  • Click two buttons at the same time in Android

    I have two buttons that both have onTouchListeners and perform an action when pressed down. Why do they not work if you try to click both at the same time? I'm building for Android 1.6. I don't have a real device to test on, and you can't test clicking two things at the same time in the emulator. Thanks for any help.

  • How to align all fields as label width grows

    I have a form where the labels are on the left and the fields on the right. This layout works great when the labels have small amounts of text. I can easily set a min-width on the labels to ensure they all have the same distance to the fields. In the first picture below, this works as expected. A problem arises when the label's text becomes too long, it'll either overflow to the next line or push the field on the same line over to the left (as seen in picture 2). This doesn't push the other labels so it is left with a "jagged" look. Ideally, it should like to style it as picture 3 with something like the following markup: <fieldset> <label>Name</label><input type="text" /><br /> <label>Username</label><input type="text" /> </fieldset> I created a jsFiddle to show the issue. Of course, the easy cross-browser way to solve this would be to use tables. That just creates tag-hell for something that should be so simple. Note: this does not need to support IE6.

  • Cant get JavaScipt to check for null objects

    I really don't know what the issue is here. Far as I can see, the code is simple and should work fine. var Prices=""; for (var PriceCount = 1; PriceCount <= 120; PriceCount++) { var CurrentPrice = "Price" + PriceCount; if (prevDoc.getElementById(CurrentPrice).value != null) { if (Prices == "") { Prices = prevDoc.getElementById(CurrentPrice).value; } else { Prices += "," + prevDoc.getElementById(CurrentPrice).value; } } else { break; } } There could be up to 120 hidden inputs on the form. The moment we check for an input that doesn't exist the loop should break. My test page has two input elements that get pulled. On the third (the null) I get this error in firebug: prevDoc.getElementById(CurrentPrice) is null if (prevDoc.getElementById(CurrentPrice).value != null) { Yes it is null...that's what the check is for ?_? Does any one know what I'm doing wrong? This seems like it should be really straight forward. EDIT: for clarity's sake, prevDoc=window.opener.document

    Playing with Ruby and Ruby-Pandoc. Seems like a nice tool, if I can get it to work. I'd like to convert some Markdown text (with embedded lists and other fanciness) to Rich Text. Here's the text I'm converting: Title === This is a paragraph. Hallelujah. How i can update message but leave old message date?   • RegExpValidator never matches

    Hi, I've got a class that's meant to validate input fields to make sure the value is always a decimal. I've tested the regex here: http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=validators_7.html, and it looks like it does the right thing, but in my app, I can't seem to get it to match to a number format.     I'm working on a bit of a project in python. I have a client and a server. The server listens for connections and once a connection is received it waits for input from the client. The idea is that the client can connect to the server and execute system commands such as ls and cat.   • Java Socket - how to catch Exception of BufferedReader.readline()

    I have a Thread (let's say T1) which reads data from socket: public void run() { while (running) { try { BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader( new InputStreamReader(socket.getInputStream()) ); String input = reader.readLine(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } } Another Thread (lets say T2) try to finish the program in one of its method. Therefore T2 does the following: T1.running = false; socket.close(); Here is this scenario for which i couldn't find a solution: T1 is active and waiting for some input to read i.e. blocking. context switching T2 is active and sets running to false, closes the socket context switching because T1 was blocking and T2 closed the socket, T1 throws an Exception. What i want is to catch this SocketException. i can't put a try/catch(SocketException) in T1.run(). So how can i catch it in T1's running-method? If it's not possible to catch it in T1's running, then how can i catch it elsewhere? PS: "Another question about the Thread Debugging" Normally when i debug the code step by step, i lose the 'active running line' on a context switch. Let's say i'm in line 20 of T1, context switch happens, let's assume the program continues from the 30.line of T2, but the debugger does not go/show to the 30.line of T2, instead the 'active running line' vanishes. So i lose the control over the code. I use Eclipse for Java and Visual Studio for C#. So what is the best way to track the code while debugging on a context switch ?

  • Problem running apps fullscreen in emulator

    I've created a device targeting 2.1 and having a screen screen size of 480x800 (WVGA). Some apps, including the one I'm currently writing, as well as the ApiDemos example, won't run fullscreen. I've uploaded a screenshot here: http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/503/emulator.png What could cause something like this? If I run these apps on my HTC Desire (which has the same resolution), they utilize the whole screen like they should.

  • Adding dynamic content with events in jquerymobile

    Currently I'm stuck with a problem in jquerymobile: I'm adding items to a list dynamically and use enhanceWithin() in the end (so styling is correct). After this I like to add click-events for each list item but the problem is, that enhanceWithin runs asynchronous and so I always get the error message "cannot call methods on checkboxradio prior to initialization; attempted to call method 'refresh'" When I delay the event-adding-code it works perfectly. I do very little processing in code before writing to sql server (2008 express by the way) typically i use the sqlhelper class's ExecuteNoneQuery method and pass in a stored proc name and list of parameters that the SP expects. This is very convenient, but i need a much faster way of doing this. Thanks.

However, the headerRow isn't working in FF, yet works well in IE.
