  • Create method to handle multiple types of controls

    - by Praesagus
    I am trying to create a method that accepts multiple types of controls - in this case Labels and Panels. The conversion does not work because IConvertible doesn't convert these Types. Any help would be so appreciated. Thanks in advance public void LocationsLink<C>(C control) { if (control != null) { WebControl ctl = (WebControl)Convert.ChangeType(control, typeof(WebControl)); Literal txt = new Literal(); HyperLink lnk = new HyperLink(); txt.Text = "If you prefer a map to the nearest facility please "; lnk.Text = "click here"; lnk.NavigateUrl = "/content/Locations.aspx"; ctl.Controls.Add(txt); ctl.Controls.Add(lnk); } }

  • how to write barcode in html format when using tcpdf

    - by JewelThief
I am using TCPDF to generate PDF file using following command $pdf-writeHTML($htmlcontent, true, 0, true, 0); TCPDF also provides a way to create barcode with following commands $pdf-Cell(0, 0, 'C39+', 0, 1); $pdf-write1DBarcode('Code 39', 'C39+', '', '', 80, 15, 0.4, $style, 'N'); $pdf-Ln(); I want to be able to write barcode as part of the HTML code above. Is there easy way? I can potentially call a barcode image inthe writeHTML code above, but not sure how to use above barcode function ( or any in TCPDF) which would allow me to create image and then get that image into HTML generation

  • Jquery Live Function

    - by marharépa
    Hi! I want to make this script to work as LIVE() function. Please help me! $(".img img").each(function() { $(this).cjObjectScaler({ destElem: $(this).parent(), method: "fit" }); }); the cjObjectScaler script (called in the html header) is this: (thanks for Doug Jones) (function ($) { jQuery.fn.imagesLoaded = function (callback) { var elems = this.filter('img'), len = elems.length; elems.bind('load', function () { if (--len <= 0) { callback.call(elems, this); } }).each(function () { // cached images don't fire load sometimes, so we reset src. if (this.complete || this.complete === undefined) { var src = this.src; // webkit hack from http://groups.google.com/group/jquery-dev/browse_thread/thread/eee6ab7b2da50e1f this.src = '#'; this.src = src; } }); }; })(jQuery); /* CJ Object Scaler */ (function ($) { jQuery.fn.cjObjectScaler = function (options) { /* user variables (settings) ***************************************/ var settings = { // must be a jQuery object method: "fill", // the parent object to scale our object into destElem: null, // fit|fill fade: 0 // if positive value, do hide/fadeIn }; /* system variables ***************************************/ var sys = { // function parameters version: '2.1.1', elem: null }; /* scale the image ***************************************/ function scaleObj(obj) { // declare some local variables var destW = jQuery(settings.destElem).width(), destH = jQuery(settings.destElem).height(), ratioX, ratioY, scale, newWidth, newHeight, borderW = parseInt(jQuery(obj).css("borderLeftWidth"), 10) + parseInt(jQuery(obj).css("borderRightWidth"), 10), borderH = parseInt(jQuery(obj).css("borderTopWidth"), 10) + parseInt(jQuery(obj).css("borderBottomWidth"), 10), objW = jQuery(obj).width(), objH = jQuery(obj).height(); // check for valid border values. IE takes in account border size when calculating width/height so just set to 0 borderW = isNaN(borderW) ? 0 : borderW; borderH = isNaN(borderH) ? 0 : borderH; // calculate scale ratios ratioX = destW / jQuery(obj).width(); ratioY = destH / jQuery(obj).height(); // Determine which algorithm to use if (!jQuery(obj).hasClass("cf_image_scaler_fill") && (jQuery(obj).hasClass("cf_image_scaler_fit") || settings.method === "fit")) { scale = ratioX < ratioY ? ratioX : ratioY; } else if (!jQuery(obj).hasClass("cf_image_scaler_fit") && (jQuery(obj).hasClass("cf_image_scaler_fill") || settings.method === "fill")) { scale = ratioX < ratioY ? ratioX : ratioY; } // calculate our new image dimensions newWidth = parseInt(jQuery(obj).width() * scale, 10) - borderW; newHeight = parseInt(jQuery(obj).height() * scale, 10) - borderH; // Set new dimensions & offset jQuery(obj).css({ "width": newWidth + "px", "height": newHeight + "px"//, // "position": "absolute", // "top": (parseInt((destH - newHeight) / 2, 10) - parseInt(borderH / 2, 10)) + "px", // "left": (parseInt((destW - newWidth) / 2, 10) - parseInt(borderW / 2, 10)) + "px" }).attr({ "width": newWidth, "height": newHeight }); // do our fancy fade in, if user supplied a fade amount if (settings.fade > 0) { jQuery(obj).fadeIn(settings.fade); } } /* set up any user passed variables ***************************************/ if (options) { jQuery.extend(settings, options); } /* main ***************************************/ return this.each(function () { sys.elem = this; // if they don't provide a destObject, use parent if (settings.destElem === null) { settings.destElem = jQuery(sys.elem).parent(); } // need to make sure the user set the parent's position. Things go bonker's if not set. // valid values: absolute|relative|fixed if (jQuery(settings.destElem).css("position") === "static") { jQuery(settings.destElem).css({ "position": "relative" }); } // if our object to scale is an image, we need to make sure it's loaded before we continue. if (typeof sys.elem === "object" && typeof settings.destElem === "object" && typeof settings.method === "string") { // if the user supplied a fade amount, hide our image if (settings.fade > 0) { jQuery(sys.elem).hide(); } if (sys.elem.nodeName === "IMG") { // to fix the weird width/height caching issue we set the image dimensions to be auto; jQuery(sys.elem).width("auto"); jQuery(sys.elem).height("auto"); // wait until the image is loaded before scaling jQuery(sys.elem).imagesLoaded(function () { scaleObj(this); }); } else { scaleObj(jQuery(sys.elem)); } } else { console.debug("CJ Object Scaler could not initialize."); return; } }); }; })(jQuery);

