  • caches domain user on local PC

    - by user630320
We have a fully working domain in UK and around the world we have user who use VPN ( checkpoint) to connect to or domain. One of the user in USA has a laptop which he never logged on to before ( it does caches the user login details). Does anyone know how to cache user login information on this laptop. I have tried netdom trust to add this user to the laptop but i was not able to do this. At the moment user is logging in with a local administrator account and then using VPN to log on to our domain but when it comes to accessing files on domain user get access deieded. When user try to login it gets There are currently no log on servers available to service the logon request Does anyone know how to add user.

  • How to I create a user that is allowed to only add/remove users to distribution lists in Active Directory?

    - by Sorin Sbarnea
I do have a third party product (Jira) that has Active Directory integration via LDAP. I want to enable Jira administrators to edit group memberships and have them syncronized inside Active Directory. This currently works but I needed to use a Domain Administrator service account in order to do this. The question is how can I do this without giving the entire Domain Administrator permission to the service account.

  • Adding a W2008 Authenticating Server to existing W2003 Domain?

    - by spelk
I have an existing W2003 Domain, simple setup with one DC and a SQL Server (approx 100 users). There are issues with Windows 7 Clients and login scripts and we're now seeing much greater numbers of Windows 7 users turning up as they upgrade their PC/Laptops. What I want to do, is add another Server with W2008 on it, and authenticate the Windows 7 Clients - but leave the W2003 server running as is - to prevent disruption to the network and the existing WinXP users. Is it possible? Any advice as to how do this, without major disruption to the W2003 network?

  • have 2 exchange servers to communicate together!

    - by Data-Base
we have our exchange server 2007 (10.10.2.11) at work with domain "dddddd.com" and ironport and it work just fine! we need to test some thing at work with Exchange 2010 !! so we came up with this idea: we created a locked network and install firewall (10.10.2.88) the locked network has it's own DC and Exchange servers! we used the domain "dddddd.loc" any way it will be deleted! IPs DC 10.0.0.1 EX 10.0.0.11 now the Exchange server up and running in the firewall (10.10.2.88) we opened the ports and forwarded it to the Exchange2010 (10.0.0.11) in our main DC we defined the zone dddddd.loc to the firewall and the MX records as well but when we test we get error now how to make it so that the 2010 will send email directly to the 2007 (we will not use it to more that that)? and the 2007 will send the email to 2010 if the email has the domain dddddd.loc ?

  • How do I install Skype on computer so that anyone who logs in does NOT have to go through the initial config?

    - by Matt
I installed Skype when logged on to the (local) admin account. Now, when I log off that, and log on as myname on the domain, I have to click through the intial setup steps (after you've already run the installer) of Skype. So, I have to click next to get through the mic setup/test, and it asks me if I want to take a pic. How do I get it so that any person who logs in can just open Skype and go straight to the login screen? Windows 7 64 bit, 2008R2

  • When one DC crashes, TFS 2012 stops working

    - by blizz
We have two Windows 2008 domain controllers. We installed the second DC only a few months ago. We also have a TFS 2012 server on the network. Today, when the older DC crashed, TFS stopped working completely. Local users received messages such as "You are not authorized to access ServerName\Collection". Remote users received messages such as "The server was used in your last session, but it might be offline or unreachable". So my question is, why did TFS not use the second, newer DC instead of just crashing along with the first DC?

  • In Wireshark's Protocol Hierarchy Statistics screen, is the total byte count of a capture the sum of the Bytes column or just the top line (Frame)?

    - by Howiecamp
Part 1 - I'm looking at Wireshark's Protocol Hierarchy Statistics screen (sample below), is the total byte count of the capture the sum of the Bytes column or just the top line (Frame)? I'm 99% that it's the latter because of protocol rollup but I wanted to conform. Part 2 - From Wireshark documentation on this screen, "Protocol layers can consist of packets that won't contain any higher layer protocol, so the sum of all higher layer packets may not sum up to the protocols packet count. Example: In the screenshot TCP has 85,83% but the sum of the subprotocols (HTTP, ...) is much less. This may be caused by TCP protocol overhead, e.g. TCP ACK packets won't be counted as packets of the higher layer)." Can you explain this?

