to receive the response from my phone this is my first time using threads. am i using them correctly? what is the purpose of it in the current example? is it to just have a delay between send a response? what am i doing wrong?

  I'm using the Windows API to get audio input. I've followed all the steps on MSDN and managed to record audio to a WAV file. No problem. I'm using multiple buffers and all that. I'd like to do more with the buffers than simply write to a file, so now I've got a callback set up. It works great and I'm getting the data, but I'm not sure what to do with it once I have it. But FMOD dishes everything out as floats. In this case, I'm going the other way. I guess I'm basically just looking for resources on how to go from LPSTR to short, float, and unsigned char. Is it possible in C# 4.0 rewrite GetValueAs is such a way that the method will still be applicable to different types of string-keyed dictionaries AND there will be no need to specify second type parameter in the calling code, i.e. use var list = dictionary.GetValueAs<List<int("A"); or at least something like var list = dictionary.GetValueAs<List<int, ?("A"); instead of var list = dictionary.GetValueAs<List<int, object("A");

• Two "Calendar" entries listed on iPad - can't write to calendar using EventKit

  My iOS app integrates with the device's calendar. On my iPad when I view the calendar app and tap the Calendars button on the top left to choose which calendars to show I see one entry named "Calendar". In my app when I loop through available calendars per the code below "Calendar" is listed twice. One is CalDAV for the type, the other is Local. I'm unable to create calendar entries in one of them, I believe the "Local" one, not sure why. • How can I avoid encoding mixups of strings in a C/C++ API?

  I'm working on implementing different APIs in C and C++ and wondered what techniques are available for avoiding that clients get the encoding wrong when receiving strings from the framework or passing them back. For instance, imagine a simple plugin API in C++ which customers can implement to influence translations. It might feature a function like this: const char *getTranslatedWord( const char *englishWord ); Now, let's say that I'd like to enforce that all strings are passed as UTF-8. Of course I'd document this requirement, but I'd like the compiler to enforce the right encoding, maybe by using dedicated types. For instance, something like this: class Word { public: static Word fromUtf8( const char *data ) { return Word( data ); } const char *toUtf8() { return m_data; } private: Word( const char *data ) : m_data( data ) { } const char *m_data; }; I could now use this specialized type in the API: Word getTranslatedWord( const Word &englishWord ); Unfortunately, it's easy to make this very inefficient. The Word class lacks proper copy constructors, assignment operators etc.. and I'd like to avoid unnecessary copying of data as much as possible. Also, I see the danger that Word gets extended with more and more utility functions (like length or fromLatin1 or substr etc.) and I'd rather not write Yet Another String Class. I just want a little container which avoids accidental encoding mixups. I wonder whether anybody else has some experience with this and can share some useful techniques. EDIT: In my particular case, the API is used on Windows and Linux using MSVC 6 - MSVC 10 on Windows and gcc 3 & 4 on Linux.