  • Should I inherit from a stackpanel instead of a stack panel, grid or other UI element or UserControl

    - by Joel Barsotti
So I'm building a peice of UI that might me in a dialog window or might be in embedded in part of a bigger page. I don't have alot of experience with WPF, but in ASP.NET you always used UserControls, because their wasn't anyt really generic UI inherit to inherit from (and in a way UserControl was just a div). My coworker has written alot of controls that inherit directly from stackpanel. That seems like a decent way of doing things. But when I went to create a control for the code I was going to write I was presented with a dialog that only included the UserControl, which I wasn't that familiar with in the context of WPF. So can someone explain to me the difference from building a control that inherits from user control vs inheriting directly from a stackPanel?

  • Scala Lift - Robust method to protect files from hotlinking

    - by sirjamm
I'm attempting to implement a way to stop hotlinking and/or un-authorised access to resources within my app. The method I'm trying to add is something I've used before in PHP apps. Basically a session is set when the page is first called. The images are added to the page via the image tag with the session value as a parameter: <img src="/files/image/[handle]?session=12345" /> When the image is requested the script checks to see if the session is set and matches the provided value. If the condition is not met the serving page returns null. Right at the end to the code I unset the session so further requests from outside the scope of the page will return null. What would be the best implementation of this method within the lift framework? Thanks in advance for any help, much appreciated :)

  • jQuery Custom Gallery and jCarousel problem

    - by steve
Active site can be seen here: http://www.studioimbrue.com/index2.php There are currently two small problems with the coding. First: when the page loads and you attempt to click on one of the large images to advance, nothing happens. Once a thumbnail is clicked, the click functionality of the large image comes available. I'm trying to fix it so when the page loads, the user can just start clicking the large image. Second: when an image is clicked, the thumbnail highlight changes. The only problem there is once it gets past 4, the "current" thumbnail needs to be seen, thus the carousel should go to that one. Right now the code for that is nextThumb.closest('.thumbscontainer').jcarousel('next'); but that makes it scroll every time you click. Thanks for any help