  • Domain in a hosted environment

    - by cpgascho
We have an application we host in a third party data center for our clients. We have multiple clients running the same application on several racks of servers. Most of our clients require that our servers be SAS70 compliant. Currently each server has it's own set of users and security settings that need to be configured. We are creating scripts to do this, but what would be the risks/advantages of joining all the servers to the domain for User Management and Group policy for enforcing security settings? The rational of some is that if the DC is hacked the whole network would be compromised where as if one stand alone hosted server is hacked everything else should be safe.

  • Remote additional domain controllers

    - by user125248
Is it possible to setup several additional domain controllers (ADC) at remote locations that are connected via medium bandwidth DSL (2-10 Mbit) WAN connections for a single domain (intranet.example.com)? And would it be a good idea? We have five sites and would like to have extremely high availability if any of the site were to lose their Internet connection. However each site is very small, and all are over a fairly small geographical area within the same region, so it would seem strange to have a PDC for each of the sites. If it were possible to have an ADC for each site, would the clients use the ADC or just use the PDC if it's available to them?

The logon type is 3, that means it is a network logon. I have identify the Workstation from the log, but how should i prove who or which process is sending broadcast with logon authentication to my DC. The Anti-virus is also updated. Note:- The Workstation is in Workgroup.

  • NEC uPD720200 USB 3.0 not working on Ubuntu 12.04

    - by Jagged
I've recently installed Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit on a HP Envy 15 1104tx. Most stuff appears to be working fine with the exception of the two USB3 ports (USB2 port works fine). I've read a lot of articles but so far have not been able to find a solution. I've tried adding 'pci=nomsi' to '/etc/default/grub' but this made no difference. Some articles suggest booting into Windows and upgrading the firmware on the uPD720200. Any body had any experience of this? Is there a way I can checked the firmware version of the NEC uPD720200 in Linux to see if there is an update available? Any help appreciated. uname -a: Linux HP-ENVY-15-1104tx 3.2.0-26-generic #41-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jun 14 17:49:24 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux lshw: hp-envy-15-1104tx description: Notebook • MVC and delegation

    - by timjver
I am a beginning iOS programmer and use the Model-View-Controller model as a design pattern: my model doesn't know anything about my view (in order to make it compatible with any view), my view doesn't know anything about my model so they interact via my controller. A very usual way for a view to interact with the controller is through delegation: when the user interacts with the app, my view will notify my controller, which can call some methods of my model and update my view, if necessary. However, would it make sense to also make my controller the delegate of my model? I'm not convinced this is the way to go. It could be handy for my model to notify my controller of some process being finished, for example, or to ask for extra input of the user if it doesn't have enough information to complete the task. The downside of this, though, is that my controller would be the delegate for both my controller and my model, so there wouldn't be really a proper way to notify my model of changes in my view, and vice versa. (correct me if I'm wrong.) Conclusion: I don't really think it's a good idea to to have my controller to be the delegate of my model, but just being the delegate of my view would be fine. Is this the way most MVC models handle? Or is there a way to have the controller be the delegate of both the controller and the model, with proper communication between them? Like I said, I'm a beginner, so I want to do such stuff the right way immediately, rather than spending loads of hours on models that won't work anyway. :)

