• Certain SFTP user cannot connect

  I have my Ubuntu Server set up so users with the group of sftponly can connect with sftp, but have a shell of /bin/false, and they connect to their home directories. This is working fine with three of the user accounts I have. • Remote administer Network Policy Server

  In our domain I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine "GWY" with the Network Policy and Access Services role installed. From this machine I can open the Network Policy Server management console to administer this role. However, I have another Server 2008 R2 machine "WKS" in the domain where we have all the management consoles installed so we can manage all the servers from one location. I cannot find how to access the Network Policy Server console on this machine though.

• Effective file permissions tool's api in windows

  Starting from Windows Server 2003, Windows included a new tool which calculates the effective permissions for a user (basically it resolves all groups access and takes care of all "deny" permissions as well). An example in point is that a user A belongs to groups B and C. B has been denied read permissions on a file F, while C has been allowed read and write permissions on the file and I want to calculate the effective permissions user A has on file F. This tool is available on Windows Server 2003,Vista,7 and Server 2008 by right clicking on a file and going to properties - security - advanced - effective permissions. What I need is an API in C# which does the same job. The most common FILE API returns access rules (class FileAccessRules), but there seems to be no direct way to calculate effective permissions from these set of access rules. Note: I do not want to process effective permissions in the code if at all possible, but am ready to do so as a last resort.

• File association error while trying to browse to a network share in explorer or from run?

  I'm getting the below error message while trying to browse to a local share on a Windows Server 2003 machine: Windows cannot find ### this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an Association in the folder options control panel The server is on the network, has an assigned IP address, can access the internet and is otherwise functioning normally. I realise this message can occur when opening a document or file which has no application associated with it, but I'm trying to access a share. What's going on here?

• configure squid3 to set up a web proxy in ubuntu12.04

  I am in a LAN and have to use a proxy given to access the web in a very limited way. I can't even use google, github.com or SE sites. However I can use ssh to log into a server, which I have root access so basically I can do anything I want with it. So I was thinking that maybe I could use that server as a proxy so I can visit sites through it. I tested it using ssh -vT [email protected] which gave a proper response. And In my computer I can't do this. Also I tried downloading something from the gun.org using wget, which can't be done in my computer too. And it succeeded on that server. I don't know if that's enough to say that this server have full access to the Internet. But I assumed so and I installed squid3 on it. After trying some while, I failed to get it working. • Does anyone know a way to interact with HP OV(NNM) with python, perl or bash?

  Do anyone know if there is out there any API/library to access NNM database from perl or python? We have a NNM 7.53 which give us access to its data with its java based applet through http. And of course through the 'ovw' GUI interface. I've tried to use Mechanize and selenium2(webdriver) to automatize some checks. • Layer 3 switch routing

  I need help moving over to using our layer 3 switch as the inter vlan routing device rather than our cisco router. I've mostly got it working but I've got stuck near the end and need some advice (I think I just need a bit of education on the subject really). Cur I have a Dell PowerConnect 7048 connecting to a Cisco 1841 router. I've got a few key excerpts from the configs to provide the key information. On the powerconnect I have the following: ip routing ip default-gateway 172.31.14.1 ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 172.31.14.1 253 ! interface vlan 1 ip address 172.31.14.254 255.255.255.0 exit interface vlan 2 ip address 172.31.19.254 255.255.255.0 exit interface vlan 4 ip address 172.31.16.254 255.255.255.0 ! interface Gi1/0/1 description 'Link to L7Router01' switchport mode trunk switchport trunk allowed vlan except 3,7-4093 exit ! and on the Cisco the following: interface FastEthernet0/0 ip address 172.31.14.1 255.255.255.0 ip nat inside ip virtual-reassembly ! interface FastEthernet0/0.2 description Accounts VLAN encapsulation dot1Q 2 ip address 172.31.19.1 255.255.255.0 ip nat inside ip virtual-reassembly ! interface FastEthernet0/0.4 description Voice VLAN encapsulation dot1Q 4 ip address 172.31.16.1 255.255.255.0 ip nat inside ip virtual-reassembly ! So what I'm doing is moving clients over so that their default gateway is a 172.31.x.254 address rather than a 172.31.x.1 address. This works great for inter-vlan routing, I have no issues with this. The switch can also access the router no worries, and users on the 172.31.14.0/24 network can access all interfaces and sub-interfaces on the router, including 172.31.14.1. They can also access all of the interfaces that the router connects off to, no worries there. The problem I have is that users on the 172.31.16.0/24 and 172.31.19.0/24 subnets cannot access either 172.31.14.1 or any of the subnets the router connects to. They can, however, connect to BOTH of the sub interfaces on the router from either subnet. What am I missing here? Why can't the vlans connect to the non-sub interface on the router? Are tagged packets being sent to this interface?

  I have Window 2003 server with AD installed. The file server is used to share the folder across network. However after 1 hour suddenly I can't access my share - it asks me the password and then when I enter it it does not allow me, and say access denied. When I try to open mmc.exe on server it says: The application has failed to start because MS.dll was not loaded How can I fix this problem? Can I re-install MMC?

• Netflix OData API iPhone: Accessing more than just the title

  Netflix just recently announced that they have a new OData API which gives developers access to more of their catalog and is exactly what I've been looking for. Also, on odata.org they have a sample iphone objective-c sdk that accesses the netflix odata api and displays a few movie titles in a tableview with a navigationcontroller. http://odataobjc.codeplex.com/ I'm just messing around right now and I would like to access more than just the catalog titles but I have no idea how to. Preferably, I would like to just push another view controller that will implement a page that can display the synopsis etc. Any suggestions on how to access the other data elements of a movie? • Can't write to raid on Fedora

  I just did a fresh install of Fedora 11 and added Raid 1 following this tutorial: http://www.optimiz3.com/installing-fedora-11-and-setting-up-a-raid-0-1-5-6-or-10-array/ Now I see the filesystem when I open 'Computer' in the GUI, and I open it and see 'lost+found', but i can't write to the drive. The option is simply greyed out. And when I view Properties on the drive and go to Permissions, it says 'The permissions of {driveid} could not be determined.' Any ideas?

Right now I have to either open TextEdit, click around until I get to the same directory I'm in, or I have to open a terminal window, cd to the directory, and touch blahblah.txt.   When I plug in my Windows mobile it appears in My Computer as a portable device but the data I need regular access to is many sub directories in. Is it possible to create a shortcut or access a path on a mobile device directly? When I open the properties of the folder I want it says the location starts with "Computer\Name of Phone\Phone\". The problem is using that as a path to navigate straight to the files doesn't work. Thanks for your help.

  I am trying to parse a Rss2.0 feed on Android using a Pull parser. XmlPullParser parser = Xml.newPullParser(); parser.setInput(url.open(), null); The prolog of the feed XML says the encoding is "utf-8". When I open the remote stream and pass this to my Pull Parser, I get invalid token, document not well formed exceptions. When I save the XML file and open it in the browser(FireFox) the browser reports presence of Unicode 0x12 character(grave accent?) in the file and fails to render the XML. What is the best way to handle such cases assuming that I do not have any control over the XML being returned? Thanks.

  How do you delete one or more fax jobs from the Job History on a Xerox Workcentre Pro 123? The Xerox Workcentre Pro 123 is a combination copier, printer, scanner and fax machine, and it keeps a history of the numbers dialed for sending faxes, including any long distance access codes that were dialed. In order to keep these access codes private, I'd like to remove these jobs from the job history, or alternatively clear the entire job history. Unfortunately the User Guide and the Quick Reference Guide don't explain how to do this.
