  • the '.htaccess' file won't work on my apache server

    Hi, I have an Apache server installed on my windows machine using XAMPP. Now I'm trying to use a premade .htaccess file for one of my projects, but it doesn't seem to be seeing it. The project just totally ignores it, even though I've enabled mod_rewrite. Any idea how I can troubleshoot this? I can't fix it if it just doesn't work and doesn't show me any errors. Appreciate your help.

  • How to configure apache / php / postfix website emails when using vhosts?

    I have a LAMP webserver configured to serve multiple websites. Each virtual host has various PHP applications, mainly Wordpress. When users sign up to the Wordpress sites, email is sent by PHP through to postfix, and then on to the receiver. The problem is that postfix is identifying itself to the remote server with the contents of /etc/hostname, which is not a fully qualified domain name. Some mail servers reject this and the mail bounces. Additionally, the return path is being set to one of the vitual host domains, seemingly at random. I could set /etc/hostname to one of the website domain names, but then the emails from the other websites would have a wrong server in the headers, and this would not fix the return-path issue. Possibly related, apache2 says "could not determine the server's fully qualified domain name" on startup. How do I fix this so that each website can send email without revealing the other websites hosted on the server?

    The command $ sudo apt-get install libapache2-mod-proxy-html and then $sudo service apache2 restart fires: apache2: Syntax error on line 210 of /etc/apache2/apache2.conf: Syntax error on line 1 of /etc/apache2/mods-enabled/proxy_html.load: Cannot load /usr/lib/libxml2.so.2 into server: /usr/lib/libxml2.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Action 'configtest' failed. I am using X220 laptop. Perhaps related thing but ?AMD here. Perhaps some repeating bug in Ubuntu, again. How to fix this? Any patch yet for Ubuntu?

  • Make Apache encode or replace quotes instead of escaping them?

    In the dcoumentation I read Format Notes For security reasons, starting with version 2.0.46, non-printable and other special characters in %r, %i and %o are escaped using \xhh sequences, where hh stands for the hexadecimal representation of the raw byte. Exceptions from this rule are " and \, which are escaped by prepending a backslash, and all whitespace characters, which are written in their C-style notation (\n, \t, etc). In versions prior to 2.0.46, no escaping was performed on these strings so you had to be quite careful when dealing with raw log files. This is a problem for Analog which is still the handiest analyser I use. I get .... "GET /somerequest?q=\"quoted string\"&someparm=bla" in the logfile and it is of course flagged as corrupt since Analog expects .... "GET /somerequest?q=%22quoted string%22&someparm=bla" or similar. I realise I can pre-process using something like perl -p -i.bak -e 's/\\"/%22/g' logfile But I'd rather not have to add this step to these files which are 50-90MB zipped per day Thanks for any pointers

  • xrandr fails when 3rd monitor has higher resolution

    I tried many combinations with xrandr command under lubuntu 12.04 to setup my three monitors DVI (DELL 1) left detected as HDMI1 HDMI (LG E2290) middle detected as HDMI2 VGA (DELL 2) right detected as VGA1 I can get the display with fix 1280x1024 on all the monitors. But once I setup 1280x1024 + 1920x1080 + 1280x1024, I get blank screen on all the monitors. Sometimes it throws crts fail error instead of blanking out. Anyone have similar issues? any solutions/workarounds? P.S. I can setup two monitors using 1280x1280 and 1920x1080 P.S.S. HDMI2 required at least 1920x1080 to display sharp picture.     In Excel 2003, when you created a XY chart using time as an axis, you could set the scaling of these axes by typing in the date. In Excel 2007, you have to use the decimal version of the time (eg. How many days since some arbitrary earlier date). I was wondering if there was a way to avoid having to make such a calculation? A developer posted on a blog that this issue would be fixed in a future release, but all versions of Excel 2007 I have tried have not resolved this issue. The relevant quote: Those of you familiar with this technique of converting time to a decimal may recall that Excel 2003 allowed you to enter a date and time like “1/1/07 11:00 AM” directly in the axis option min/max fields and Excel would calculate the appropriate decimal representation. This currently does not work in Excel 2007 but will be fixed in a subsequent release.