  • Shorter Rails routes

    - by Puru puru rin..
    Hello, I have a thing blog application, and I would like to shorten my routes. Here there are: Blog::Application.routes.draw do resources :categories do resources :articles do resources :comments end end A rake routes command build the following lines: GET /categories/:category_id/articles/:article_id/comments(.:format) {:controller=>"comments", :action=>"index"} category_article_comments POST /categories/:category_id/articles/:article_id/comments(.:format) {:controller=>"comments", :action=>"create"} new_category_article_comment GET /categories/:category_id/articles/:article_id/comments/new(.:format) {:controller=>"comments", :action=>"new"} GET /categories/:category_id/articles/:article_id/comments/:id(.:format) {:controller=>"comments", :action=>"show"} PUT /categories/:category_id/articles/:article_id/comments/:id(.:format) {:controller=>"comments", :action=>"update"} category_article_comment DELETE /categories/:category_id/articles/:article_id/comments/:id(.:format) {:controller=>"comments", :action=>"destroy"} edit_category_article_comment GET /categories/:category_id/articles/:article_id/comments/:id/edit(.:format) {:controller=>"comments", :action=>"edit"} GET /categories/:category_id/articles(.:format) {:controller=>"articles", :action=>"index"} category_articles POST /categories/:category_id/articles(.:format) {:controller=>"articles", :action=>"create"} new_category_article GET /categories/:category_id/articles/new(.:format) {:controller=>"articles", :action=>"new"} GET /categories/:category_id/articles/:id(.:format) {:controller=>"articles", :action=>"show"} PUT /categories/:category_id/articles/:id(.:format) {:controller=>"articles", :action=>"update"} category_article DELETE /categories/:category_id/articles/:id(.:format) {:controller=>"articles", :action=>"destroy"} edit_category_article GET /categories/:category_id/articles/:id/edit(.:format) {:controller=>"articles", :action=>"edit"} GET /categories(.:format) {:controller=>"categories", :action=>"index"} categories POST /categories(.:format) {:controller=>"categories", :action=>"create"} new_category GET /categories/new(.:format) {:controller=>"categories", :action=>"new"} GET /categories/:id(.:format) {:controller=>"categories", :action=>"show"} PUT /categories/:id(.:format) {:controller=>"categories", :action=>"update"} category DELETE /categories/:id(.:format) {:controller=>"categories", :action=>"destroy"} edit_category GET /categories/:id/edit(.:format) {:controller=>"categories", :action=>"edit"} As can be seen, each resource is ordered in a tree. So I believe that, it's could be interesting to simplify my routes such as for example: /categories/ => / /categories/:id => /:id /categories/:category_id/articles/ => /:category_id/articles /categories/:category_id/articles/:id => /:category_id/:id /categories/:category_id/articles/:article_id/comments/ => /:category_id/:article_id/comments /categories/:category_id/articles/:article_id/comments/:id => /:category_id/:article_id/:id It's more DRY, is't it? :) Does Rails 3 provides a easy way to do so, with an HTTP verbs mapping to controller actions automatically? Thanks anyone.

  • Accessing multiple view controllers in page controller

    - by Apple Delegates
I am showing view in ipad like a book, single view shows two view. I want to add more views so that when view flipped third and fourth view appears and further. I am using the code below to do so. I am adding ViewControllers to array it got kill at orientation method at this line " ContentViewController *currentViewController = [self.pageViewController.viewControllers objectAtIndex:0];". - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; //Instantiate the model array self.modelArray = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; for (int index = 1; index <= 12 ; index++) { [self.modelArray addObject:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"Page %d",index]]; } //Step 1 //Instantiate the UIPageViewController. self.pageViewController = [[UIPageViewController alloc] initWithTransitionStyle:UIPageViewControllerTransitionStylePageCurl navigationOrientation:UIPageViewControllerNavigationOrientationHorizontal options:nil]; //Step 2: //Assign the delegate and datasource as self. self.pageViewController.delegate = self; self.pageViewController.dataSource = self; //Step 3: //Set the initial view controllers. • Problem with room/screen/menu controller in python game: old rooms are not removed from memory

    - by Jordan Magnuson
I'm literally banging my head against a wall here (as in, yes, physically, at my current location, I am damaging my cranium). Basically, I've got a Python/Pygame game with some typical game "rooms", or "screens." EG title screen, high scores screen, and the actual game room. Something bad is happening when I switch between rooms: the old room (and its various items) are not removed from memory, or from my event listener. Not only that, but every time I go back to a certain room, my number of event listeners increases, as well as the RAM being consumed! (So if I go back and forth between the title screen and the "game room", for instance, the number of event listeners and the memory usage just keep going up and up. The main issue is that all the event listeners start to add up and really drain the CPU. I'm new to Python, and don't know if I'm doing something obviously wrong here, or what. I will love you so much if you can help me with this! Below is the relevant source code. Complete source code at http://www.necessarygames.com/my_games/betraveled/betraveled_src0328.zip MAIN.PY class RoomController(object): """Controls which room is currently active (eg Title Screen)""" def __init__(self, screen, ev_manager): self.room = None self.screen = screen self.ev_manager = ev_manager self.ev_manager.register_listener(self) self.room = self.set_room(config.room) def set_room(self, room_const): #Unregister old room from ev_manager if self.room: self.room.ev_manager.unregister_listener(self.room) self.room = None #Set new room based on const if room_const == config.TITLE_SCREEN: return rooms.TitleScreen(self.screen, self.ev_manager) elif room_const == config.GAME_MODE_ROOM: return rooms.GameModeRoom(self.screen, self.ev_manager) elif room_const == config.GAME_ROOM: return rooms.GameRoom(self.screen, self.ev_manager) elif room_const == config.HIGH_SCORES_ROOM: return rooms.HighScoresRoom(self.screen, self.ev_manager) def notify(self, event): if isinstance(event, ChangeRoomRequest): if event.game_mode: config.game_mode = event.game_mode self.room = self.set_room(event.new_room) #Run game def main(): pygame.init() screen = pygame.display.set_mode(config.screen_size) ev_manager = EventManager() spinner = CPUSpinnerController(ev_manager) room_controller = RoomController(screen, ev_manager) pygame_event_controller = PyGameEventController(ev_manager) spinner.run() EVENT_MANAGER.PY class EventManager: #This object is responsible for coordinating most communication #between the Model, View, and Controller. def __init__(self): from weakref import WeakKeyDictionary self.last_listeners = {} self.listeners = WeakKeyDictionary() self.eventQueue= [] self.gui_app = None #---------------------------------------------------------------------- def register_listener(self, listener): self.listeners[listener] = 1 #---------------------------------------------------------------------- def unregister_listener(self, listener): if listener in self.listeners: del self.listeners[listener] #---------------------------------------------------------------------- def clear(self): del self.listeners[:] #---------------------------------------------------------------------- def post(self, event): # if isinstance(event, MouseButtonLeftEvent): # debug(event.name) #NOTE: copying the list like this before iterating over it, EVERY tick, is highly inefficient, #but currently has to be done because of how new listeners are added to the queue while it is running #(eg when popping cards from a deck). • No method error in controller create action