  • Animating a font size change in a UITableView

    - by nickthedude
    Hey Simple little app for educational purposes, its a simple uitableview and I want users to be able to use a uislider to adjust the font size as needed. The code I have now works to change the font but only when the view is updated, ie when i pull up or down the table view to reveal other cells. I'd like the font change to be reflected immediately as a user moves the uislider if possible, here's the code that I have working half way: -(UITableViewCell *) tableView: (UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *) indexPath { static NSString *SimpleTableIdentifier = @"SimpleTableIdentifier"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier: SimpleTableIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero reuseIdentifier: SimpleTableIdentifier] autorelease]; NSUInteger row = [indexPath row]; cell.text = [listData objectAtIndex:row]; UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"star.png"]; cell.font = [UIFont systemFontOfSize:[fontSlider value]]; cell.image = image; return cell; }

I've run into a major display problem on newly installed fedora 11, on my 6 years old pc which runs a pentium4 2.4 GHz processor, 1 gb ddr ram, intel 845 motherboard with integrated graphics card. When i open an image or play a video, my complete screen turns garbled. I simply cannot make out whats on my screen. With difficulty i have to close the image/video window and move around the folder window to clean the screen image. Is it because of my display drivers? How can i fix it? I also ran into mp3 plugins and flash issues which i was able to resovle. • UIScrollView content to track a CAKeyFrameAnimation along a path

    - by CMLloyd
In my App I have a full-screen UIScrollView where the content is a UIImageView containing a map image which is about 2000px square (i.e. larger than the UIScrollView). Currently, I plot a path across the map and animate a "beacon" image along it using a CAKeyFrameAnimation, which works great. What I would like to be able to do is to make the UIScrollView content move with the animation in such a way as to keep the beacon image in the centre of the screen (giving the user the impression of tracking along the path). Any suggestions on how I might achieve this?

  • Cannot change the Label text!

    - by BDotA
I have created a custom control and added a label property to it so at design time we can pick a Label and assign it to that control. so basically I want that if a label is assigned to that control, its text should change as below and also its text should change to bold font, so here is that code: private Label assignedLabel; public Label AssignedLabel { get { return assignedLabel; } set { assignedLabel = value; assignedLabel.Text = @"*" + assignedLabel.Text; assignedLabel.Font = new Font(AssignedLabel.Font, FontStyle.Bold); AssignedLabel.Refresh(); } } the problem is that based on the code above the Font of that assigned label is correctly changing to Bold font, but its Text is not taking affect. why is that happening? how can I fix this issue?

  • Getting a scriptmanager into a dynamically rendered page

    - by AndreasKnudsen
Hi, We are rendering usercontrols dynamically like this: public string RenderControl(string pathcontrol) { string html; var page = new Page(); var control = page.LoadControl(path); page.Controls.Add(control); // do stuff to the control (give it some data to work on) using (var writer = new StringWriter()) { HttpContext.Current.Server.Execute(page, writer, false); html = writer.ToString(); } return html; } This lets us the same user controls when rendering pages normally as we do when rendering responses to ajax calls. However, when adding controls which themselves contain a scriptmanagerProxy we run into the problem that the newed up Page object doesn't contain either a ScriptManager or the HtmlForm in which the ScriptManager needs to run. Is there any way around this? Yours Andreas

  • Position text in top of a dinamically generated map area of type poly

    - by Guillermo Vasconcelos
Hi, I have a web page with a dynamically generated image map (from a server side charting tool that I have no control over). I have a value for each area in the title attribute that I want to display on top of the image. I could dynamically generate span elements with absolute positioning, but I'm not sure how to calculate the "center" of a poly shaped area to use as coordinates. Is there an easy way to create texts for image map areas? a JQuery plug in perhaps? Do you know a good way to calculate the center of a poly area? Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks, Guillermo

