• Boost singleton and undefined reference

  Hello, I globally use singleton pattern in my project. To make it easier - boost::singleton. Current project uses Ogre3d library for rendering. Here is some class: class GraphicSystem : public singleton<GraphicSystem> { private: Ogre::RenderWindow *mWindow; public: Ogre::RenderWindow *getWindow() const { return mWindow; } }; In GraphicSystem constructor I fill the mWindow value: mWindow = mRoot->createRenderWindow(...); I cheked it, everything makes normally. So, now I have to use handler for the window in input system (to get window handle). Somewhere else in another class: Ogre::RenderWindow *temp = GraphicSystem::get_mutable_instance().getWindow(); GraphicSystem::get_mutable_instance().getWindow()->getCustomAttribute("WINDOW", &mWindowHandle); temp is 0x00, and there is segfault at last line (getting custon attribute). I can't understand, why does singleton returns undefined pointer for the window. All another singleton-based classes work well.

  hi everyone, I have writed a primitive wcf (vs 2010) service and created proxy files by svcutil. Later I created a mobile project on vs2008 and added proxy files on project but this error occured. Error 1 The type or namespace name 'ServiceContractAttribute' does not exist in the namespace 'System.ServiceModel' (are you missing an assembly reference?) C:\Users\Abb\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\WCF\MobileService\MobileClient\Sample.cs the proxy files runs well on console application (vs 2008) but there is errors on mobile. System.ServiceModel doesnot support ServiceContractAttribute.

  Anyone know of a project(s) that seek to abstract form definitions on level higher than WPF, Silverlight, Winforms, WebForms, etc... I'm working on a project where we are fixing up 16 somewhat simple WebForms. But we may convert (and probably will convert to WPF or Silverlight 3 to 4 months from now. I'd rather define these forms once and be done with it. I'm willing to write a small DSL to help define forms, subforms, validation, links, and popups. I'm only looking to solve this for 80% or 90% of the forms. Four are very complicated and I'm willing to hand code these. I guess I'm looking for something like what XUL had hoped to be.

• How do I add a folder/group to SCM (CVS) in Xcode?

  I have an iPhone project in Xcode which is checked into CVS via XCode's SCM support. I have created a new folder in this project, and created a group for it's files. However, the files in this group/folder are not in CVS, and I cannot figure out how to get them in there. The usual "Add to repository" under the "SCM" menu is always grayed-out when I try to select one of the files - I would assume this is because the folder is not in CVS. How do I add the folder/files to CVS?

  Alright, so recently I was using Notepad++ for all of my programming needs, but I've started using Eclipse for larger-scale Java projects now. I decided to pick up an old project of mine which used various classes within the "javax.xml.*" namespaces. When I was compiling and running the program with Notepad++ it worked just fine, however Eclipse can't seem to find these packages. My question is this, since I obviously have the classes somewhere within my current installation of JDK 6 (since I had no problems when using Notepad++), where can I find the location of the .JAR file(s) that include these namespaces/classes so that I can add them to my Eclipse project? • Having 'mvn deploy' in Hudson's build goals and the standard approach of releasing

  I set up Hudson for my project with the build goals mvn clean deploy site:site, run a build every midnight and whenever there are new changes. One thing I have been wondering is whether I should include deploy in the build goals because it could happen that if I had just released version 1.0.0 of my project (I've changed the pom to be version 1.0.0 and committed it) but not yet increased the version number to 1.0.1-SNAPSHOT for several days, I could end up with multiple different 1.0.0 builds being deployed at different times. But I've seen people are using deploy in their Hudson's build goals - I wonder how they deal with this issue. What's the correct way of doing a release with Maven actually? Thanks for any pointers!

  Hello, I have a database (sql 2008 mdf file), a class library project with an edmx file, created with the wizard. So the connection string is also made by the wizard. This project is on a teamfoundation server. I can use all the wizard made objects when coding. But when i run the program and I try to make an entityContainerName, the program crashes and gives this error: The specified named connection is either not found in the configuration, not intended to be used with the EntityClient provider, or not valid. on this line: public TestEntities() : base("name=TestEntities", "TestEntities") How can I solve this problem or what am I doing wrong?