    - by user2799827
I have read a number of Q&As on SO in search of some help on this but have so far not solved my issue. I am trying to teach myself ruby/rails, and as a test project, I want to create a list of tvshows and a list of characters where each tvshow has_many characters and each character belongs_to a specific show. I am sure I am doing something basic incorrectly. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. here is the characters controller: class CharactersController < ApplicationController before_action :set_character, only: [:show, :edit, :update, :destroy] # GET /characters # GET /characters.json def index @characters = Character.all end # GET /characters/1 # GET /characters/1.json def show end # GET /characters/new def new @character = Character.new end # GET /characters/1/edit def edit end # POST /characters # POST /characters.json def create @character = @tvshow.characters.create(params[:character]) respond_to do |format| if @character.save format.html { redirect_to @character, notice: 'Character was successfully created.' } format.json { render action: 'show', status: :created, location: @character } else format.html { render action: 'new' } format.json { render json: @character.errors, status: :unprocessable_entity } end end end # PATCH/PUT /characters/1 # PATCH/PUT /characters/1.json def update respond_to do |format| if @character.update(character_params) format.html { redirect_to @character, notice: 'Character was successfully updated.' } format.json { head :no_content } else format.html { render action: 'edit' } format.json { render json: @character.errors, status: :unprocessable_entity } end end end # DELETE /characters/1 # DELETE /characters/1.json def destroy @character.destroy respond_to do |format| format.html { redirect_to characters_url } format.json { head :no_content } end end private # Use callbacks to share common setup or constraints between actions. def set_character @character = Character.find(params[:id]) end # Never trust parameters from the scary internet, only allow the white list through. def character_params params.require(:character).permit(:first_name, :last_name, :bio) end end character model: class Character < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :tvshow default_scope -> { order('created_at DESC') } validates :tvshow_id, presence: true end tvshow model: class Tvshow < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :characters, dependent: :destroy end error gets returned when I attempt to create a character. here is the full trace: app/controllers/characters_controller.rb:27:in • Trouble Upgrading Rails 2 Routes for a Redmine Plugin

