I have a list of users and a list of groups, but I'd like to be able to have nesting of the groups: user "Eric" would be in "Users", "Web", and "Administrators". The problem is that I cannot drag a user to an empty <ul> in the list.

• How do you classify languages into regular, context free, and phrase-structure?

  If you're given a language, how do you figure out if it's regular, CF but not regular, or phrase-structure but not CF? Is there a good way to attack this problem?   I have concerns about the performance of the following architecture: j2ee application in an appserver, ejb session bean and DAOs remote (rich) client, a swing app. A classic, form-based client only one stateless ejb, the ejb is accessed via web services, not rmi, through a homegrown framework each web service request will get authenticated against an LDAP no state stored on the server, only client-side sessions I guess working on the rich GUI will involve a remote call in every 2-10 seconds, or more, per user. What do you think?

  I can change the irb prompt mode with irb --prompt prompt-mode I can see what null and simple does, but I can't tell the difference between null and xmp and the difference between default/classic/inf-ruby. Can someone explain to me what these other modes do? It seems pointless to have multiple modes doing the same thing.

  I am using Lightbox 2 and I have followed the short tutorial on how to insert it in a webpage and it works perfectly but the close and refresh images don't show. After they press submit the drop down list is going back to the default value instead of what they selected.   Say I'm writing a Django app, and all the templates in the app require a certain variable. The "classic" way to deal with this, afaik, is to write a context processor and add it to TEMPLATE_CONTEXT_PROCESSORS in the settings.py. My question is, is this the right way to do it, considering that apps are supposed to be "independent" from the actual project using them? In other words, when deploying that app to a new project, is there any way to avoid the project having to explicitly mess around with its settings?

  When refactoring away some #defines I came across declarations similar to the following in a C++ header file: static const unsigned int VAL = 42; const unsigned int ANOTHER_VAL = 37; The question is, what difference, if any, will the static make? Note that multiple inclusion of the headers isn't possible due to the classic #ifndef HEADER #define HEADER #endif trick (if that matters). Does the static mean only one copy of VAL is created, in case the header is included by more than one source file?

In Carbon, I think this was kEventClassVolume. What's the Cocoa equivalent? (A pointer into Apple's documentation on this would satisfy the question. I've been unable to find anything!)

• IIS7 Itegrated Pipeline Mode: Context.User is intermittently null for Windows Auth

  Our code relies on checking the Context.User.Identity value in the Global.asax Application_AuthenticateRequest(...) method to retrieve some information about the logged in user. This works fine in classic mode but when I flip IIS to use the Integrated Pipeline "Context.User" comes back as null, but only intermittently. Any ideas why? I have < authentication mode="Windows" and only Windows Auth enabled in the Virtual Directory.

  Style, set to Qt application, vanishes, when QDockWindow or QToolBar is being unattached. Application is designed to work in Windows XP environment, most of users use it's 'classic' scheme, and application's style is Cleanlooks. It looks fine, until one want to undock dockable window or move toolbar. CLeanlooks vanishes, and it is rather ugly. Is there any workaround to handle this?

  I need to send hundreds of newsletters, but would like to check first if email exists on server. It's called smtp validation, at least i think so, based on my research on net. There's several libraries that can do that, and also a page with open-source code in asp (http://www.coveryourasp.com/ValidateEmail.asp#Result3), but I have hard time reading classic asp, and it seams that it uses some third-party library... Does someone have code for smtp validation in c#, and/or general explanation of how it works?