• Can't compile grails Tomcat plugin

  I'm using Netbeans to build a Grails app, while I have used this fine before on this new computer I can not get even the basic project to compile and run. I am getting errors around compiling the Tomcat plugin. If I uninstall the plugin it and use Jetty instead it will compile but the project isn't set up for Jetty and is missing files. • System locks up at login after latest update on 12.04

  For starters, I am a noob when it comes to Ubuntu and Linux...but I am hopeful that I have the "light" and the error of my past MS ways :) ..... After a recent update last week from 12.04 to 12.04.1 my system now locks up at the login screen. Before the update the system would run but must admit it ran EXTREMELY slow. I have installed 12.04 on a Dell P4 2.4 Ghz, 2 GB DDR Ram, 80 GB IDE HD and an integrated Intel 3D Extreme Graphics. Any ideas on why now the system locking up at login screen? • Shared WCF client code between .NET and Silverlight apps?

  I'm developing a .NET application that will have both a WinForms and a Silverlight client. Although the majority of code will be in the server, I'll need to have quite a bit of logic in the clients as well, and I would like to keep the client library code the same. From what I could figure out so far, I need to have two different project types, a class library and a Silverlight class library, and link the files from one project to the other. This seems kind of lame, but it works for simple code. My problem, though, is that the code generated by the SVCUtil.exe to access WCF services is different from the code generated by the slsvcutil.exe, and the silverlight code is actually incompatible with the .NET one: I get a bunch of problems with the System.ServiceModel.Channel classes when I try to import the class into .NET. Has anybody done anything similar to this before? What am I doing wrong?

• SQL Server: Primary Key Schema Largely Guid but Sometimes Integer Types...

  OK, this may be a silly question but... I have inherited a project and am tasked with going over the primary key relationships. The project largely uses Guids. I say "largely" because there are examples where tables use integral types to reflect enumerations. For example, dbo.MessageFolder has MessageFolderId of type int to reflect public emum MessageFolderTypes { inbox = 1, sent = 2, trash = 3, etc... } This happens a lot. There are tables with primary keys of type int which is unavoidable because of their reliance on enumerations and tables with primary keys of type Guid which reflect the primary key choice on the part of the previous programmer. Should I care that the PK schema is spotty like this? It doesn't feel right but does it really matter? If this could create a problem, how do I get around it (I really can't move all PKs to type int without serious legwork and I have never heard of enumerations that have guid values)? Thanks.

  Is there a metric that can assist in determining the object-orientedness of a system or application? I've seen some pretty neat metrics in the .NET Reflector Add-ins codeplex project, but nothing like this yet. If such a metric doesn't exist, would it even be possible or useful? There are the 3 supposed tenets of object-oriented programming: encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism; a tool that ranked programs against these might be able to show areas of a C# (or similar) code base where the whole object-oriented ideal was discarded, and perhaps how many bugs are associated with that area versus the rest of the project.

For OC4J: If you do not specify any transaction attributes for an EJB method then OC4J uses default transaction attributes. OC4J by default uses Required for CMP 2.0, NotSupported for MDBs and Supports for all other types of EJBs. (refer to official doc) For JBoss: default for all types EJB is Required. • Using the C Cluster library in Visual C++.

  Right so i'm trying to use a C library in C++, never actually done this before i thought it would be a case of declaring the header includes under a extern "C" and setting the compile as flag to "default" but i'm still getting linker errors and think that the header file might have to be complied as a DLL. I have no idea really. Is it the library that's the problem or is it me? There are some make files in the cluster-1.47\src, but i don't know how or if they relate to "cluster.h".   I need to add one menu item in IE context menu. It is similar with Google customized context menu "Search Google for xxx" when you right click on IE. I did a research and found that overriding IDocHostUIHandler::ShowContextMenu in a IE BHO can customized IE context menu. The sample project can be found in Popup blocker project published in codeproject. It works well and is easy to implement. However this approach has a problem. The problem is it will conflict with other add-ons' context menu customization per MSDN. In MSDN Internet Explorer Center forum, there are some discussions about this topic. However there is not a proper implementation posted. If anybody has experience on this, please share your idea. Thanks!

SVN Project B: holds all library files. (other SVN projects get all their libraries from here via external svn) Question: I want to commit foo.jar from A into B.   I have a project containing files generated from a .g file (antlr 2.7.x). The guy who wrote the whole thing has left me with it. Until now, I did not need to modify the grammar and all was fine. But now, I cannot continue without modifying the grammar (i.e. the .g-file). I have the source code of the used antlr and the visual studio 2005 project. Unfortunately, the lexer and parser files are not generated prior to the build (in fact they are never generated) and that leads to my question: how do I generate these files whenever the grammar file is modified? Or in other words, how do I integrate antlr into visual studio?