    I am trying to get a Redmine plugin designed for Rails 2 to work with Rails 3. https://github.com/dalyons/redmine-todos-scrum-plugin I've pretty much fixed most parts, but having no success whatsoever in getting the routes to work. The original routes for Rails 2 are as follows: map.resources :todos, :name_prefix => 'project_', :path_prefix => '/projects/:project_id', :member => {:toggle_complete => :post }, :collection => {:sort => :post} map.resources :todos, :name_prefix => 'user_', :path_prefix => '/users/:user_id', :controller => :mytodos, :member => {:toggle_complete => :post }, :collection => {:sort => :post} map.my_todos 'my/todos', :controller => :mytodos, :action => :index map.connect 'projects/:project_id/todos/show/:id', :controller => "todos", :action => "show" rake routes outputs the following: sort_project_todos POST /projects/:project_id/todos/sort(.:format) {:controller=>"todos", :action=>"sort"} project_todos GET /projects/:project_id/todos(.:format) {:controller=>"todos", :action=>"index"} POST /projects/:project_id/todos(.:format) {:controller=>"todos", :action=>"create"} new_project_todo GET /projects/:project_id/todos/new(.:format) {:controller=>"todos", :action=>"new"} toggle_complete_project_todo POST /projects/:project_id/todos/:id/toggle_complete(.:format) {:controller=>"todos", :action=>"toggle_complete"} edit_project_todo GET /projects/:project_id/todos/:id/edit(.:format) {:controller=>"todos", :action=>"edit"} project_todo GET /projects/:project_id/todos/:id(.:format) {:controller=>"todos", :action=>"show"} PUT /projects/:project_id/todos/:id(.:format) {:controller=>"todos", :action=>"update"} DELETE /projects/:project_id/todos/:id(.:format) {:controller=>"todos", :action=>"destroy"} sort_user_todos POST /users/:user_id/todos/sort(.:format) {:controller=>"mytodos", :action=>"sort"} user_todos GET /users/:user_id/todos(.:format) {:controller=>"mytodos", :action=>"index"} POST /users/:user_id/todos(.:format) {:controller=>"mytodos", :action=>"create"} new_user_todo GET /users/:user_id/todos/new(.:format) {:controller=>"mytodos", :action=>"new"} toggle_complete_user_todo POST /users/:user_id/todos/:id/toggle_complete(.:format) {:controller=>"mytodos", :action=>"toggle_complete"} edit_user_todo GET /users/:user_id/todos/:id/edit(.:format) {:controller=>"mytodos", :action=>"edit"} user_todo GET /users/:user_id/todos/:id(.:format) {:controller=>"mytodos", :action=>"show"} PUT /users/:user_id/todos/:id(.:format) {:controller=>"mytodos", :action=>"update"} DELETE /users/:user_id/todos/:id(.:format) {:controller=>"mytodos", :action=>"destroy"} my_todos /my/todos {:controller=>"mytodos", :action=>"index"} /projects/:project_id/todos/show/:id {:controller=>"todos", :action=>"show"} The nearest I have got for Rails 3 is follows: scope '/projects/:project_id', :name_prefix => 'project_' do resources :todos, :controller => 'todos' do member do post :toggle_complete end collection do post :sort end end end scope '/users/:user_id', :name_prefix => 'user_' do resources :todos, :controller => 'mytodos' do member do post :toggle_complete end collection do post :sort end end end match 'my/todos' => 'mytodos#index', :as => :my_todos match 'projects/:project_id/todos/show/:id' => 'todos#show' rake routes outputs the following: toggle_complete_todo POST /projects/:project_id/todos/:id/toggle_complete(.:format) todos#toggle_complete {:name_prefix=>"project_"} sort_todos POST /projects/:project_id/todos/sort(.:format) todos#sort {:name_prefix=>"project_"} todos GET /projects/:project_id/todos(.:format) todos#index {:name_prefix=>"project_"} POST /projects/:project_id/todos(.:format) todos#create {:name_prefix=>"project_"} new_todo GET /projects/:project_id/todos/new(.:format) todos#new {:name_prefix=>"project_"} edit_todo GET /projects/:project_id/todos/:id/edit(.:format) todos#edit {:name_prefix=>"project_"} todo GET /projects/:project_id/todos/:id(.:format) todos#show {:name_prefix=>"project_"} PUT /projects/:project_id/todos/:id(.:format) todos#update {:name_prefix=>"project_"} DELETE /projects/:project_id/todos/:id(.:format) todos#destroy {:name_prefix=>"project_"} POST /users/:user_id/todos/:id/toggle_complete(.:format) mytodos#toggle_complete {:name_prefix=>"user_"} POST /users/:user_id/todos/sort(.:format) mytodos#sort {:name_prefix=>"user_"} GET /users/:user_id/todos(.:format) mytodos#index {:name_prefix=>"user_"} POST /users/:user_id/todos(.:format) mytodos#create {:name_prefix=>"user_"} GET /users/:user_id/todos/new(.:format) mytodos#new {:name_prefix=>"user_"} GET /users/:user_id/todos/:id/edit(.:format) mytodos#edit {:name_prefix=>"user_"} GET /users/:user_id/todos/:id(.:format) mytodos#show {:name_prefix=>"user_"} PUT /users/:user_id/todos/:id(.:format) mytodos#update {:name_prefix=>"user_"} DELETE /users/:user_id/todos/:id(.:format) mytodos#destroy {:name_prefix=>"user_"} my_todos /my/todos(.:format) mytodos#index /projects/:project_id/todos/show/:id(.:format) todos#show I am guessing that I am not using :name_prefix correctly, resulting in duplicate paths which are then omitted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Is Samba Server what I'm looking for, and if so, what do I need? (currently on DD-WRT Micro)

