• TypeError: Error #1009 Actionscript 3 help.

  I am extremely frustrated. I'm following a tutorial and mimicing it on my own. I've been able to sort out most of the errors so far but this one has me stumped. I have tried replacing all of the class files with the tutorial specimen ones but i still get the error. TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at com.senocular.utils::KeyObject/construct() at com.senocular.utils::KeyObject() at com.asgamer.basics1::Ship() at com.asgamer.basics1::Engine() Now, not really understanding the error properly I paste dumped the files online for you to look at. Ship class: textbin.com/78z35 Engine class: textbin.com/32b24 KeyObject class: textbin.com/p2725 As the error still occured when using the specimen class files I really have no idea where to begin. I will gladly try out any suggestions (although later on, i'm tired now ;). Thanks very much.

• Twitter widget stops page from rendering in IE 8, anybody know why?

  The widget works fine in Firefox but it completely stops the page from being rendered in IE8. • HttpsURLConnection failing intermittently to the same URL

  I think I'm experiencing the same as http://groups.google.com/group/android-developers/msg/9d37d64aad0ee357 This is Android 1.5 SDK. I happen to call several times below code(which is in a method) with the same url and it fails intermittently. When it fails, there is no exception, the stream is empty so the readConnection fails, and getResponseCode returns -1. Global caching is disabled, setDefaultUseCaches(false); I suppose there must be some kind of url connection object pool somewhere. Any idea on how can I workaround this? • Converting code to perl sub, but not sure I'm doing it right

  What is the main difference between these following two ways to give a method some fake implementation? I was using the second way fine in one test but in another test the behaviour can not be achieved unless I go with the first way. These are set up via: IMembershipService service = test.Stub<IMembershipService>(); so (the first), using (test.Record()) //test is MockRepository instance { service.GetUser("dummyName"); LastCall.Return(new LoginUser()); } vs (the second). service.Stub(r => r.GetUser("dummyName")).Return(new LoginUser()); Edit The problem is that the second technique returns null in the test, when I expect it to return a new LoginUser. The first technique behaves as expected by returning a new LoginUser. All other test code used in both cases is identical.

  Am writing unit test for a multi-threading application, where I need to wait until a specific event triggered so that I know the asyn operation is done. E.g. When I call repository.add(something), I wait for event AfterChange before doing any assertion. • Ajax response is taking time to populate.

  I am having an util class which is not owned by me. I am calling one of the method of that util class which inturn calls one ajax function. And gives me response back. I need to make a decision depending on the response object. Also, I know its rather hack-ish, but is the while statement legal C? I would have to go through great contortions to put the assignment elsewhere in the code, so I'd be really nice if I could leave it there, but if it's so egregious that it makes everyone's eyeballs burst into flames, I'll change it.

• Why won't this sql update query work?

  I have a table that has 5,000(table1) lines in it. Currently, 3,000 of them are filled up with data. The remaining values are currently null. In a separate table(table2), I have the remaining 2,000 rows of data. I am simply trying to take the values in table2 and put them in table1, but this statement isn't working: Update table1 Set field1 = (Select field1 From table2 Where table1.id = table2.id) Where Exists(Select field1 From table2 Where table1.id = table2.id) It looks like this should be working, but I am getting an error from Base, the db program I am using that just says error Near " ": syntax error...any help?? • .Net - interop assemblies taking 15 seconds to load when being referenced in a function

  This is a C# console application. I have a function that does something like this: static void foo() { Application powerpointApp; Presentation presentation = null; powerpointApp = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.PowerPoint.ApplicationClass(); } That's all it does. When it is called there is a fifteen second delay before the function gets hit. I added something like this: static void MyAssemblyLoadEventHandler(object sender, AssemblyLoadEventArgs args) { Console.WriteLine(DateTime.Now.ToString() + " ASSEMBLY LOADED: " + args.LoadedAssembly.FullName); Console.WriteLine(); } This gets fired telling me that my interop assemblies have been loaded about 10 milliseconds before my foo function gets hit. What can I do about this? The program needs to call this function (and eventually do something else) once and then exit so I need for these assemblies to be cached or something. Ideas?

• Length of data returned from CGImageGetDataProvider is larger than expected

  I'm loading a grayscale png image and I want to access the underlying pixel data. However after I load get the pixel data via CGImageGetDataProvider, the length of the data returned is longer than expected. CCGDataProviderRef provider = CGDataProviderCreateWithFilename(cStr); CGImageRef image = CGImageCreateWithPNGDataProvider(provider, NULL, FALSE, kCGRenderingIntentDefault); mapWidth = CGImageGetWidth(image); mapHeight = CGImageGetHeight(image); lookupMap = CGDataProviderCopyData(CGImageGetDataProvider(image)); mapWidth comes out to 1804 and mapHeight comes out to 1005. The product of which is 1813020 When I call CFDataGetLength(lookupMap) the response is 1833120. Where are these extra 20100 bytes coming from? Any help here is much appreciated. Am I missing something about the underlying format of the image?

• Google maps event problem with flex actionscript

  I am able to render a google map on a flex canvas. I create the map using the code below and then place markers on it in the onMapReady method (not shown) var map:com.google.maps.Map=new com.google.maps.Map(); map.id="map"; map.key="bla bla"; _mapCanvas.addChild(map); map.addEventListener(MapEvent.MAP_READY,onMapReady); It all works fine. However, if I remove the map and then set _mapCanvas to null, then run exactly the same code again, the onMapReady event does not fire. It is weird, but once a map has been created and deleted, the onMapReady event never seems to fire again. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks.