    My Apache is installed by yum install apache And now I'm trying to install subversion server from source following instructions here.   • Excel axis problem

    I am graphing the height above sea level obtained by GPS at 12 measuring stations, which are distributed along a straight line but NOT equidistantly. Excel does a nice job of creating a suitable Y axis. But, it insists on placing the 12 stations equidistantly along the X axis. Consequently, the line graph does not represent the true cross section of the terrain. It is only true at the stations themselves. Surely there must be a way that I can enter the actual distances between the stations into a column, and get Excel to read from that column and space the values accordingly? It is such a basic mapping procedure for geologists and many others. Thanks

    I have an application which downloads more than 4500 html pages from 62 target hosts using HttpClient (4.1.3 or 4.2-beta). It runs on Windows 7 64-bit. Processor - Core i7 2600K. Network bandwidth - 54 Mb/s. At this moment it uses such parameters: DefaultHttpClient and PoolingClientConnectionManager; Also it hasIdleConnectionMonitorThread from http://hc.apache.org/httpcomponents-client-ga/tutorial/html/connmgmt.html; Maximum total connections = 80; Default maximum connections per route = 5; For thread management it uses ForkJoinPool with the parallelism level = 5 (Do I understand correctly that it is a number of working threads?) In this case my network usage (in Windows task manager) does not rise above 2.5%. To download 4500 pages it takes 70 minutes. And in HttpClient logs I have such things: DEBUG ForkJoinPool-2-worker-1 [org.apache.http.impl.conn.PoolingClientConnectionManager]: Connection released: [id: 209][route: {}-http://stackoverflow.com][total kept alive: 6; route allocated: 1 of 5; total allocated: 10 of 80] Total allocated connections do not raise above 10-12, in spite of that I've set it up to 80 connections. If I'll try to rise parallelism level to 20 or 80, network usage remains the same but a lot connection time-outs will be generated. I've read tutorials on hc.apache.org (HttpClient Performance Optimization Guide and HttpClient Threading Guide) but they does not help.   • Single Sign On with adLDAP and apache (xampp 1.7.3)

    I've successfully managed to connect to my Active Directory if I type in a username and password. To do this I'm using a PHP script called adLDAP. But I want my users to auto sign in if they are signed in on a computer connected to the Active Directory. If I understand things right, I need to use something called Single Sign On (SSO). I've tried searching for a tutorial on how to install this on a apache server running on windows 7, but with no luck. Could someone guide me in the right directions please? :)

  • Intercept page request behind firewall return altered content with php and apache

    I'm providing free wifi service and need an ad to be added to all page requests. Currently I have a router forwarding all http requests to an apache server, which redirects all requests to an index.php page. The index.php page reads the request, fetches the content from the appropriate site, and edits the content to include the ad. The problem is that all images and css files etc. cannot be accessed, because when the browser tries to get the image <img src="site.com/image.jpg"> it's just redirected back to the index.php. I can change settings for the router (running dd-wrt) and the webserver (apache2 and php 5.2). Is there a solution that allows content to be edited before returning to the client, and allows css and images to be accessed?

  • URL on apache server does not default to the .php file after / has been added

    Generally a url that looks like this: http://www.domain.com/product.php/12/ will open up product.php and serve the /12/ as request parameters, which then my PHP script can process to pull out the right product info. However when I migrated this whole site, after developing it, to a new server, I get a 404 error, because on that server it's not defaulting to the mother directory/file in case of an absence of requested directories. I vaguely remember learning that this is generally a common apache function but I can't seem to recall how to set it up or how to manipulate it.. if there's an .htaccess method to achieve this that would be great.

    I have upgraded a CXF web service implementation from Apache CXF 2.0.12 to 2.2.7 and now I can't connect from a remote computer. http://localhost:9000/Data?wsdl works on the installed computer. http://computername:9000/Data?wsdl from a remote computer does not work anymore (worked before upgrade). The service is configured in code (no configuration files) with the following code: DataServiceImpl dataImplementor = new DataServiceImpl(); JaxWsServerFactoryBean svrFactory = new JaxWsServerFactoryBean(); svrFactory.setServiceClass(DataServiceImpl.class); svrFactory.setAddress("http://localhost:9000/Data"); svrFactory.setServiceBean(dataImplementor); if(intercept) { svrFactory.getInInterceptors().add(new LoggingInInterceptor()); svrFactory.getOutInterceptors().add(new LoggingOutInterceptor()); } svrFactory.create(); Is there anything in the configuration which defines "Allowed clients" or something like that?