    - by Anthony
I am really confused as to what Samba actually does and how it works. Here's what I'm hoping it does: I set up a Samba server on my LAN, and everyone will be able to see each other's shared files and swap them. But some of the documentation makes it sound like it will just allow Mac/Linux computers to see Windows computers. Other bits of the documentation make it sound more like a local server, where a Linux machine would install Samba and they would see everyone and be visible to everyone, but that won't change if anybody else can see each other. While still other things I've read make it seem more like a file-server, where everyone sees each other but file transfers are not peer-to-peer but instead need a host disk for files to act as go between. So, assuming I'm even in the right ballpark of what Samba does in terms of my goal of total cross-visibility on the network, I am left with needing to know what I'd need to set up the server and whether it can be done and is worth it... DD-WRT's article on Samba is a bit ambiguous. One second it sounds as if I can run the server on micro as long as it's set up on a usb drive, but then it also sounds like micro can't run it at all, etc. If I can run it from a usb-connected drive, I still need to know if the files are actually stored on that drive. The dd-wrt article mentions: You can run a Samba server on your main computer and run a client on your router (thus gaining writable storage for the router) or you can use Samba to share a drive connected (typically by USB) to the router among all the computers connected to your network. That one part "to share a drive...among all the computers" makes it sound like the only benefit I get from Samba is a share drive that any OS on the network can see, but they still won't see each other. But I'm very hopeful I'm misreading this. If the computers can see each other but still need the disk, how much space is generally a good idea? I'm basing this on the idea that the drive is a temporary store point. Obviously I'd have to get a drive big enough to store everything people wanted to share if the drive is a full-on file server. If I do have this all wrong, is there any software that achieves what I have in mind? Something that connects to the main router to bridge all clients?

  • How to get wireless working (properly) with Sitecom Wireless USB micro adapter 300N on Windows 7?

    - by Timo
The question says it all, but more detail follows ;) I've got a new computer that runs Windows 7 64-bits (Home Edition) and I'd like to connect it to my wireless home network (Sitecom wireless gigabit router 300N wl-352 v1 002) with a Sitecom wireless USB micro adaptapter 300 wl-352 V2 001. After installing the router (i.e. connected to the modem and power) and ensuring that wireless is indeed enabled, I've installed the driver of the USB adapter on the new computer described above. After the installation (drivers and utility on CD) completes successfull I rebooted my computer and inserted the USB adapter. After discovering the right network and connecting to it using the network key, a connection is succesfully made. (Using the Sitecom 300N USB Wireless LAN utility). In the LAN utility I can see that the signal strength is approximately 50% and connection quality is approximately 80%. Judging from these numbers I assumed that all was fine and started to use the connection (reading news on nu.nl, a dutch news site), but noticed that the connection was lost several times in a very short time span, but each time the connections was resumed, resulting in the 50/80 percent numbers described above. However, the website was not loaded completely and often a timeout would be reported. When inspecting the drivers through Device Management (Windows' Apparaatbeheer in dutch) there were no errors/warnings; everything seemed to be in order. In an attempt to solve this, I downloaded the latest drivers for the USB adapter, but the problems remained. Finally I tried to connect the computer with a Siemens Gigaset USB Adapter 108. This process was a troublesome since I had to download a driver (from the site above) and tell Windows (7) to use the Windows Vista driver when installing the new hardware, since there is (was) no Windows 7 driver available. This resulted in a usable connection, although not very stable when reconfiguring the router. Which took the form of selecting a different wireless channel on the router, even using the Sitecom utility mentioned above to check if there were other networks communicating on that channel (and thus picking a channel that was not used by other networks). Again no result when changing back to the Sitecom USB adapter. Note that this means (I think) that I could use the internet connection with the Siemens adapter, meaning the problem was not in the router. So: How to get wireless working (properly) with Sitecom Wireless USB micro adapter 300N on Windows 7? PS Sorry, but should be able to post one link, while I had links in place for the USB adapter, router and the siemens adapter in place as well, but I'm not (yet) allowed to post these... (The site says I can post one link, but only when no links are present will it allow me to post the question...)