  • asp.net free webcontrol to display crosstab or pivot reports with column and row grouping, subtotals

    - by dev-cu
Hello, I want to develop some crosstab also know as pivot reports in Asp.net with x-axis and y-axis being dynamics, allowing grouping by row and column, for example: have products in y-axis and date in x-axis having in body number of sells of a given product in a given date, if date in x-axis are years, i want subtotals for each month for a product (row) and subtotals of sells of all products in date (column) I know there are products available to build reports, but i am using Mysql, so Reporting Service is not an option. It's not necessary for the client build additional reports, i think the simplest solution is having a control to display such information and not using crystal report (which is not free) or something more complex, i want to know if is there an available free control to reach my goal. Well, does anybody know a control or have a different idea, thanks in advance.

  • Change Titlewindow close button

    - by Cameigons
I'm working with Flex 3.4 SDK. I need to change the default close button image from a TitleWindow. So what I'm doing is defining a CSS selector, like this: TitleWindow{ close-button-skin: Embed('assets/close.png'); border-color: #FFFFFF; corner-radius: 10; closeButtonDisabledSkin: ClassReference(null); closeButtonDownSkin: ClassReference(null); closeButtonOverSkin: ClassReference(null); closeButtonUpSkin: ClassReference(null); } The problem is: the result image is totally squeezed beyond recognition. Probably because the image dimensions are 55x10 pixels (much wider than the default closebutton square-like dimensions) and flex forces it to fit that size. Would anyone know how to go about fixing that?

  • Visual C# | Capturing data from a window in a closed-source third-party Win32 application

    - by Zach Albia
I'm planning on creating a C# Windows Forms app as an extension for a third-party Win32 application but I'm stumped as to how to do this right now. The farthest I've gotten is knowing it involves Win32 Hooking and that there's this open source project called EasyHook that's supposed to allow me to do this. I'd like to know how I can get the text from a textbox or some other data from a control in a third-party Win32 application. The text/data in a control is to be captured from the external application's running window the moment the user presses a button. I guess the question can be summed up as follows: How do you determine the event to hook to when the user clicks a certain button? How do you get the value displayed by a Win32 control at the time the button is clicked?

  • print css: fit in one page

    - by user281521
Hi. In my page there's only one image. Kind of 1500x3000 px. In the printer, I need that this image's maximum width to be the width of the page, so I did: width 100% in the css, and it works. But the height... the old bullshit of height 100% will never work. Because it always will be 100% of the parent container, then someone must have height defined. Or html or body. So, my question is: make this image fit in one page. Any ideas?

  • Silverlight 4 Drag and Drop Alternatives

    - by Eric J.
I want to add the ability to drag a user control from one part of a Silverlight 4 page onto another user control on the same page (not talking about the new Silverlight 4 ability to drag a file from the OS onto the page). What approach is most straightforward? What approach offers the most flexibility? Here are some alternatives I found so far SO drag-and-drop-control-for-silverlight. Same question but answers apply to SL 2. Alex van Beek's DragManager. Written for SL3. Silverlight Drag Drop. Also written for SL3.

  • Call function under object from string

    - by sam
I have a script which creates a drag-and-drop uploader on the page from a div. My DIV will look something like <div class="well uploader" data-type="image" data-callback="product.addimage" data-multi="1"></div> Then I'll have a function something like var product = new function(){ /* Some random stuff */ this.addimage = function(image){ alert('W00T! I HAZ AN IMAGE!'); } /* More random stuff */ } When the upload is complete, I need to call the function in data-callback (In this example, product.addimage). I know with global functions you can just do window[callback]() but I'm not sure the best way to do this with functions under objects. My first thought was to do something like* var obj = window; var parts = callback.split('.'); for(part in parts){ obj = obj[parts[part]]; } obj(); but that seems a bit dirty, is there a better way without using eval because eval is evil? I haven't tested this so I have no idea if it will work

  • How do I add a textbox to my other jQuery click function?

    - by marcamillion
Right now, my script adds a box to the cursor when I click on an image, as can be seen in the following code. Please note, this is jQuery. $(function() { var tag_box = $("<div>").appendTo("body").css({"width":"40px", "height":"40px", "border":"4px solid #000000", "position":"absolute", "display":"none", "padding":"15px"}); $("#image-wrapper").live('click', function(e){ tag_box.css({"left": e.pageX - 40, "top": e.pageY - 40, "display":"block"}); }); I would like to add a text field to appear right below that tag_box on that same click. I tried to do this, but it hasn't worked out like I thought it would: var comment_box = $("<label> Comment: <input type='text' name='comment' autocomplete='off'></label>"); $("#image-wrapper").live('click', function(){ $("body").append(comment_box); }); Any assistance you can give me, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • How can I subsample data from a time series with LINQ to SQL?

    - by Chris Farmer
I have a database table full of time points and experimental values at those time points. I need to retrieve the values for an experiment and create a thumbnail image showing an XY plot of its data. Because the actual data set for each experiment is potentially 100,000 data points and my image is only 100 pixels wide, I want to sample the data before creating the image. My current query (which retrieves all the data without sampling) is something simple like this: var points = from p in db.DataPoints where p.ExperimentId == myExperimentId orderby p.Time select new { X = p.Time, Y = p.Value } So, how can I best take every nth point from my result set in a LINQ to SQL query?

  • Coordinates in distorted grid

    - by Carsten
I have a grid in a 2D system like the one in the before image where all points A,B,C,D,A',B',C',D' are given (meaning I know the respective x- and y-coordinates). I need to calculate the x- and y-coordinates of A(new), B(new), C(new) and D(new) when the grid is distorted (so that A' is moved to A'(new), B' is moved to B'(new), C' is moved to C'(new) and D' is moved to D'(new)). The distortion happens in a way in which the lines of the grid are each divided into sub-lines of equal length (meaning for example that AB is divided into 5 parts of the equal length |AB|/5 and A(new)B(new) is divided into 5 parts of the equal length |A(new)B(new)|/5). The distortion is done with the DistortImage class of the Sandy 3D Flash engine. (My practical task is to distort an image using this class where the handles are not positioned at the corners of the image like in this demo but somewhere within it).

  • Can I set a property on an object that is only declared on the instance type, when I don't know the

    - by WilberBeast
Let me explain. I have a List into which I am adding various ASP.NET controls. I then wish to loop through the list and set a CssClass, however not every Control supports the property CssClass. What I would like to do is test if the underlying instance type supports the CssClass property and set it, but I'm not sure how to do the conversion prior to setting the property since I don't know the type of each Control object. I know that I can use typeof or x.GetType(), but I'm not sure how to use these to convert the controls back to the instance type in order to test for and then set the property. Actually I seem to have solved this, so I thought that I would post the code here for others. foreach (Control c in controlList) { PropertyInfo pi = c.GetType().GetProperty("CssClass"); if (pi != null) pi.SetValue(c, "desired_css_class", null); } I hope that this helps someone else as I has taken me hours to research these 2 lines of code. Cheers Steve

  • What is the best method for implementing mouse wheel activity in Delphi VCL forms?

    - by Brian Frost
As a long time user of Delphi 7, I've rolled my own mouse wheel handling in a few controls but lately I've noticed that some recent applications only need the mouse cursor to be placed over a control (e.g a list box or tree view) for the mouse wheel activity to cause that control to scroll. This feels nice (as opposed to having to click focus a control before it responds to the wheel. Now I've moved to Delphi 2010 I'm wondering what is the 'correct' behavior? And what can I use in Delphi that avoids me having to bodge this with my own solutions now? Thanks.
